Bereavement: The Review

Bereavement is an interesting movie. For a Gimp movie, it actually tries to have a bit more complicated storyline (the story of a child brought up by a serial killer). But this is about Gimpage, and how can you notice any of that stuff with Alexandra Daddario's tits flying around? So this will be the gimp review, not the Siskel-Ebert review.

First a word about Alexandra Daddario, if you've seen her on TV you will remember her. Before this she had guest spots on Law and Order: Criminal Intent and Parenthood, and she was in some Nickelodeon grade material. She's about 5'6" with a perfect smile, build and huge natural endowments. And she has an innocence about her that can be very attractive. I'm writing all of this because she is also tied up and menaced in the recently released (in theaters) Chainsaw. So she's been in two adult movies and been tied in both of them. Let's hope she keeps it up.

Now on to the gimpage in Bereavement. All of the scenes occur in what look like stalls in an old factory or meat packing plant of some sort. The first scene occurs about five minute in with a very attractive shorthaired blond. She is wearing a sweater, is tied arms overhead and is screaming incessantly until she's crippled with a knife in front of the boy. The scene is nothing special, but it rolls before the opening credits. Is it a good sign of things to come?

In the next scene, interspaced with scenes of Alexandra jogging (a good thing). We see a lovely brunette (Valentina De Angelis) tied arms over head and struggling in her bonds in a sleeveless top. In the background you hear another women screaming as she gets cut up by the villain. We her struggling against her bonds and then the story proceeds.

In the next scene we Valentina still AOH as the villain and the boy come into the room. The villain cuts the boy in front of the struggling victim as she screams. The boy comes back into the room after a couple of scenes and cuts her loose. She tries to escape, hides and is caught by the villain who hangs her upside down with a meat hook under one of her knees on what looks like a meat storage pulley. He then pulls her struggling the whole time upside down into an incinerator and burns her alive. This is an A+ Ralphus scene

Now we see an older woman tied AOH who is stabbed repeatedly in front of the boy. A short scene but nothing special.

But then Alexandra decides to let her curiosity get the best of her and check the place out. She's hunting for the boy who she feels is a victim. She sees some newspaper clippings about the boy and decides to explore further. She is surprised by the villain, thrown to the ground and knocked out. Then we see her wake up clothed in a wife beater hanging AOH. This is a beautiful sight.

There are a few plot twists, but in the next scene she is confronted by the villain with a knife while hanging AOH, she is screaming and twisting in her bonds. Her stepfather pulls up to the place looking for her, so the villain gags her. We see several scenes of her struggling against the gag. Then the villain unties her and drags her down into a cellar, locking her in a meat locker

Now we see her in the meat locker shivering. She finds the first victim and begins to scream. Her boyfriend finds her but the villain surprises him from behind and she watches him get killed from the window of the meat locker door. She turns around and collapses against the door. She manages to escape and run back and help the boy escape. There aren't many other Gimp scenes of significance as it morphs into a slasher flick from here on out.

It's a solid effort, not quite an A+, but a solid A-. Four different girls tied AOH, and one of them is a truly beautiful mainstream actress. We are also treated to more than a few scenes of Alexandra in a wife beater, well worth the price of admission.

First, let me also extend my sympathy to Amy on the loss of her father.

Another excellent post from Margot.

8-10 hours of Amy being being whipped in Dead But Dreaming? And most of it will end up on the cutting room floor. That's... almost criminal.

Would you consider later having a release of the raw footage of that scene?

elkcreek: Great work on the review of Bereavement. I have to say those caps were first rate.

I hadn't heard of this film, nor was I familiar with Alexandra Daddario. But it sounds like this is one that is definitely worth checking out.

It's always a pleasant surprise to learn about a mainstream film that actually lives up to expectations.

Elkcreek: Kudos for a great review, as fun to read as Alexandra Daddario is to look at. This was one I got from Netflix last year just to scan through looking for scenes, only to get hooked in by the story, so I started over and watched the film from start to finish. It was one of the finalists for me when I was picking the Best Mainstream Film of the Year in last year's Ralphus Awards. A better than average horror film with lots of pretty girls in peril, and like you, I'm definitely smitten by Alexandra Daddario. Gorgeous girl with a real screen presence, and those tight shirts she wore with her nipples popping through didn't hurt. I actually applauded when she got the treatment halfway through the film. "Yes, they've got the babe tied up!"

BTW, obviously I'm getting a reputation. A scene where a chick gets burned to death is now referred to as a "Ralphus scene"? Hey, I don't mind. And that was my favorite scene of the movie, completely took me by surprise when the guy turned on the gas and the flames overtook the chick who was hanging up-side down. Then a shot of the smoke escaping the tower of the building? Wonderful way to end the scene.

The direct link to your review is in my Homepage URL above.

I've heard that Bereavement is a sequel of sorts to a film called Malevolence, made by the same director. I haven't seen it; it's in my Netflix queue, but I've heard it also has considerable GIMPage. Definitely one to seek out.

I found the first 3 minutes on YouTube. As you can see, it closely apes the first scene in the movie you just reviewed.

What a great idea for renovating the kitchen...

elkcreek: Thanks for your well-written and amply-illustrated review of Bereavement. It's always a pleasure to learn about a mainstream film that has its priorities in order. I'll be looking for this one.

I don't remember if I first heard about Alexandra Doddario on this site or elsewhere, but it's so good to see her in a role like this. Angelic face, big eyes, dark hair, wearing a skimpy tank top...like a GIMPer's dream come true.

----------

Ralphus and DHT: I had the same experiences with The Base as you've described. I wonder if the "invitation only" policy is a reaction to having been attacked by a virus (I say this knowing nothing about the technical aspects of such a scenario). Would they be safer if they formed a member group like Tarl's and let people apply for membership?

Thank you to those who commented on my story 'Anna's War' and enjoyed it. Fritz's comments were particularly encouraging and I hope more of you read and enjoyed the story than posted comments! I do however understand that visual media will always generate much more interest, and I too really appreciate the skills, imagination and talent of film makers.

I am very pleased to introduce my second story to be hosted on this site. It is entitled 'Bella - the Devil is in Her!' and can be accessed from the stories section or direct from the homepage URL above.

This story contains many familiar themes for GIMP fans of inquisition tales - innocent girls caught up in a tangled web of powerful, corrupt, amoral men, who use traditional, legally authorised methods of persuasion to uncover the breadth and depth of the witches' coven. Of course these methods are excruciatingly painful and humiliating for the suspects, as is the inevitable punishment that follows their confessions.

As before, this is a long story, starting with the peaceful normality of village life and showing the acts and behaviours of the people involved that enabled that peace to be transformed into abject horror and depravity. The interrogation and punishment scenes are again described in great detail, but I hope they are credible in the context of the story. Enjoy!

A L Fielden has a new story posted: Guys, I'm the same way most of you are. I don't want to invest an hour reading a story to get turned on. Looking at black words on a white screen seems so...old fashioned with instant video gratification only a click or two away.

But let me tell you, this guy is good. This guy is really good. Eda Chang was his inspiration...he sets his sights high. His tortured witch story is the first thing I ever read from him, and I could tell right away this guy was something special. This story is jam-packed with medieval GIMPage. If that kind of stuff rings your bell, trust me, you're going to love this story. It's truly stimulating stuff.

carnyx: "Tarl", or more accurately Tribute to Tarl, is a Yahoo membership group that has archived many, many pics of women in bondage - ranging from tame to extreme - capped from movies.

Recently, they have reorganized the site and now call themselves tttreload. The website is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tttreload.

In order to join, you must first get a Yahoo username and password - easy and free. You will probably have to jump through a few hoops to swear to Yahoo that you are an adult and that you "accept" terms and conditions, yada, yada, yada.

You will then need to apply for membership in the group, and they will let you know by e-mail that you are in. You will need to furnish information, like your date of birth and e-mail, as well as your desired member name (like "carnyx"). The e-mail is needed to respond to your membership request, and the date of birth is used to confirm that you are not a minor.

One of the advantages of GIMP fiction is that the writer can tell you what's going on in the minds of the characters.

This story definitely draws you in and keeps you engaged.

I hope to read more of your works (and those of others like Eda Chang) in the future.

Thanks to whoever mentioned "The Abductors" (1972) here recently. I had never heard of it but decided to check it out, and wow, what a great pre-opening credits scene! Maybe a new favorite. That scene in which the three girls are kidnapped is like a scene I'd make if it were to make a movie...it checks all the boxes: forcible abduction, abduction at gunpoint, forced stripping, on screen tying and gagging, great reactions (one girl has to watch as her friends get tied up before she too is eventually tied & gagged and led off, the girl who drove the car looks on fearfully as her car is soaked with gasoline and eventually set alight, etc). There are a few other good scenes elsewhere in the movie too.

Man, why aren't there any modern films like "The Abductors" around today.

What a great forum that we can still introduce a regular contributor to an classic. Then, though not quite as good, you MUST check the other two legs of the three-legged GIMP trilogy: "Girls Are For Loving" and "Ginger", which has one of the great tied rape scenes of all time.

While I seldom read other writers' stories, how could I not read A.L. Fielden's Anna's War after the raves it received on the forum (I'm jealous of the amount of feedback for it -- I wrote my last story specifically for those who voted on the other side of the last poll and got only one comment on the forum -- thank you, Nia) and his generosity in crediting my writing as an inspiration for him. I was not disappointed. I particularly like the fact that he spends the time to develop his lead characters and to set up his plot situations in order to tell a complete story.

I confess though that I am not much into stories about accused witches, given the different dynamic that drives them. [Whether a captive is guilty or innocent changes the entire psychology of the story.] So I will wait for Mr. Fielden's next story in my preferred genre.

Keep up the good work, Mr. Fielden.

A L Fielden: Thank-you for another of your excellent GIMP tales. Like Eda, I'm usually not partial to stories about witches, the inquisition and such, but yours held my attention all the way through. As Ralphus mentioned, it's another long one, but for me that is a big plus. I don't mind spending a few hours reading a very descriptive, detailed tale of peril, especially if it builds slowly and leads to a suitably satisfying climax. You certainly are a talented writer, and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.

As for the limited feedback on the board, don't let it bother you. Despite the preponderance of video chatter at this place, I suspect there is a silent and devoted group of GIMPers here who actually enjoy reading. Maybe I'm wrong... but let's be optimistic.

Further, the number of responses you got for Anna's War is on the high side. I too have a few (long) stories posted here (slyly hidden in Eda's section because I appropriated her characters), and I have yet to get a single comment on the board. But I don't write to get props - I do it for my own enjoyment. And then I imagine that maybe someone else has read the story, even if there's no evidence anyone has. Okay... I know there's at least one person... but you get the picture - do it for yourself first and trust that there are others who will appreciate the results.

Have you considered Teraz Films? I know Red Feline is the crowd favorite around here, but I don't recall whether they do custom scenes. Former GIMP contributor and Teraz owner Roman Nowicki is a master of whipping scenes. Check out my review of Mark of the Whip 2 for more info and some stills. Roman does accept custom requests and offers a profit-share plan which lets you recover a percentage of the revenue your video pulls in.

PKF also produces top-tier customs. One of those John M. filmed for me has a great whipping scene.

I've always been bothered by the Damian 'artwork'. They are almost all just scans of old London/Hom mags that were released whenever they made a new movie. The pic posted the other day, is from a video I happen to still have called The Pain Game, with Alexis Payne, Star Chandler, and Angella Faith. The woman in the pic is Star Chandler. I'm reasonably sure they are from scans and not screen caps because some of his art I recognize from the mag. Bman is even asking if it could be set to video. Well, here ya go!

Having said all that, and not wanting to sound too much like a know-it-all, let me also say that Damian's use of the original work is a heck of a lot GIMPier than the video, which is about Alexis Payne's two slaves demonstrating who can take more of her whipping. There's no real implied danger, no rape, no gags, no serious (let alone merciless), no peril.

Not trying to put down those that like his work, but really, he's just a guy scanning mags and photoshopping them. Maybe the allure is the newer setting, which is always scarier and implying much greater peril. Then the problem is me as I keep thinking of the original work. But it seems a shame. Even if the london/hom stuff isn't your cup of tea, it was a well made product from a studio that tried to make good bondage movies with competent lighting/sound, etc.

The Redsin Tower (2006)

Movie info
Available from: Amazon
Movie trailer

This movie concerns a topic of great social and political importance...supernatural rape, or rape by an invisible assailant.

We've seen this phenomenon before - Barbara Hershey in The Entity and Tiffany Shepis in Nightmare Man, to name a few.

So why has this suddenly taken on such importance? Actually, it really hasn't, I'm just kidding. But here's a serious question to consider: How much would you be willing to pay to see a supernatural rape scene on your TV/monitor screen? The movie being reviewed here is currently on sale at Amazon for $63 (used) to $100 (new). And while it includes a lot of carnage and gore, the main attraction for GIMP fans is likely to be the supernatural rape scene.

The movie, shot in my hometown on what was probably a miniscule budget, was directed by Fred Vogel of August Underground fame. It concerns a young lady, Kim (girl-next-door-cute Bethany Newell) who has just dumped her somewhat obsessive boyfriend, and he responds by becoming, well, even more obsessive. The trailer might lead you to believe that he is the main perp, but he has competition.

Kim's boyfriend fucks her, then she breaks up with him, then she takes a bath. Was it something he said?

Kim's girlfriend - who is a kinda gothic and wears her hair with two little horn-like projections coming out of it - convinces Kim to join her and four other young rascals on an initiative that involves breaking into an abandoned building (the titular Redsin Tower) and engaging in a night of drinking, drugs and debauchery.

Because, you know, what could be more hip than that? Especially since the building was the former site of some grotesque experiments on human subjects, so it's the kind of place you can tell your friends you hung out at and they would say, "Wow, pretty cool." And there are three guys and three girls, so what could be better than to pair off and go your separate ways, the more easily to be picked off one at a time by a killer?

Long story short, they end up unleashing a malevolent spirit. Several gory incidents ensue through the first hour, until we come to the highlight of the show.

Kim is alone with her newfound-wannabe-boyfriend, who has her on the floor and is in the process of disrobing her. She's still in a bit of a funk about the break-up with her ex, so she starts to resist. Just as he manages to forcefully snatch her panties off, he is thrown against the wall by the evil force, who wants a piece of Kim. Actually it wants all of her, and thereupon begins a rather lengthy and graphic possession sequence.

Bethany Newell does a nice job here, squirming, screaming and shaking. She's already lost her panties, and now her top gets ripped away, leaving nothing left but an extremely short, denim, flounced skirt that hides nothing. Some ugly-looking fluid is discharged from her nether region, so we might assume that is the point of entry for the demon.

Suddenly, Newell is bathed in light and her reactions become even more intense. Unfortunately, the experience does not do much for her appearance, because when the light fades and she gets up off the floor, she has become something else entirely.

What follows is a rather extreme good vs. evil showdown involving some boogedy-boogedy about a mystical sign, and Newell remains topless and hideous throughout. But nothing GIMPworthy happens as the movie hurtles toward a conclusion that is not quite surprising, yet not entirely satisfactory either.

So yeah, nice performance by Newell...but is it worth spending $63-$100 on? I say no. The price undoubtedly reflects the scarcity of the DVD and the cult status of the director. I thought the players did a pretty good job with some rather cliched material, and obviously I was impressed with Bethany Newell; but I was turned off by the copious display of body parts and bodily fluids of several varieties.

If you happen to find it for rent or sale cheap, it might provide a good addition to your chicks-raped-by-an-invisible-demon-in-an-abandoned-building compilation. Otherwise, I don't think it's a must-see. My Grade: C

I have to admit, I've never even heard of this film, although I am familiar with Fred Vogel, the director from August Underground. I've seen a handful of his films, and with the exception of that one film, nothing else I've seen from him stands out as being particularly GIMP-worthy.

So I'm curious, did you cough up a hundred bucks to acquire your copy? That's obviously way too much for a film that merits only a C grade; I'm sure it's available for download on the net if you know where to look.

BlueDog wrote (about Damian):

Well, a manipulation artist has to get his material from somewhere. I don't know how to use Photoshop (never tried) but I'm guessing it's not an easy process. I've seen some really cheesy photoshopped artworks, and they're embarrassingly bad, something I would be ashamed to post in public. Damian's works, for the most part, are excellently done.

Maybe the allure is the newer setting, which is always scarier and implying much greater peril.

Absolutely, and I think that's the key to his popularity. He mainly puts his women in medieval settings with harsh, often extremely brutal tortures befalling them. How often do you get to see scenarios like that in movies? Almost never, and even fewer times with the victims fully nude. Most bondage actresses would never consent to a movie like that, or even a photo shoot. So, he takes stills from a generic bondage film or photo set, and makes them into something most of us really would prefer to see.

One of my favorite bondage models was Rosaleen Young, cute as a button with an angelic face, a girl you wished would live next door to you. I've posted some of her photos at the top of the site from time to time. The problem is, most of her bondage stuff was very vanilla. With the exception of some of her shoots for Annabelle's Fantasies, most of her work was pretty lightweight, not what you would call extreme.

But no problem, because Damian obviously saw her as the perfect model for a number of his works. I'll run one tonight as an example. And thank God Damian is such a talented artist so that we can finally see Rosaleen Young the way we want to see her...as a tortured victim.

I agree with Ralphus that Damian is one of the best manipulation artists around. I've toyed with bats manipulations at Stakedamsels and can say it is not easy to do. It's very tedious and time-consuming to do for me and for Damian to flawlessly blend all the different elements into each of his manipulated gimp torture artworks he does, which must be a least close to a thousand, is amazing to me.

That being said he has done very little bats and fiery peril artworks in general, which I wish he would do more. So I don't look for or collect his works. At the BSDMartwork site of all 200 to 300 gimp torture artworks I saw, only one was bats related and maybe 5 fiery peril related were posted there. Bill K.

First Ralphus thanks for the heads up on "Riddle". I agree with your assessment, it's a decent scene but not a gimp movie. OTOH, if has a lot of Elisabeth Harnois and this is a good thing. Since Pt Pleasant, she has been mostly over clothed in all her appearances. Can you explain to me how a girl on the Las Vegas CSI is always wearing a jacket outdoors?

Also I checked out the movie "Girls vs Boys", What a waste of Gimp opportunity... Danielle Panabaker gets raped but all we see is a hanging fixture in focus with the rape occurring out of focus in the background. What a waste, stay away!

@Bluedog: well written reply.
Damian usually does excellent work. If you are into the bdsm market at all, then you probably recognize some of the "models" for his work. He also does a lot of "face-changing" (for lack of a better term), so that the faces are different than the real ones, makes for a lot more variety.

Have you guys heard of another artist named Zell? He did some top notch CG work, but I haven't come across any new stuff in the last few years.

Regarding The Redsin Tower...

Ralphus wrote: So I'm curious, did you cough up a hundred bucks to acquire your copy?

Uh, no. Actually, I saw this movie a while back, but kinda forgot about it when it went slinking into my subconscious and lurked there for a while. Someone reminded me about it, and I looked to see if it was available. Interestingly, Toe Tag Entertainment, the production company involved in it, is offering a VHS version on their site. But I figured that until someone makes the DVD available for a reasonable price, I'm going to get it wherever I can find it. Amazon is offering 25 bucks for used copies...maybe folks who are willing to part with their copies of the DVD will help bring the reselling price down.

A Canadian wrote: I'm not sure what this film ultimately tells us about your hometown...

I think it tells us we need to call the Ghostbusters.

...But invisible assailants don't ring my bell.

Well there's the crux of the issue. What do GIMPers think about the idea of supernatural rape?

Back in the day, when I went to the cinema and watched Barbara Hershey get reamed by a poltergeist in The Entity, I heard a dude sitting behind me say, "Nice job."

Carol (Barbara Hershey) gets fucked by a ghost...and her husband doesn't like it one bit.

The special effects team even managed to make it look like Barbara's tits were really being groped and squeezed.

John Galt, in his review of Hollow Man, praised the performance of Rhona Mitra (in the Director's Cut version of the movie).

Rhona Mitra never knew what hit her in Hollow Man

In that case, it was a human (Kevin Bacon) who was invisible, not a demon or ghost.

Personally, I like an invisible rape scene if the execution is good. I like to watch the victim splayed out and squirming and sweating and moaning.

----------

Here's some more good news for Netflix Streaming subscribers: I checked out Daughters of Satan and both of the whipping scenes are intact. The first one starts the movie off. The second one, the great scene with Barra Grant, occurs about one hour into the movie. Maybe if more subscribers watch the good stuff when it comes around, Netflix will offer us more of the same. As long as they don't cut out the best scenes, I say huzzah!

It's an interesting question. I haven't seen the movies being recommended, so maybe my assumptions about the invisible rapists are off-base. But I remain skeptical.

Supernatural rapists and invisible rapists are not the same to me. Supernatural means demons, ghosts or similar that are invisible rapists which also are in the raped gimp's (possessed) mind and this is more erotically appealing to me. The invisible rapist (a real man) is sci-fi and too unbelievable to be erotic to me. Bill K.

YikYakker asked:

Well, I've never seen The Entity, which is surprising since I've always thought Barbara Hershey was very attractive. Not only that, I have a buddy who raves about that film. I never saw Nightmare Man, nor The Redsin Tower. The invisible man rape in Hollow Man was interesting (but too short), but overall didn't do much for me. And honestly, the idea of seeing a woman being raped by a ghost doesn't really appeal to me. I'm more of a realism guy when it comes to my fantasies. I'm not a ghost (well, not yet anyway) and since I usually put myself in the role of the bad guy when watching these movies, I guess I have a hard time relating.

However, I did really like a scene in an old ZFX film, Dance Macabre, where Kim Sax (a ZFX one-timer) gets raped by an invisible being, who eventually morphs into a real person by the end. It was one of those "weird shit" fantasy films that Rick used to make, and I honestly don't remember much else about it except this particular scene. But it was definitely a scene I enjoyed, so who knows?

Ralphus, am I allowed to post samples from my private collection?

Sure, just don't go nuts with it and post a dozen images at once. Multiple images can take a while for some people's computers to load, so keep that in mind. Also, not longer than 825 width if you're doing embeds. No size restrictions if you're doing links.

It's also a good idea to check your work on the HTML Practice site first before you post. There's a link to it on the SIGN THE FORUM page.

Really? I thought it was old news that Maleficarum began as a custom scene when I paid to see Amy roasted on a spit. That got the ball rolling and they made it into a big budget, feature-length film.

D. Santorum paid for his custom public flogging scene, and it will be included as part of the plot when Dead But Dreaming gets released this year.

So let your mind wander about what you want to have done to Amy. She'll seemingly do anything...at least once...for the right price :)

Fred Vogel and Toe Tag have always seemed to me to be pretty genuine people and fans of the horror genre. I've seen some interviews with Vogel and he seems like a good guy, not nearly as annoying as his persona in films would suggest, and he's a pretty good make-up artist who learned from one of the more famous people in that business, Tom Savini. The August Underground films are incredibly sick, though, especially the second one. Sick in an unerotic way, LOL

You know, it makes me angry to stop by here and read these posts disparaging my friend Honest Ali. I've been dealing from him for years and every slave I've purchased has been top quality every time. He deals in volume; he's got slaves coming in from different countries all the time and yet he still tests out each one personally to make sure she's sexually adequate, which is a job in itself. I think that kind of dedication to his business is an inspiration.

As for the lack of whip marks, well, obviously, you put your premium merchandise on display up front since that's what sells the best. He does have some uncooperative slaves that have whip marks and brandings for sale in the back tent; those go for a reduced price since most customers like to mark the girls up themselves.

You know what's funny? He's also got some women with tattoos back there too and he can't give them away. His customers don't like tattooed women and they just won't buy them at all. And for all you women out there thinking it's a good idea to get a tattoo now to avoid becoming a potential slave, think again. Honest Ali usually wholesales them out to the hunting club and they get used for target practice.

If he is, then the crew from Strike Back-Section 20, will have a few words with him-and he likely won't survive the experience, nor will any of his henchmen, nor any customers if they are on the premises. If you've sold your ex, or former girlfriend, to him, that's another matter entirely and they'll leave him alone.

The "Cannibal Cop" case: On this forum, we usually try to stay away from true crime cases, but I'll make an exception here because I think this is very relevant to the board. So here's the deal. This guy goes on DarkFetishNet (of which I'm a member and I'll bet a number of you are, too). His wife finds out, freaks out and calls the authorities on him. They investigate and discover he's shared his fantasies with other like-minded people.

Everything I read about this case tells me this guy is being hung out to dry by a prosecution that is overreacting and counting on the sensationalistic aspect of his "crimes" to get a conviction. Kidnapping! Murder! Cannibalism! Except get a clue, folks. He didn't do any of that stuff. As far as I can tell, he was heavy into fantasy but never acted on it. The worst thing I can see that he did was access an unauthorized police database to get a list of women. Fine, charge him with that, but all this other stuff is bullshit. Complete bullshit.

http://landing.newsinc.com/shared/video.html?freewheel=69016&sitesection=nydailynews_nws_us_sty_pp&VID=24489622

I feel nothing but sympathy for this guy. He lost his job, his wife, his little baby and his reputation. Wherever he goes, he'll always be known as The Cannibal Cop. Yeah, he has dark fantasies, who around here doesn't? And for this he's facing life in prison? Shades of the Jake Baker case, where a young man got sent to jail for writing a fantasy story and using a real woman's name as the victim. Baker eventually had his case thrown out, but I sure wouldn't want to be this poor guy. One can only hope that people aren't blinded by the sick and shocking aspects of the story and realize there's nothing to this case. Thank God the trial is in New York, where people are likely more open-minded and not in someplace like Oklahoma or Alabama. If that were the case, he'd probably have no chance.

Anybody else have an opinion about this case? Talk it up, guys. This is a fascinating subject for discussion. This is why we're here.

Re: the "Cannibal Cop" case, the difference between fantasy and a crime is this--he apparently took steps to help make that fantasy a reality, or so the prosecution argued. The steps included illegally accessing police databases to look for potential victims as well as following them around. I note that he's charged with conspiracy, which means that he can be convicted for agreeing to commit a crime and an overt act to forward the conspiracy, like accessing databases to locate your victims. It doesn't help him that some alleged co-conspirators apparently may have had child abuse images on their computer (two people were arrested in the U.K.). In any case, simply visiting the darkfetish website and having fantasies would not be a crime, but adding in his apparent attempts to locate possible victims, I can see why this case was charged.

It will be up to a jury to see if they can connect the accessing of the police databases to his fantasies. Since he did not testify on his own behalf, the jury may choose to believe the prosecution interpretation, put forth as follows: "This case is not about freedom of speech, or freedom of thought," [Assistant U.S. Attorney] Waxman told jurors. Fetish websites "are not on trial here. This is about Gilberto Valle's plans to hurt young women." Put another way--we all have our fetish about Girls in Merciless Peril, but if you start looking for specific victims, access a government database illegally to get their address, and follow them around....well, maybe that's more than harmless fantasy.

"Mary Kortner alleges her daughter protested and objected to Martise's actions, but he continued the mistreatment."

If that were really the case then it has nothing to do with BDSM. If the individual in question genuinely (as in, it wasn't a case of "consentual non-consent") wanted to alleged perpetrator to stop doing something then it's a matter of sexual assault. The opening of the article states that it raised issues of mentally ill individual's abilities to consent to a sex act, but the line quoted makes it sound like there really wasn't consent in the first place.

The reason Valle is going down is that he was definitely stalking these women, which is illegal. When further investigation reveals the sophisticated and illegal methods he used to stalk the women, he can clearly then be demonstrated to have means and opportunity to commit the crimes he was actively planning. And, of course, the same investigation reveals detailed plans to murder the women, in cooperation with another party.

So, there are two basic categories that his actions fall under, 1) stalking and actions to facilitate stalking, and 2) plotting a murder. The first category is illegal and his actions there were illegal, so he's definitely going down for that. As far as the second category, that's where judgement could go either way.

Obviously his defense for the second category is that it was just harmless fantasizing. The problems with that defense are as follows.

Conspiracy to commit murder is an actual crime. As with murder itself, prosecutors will attempt to demonstrate means, motive, and opportunity, but this being a conspiracy case, establishing motive is the important thing. In some crimes, financial gain is the motive. In others, satisfying hostility is the motive, as in revenge-based crimes. And in our modern society, everyone is familiar with the idea of sex-based crimes, where the motive is satisfying sexual desire. Valle's actions speak for themselves and clearly demonstrate what his sexual desires are, so the motive aspect of his crimes is well established, by Valle himself. He truly did a lot of the prosecutions' work for them.

In deciding whether plans being made to commit murder are "for real" or just fantasy, a jury would have to take into account the circumstances surrounding these plans, and whether concrete actions were being taken in support of these plans. Again, Valle's stalking actions actually following these women, meeting with them under false pretenses, and illegally accessing databases to find out their personal information all do the work of the prosecution for them here.

I'm a little surprised at you here, Ralphus. I would think that a law enforcement officer's illegally gathering information about people and creating secret files about them would be something you would take a little more seriously. If you imagine a police officer who doesn't like BDSM sites illegally gathering information about those sites' moderators in violation of PD regulations and for unspecified purposes unrelated to his occupation, you might better see the threatening nature and malicious violation of basic citizens rights of Valle's actions.

As for the other case, the Martise/Kortner BDSM case, I posted that article because I have a lot of problems with it. For one thing, it is very poorly written, and does in fact rely entirely on the sensationalistic aspects of the case in lieu of relevance. At the end of the article, two unrelated cases are brought up for no reason other than their sensationalism, distracting the reader instead of informing them. As Renzo says, the actual crime at issue is not BDSM but rather what constitutes consent, yet the article fixates on BDSM, purely for shock value. I see this as dangerous for all of us.

First of all, thanks for nicely summing up these two cases. I share your concern that the issues for us pervs go beyond the actual legality of the cases.

When members of the general public read these stories, it's likely that many of them will gloss over the finer legal points and come away with the conclusion that interest in BDSM = criminal proclivities. I would draw a parallel here in the issue of hiring gay teachers; it is assumed by many that a homosexual teacher is more likely to also be a pederast than a heterosexual teacher, an assertion that wants for evidence.

If people read into these news stories that those who like BDSM are more likely to be stalkers, abductors and even *shudder* cannibals, it's a short step to believing (as many now do) that images of such behavior actually cause the behavior.

Even if we can't be jailed because we haven't committed a crime by looking at images, people who don't understand that can cause a lot of trouble for GIMPers just by raising a fuss.

I mean, geez, we live in a society where some individuals call 911 just because they ran out of cigarettes.

True enough. Regardless of what the courts decide, the media coverage is certainly making it look like an example of cause and effect.

That said, Jennifer and Mr. Anthony have made important points. If the allegations are true, the cop in question is someone with criminal intentions. While you could argue the media are being irresponsible in linking his intentions to his online reading habits, that doesn't make him a victim.

I want to join YikYakker in thanking DHT for a very cogent explanation of the legal issues that are at play here.

My initial take on this, based entirely on early postings here, was that this was an extremely serious attack on our rights to fantasize -- our rights to have nothing more than staged depictions on our computers -- the abuse of women. As I come to understand more about the issues at hand in this case, I am somewhat more relieved. But only somewhat.

Unlike, Ralphus I do not, at least at this point, feel sorry for this guy. Even if we choose to overlook the privileges of position to learn more of his "subjects" that he appears to have abused, the allegations of stalking and conspiracy to act on his fetishes cannot be taken lightly. I happen to know personally a young woman who was stalked and I have some appreciation of the fear and even paranoia that it can cause.

I also consider this on a personal level. I happen to live in an Urban Village environment where I am in close proximity to many young and attractive women. A day does not go by that I am not in a position to conjure images of some lovely who I pass on the street -- perhaps walking their dog -- images of AOH and ball-gags. But I have noticed that these images almost always occur later. And that works for two reasons. The first is that that level of proximity is too up close and personal for me to wish anything other than Well for that person. The second, which spins off of the first, is that my "positive karma" in such instances often brings a smile or a hello that is quite pleasant. It seems almost like the opposite of stalking, And I can't imagine much being worse than seeing a more fearful reaction to such close interaction so as to wonder.... "gee, is she reading my mind?"

YikYakker is right to be worrying about how this plays out. Just as heavy metal music and violent video games are broad-brushed into discussions following every major horrific act of violence, certainly Valle's taste for the GIMP will be blown way out of proportion by those who report on this matter. For that reason, I have to say -- selfish as it sounds -- that I hope there is substantial evidence that Valle did in fact intend to do bad things. I hope Valle goes down. That may, to at least some degree, move the headlines connected to this case out of what will be considered to be the "grey areas" --- and away from the world of fantasy GIMP that we all should want to be very protective of.

I'm loving that people are coming out and posting over this story. Whether you think I'm right or wrong, it's good that we're finally getting some activity over here.

Regarding the Cannibal Cop case, I already said they should go after him for accessing the database. And to answer DHT's assumption, yes, I do take it seriously. I believe he should be found guilty on that charge. But was his intent malicious? I believe he was doing it to see if he could take the extra step in his fantasy scenario...it likely made the fantasy feel more real in his mind. But again, are we going to convict someone on their fantasies?

Let me quote a paragraph in this article from Slate.com:

Jackson reminds the jury that Valle looked at autopsy photos, and pictures of naked girls on spits. According to the prosecution, these images "have no sexual value" at all. "This is not normal pornography for any human being," he says. And as he did in his opening argument, Jackson reminds the members of the jury to use their "common sense." Finally, he tells them what's been at issue in the case from the very start. Gilberto Valle fantasizes about seeing women executed, Jackson announces to the court. "That's not a fantasy that's OK."

So...now we're deciding what kind of fantasy is OK to have? So this guy's fantasies are not "normal". Please tell me, sir, what is "normal" in your book? If you're going to try the guy for not being normal, you'll have to try millions of other men and women for the same thing. I can certainly declare that he's wrong on one issue, that the images he's describing do indeed have sexual value. So if we're going to believe his argument, it's already been disproven at least in part.

Does having a fantasy prove intent? Does it prove conspiracy? That's up to the jury to decide, but I don't buy it. Bottom line is no crime ever happened. No kidnapping ever occurred, no money was exchanged, no one got together and discussed real plans, no one got tortured, murdered and eaten. They have nothing there but conjecture.

So could this have actually happened? Well, let's use our own common sense here. How often do you ever read in the papers about women being abducted and cannibalized in a bizarre criminal plot? Really now, can you think of even one case in the last 100 years, not in a story and not in a movie, where something like this truly happened? You can't, because it doesn't happen. If it really did, if people like Gilberto Valle really acted on their dark impulses, then we might have reason to be worried. This was fantasy, pure and simple. Like the defense stated, this had about as much chance of being true as an alien invasion.

The discussion about free speech comes at an interesting time for those of us in Canada.

The Supreme Court of Canada recently issued a ruling in favour of state censorship. And the ruling is being cheered by all kinds of Obama-loving liberals -- because, you know, "words matter," and they're convinced that prosecuting thought crimes is an effective way to protect people from harm. For example, consider this column by Haroon Siddiqui, which appeared in today's Toronto Star (a liberal newspaper). According to Siddiqui:

This reaffirms the long-standing Canadian way of balancing freedom of speech and freedom from hate. It is constitutional to limit speech - "as little as possible," the court said - to curb hate, a purpose that is "pressing and substantial."

Apparently, you can "balance" free speech with the state's desire to censor things that officials find offensive. Who knew?

In my debates on this issue, I come across the same thing: the supporters of censorship like to blur the line between "thought crimes" and actual crimes. The pro-censorship types like to claim that certain offenses couldn't be prosecuted without state censorship, although their examples are always flawed. For example, you don't need "hate crime" laws to prosecute someone who paints a swastika on a synagogue. Vandalism is already a crime.

So what does any of this have to do with the "cannibal cop"?

Here's my point: If pro-censorship types are going to try to defend censorship by blurring the line between thought crimes and real crimes, then the supporters of free speech must keep the distinctions clear.

In the same way that we understand the differences between fantasy and reality, we must make a clear distinction between people who have improper thoughts and people who commit improper acts. If we try to use free speech to defend people who behave improperly, we'll find ourselves on the wrong side of the debate.

That's why I don't think we should rally behind the "cannibal cop."

I sympathize with the point Ralphus is making. The prosecutor seems to have learned about the opposite sex from his older brother, Wally Cleaver. His views are antiquated and offensive.

Nonetheless, the "cannibal cop" has been accused of committing actual crimes. While he may not have planned to actually harm anyone, it is still alleged that he crossed the line. If the allegations are true, we can't defend him.

We must ensure the distinction between thought crimes and real crimes is clear. Otherwise, we'll lose this fight.

Ralphus: Valle is not being charged with having fantasies. What is at issue here is how he acted on those fantasies. And, he has, in fact, acted on them in what seems to be obsessive, very single-minded, fixated behavior. It's not a matter of a series of actions that were all legal and acceptable until he'd actually kill someone. He has already broken laws, as you acknowledge. One of those laws involves, as I mentioned, conspiracy to commit murder.

Now, if every post he and his online friend wrote, and every document and image they produced had a dated disclaimer on it that it was fictitious and not an actual plan, he might have some grounds to fight that stuff being used as evidence in a conspiracy case. Or, if his stuff was in the form of a novel, and if he used fictitious names, all the better. It would look less like a plan and more like a fantasy. Unfortunately for his case he just went ahead and put on paper plans to abduct and murder women that he ALSO conducted investigations on and stalked and contacted on false pretenses, with no indications included in these plans that it was fiction, even naming actual women he had stalked.

Because that material is directly connected to the his stalking activities, it can not be dismissed or overlooked, nor, I feel, should it be.

You guys are all missing the point. Do any of you TRULY BELIEVE this man intended to go out and torture, kill and cannibalize multiple women? I mean, really? We're not talking Jack the Ripper here. This is a policeman, a man with obviously no criminal record, who's suddenly going to evolve into the 21st century's version of Hannibal Lector? Do you honestly believe that's the case? Or is it much more likely this guy got caught up in his fantasies and pursued them a step too far and everybody's overreacting?

You're using twisted logic that even Groucho Marx wouldn't touch. Who the hell would write disclaimers on his online fantasies? Would an asterisk at the end of each line leading to the words "not really" convince you?

Unfortunately for his case he just went ahead and put on paper plans to abduct and murder women that he ALSO conducted investigations on and stalked and contacted on false pretenses, with no indications included in these plans that it was fiction, even naming actual women he had stalked.

You need to check your facts on the case. Check out this CNN News video. He did indeed change details like the last names, ages, where he knew them, etc. He was clearly fantasizing, making up details to enhance his online escapades.

You have to use common sense to realize he wasn't seriously planning to murder and eat all those women. That's just lunacy. That's like believing every poster who writes on this forum that they have a naked woman tied up in their closet. There's a big difference between truth and fantasy. Apparently the prosecutors can't tell the difference, or else they choose to ignore it.

I'm not saying this guy is pure as the driven snow. He broke the law. But for the prosecution to throw all this extra stuff at him is the equivalent of a modern-day witch trial. And yes, I will rally behind him because I think he's being unfairly judged by the media and by the courts. He does not deserve to spend the rest of his life in prison.

For one thing, the things he has already accomplished in pursuing his fixation ARE crimes. He IS, in fact, going to have a criminal record as a felon for those things. There are strict laws about accessing official databases to find details about American citizens. To have access to those databases, you have to undergo periodic training that explains the restrictions and the consequences or violating them, in the simplest possible terms. So, your 28 year old man "with no criminal record", in full knowledge of what he was doing AND its illegality, STILL did it. That does not indicate respect for the law, or for boundaries. As I said, it's not a case of his having done a bunch of innocent mischief. He broke serious laws to get this information. And then he went on to stalk the women. There are also serious laws against that. His violations of those laws are also going to be part of his criminal record.

That's not in dispute. So, are you going to change your mind about him after he's been convicted of those particular charges? He will, after all, at that point, have a criminal record.

You talk about using common sense. Well, to use common sense, you have to look at the facts. The facts in this case show an individual who illegally and in full awareness of his actions, secretly obtained personal information about people for the purposes of stalking them, violating regulations for which he knew the possible ramifications. He used this information to stalk women, also illegal. He and his online friend concocted and documented plans to abduct and murder the women.

Those are the facts. You and I can debate his intent all day long, at the end of the day, neither of know the truth. But as has been pointed out over and over again, conspiracy to commit murder is a crime, whether the murder occurs or is prevented.

You scoff at my assertion that he should have used disclaimers. Well, every item of BDSM I have ever bought, whether it was a magazine, or a PDF, or a video download, or a ZFX videocassette in a big box with an awesome cover, has had disclaimers. They use those for a reason, their own legal protection. Something Valle wishes he had a lot more of at the moment.

Those are not facts, they are assertions the police claim are an intent to commit murder. It's up to the jury to decide if it's conspiracy or merely an online fantasy. I maintain the latter is the only logical conclusion. The plans he described were never carried out. He never bought the torture implements he described in emails with his fetishist pen pals. He never met the men accused of being his co-conspirators. No money was ever exchanged. It was online bluster, one perv talking to another perv. We don't convict people for fantasies.

Yeah, I scoff at it because disclaimers are used in entertainment, not in real life conversations. If you continue to try to defend such a silly point, you're just hurting your overall argument.

Well, you might find it silly. I doubt that Valle does. I think he's learning right now the consequences of putting things in writing. I'm not saying that adding disclaimers would have COMPLETELY protected him, but NOT having them is causing him a lot of problems he could have easily avoided.

Avoided, that is, if he hadn't ALSO illegally accessed women's personal information on official databases, you know, crimes and all, and used the information to stalk the same women he wrote murder plans about.

You talk about the only logical conclusion. Well, what shall we base that on? You say the plans were never carried out... I say he was, in fact, off to a good start with what he had done already. Where did he establish officially that the plans he wrote were just pretend? For a logical conclusion, Ralphus, you have to have SOMETHING to go on other than your own suppostion about the man's intent.

For MY supposition about the man's intent, I have his written plans. No disclaimers. Not one single statement in writing that mitigates against the things he said he was planning to do in writing. If I wanted to advocate FOR him, he has given me nothing to go on. I cannot logically make a case for his plans not being real because he didn't make such a case himself. Conversely, he has given the prosecution quite a bit to go on.

Do you guys remember the movie "Reservoir Dogs"? The storyline goes the cops knew this gang of dangerous thieves was going to rob a jewelry store because one of the thieves was an undercover cop but they had to wait until there actually was an act of robbery it to arrest them, which went horribly wrong.

My point is with the cannibal cop thing they didn't do any sting operation, no uncover cop lady gimp or anything to see if he was serious about torturing and killing women for they just arrested him and tried him on his use of the web to talk of his fantasies.

No one will ever know if he or anyone would have actually tortured and killed any women by what they talk about on the web. Just a another thought on this weird story. Bill K.

Bill K. I do like Reservoir Dogs :) Such a good movie.

I don't hold fantasies against people. I definitely don't want people holding my fantasies against me. I've ordered custom videos and therefore have shared my fantasies with a lot of the women I fantasize about. I'd be quite hurt if a model I liked called me a creep over a video I was suggesting.

The point I've been trying to make is that Valle's OTHER illegal actions, which are quite serious, take away a lot of the benefit of the doubt over his plans, and that those actions are directly connected with the plans he made, so I don't feel they can be nor should be separated.

Personally, I don't believe in thought crimes, only criminal behavior. Until we are able to read minds or live in the world of Minority Report, we must judge people's guilt by their actions alone. If the accusations against Gilberto Valle are true (and accurately portrayed by the media), he is guilty of at least one crime: unlawfully accessing a police database.

Unfortunately, Valle is also guilty of careless behavior, and carelessness often establishes the evidence that is needed to convict both the guilty and the innocent. By sharing his fantasies on DFN and by inadvertently exposing them to his wife, Valle appears to have disclosed intent. As Ralphus says, most likely these intentions are pure fantasy. But by making them public while simultaneously drawing attention to himself by way of an apparently related crime, Valle has left himself in a very vulnerable position indeed. The fact that he's a cop just adds to the mess he's in.

For those who believe this is a freedom of speech issue, think again. By analogy, consider the drunken prankster who announces he has a bomb in his suitcase as he boards his overseas flight. Now imagine the authorities discover he recently stole the carrier's maintenance procedures to examine the plane's schematics. Or what about the man who writes a letter threatening to assassinate the president - the same guy who illegally purchased a firearm the previous day? Would either of these offences be considered minor if no real harm was done - even if actual intent could not be proven?

If you have GIMP fantasies and keep them to yourself, no one can touch you. But once you reveal them to others, especially if you make them seem plausible and commit related criminal acts? well, that ice you're skating on just got a whole lot thinner.

#1--I don't recommend getting legal advice from the movies or television shows.

#2-Ralphus, I think everyone here would agree that nobody should be prosecuted for fantasy. Where the disagreement comes in is on where fantasy crosses the line into actions which may be a crime. But first, some thoughts about conspiracy. Federally, conspiracy is listed under Title 18, United States Code, Section 371. The elements of the offense (what the prosecutor needs to prove) are a) an agreement between two or more parties to b) commit an offense. An overt act to further the conspiracy must take place. So, right there, the law itself recognizes that people fantasize (the agreement to commit a crime), and that actual overt steps must be taken beyond mere fantasy.

Now, you may feel that the steps this police officer took were just to further the fantasy, but the steps he took were themselves illegal, adding weight to the idea that they weren't just part of the fantasy. He also did physical acts (apparent stalking) that appear to be more than mere fantasy. Note that the overt act in a conspiracy doesn't have to be illegal either, even if it is in this case. For example, suppose you and I agree to burn down a house for the insurance money. If I buy a can of gasoline and tell you it's for burning down the house, we're guilty of conspiracy, even if you yourself didn't buy the can of gasoline. At that point, your only escape is to say, whoa, I want out of this, to withdraw from the plot.

Another example: it's possible to be convicted of conspiracy to kill a dead man. Let's say you and I agree to kill someone named Joe Mama. You buy a gun, and I sneak into his house to shoot him in his study. I see the back of his head as he's sitting in the chair and I put a round into him...but 30 minutes earlier, Joe Mama had a heart attack and died, before I shot his corpse. So, you and I are not guilty of murder. But we are guilty of conspiracy. If we had a third co-conspirator who informed on us, we'd be guilty.

Anyway, I believe the disagreement here comes in on where to draw the line between fantasy and something more; most people would probably see that running databases and following people around does look like it's in furtherance of a crime and not mere fantasy. Quite frankly, if the defendant had testified in his own behalf, he might have been able to try to sell your point of view that it was just to further the fantasy, but I'm not convinced that many people would believe that.

I'll reverse it on you; suppose a religious fundamentalist was on a website saying that he wanted to kill you and you specifically. Other fundamentalists agree that you ought to die, and let's say that some of them have been known to assault liberal midgets in the past. Now, if that original fundamentalist gets your name by illegally running a police database, then begins following you around to learn your schedule, wouldn't you agree that perhaps he's crossed the line from the fantasy of killing our favorite midget to perhaps taking real steps?

I watched a movie some people may be interested in recently, called NF173. I say this because some people here seem to be interested in "interrogation themed movies" (which is not really my thing, but is somewhat interesting). Anyway, what actually got me interested in this film was not even that it was a "GIMP film", it was more that it was specifically banned by the BBFC, which described it thusly:

"NF713 takes the form of an extended sequence in which a man tortures a woman psychologically, physically and sexually. The woman is bound and restrained throughout and the man in question is in a position of absolute power and control over her."

That description, plus the next-to-no-info about it online (it never received a DVD release), intrigued me so I hunted it down.

The movie has two characters: the interrogator (China Hamilton) and the suspect (Niki Flynn). The crime she's charged with is distributing inflammatory anti-state literature in a police state...why she's even being interrogated is a puzzling question, as the authorities already know about her activity and her "co-conspirators". It becomes clear that the only purpose is to get her to confess, and this is done through a variety of ways, including electrocution, slapping, whipping, pouring hot water down her throat, etc, as well as psychological/sexual torture. Her interrogator asks her all sorts of degrading questions about her sex life, her boyfriend etc. It's actually the interrogator who really leaves an impression in this one, as the calm, slightly bored bureaucrat who knows exactly how to manipulate his victims. The interrogation scenes play out sequentially and are viewed as if you're watching them through a keyhole, with nothing to distract you from the two individuals who dominate the film.

I actually don't agree with the BBFC that this film was somehow intended to arouse the viewer. It's more of an art film. There's quite a bit of nudity in it, but its not very erotic. The actress is of average attractiveness and has an ugly haircut (which is part of the plot...the interrogator remarks that he's surprised that they didn't shave her bald when she came into the prison)...she doesn't really look like most women in bondage films. She mostly does spanking stuff which I guess is why I never have seen her in anything else. She's one of those women who genuinely likes abuse, though, in fact she wrote a whole book about it:

http://books.google.com/books/about/Dances_with_Werewolves.html?id=JJ0hTdGcrfkC

Seeing someone in a video like this who doesn't conform to the traditional look of an actress in a fetish video is somewhat interesting I guess. In any case, I give the film pluses for its repressive and unflinchingly bleak premise and execution, as well as the acting which is quite believable, especially on the part of the interrogator I thought. For those reasons I'd give it a B rating as a film. It's pretty grim, though.

Renzo Novatore: Thanks for alerting us about the BBFC-rejected movie NF173. That one picture reminded me of the movie Marathon Man, in which Dustin Hoffman is tortured by having one of his teeth drilled, dentist style. Except, you know, Hoffman wasn't naked, and he didn't have any breasts. Which is all good. I'd much rather see Niki Flynn tortured.

Following your link, I began reading about another movie that passed muster with the BBFC, entitled Antichrist. I was intrigued by the following:

"The film also contains some bloody and violent images, including a scene of genital mutilation. The Board knows of no research evidence which suggests that the viewing of this scene would raise a significant risk of harm to adult viewers or to society, or which would otherwise justify intervention. There is, therefore, no basis for an exception to the principle, repeatedly endorsed in public consultations, that adults should normally be free to choose what films to watch or not."

Words fail me.

It's also called "NF713", too, not "NF173". That was my bad.

yikyakker: yeah, there's nothing in NF713 that compares to the intense self-mutilation in "Antichrist". But, y'know, mixing sexual content with violence is a big no-no for the BBFC, which apparently thinks that combo is uniquely dangerous and subversive or something.

From what I understand, that was a consensual situation where one man advertised that he wanted to be eaten and another man obliged. That's totally different from the ridiculous charge they're trying to pin on the Cannibal Cop, claiming he was planning to go out and hunt down women and eat them. Apparently there's no verdict yet on the case, so the jury must be taking their time deliberating. Should be interesting to see what they end up deciding.

Renzo Novatore: Thanks very much for the fine review of NF713. Once again, this turns out to be the place to find about GIMP movies I never even knew existed.

I have to say I'm a bit turned off by Niki Flynn's short haircut, but it doesn't have to be a deal-breaker, since it sounds like the film is loaded with bondage and torture, and according to the article you linked, the torture scenes weren't faked. There's a lot there that I normally get into, like electroshock and hot water torture, so I'd definitely be up for checking it out. I'm also curious where you located a copy, since I wasn't able to find it on the net for either DVD nor download.

BTW, when I was looking for a buy link for your review, I came across this YouTube link. Now, I have no idea if the girl in this video is the same Niki Flynn that was in your movie, but it's amusing anyway.

The Associated Press story has appeared online. Assuming the story is accurate, it's clear this guy went well over the boundary from fantasy to reality:

Prosecutors countered that an analysis of Valle's computer found he was taking concrete steps to abduct his wife and at least five other women he knew. They said he looked up potential targets on a restricted law enforcement database, searched the Internet for how to knock someone out with chloroform, and showed up on the block of one woman after agreeing to kidnap her for $5,000 for a New Jersey man, now awaiting trial.

It may well be that he suffers from mental health issues. Whatever the case, he is no poster boy for free speech.

We have to be very careful with what we do and say, or results like this could ultimately happen. Vince Vance: I'm saddened because I don't feel this guy seriously intended to hurt anyone. He was living in a fantasy world and let it carry out into his normal life, but there's a big difference between fantasizing about something...even taking an extra step like printing out a list of potential "victims" to see how far he could go if he really wanted to...and truly acting upon it. And I'll ask you again, can you think of any REAL cases of women being attacked, tortured and eaten? Know of any real life cannibals? The answers are no and no, because it doesn't happen.

This is legend and fairy tale stuff, fodder for a horror movie. It's great entertainment that has about zero chance of happening in the real world. And with barely only circumstantial evidence, the majority of which was online fantasy talk between himself and other like-minded cannibalism fetishists, this guy is likely going to prison for life. It doesn't seem fair.

As for the daily pics, I usually like to tie in relevant pics with whatever the board is talking about. The past few days it's been the Cannibal Cop. Jeffrey Dahmer? Albert Fish? Ed Gein? There are over seven billion people on this planet, and I'm sure some of them are warped enough to take their cannibal-torture fantasies into reality. It's naive to think that any fantasy crime would never become a reality simply because it is so unimaginably repulsive.

As GIMP fetishists, we all are aware that our fantasies are taboo, and most of us do our best to hide our predilections from those who would not understand them. Even if Gilberto Valle had no intention of harming anyone else, his reckless behavior was like waving an unloaded AK-47 in Times Square and screaming Allahu Akbar at the top of his lungs. Nut-jobs of all stripes do exist - and if you choose to let others believe you are one, guilty or not, be prepared to face the consequences.

Jeffrey Dahmer? Preyed on men.

Albert Fish? Preyed on children. And we're going back nearly 100 years for him.

Ed Gein? Okay, there's one. The only one that I know of, and we still have to go back 60 years for that. He's the one they based Psycho and the Texas Chainsaw movies on. The reason they had to base the stories on him was because there really was nobody else. So in the last 100 years, we have exactly one instance of a man hunting down women to eat them. Out of 7 billion people, you'd think there would be a rash of rabid cannibals running around looking for women, wouldn't you? But there's not. And yet somehow they were so convinced this Gilberto Valle was going to be the next one that they convicted him. Despite the fact that pretty much all they had to go on was online chats.

Nut-jobs of all stripes do exist - and if you choose to let others believe you are one, guilty or not, be prepared to face the consequences.

Absolutely. And I can see why he was found guilty. He was taking a big chance going that extra step and he paid for it. I would not have convicted him of conspiracy to commit murder, and maybe I'm the only one here who feels that way. There's a lot of difference in my mind between a nut-job and a guy with dark fantasies.

Well, let's hope there is a difference. Count me among those who feel at least "troubled" by the whole conspiracy thing. Hell, I've recorded fantasies on this board about duct-taping Mandy Moore and committing atrocities against Lindsay Lohan, and those are just the ones my feeble mind can recall. Sure hope nothing bad really happens to these girls; the police may be coming after me.;)

It seems like there was enough evidence to convict this guy on his actual behavior - illegally accessing the database, stalking, etc.; asking the jury to convict him on the basis of what he might have done is a stretch. And I feel that the lurid cannibalism angle is just something for the media to play with.

One could fall back on such murky concepts as "logic" and "common sense" to try and connect the dots leading to much worse. But I'm reminded of the widespread perception in the Casey Anthony case, that "logic" and "common sense" would tell you she either killed her baby or knew who did it. In the end, there was not enough evidence directly linking her to the death of her child, and she was instead convicted of lesser crimes and released on the basis of time served. Lots of people were shocked, but the jury made the only decision they could based on the facts presented to them.

We don't have the benefit of seeing all of the evidence the jury had available in the Gilberto Valle case. I don't recall reading about any "expert" witnesses who testified about his state of mind one way or another. But if I were serving on that jury, I might have put up quite a lengthy argument against the conspiracy charge.

By the way, whatever happened to the two other guys who were thought to have been involved?

Hi Gimpers

Just wondered if there is anything of gimp value in the new Django Unchained. I read somewhere that Loredana Nusciak is sentenced to a flogging! Do we see anything, even her getting bound and stripped for it? Please guys, we need news on this one.

In an interview with Jeffrey Dahmer he said he kept body parts in the freezer to store them to get rid of later. He tried one time to cook and eat an arm part but it was awfully inedible which holds true that Dahmer was a killer of men but was not a cannibal.

What bad guys or good guys like Hannibal do after killing a gimp is meaningless to me in that a dead body, regardless of how sexy she is, is not erotic. Who cares if is she ended up cooked and eaten after she is dead? Now if she's being cooked alive, especially spit roast style, now that is erotic to me.

Also if there is torture and/or rape involved before gimp is killed and eaten the first part is erotically good.

Remember the movie "Soylent Green" where people were killed and made into crackers for people to eat? Also there was that movie where the live plane crash victims ate the dead. Good movies but not erotic at all! Live screaming gimps are erotically good. Once they're dead, they're not gimps any more. Bill K.

"he then shot her in the neck with a rifle while she sat with her back to him at a desk. At that point he began to carry out his plan of eating her. His first attempt to bite into her buttocks met with failure so he proceeded to go out shopping for a butcher knife."

Really not erotic at all. Now if he subdues her and bound and gagged her while she was awake and then bit into her buttocks that would get my attention or perhaps cut off piece of her buttock and cooked it while she watched.

Has there ever been a real gimp cannibal history of crime like that where the villains ate or and cooked and ate the gimp alive? All the history on cannibal murders I've read or seen said they killed the gimp first before cooking or eating her. Where is the fun in that?

There have been some movies, yes. "Quest For Fire" come to mind.

Now to to the Cannibal Cop thing I will never, said my disclaimer now, I would never harm a hair (maybe toast a pubic hair or 2, 3, 4...) on any lady for just a fantasy. Bill K.

Ralphus: You asked if we knew "of any real life cannibals". Dahmer, Fish and Gein all qualify. Even if some cannibals limit their preferred menu selections to a specific sex or age group, I doubt this makes much difference to those seeking to convict them. If you choose to eat people - or act as if you might eat people - whether you like to chow down on men, women or children, even those who deserve to be eaten, will be inconsequential. If the best defence you can offer is, "Golly, judge... this sort of thing has almost never happened before", it may be the last time you get to hear laughter before spending the rest of your life in stir.

How common is cannibalism today, particularly of women? I have no idea. But I would guess it is very, very rare - less frequent than shark attacks but more so than mass extinctions. Nonetheless, it obviously does happen. Another case - the lesser known Matej Curko murders - occurred in 2010 and involved mainly female victims.

And even if Gilberto Valle was the first man ever to act on a craving for female flesh (hard to believe) or a cannibal sex fantasy (harder to believe), he's no less guilty of being a potential threat to others. Conspiracy (or intent) to commit an offence may be harder to prove than the actual transgression, but most would agree it does warrant penance, even if no one has been previously convicted of the charge. Plan the crime - do the time.

As for preferred victims, this list suggests that about half of cannibal killers seem to prefer males. The rest are divided between those who like children, women and have no apparent favorite flavor. Surprisingly, out of the top twenty, two of the perps are female. And proving it's a small world after all, there's even one named Fritz.

Oh, am I making you cannibals hungry? How about going after the warrior putz who's taking up entirely too much room in the picture?

----------

I'm actually glad the 1970's fad of making cannibal movies is long gone. Now we have zombie movies. Zombies can't be considered cannibals, because they don't eat their own kind...right? Still, they are grotesque creatures and they're not erotic at all.

Okay, that's about enough of this real-life stuff. I don't mind it if we're talking about movies, but these are still real victims and I think we've taken this far enough. We deviated over to real-life discussions because of the Cannibal Cop case, the story of a guy who easily could have been a poster to a forum like ours. But it's over and done with. Back to talking about movies and bondage entertainment. I think we'll all be a bit relieved to get back to normal.

Badger wrote (about today's pic):

Ironically, the model in the pic never did nude bondage, or at least none that I ever saw. She was a cutie, though. Her name was Sally Roberts. I've seen her described as "America's Bondage Sweetheart". For a long time I stayed away from her stuff; in fact I was pissed when B&D Pleasures toned down their catalogue during the Reagan/Meese Report years and started carrying Sally Roberts videos instead of the harder stuff they used to sell.

Nonetheless, I really like that picture because it's excellent bondage. I love chair ties but you don't see them done properly in movies or even by many bondage producers. She's very securely tied; her wrists are bound to the chair, as are her elbows. Notice her legs are bent at the knees and her feet are also tied to the back of the chair. There's no way she'll ever wriggle out of that chair unless someone unties her. And I sure as hell wouldn't untie her, not until long after I was through using her every way possible.

Matt, you were correct, the model in the picture was a girl known as "A2" back in the early days of Insex (PD never allowed his models to use their real names). She was a pretty girl with no tats, and how often can you say that about an Insex model? Anybody know her real name and if she worked with any other bondage producers?

Re: Insex model A2 - she was an interesting case study, as I remember (it HAS been a long time ago) Insex was her first experience in bondage, and her boyfriend did not know or did not like her doing it. She requested that no "marks" be left on her after her sessions. She did one live show but I believe it was terminated early due to her reservations about the shoot - to my knowledge she didn't do any other bondage shoots. It was interesting to see PD work with the "new" girls and see how he brought them along, this was one of the occasions where it just didn't work out. I believe all the above information is accurate but if anyone has other details - such as later appearances on other sites, I would be interested to hear.

Falstaff: Thanks for the inside scoop on A2...interesting stuff. I imagine boyfriends put the kibosh on many a bondage career. I recall Steve Power complaining about meddling boyfriends to me via e-mail (and probably here on this forum). And think of all the really hot girls that worked for Rick that appeared in only one movie...like Jackilyn Lacross, Barbara Bayer and Brandi Dukes...makes you wonder why.

Obviously these girls were into bondage, maybe not as a lifestyle, but they definitely were interested enough to perform it on film. I don't know if it's a case of the boyfriends being jealous or not into the fetish themselves or just plain refusing to allow their "property" to do this sort of thing. Either way, it's too bad, because it's hard enough to find good talent willing to allow themselves to be tied up on film.

In the case of A2, I like her because most of her shoots involved breast bondage. Or maybe there were more and I only downloaded the breast bondage photo sets, I don't know. But she had a really nice body with bigger than average tits, no tats and a girl-next-door face. And she got to work with PD, one of the most skilled and innovative bondage producers in the industry. He knew how to put her to good use.

In my world, St. Patrick's Day means women in green uniforms. Here's my latest review.

Title: Lady Attackers from Hell 3: Abduction and Torture (JBD-160)

Starring: Maki Mizusawa, Tazuna Ichikawa and Azusa Nagasawa

Directed by: Kai

Running time: One hour and 40 minutes

This sequel to 2012's best film, Lady Attackers from Hell 2: Mission and BDSM, doesn't achieve the same level of greatness. Still, Lady Attackers from Hell 3: Abduction and Torture -- about two female soldiers who try to free some sex slaves -- has fine moments and is worth seeing.

The two soldiers -- Maki Mizusawa and Yu Kawakami -- are sent to rescue abducted young women imprisoned in a Slave Island-like operation, although only Maki gets inside the criminal hideout. Pretty Yu (the star of the previous film) doesn't have any GIMP scenes in this flick.

The movie begins with the sex-slave ring abducting two new victims: Tazuna Ichikawa and Azusa Nagasawa. Tazuna is nabbed by villains in a van while she is walking outside in the evening. Azusa is captured in an apartment. A villain punches Azusa in the gut, knocking her out, and carries Azusa away on his shoulder.

Inside the criminal operation, naked women are grouped together in cage cells, a la Bloodsucking Freaks. New arrivals Azusa and Tazuna -- now naked -- are each taken to their own cells and locked away like animals.

Three villains waste no time introducing Tazuna to her new career. Naked Tazuna, whose arms are bound behind her back by ropes, is marched into a room in a warehouse that has a number of wooden tables. She is laid down on her back on one of the tables. Two guys hold Tazuna in place while the third guy fondles the young captive's boobs, tweaks her nipples, and then sucks on Tazuna's huge melons.

As Tazuna remains pinned on the table, the rapist fingers and licks Tazuna's pussy. Tazuna is then forced to kneel on the floor and blow the rapist. The rapist grabs Tazuna's head for some rapid face-fucking. He also forces Tazuna take all of his dick in some serious deep-throat action, which makes sobbing Tazuna hack whenever her head is freed.

Two villains move Tazuna back onto the table and the rapist taps her in the missionary position. This scene is well done -- it's just too bad Tazuna isn't more attractive. She has great tits but her face isn't much to write about. She ain't necessarily ugly, but definitely disappointing for a Japanese porn star.

The villains bind Tazuna in a standing position, with her wrists tied in front to a wooden stake and her spread legs tied at the ankles to a wooden pole. Tazuna cries and wails as the rapist proceeds to nail her. The rapist finishes by cumming on Tazuna's ass, as Tazuna sobs.

Female soldier Maki arrives on the scene to rescue the sex slaves. And -- like any good JAV heroine -- she is quickly captured at gunpoint.

The villain forces Maki to strip off her gear until she's completely naked. The criminal grabs Maki by her hair and pushes her into a cell, shoving her down on the floor beside a kneeling Tazuna.

The movie's best scene comes next. Tazuna, Azusa and Maki are each bound arms over head to the ceiling. A villain arrives and turns each woman around, so that their butts are facing the camera. The villain proceeds to use a flogger on the ladies, gently touching each woman with the lashes a few times and then letting each lady have it with some harsh whippings.

The villain continues to toy with the women, alternating between gentle taps from the lashes followed by punishing cracks of the flogger, mostly to the victims' asses. The scene includes nice closeups of each woman yelping in pain. This is also the only GIMP scene for lovely and large-breasted Azusa (in the middle).

Once the floggings end, the villain completes the humiliation by fondling each of the ladies' stinging pink butts. This part includes closeups of each victim looking shattered.

Tazuna and Maki continue to be misused. The two naked ladies, with their arms firmly bound behind their backs by ropes, are marched by three men into another part of the warehouse and ordered to kneel on the floor. A villain walks behind Maki, grabs the top of Maki's head, and forces a nose clip up her nostrils. A string tied to the nose clip is tightly run along the top of Maki's head and tied to the ropes binding her arms.

In a moment inspired by the Cinemagic films, a villain grabs each lady's head and positions the women face to face, and then directs Tazuna to lick Maki's exposed nostrils. Maki squeals as her nostrils are tongued. However, due to some, uh -- "technical difficulties" -- there is no vidcap to illustrate this part.

The women are required to blow two of the villains. This includes some intense deep-throat moments. Maki, who still has the nose clip tugging at her nostrils, also has to lick her violator's balls.

Next, the two guys who got blown turn their backsides to the women and the ladies have to toss some salad. Maki, whose bound hands are clenched in fists, does a particularly great job grunting and squirming in disgust -- you almost believe she really doesn't like licking ass.

The action moves to a nearby couch. Tazuna, seated on the couch, gets fingered and has her pussy eaten by one guy, while Maki rides another guy seated on the couch. Maki is moved into a standing position and is fucked by one guy while another guy gets sucked.

A villain forces a clamp inside Tazuna's mouth and pries her mouth open. The villain runs a finger inside Tazuna's mouth, then moves Tazuna to a kneeling position on the floor and puts his dick in her mouth. Meanwhile, a villain fucks Maki against the couch. When the guy nailing Maki is ready to cum, he withdraws and goes over to Tazuna to shoot into her open mouth.

A second guy rapes Maki against the couch in a scene that includes some great closeups of pretty Maki's face as she is violated. When the villain is ready to pop, he also heads over to Tazuna and cums in her mouth.

The final scene of the movie gets into some electro-shock action. Tazuna and Maki are bound by ropes to some metal pipes. Tazuna is bound so that her arms and legs are spread, while Maki's arms are spread but her legs are tied together. A villain attaches electric cables to each woman's nipples. The villain cranks the dial on a control box to apply shocks to Tazuna and then to Maki.

The movie uses some sort of animation technique to enhance the violent shaking as the volts hit each screaming woman. In Tazuna's case, the shocks ultimately make her pee. The film ends with the two ladies passed out and a notice that the story is "to be continued" in Lady Attackers from Hell 4, which will include rape scenes featuring Yu and Azusa and some hot-wax tortures.

My grade: B

This film would have earned a higher grade if a more comely actress had been cast in Tazuna's role. Nonetheless, the movie has its moments -- especially the flogging scene -- and Maki Mizusawa's performance is particularly strong. It may not win many year-end awards but Lady Attackers from Hell 3: Abduction and Torture is still recommended viewing.

A Canadian: Very nice review, thanks. After we both picked Lady Attackers 2 as our best movie from last year, I've been curious about the sequel. All starts well as the bikini-clad beauties dispense with their scant clothing and soon things start to heat up. You've never seen a raft you'd like to be in more than this one as the girls tackle this tough acting assignment with real enthusiasm. The breeze may not be stiff out on these calm seas, but shortly after the filming begins one of the crew sure is. The girls are forced to take matters into their own hands and desire rages at sea as the girls work to satisfy their sexual appetites! After an exhausting voyage, the girls and crew toast success and head to shore.

How unfortunate for the girls that four "not so nice, and very hungry militiamen" have been doing a pre-screening of their latest lesbian flick from the concealing underbrush along the shore. The militiamen patiently observe from the underbrush as the film crew springs an obvious surprise on the sexy cast. A big green creature suddenly appears from the depths of the water, quickly boards the raft, and takes his time stripping, fondling, and enjoying the surprised and now frightened starlets as the camera rolls. They obviously were not informed that this was going to be a horror movie. When the creature is done sexually ravaging the sobbing young hotties, it simply slinks away. Now enter the "not so nice and very hungry militiamen" to take their turn.

The devious film crew is quickly dispatched by their marksman, and then the four militiamen are free to do absolutely anything they please with the defenseless girls...and they do. The bikini-clad girls are quickly marched off into the safety of the forest where there will be no witnesses. As you can probably guess, they are culled one-by-one, each sexy young victim helplessly struggling as she is brutally stripped and strangled to death while one or more militiamen enjoy her tender, young private places. Soon, all four girls are naked, motionless and wide-eyed under the very rough hands of their necro-killers, and it turns out that necro-sex is not the only thing on their minds. They've worked up quite an appetite. It's hard work strangling four frantically struggling young starlets and then having necro-sex with them, so BBQ is sounding pretty good right about now. They've got plenty of fresh, tender, quietly receptive meat, and lots of BBQ sauce. Let's just hope they remembered the beer!

Fetish elements: Lezbo sex, (HC) BJ, Rape, Orgasm, Necro, Necro sim X 1, Body Pile, Sea Monster, Limb Play, Body Moving, Struggling, Strangling x 4, Fucking while strangling, Body Pile, Intimate Body Views, Really hungry militiamen, Implied cannibalism (with BBQ Sauce).

THE CANNIBALS movie would be more erotically appealing to me if there was one damsel cooked alive. When a movie is called "the Cannibals" shouldn't there be at least one gimp cooked alive or eaten alive? I am not saying I think the movie is bad, good or great just a misleading name to me is all I'm saying. It's like implied rape or implied torture and a movie that's about rape and torture. Bill K.

Dr. Yuya, Ralphus and MaX CoXXX: Thanks for the feedback on my review of Lady Attackers from Hell 3.

As far as the electro-shock scene goes, I didn't think it was anything special. Then again, electro-shock scenes often don't do much for me, so it may be more helpful to hear the opinions of Ralphus and others.

I did really enjoy the electro-shock scene in the previous movie, Lady Attackers from Hell 2. But that was mostly because I thought Yu Kawakami did a tremendous job looking frightened as she was being connected to the cables. It was the build-up to the shocks, rather than the shocks themselves, that did it for me in that movie.

Eda: Thank-you for your latest story. I've sent you my detailed comments by e-mail, but I'm pleased to say here that I enjoyed The Body a great deal. It delivers a nice set-up as well as a satisfying and somewhat unexpected surprise at the conclusion. If Playing for Keeps was an experiment aimed at lightweight (i.e., death-averse) GIMPers, The Body should appeal to a broader spectrum of readers, both those who enjoy your traditional stories and others who prefer less extreme fare.

And since you asked for feedback, I've decided to give you some - not about your recent work, but a story I first read quite a while ago and one I have enjoyed several times since. Its title is Without a Trace. The following post is a bit long, but not that much longer than some of the video reviews found here - and for once, we'll have a detailed critique of a story to go along with all the film commentary. I doubt this will become a trend, but in my ongoing quest to promote GIMP fiction, it's the least I can do...

* * * * *

NOTE: Spoilers Ahead !! I wrote this for Eda, who obviously knows what happens in her own stories. If you'd rather not have major plot elements revealed in advance, read her story first! For Eda's stuff, that goes double - a lot of the fun involves the surprising twists she springs on the reader. On the other hand, if you'll only read the story if you already know all that happens, go ahead and spoil yourself.

- - -

You can probably guess that I found Without a Trace to be a very enjoyable read and certainly among your more episodic ones. Like most of your longer stories, this one plays out in a variety of locations, involves a large cast of characters and bears an ambitious plot - including an unexpected twist or two - set amidst a major political conflict. These elements are all to my liking, so it easily satisfied my personal desires, though I'm sure fans of your shorter material would not be impressed.

For me, the action scenes and fetish elements are just as important as they are for anyone else, but unlike many readers, I also need some context and background. Without a Trace comes through in this respect, and as a result, the story is much more involving and atmospheric than it would be in an abridged form. In fact, there is so much expository detail that at times I forgot I was reading an erotic fantasy. There is lots of sex and violence of course, but these elements blend in seamlessly with the rest of the narrative.

Things certainly get off to a fast start with the Taiwanese girls' safe house already under siege at the outset. We barely have time to meet the characters before four of them have fallen into the hands of the Chinese military and two have escaped. This first scene depicts the stripping of the captives, and Bao's rape and execution, but plays down the fetishistic aspects. It is not far removed from what might be written in a straight adventure tale. How many books or movies contain a scene in which the villains' evil nature is established early by the seemingly random sacrifice of an innocent character? What sets this otherwise conventional scene apart here is that all the jeopardized characters are female, they are all naked, and the ill-advised lie of one of them leads to the death of a blameless comrade.

These details add some needed punch to the introduction, but they do not seem gratuitous. Once the three remaining captives are carted off to the military compound, they are made to endure obligatory interrogation, and these chapters do play up the sexual brutality. The tortures suffered by the poor girls are suitably extreme and described in fervent detail. Yet the interrogation scenes are interspersed with a second story line when the narrative shifts to focus on Yi and Niu, the pair who escaped from the safe house.

They too find themselves imperiled, but at the hands of the Taiwanese rebels, supposedly their own side. This opens the door for yet another interrogation scene, and leads to a minor twist as Niu apparently is revealed to be a Chinese spy. Back at the compound, the girls have been broken and reveal the location of the second safe house. As the Major closes in to capture the rebels, the two plot lines almost intersect - but no, the story is not over yet. One step ahead of the military, the Taiwanese have fled the safe house, leaving Niu's mutilated body behind.

The initial twist is undone when it turns out Niu is not a Chinese agent after all, leading eventually to the revelations that Yi is not only the infiltrator, but also framed the hapless Niu. Of course this allows the story to extend even further as Yi becomes the central character. Once Hua, Kai-Ling and Zhen are shot (in a nicely done, erotic execution), Yi is the last surviving occupant of the first safe house, and also a traitor among the Taiwanese rebels. Somehow, we know she will come to a bad end.

By the time everything comes to a close, the narrative has successfully tied up the stories of all six girls. Moreover, the erotic fantasy elements are not just set-pieces here, they help drive the plot. Although it may have been sufficient to have only one rebel girl interrogated at the compound, the fact that three are tortured adds emphasis to the villainy of the Chinese military. After all, without some gratuitous elements the story could hardly deliver on its exploitative aspirations.

This is even more apparent in the epilogue. Usually, these codas reveal a final surprise, but in this case, not so. Instead, we are treated to a prolonged, very detailed account of Yi's excruciating persecution at the hands of the rebels. We already know the beautiful agent is dead, but only because her corpse is discovered in chapter 16. As with Niu, we are first left to imagine her ordeals based on the condition of her mangled cadaver. Though the epilogue does nothing to further the plot, describing Yi's punishment and her ultimate demise as the Major watches her recorded torture session brings Without a Trace to a very satisfying conclusion for those who appreciate the story's erotic content. Not only are we reassured that this treacherous character suffers a fate to match that of her own victim, but we are treated to a truly intense scene of sado-erotica. As a result, Without a Trace ends on a really high note... well, except maybe for Yi :-).

Ralphus: in today's picture with A2 how long did she have to stay tied up like that, for that's got to be extremely painful. Maybe A2 didn't need all that much persuading from her boyfriend to quit because she doesn't look she's enjoying her job at all. Anyways thank you for A2 posts.

MaX CoXXX: I am a girl in merciless fiery bats and or cooking peril fan and after the gimp is dead it's just not appealing to me what happens to the body and the movie is over. First about "The Cannibals", my review: a typical "porno-slasher", NOTHING GIMP worthy here; mAx Turn-Off for me.

To Bill K.

Yes, how long A2 had to hang like that, is the question. Simple bondage turns into a very effective torture after an hour, or two, or THREE! Even a "comfortable" pose, like being spread-eagle on one's back without being particularly stretched, becomes very "uncomfortable" after the first 12 hours or so.

Bill K: I have no idea how long PD kept A2 tied up in that position; I don't have the video from that shoot, only stills. If he was compassionate, which I hope he was, he shot the video and snapped the pics and got her out of there as soon as possible. There's no need to prolong her discomfort longer than necessary for a photo shoot unless he's a sadist.

Lynn is right in that any kinds of bondage hurts after a while; particularly a position as tight and stringent as the way he has her tied in those pics. That's one of the things I love about bondage; it keeps her from escaping and it becomes a torture in and of itself. That's why I favor tight, painful positions like hogties and strict chair ties with the wrists tied behind and the elbows bound together. Bondage should never be comfortable for the victim; we want her to be hurting, we want her to suffer, hopefully for hours on end. That's the fantasy that bondage filmmakers should strive for, even if it's all illusion. The great thing about pictures is you can see her tied up painfully, come back hours later and she's still in the same position. If you look at it that way, we've had poor A2 tied up on this forum for 4 straight days now!

I don't imagine Max gets a lot of BATS and spit-roasting requests. Part of the reason Maleficarum was special is because most production companies don't have the facilities to accommodate a giant rotisserie used for barbecuing a woman over open coals. Trust me, you can't buy one of those at Home Depot. Amy and the gang had to design it and have it manufactured for the movie and the whole sequence cost thousands of dollars to produce. I should know, I paid for that scene myself. Since Amy is reluctant to ever get up on the spit again, maybe she'll sell it to Max at a bargain rate.

Go buy extra loto tickets! Like rain off a ducks back. We can do really anything. Like Ralphus says, it's all about the $$$. Hollywood average 65 takes on a scene. We shoot for 1. We also use porn stars not actresses. I think what makes Red Feline so good is #1 Amy's acting #2 some unique methods to achieve a real look. John can pull off whatever. I can also do some pretty good effects.

Albert Lee: You may have uncovered something of a collective oversight. In my case, I've watched countless Japanese films, and reviewed and commented on many, but the movies I'm talking about are porn films rather than mainstream titles.

A mainstream Japanese movie that is one of my favorites is Zero Woman: Red Handcuffs, with Miki Sugimoto. I think the imdb.com review does a good job describing the details -- although, in my alternate universe, the key scene that disgusted the reviewer (the scene where Miki is brutalized and raped) looked terrific to me.

So I guess looking at the Japanese section of the movie reviews, one who is not "in the know" would find it difficult to distinguish the mainstream movies from the porn. I believe the following would accurately be defined as mainstream:

Captive Factory Girls
Captive Factory Girls 2
Chain Gang Girls
Journey to Japan
Nun Story
Robotrix
Sex and Fury
Wet and Rope

In fact, Robotrix is listed in the Mainstream section...but it is Japanese, is it not?

Can anyone else identify reviewed Japanese mainstream movies in the list?

And are there any Japanese mainstream movies that ought to be reviewed?

There are any number of reviews of Japanese movies that could be considered mainstream keeping in mind that by western standards that line is somewhat blurred when referring to the Japanese - so here's a few more I consider mainstream if for no other reason than the big budget in production.

Criminal Women Report 1 & 2

Sisters to be Sacrificed

Wife to be Sacrificed

Woman in the Box

Tokagawa

Shogun's Sadism

Joy of Torture

Flower and Snake

I'm sure I missed some other obvious choices but there's a few to ponder.

Stay well all

Another Japanese mainstream film you can add to the list is "Stop the Bitch Campaign 3" which I reviewed earlier here. This would certainly be considered a mainstream film by production and budget standards. And while Rio is not a mainstream actress in Japan, the whole series used porn actresses for the main roles.

I was actually sorry when Ralphus filed the movie in reviews he didn't file it under mainstream.

Speaking of Mainstream, "Chainsaw" starring the lovely Alexandra Daddario of "Bereavement" is going to be out in video in May. I know there is at least one good scene, because I've seen clips of Alexandra tied spread-arms AOH being menaced with a chainsaw with her shirt unbuttoned down the middle. It was a very good scene.

The other mainstream film we should be watching for is "Eden" starring Jammie Chung. This is a story about a girl caught up in a slavery ring. In the trailer they show Chung AOH receiving some type of torture. I have no idea how long or good the scene is.

What can I say? I agree with all you guys. It's not a perfect system. I certainly agree that clearly mainstream titles like Stop The Bitch Campaign 3, the Rapeman movies, even the Nikkatsu pinku films like Lady Moonflower and Shogun's Sadism that played in theatres are not quite the same thing as videos made by Cinemagic and Attackers. There was always the conflict about what category I would most likely look in to find a movie like that. Ultimately I decided to go with Japanese.

The thing is, they're both. They're Japanese and they're mainstream. We have separate categories in the Reviews section for Jess Franco and Christina Lindberg, for instance. Those same titles are also listed under Mainstream, and in the case of a few of Christina's films, also under Japanese.

So here's what I've done. On about 30 or so Japanese titles, I've also listed them under Mainstream. I think I got them all, but you can check and see if there's any I missed. The idea is to make things easier to find and to avoid confusion. And as before, you can always flip the section over to Alphabetical and search for any title under its actual title instead of wondering what category it's filed in.

I hope that solution works best for everybody. And thanks for all the feedback.

@elkcreek and others-I dont think the Eden AOH scenes for Jamie Cheung is much. One scene is an extreme closeup of just her face unfortunately as they apparently pour ice on her while she's in some kinda tub. The second scene would be awesome, but it's another closeup of her and another girl tied AOH briefly. In terms of Japanese movies, I have Flower and Snake, Flower and Snake II, Ecstasy of the Angels, Wife to be Sacrificed, and a short film called Imprint, that I really like. I also have all of the Fu Manchu movies, but of course, that's Christopher Lee pretending to be Asian (Chinoiserie?), and ridiculously campy, but sometimes have some GIMP in them.

I see there has been quite a bit of talk on here about customs, and I've received several emails about that as well since I confirmed that we do that. Cool!

Markee - Yes, post-production can take up a lot of time, more than we estimate. Why is that? We're always improving our post-production, which means more time and money. We depend on third parties a lot of the time. Once we edit the whole movie, a rough cut, 1st cut, 2nd cut, (etc.), then a final cut. After that we have a score created for the movie. So the 3rd party who does that takes the time they need, can't rush genius. While that's going on we do things like a sound mix, color correction. I mean, we could skip all that and not have a great movie, but I think it's worth the wait.

As MaX CoXXX mentioned, we shoot more than one take per shot. Many more. That's because we're making movies that go beyond what we were doing before. They receive reviews, go to film festivals and are shown in movie theaters. We generally shoot 3:1, that means we hope to get about 3 minutes of the movie (edited down from rushes) per day. I tend to increase that a bit because I'm a slave-driver and work people from sun-up 'till midnight every day. I doubt it's pleasant for the cast and crew, though. And it tends to drive up the budget. That's why we accept customs scenes for the feature movies, because a custom movie would cost the moon, and normally someone just wants a scene and it's cool if it's in a movie to boot, with a plot and dialogue and whatnot. Will us and other producers with similar content it's like the difference between An Almond Joy and a Mounds, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

Ralphus always seems to be goading me into doing another roasting scene... And I think enough time has passed where I would consider it. It wasn't so bad, was it??? *scratching head*. So I'll be hanging onto my rotisserie for now, sorry MaX. But if we ever had a garage sale, it would be epic.

I am planning a big, glorious BATS scene for my next movie, Olalla, if anyone wants to get in on that in the form of a custom scene.

So, speaking of Hollywood and its many takes, we seemed to have garnered some attention recently from Beverly Hills, in the form of reviews of all of our movies by a publication called the Beverly Hills Outlook. They review films, art shows, concerts, and theater performances. As of yet, I have not received a phone call from the Weinstein company to star in their next film, but it's really nice to be recognized by a mainstream publication.

The reviews are going to be published all year long, here are a few excerpts from the review of Barbazul by Charles Lonberger 10-06-13:

This Latinization of Bluebeard is the most successful adaptation of that fairy tale to the cinema to date, as, in it, cineaste Amy Hesketh subtly expands her thematics from her already established central concern of Control (of one being over another) to Complicity.

Hesketh primarily achieves this through her self-scripted treatment, which portrays the ironic tragedy of a man who, unable to control the compulsions that have taken control of him, seeks to assert control over others by murdering them. This concept is brought to life by the superlative interpretation of Jac Avila in the title role, which imbues a character often sketched as a mere villain with a melancholic countenance. This Bluebeard is haunted, a serial husband with a reusable engagement ring. Rather than simply be portraying a monster, Avila conveys the tragedy of someone who has "hit bottom," and whose sudden proposals mask an out of control control freak. But this understanding in no way minimizes the chilling way he identifies and probes for his victims, whom Hesketh depicts as generally being saved from bad situations, only to land in worse. She sketches Courtship as Ritual, with provocative truth paints marriage as an act of "buying someone," and uses the narrative mechanism of Discovery to link Eros, or sex, with Thantos, or death.

Her work as director is assured and accomplished, suggesting, in her concluding shot, that Bluebeard himself will be the final victim (...) Her vision is flavored with Sternbergian wit (Jane's request to "Just give me a minute" serves exactly the same purpose as Chang's observation that "I'll just be a minute" in Shanghai Express, a reference that reflects real cinematic intelligence, while gently poking fun of herself.). It is extremely intriguing to consider her choice of camera placement, when observing her omnipotent perspective of her own character's subjugation, something which suggests a creative displacement from self.

As the ill-fated Soledad, Mila Joya conveys an increasingly worried and vulnerable, if very womanly, victim, one who disobeys orders and pays the price, while, as her predecessor in death, Annabelle, Veronica Paintoux, identified by her parasol in visual shorthand, portrays death throes with disturbingly believable authenticity.

In briefer roles, as Maga, Paola Teran is quickly knifed and strangled once she puts her microphone down, while, as Agatha, Erika Saavedra gets her wish to "spend the rest of my life like this," without realizing just how brief that life will be. She finds bedroom bondage to be "exciting ("I like this!")" without realizing its purpose, after reaffirming the Mother and Whore dialectic within Western Culture by asking Barbazul if he prefers paintings of Huntresses or Virgins As Paul, the photographer, Erik Antoine is always irritated and difficult to please.

The most interesting role, an otherwise throwaway part, of Jane, is assumed by Hesketh herself. It is a self-portrait of the Artist as masochist, handcuffed and whipped, a fictional girl who wants to be hit "harder," one who ends up buried beneath dirt. The assignment of this role to herself is transparent.

Multi-dimensional, intelligent entertainment, Barbazul is distributed by Vermeerworks.

Ok, so I put more than just little excerpts, but hey, they were hard to edit down, the reviews are so nice.

Here's something of what Charles wrote about Le Marquis de La Croix, to be published 07-06-13:

This intense and focused Bolivian production, handsomely mounted by Amy Hesketh and Jac Avila with just the right visual accents and splashes of color for Decadent Cinema, is a master class in film direction, courtesy of Hesketh herself. Largely restricted to one set, a dungeon illuminated by candle lights, for its entire running time, Hesketh creates a universe out of it. Although her perspective is strictly third person, there is a psychic bond that involves the audience with what is, when all is said and done, an extended performance scene. Interestingly, through her blocking of her actors and dramatic compositional framing, she emphasizes the separate spheres her protagonists occupy in their shared experience, distancing them from each other rather than uniting them.

The central theme of Hesketh's own Spanish language script is the very heart of darkness, as it portrays "the hour of destruction," with one human being, an accused criminal and gypsy, sold to another to be "dominated, tortured and executed." In her script, Hesketh portrays murder as an ultimate erotic experience. This control of one person by another, previously portrayed more gently in Hesketh's earlier relationship drama, Sirwinakuy, is, at its core, brutal, though it is here introduced obliquely, with the Marquis assuming "responsibility" for the gypsy he has bought and, by so doing, saved from the guillotine. Very cleverly, but essentially, the script provides a context for specialized but enduring Fetishes, involving crucifixion and foot torture, to be showcased.

Hesketh's approach reimagines film acting as a form of performance art and is blessed by an exceptional cast in realizing this.

As the Marquis, Jac Avila himself clearly takes pride in his handiwork and, thus, convinces us that he does, indeed, "delight in what (he) is addicted" to. He "removes the veils of modesty" and...ahem, cranks it up, relishing his role for what it offers.

As his performance partner, Hesketh discovery Mila Joya, a sultry Hispanic with luxurious hair, is subjected to all manner of cruelties, both psychological and physical. Her eyes "beg for more" with supplicant silence, even as she bellows with blood-curdling, agonized screams before being broken.

Deeply disturbing and completely uncompromising in its central theme, this film, distributed by Vermeerworks, is impossible to forget.

As you might imagine, I'm very pleased. Charles also sent advances of reviews for Sirwińakuy, Martyr, and Maleficarum, but I don't want to clog up too much space here, so most likely Margot will expound on those later.

A Canadian: I didn't originally intend to continue the Stop the Bitch pics; I just ran them because Elkcreek mentioned the movie in his post yesterday. But I can certainly post more. I capped the hell out of it a while back when I added the film to the Hot Iron Database, so I have plenty more. Like 188 more. I really like that film and Rio is too hot.

BTW, I know Elkcreek won't mind; I spruced up his original review (Homepage URL) with caps, too.

Everybody getting excited about our 14th Anniversary coming up? One week away. Mark this on your calendar and start booking hotel reservations now. And the first 25 people to RSVP get to spend a night at the Ralphus Dungeon. BYOW. That means "Bring Your Own Whip".

Elkcreek probably also doesn't mind that Rio has done a bit more GIMPage since he wrote that review.

I hope we see more (other than raped teacher stuff) in the future -- although Rio's current company, Idea Pocket, is better known for its high-quality production values than for its GIMPage.

I can't say I'm surprised.

Bill K: We're still in our 13th year, the 14th anniversary will be on Friday. We'll find out then what Scribbler has in mind for "Celebrating 14 Years" banner. He started creating banners at the top of the site beginning back in our 4th year. By the 7th year, our banner was animated. Beginning in year 9, it was animation as part of a flash drive. The animations seem to get more and more elaborate every year.

Last year, Scribbler was discussing finding a way to archive the past banners. That would be a neat addition to the site if he ever did that. Everybody seems to enjoy what he comes up with every year.

Chas: Very cool find, thanks for sharing that. So someone tell me how this Ford ad campaign is supposedly "outrageously sexist" when one of the 3 campaigns also features men tied up? I mean, is it sexist when you've got equal opportunity bondage? BTW, make sure you click on the second link below the featured picture, with Paris Hilton in the front seat and the Kardashian sisters all tied up in the back. That was hilarious. And there's Ford apologizing, saying they "deeply regret" the ads. What a bunch of crap. They should be proud of those ads; using bondage imagery in a way that's eye-catching and funny. Makes me want to go out and buy a Ford right now.

Apparently in our culture it's perfectly okay to depict men being bound, slapped, whipped, tortured and kicked in the groin.

Ever see these new V-8 commercials? Used to be, a dude would slap his own forehead (or a woman would do the same to herself) and say, "Wow. I could've had a V-8!" (instead of whatever it is they are having). Now, the ads show a woman (wife, girlfriend) slapping a man's forehead. But they never show a man slapping a woman's forehead. It's all done in a humorous tone, but the point is, they are still afraid to reverse the genders of the slapper and slappee. One of the ads even has a baby slapping its dad's head. Sheesh.

And what's all this about "scantily clad" Kardashians? I thought that was how they always dressed.

It's turned out to a be lot of work, and to compound things, I keep finding new entries all the time. So far we've got over 100 movies and TV shows in the Hot Iron Database, all of which have to be capped, descriptions written, and in many cases, get video clips, too. Hello Gimpers, I'm a longtime reader of the forum, but it's been years since I've posted. The Night Prowler videos were the first ZFX work I saw, back in the early 90's, and I loved it instantly and sought out everything Rick did, looking forward to each new release and spending hours getting off on Alison Parish, Penelope Pace, Kelly McKay, and Lisa, naked bound and suffering. It's too bad that there's no one producing that kind of work today, what I see now just doesn't get it right, it doesn't have the sort of dark ambience that I'm looking for.

Take PKF Studios, for instance, it's like real life cases where a guy abducts a girl, rapes her once then strangles or shoots her, it just seems like a wasted opportunity, almost everything I see on the web now is a disappointment.

The other day I found a video online, started out great - a dark, creepy basement, an attractive woman, naked, wrists cuffed behind her back, a noose hanging down from an overhead beam, secured around her neck. The actress was selling the scene well, whimpering and looking suitably frightened, then the guy enters the scene and it all falls apart, he's got a naked and helpless girl that he can do ANYTHING to, and what does he do? He spends a ridiculous amount of time RUBBING HER WITH BABY OIL, wtf... this is eventually followed by what my be the lamest whipping scene in history, the dumb-fuck gently hitting her with a strap so lightly that it was laughable, and that was it, the show ends. I really wonder about some of the guys making these things. If only I had money, I'd hire my current favorite bondage babe, Iona Grace, for a shoot, pay her whatever she asks and really go to work on her. Guess I'll keep buying lottery tickets.

Years ago I had a girlfriend named Alice, I'll never forget the first time I watched a ZFX video with her, it was one with Alison Parish, bound and gagged and having her cunt electrocuted, Alice was amazed and fascinated by it, telling me that she had no idea that films like that existed. Later that night I tied Alice spread-eagle on the bed and gagged her, then I put The Suffering of Stephanie Renford in the VCR and fast forwarded it to the scene of Lisa being raped, I gripped Alice's head by the hair and kept her face turned toward the screen while I fucked her, all the while watching Lisa being raped, it was fantastic and was the beginning of my complete openness with Alice about my fantasies of abduction, torture and rape, which she accepted and was turned on by, allowing herself to be used to act out my fantasies. I miss all of that, sorry, I'm getting all nostalgic.

Anyway, as it is mostly guys who post to this forum, I'd like to ask about any experiences you've had with watching ZFX or other extreme videos with girlfriends or wives? What was their initial reaction to watching, or do you keep your interests secret? Just curious.

Ruben: I'm not familiar with the site you linked to, but it's obviously a bootleg operation. Nothing wrong with that, as long as the movie isn't available from any other source, and in the case of Poor Cecily, that's the only way you can get it. It's long out of print on VHS and has never been legally put on DVD. So wherever you get it from, it'll be a boot. I imagine some bootlegs are better than others. If you're not sure, ask the site if he'll send you a screen shot.

---------------------------

The Monk: Great post, thank you for taking the time to share with the forum. I think John Marshall at PKF generally does a good job of making realistic fantasy films, especially in the rape scenes. But I'm not so much into strangling or shooting, and that's mainly their focus, death scenes. Trying to find a suitable replacement for ZFX is tough, but they come the closest to what I like. The Japanese Attackers series had some incredible films back in the day, but for the most part, they've become pretty specialized and repetitive anymore.

But I'm with you...no one made the kind of bondage fantasies that rang my bell better than ZFX. I've seen all their films and bought several more a second time when they were upgraded to DVD. I'm like your girlfriend in one way that I also was amazed that films like that existed. The HOM Bondage Classics got me started on extreme bondage vids but Rick took things to a whole nother level. I was the perfect age to really enjoy what Rick was creating, and a new ZFX tape was an event, something to plan my life around.

Rick "got it" (and obviously still gets it) in that what people wanted to see was dark, realistic fantasies where girls are taken against their will and tortured and raped. And they took place in people's houses, not in some phony-looking dungeon where the participants are all wearing leather and bondage gear. And most importantly, none of the girls were "getting off" on their treatment...none of this consensual, "May I come?" shit that permeates the bondage industry today.

I can't say I was ever lucky enough to watch a ZFX film with my girlfriend, but I envy you for getting to live out your fantasies with a real girl. And the rape scene in Beyond Driven 3: The Sufferings of Stephanie Renford is one of the best rape scenes ZFX ever shot. Here's proof: I listed it as one of the Top 10 ZFX Bondage Rape Scenes Check out my post on January 2, 2007. You can find all kinds of cool stuff when you use the Search The GIMP function!

Nice rape list, Ralphus, several of my favorites included.

Like you, my first exposure to bondage (other than the mild bondage found on television and in mainstream films) came via HOM, this was in the early 80's, there were a couple of porn shops in my town that had booths in back and HOM film loops were occasionally among their offerings, I went through a lot of quarters whenever I found one that was unfamiliar, others I knew only from stills published in HOM magazines, it wasn't until some years later, when the loops were compiled on VHS that I was able to see many of them, but by then I had discovered ZFX and was eagerly grabbing each new release as they hit the shelves.

Night Prowler and Night Prowler 2 were the first ZFX vids I rented, together on the same day, which made for a fine double feature, and the Holly Weston rape scene in NP2 is still one of the best. Soon after, Lisa Kinkaid made her first appearance and instantly became my ideal rape fantasy captive, I still get off on that woman.

Rick Masters, wherever you are, come back to us, your genius is sorely missed.

Gimpers:

AMC has a new series 'Bates Motel' that I think no one here has mentioned yet. In the pilot Vera Famiga is handcuffed (only one hand) to a table she is bent over and raped from behind.

The previews of upcoming season looked promising as well, though I haven't watched episode 2 yet. The show is a prequel to Hitchcock's Psycho. A high concept ripe to suck, but the pilot was pretty good and the kid playing Norman Bates is pretty good in the part. It may fall apart, but the show looks interesting based on the pilot. We'll see how quickly it may fall apart!

So apparently the story about the Ford advertisements that were discussed here earlier have taken a new turn. The Huffington Post reports that the Kardashians are considering legal action over the ad depicting them bound and gagged in the back seat of the new Ford Figo, which I'm reposting here for the simple reason that it is both awesome and hilarious at the same time:

Hello, Kim, Kortney and whatever the fat one's name is, have you ever heard of Mad Magazine? Saturday Night Live? The People vs. Larry Flynt? You gals are public figures, fair game for satire. You're all publicity hounds anyway, you should be loving this. Or maybe you're upset because you haven't found a way to make money off the ad.

I dunno, I read story after story about these ads being so offensive. The whole purpose of advertising is to attract attention. Calvin Klein uses sexy images and they don't apologize. Maybe people feel uncomfortable about bondage, but it's obviously all in fun. It's not like the "victims" are crying or scared; if anything, they look sort of annoyed. And the ads are doing exactly what they should do, draw attention to their product. I had never heard of the Ford Figo, but if I'm looking for a vehicle that will easily fit 3 bound and gagged women in the back, I think I've found the right car. Time to trade in my Honda anyway. I can barely fit one victim in there now.

Thanks for the kind comments. Of course I am irreplaceable! LOL. In truth a lot of companies are doing good work and there are more companies than ever doing BDSM, hard bondage and beyond content. There are certainly many great producers who frequent these pages. Of course this old dog is still around lol. One of these days I am going to pick up a camera again. I think it's inevitable.

The 90's were a heady time for ZFX and I was producing at a frenetic pace for a lot of years on VHS. I really appreciate guys like you who supported the line back then and now. Those were very different times. I was very fortunate to be able to make these movies and have the great performers I have had over the years.

I'm happy you liked that scene from Beyond Driven 3. The scenes I shot with Lisa Kinkaid for Beyond Driven 2 and 3 were her first I think. She was really excellent in that bed scene. Lisa had good instincts of how to act in bondage even in this early performance.

As the anniversary approaches I would just like to say thanks for all you do on the site. Always a great source for much of the current related topics and a generally a good read. I will be back when the balloons go up and the party gets started. Thanks also to Scribbler, I look forward to your new animation title creation!

Thanks for the great comments and for watching the movies. It's people like you and Ralphus and all the other viewers who made it possible to produce. I'm glad I was able to help you and your lady have some fun and make something you enjoyed.

Ford Figo: I love it, nice job Ford. Funny thing is, they have another ad for the Figo with three male formula one racers tied up and there is 0 outcry. Clearly a double standard but not surprising. Personally I like Silvio Berlusconi's bevy of babes better though I have no idea who they are supposed to be. Just random hookers? I like it, too bad you can get a Ford Figo round here. The one, uh, chubby, ball gagged Kardasian looks kinda cranky. I would rather see Paris back there trussed up too lol. Oh well.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

On this date 14 years ago...

...this board was launched into cyberspace by The Gimp. It all started when he and I got into an interesting back and forth conversation, via newsgroup posts, after I posted one of my ZFX reviews on the newsgroup alt.sadistic. He thought it would be a good idea to make an entire site devoted to the discussion of ZFX and other extreme bondage videos. A few days later, March 29, 1999, this site was born.

And to celebrate, I'd like to debut something special on the site. It's The Hot Iron Database and it's BRAND new ("brand" new, get it? I'm so clever). It's the most complete database of hot iron scenes in movies and TV. Over 100 entries, over 1000 vidcaps, dozens of video clips...if you like hot iron scenes, you're going to love this database. If you don't love hot iron scenes, hey, we've still got plenty of other cool stuff here.

But the whole reason why this board has survived...and thrived...is the contributions from YOU, the people that visit here. We wouldn't have much of a site without our readers, the ones who post and add their opinions and reviews. I like to think of this site as a comfortable meeting place for like-minded individuals to discuss their love of such normally socially taboo subjects as rape, bondage and torture without the fear of scorn by others. Together, you've made this a great website, and a fun place to hang out every day.

So Happy Anniversary to all my fellow pervs and sick fucks for 14 excellent years!

The branding irons and red-hot pokers and pincers won't stay cool for long in that database, no doubt.

Many congratulations on the 14th anniversary of the site, and what more fitting way to celebrate than by the opening of the new Hot Iron Database - sure to be a burning success, sizzling with the sensual sights, sounds and maybe even scents of beautiful, smoking girl flesh.

Thanks to Ralphus and everyone else who puts in all the effort to keep our interest so sharply piqued.

A cool drink is in order - celebrate with champagne, wine, beer or whatever you like - just don't give any to the thirsty GIMP being branded over there in the new database.

Have a great Easter holiday everyone.

Congratulations on your 14th anniversary Ralphus! Your long-term dedication is truly impressive, and the Hot Iron Database is a wonder to behold.

I really like the stills plus video you provide for most of the entries and particularly enjoyed the scene with Bonnie Franklin (one of my favorite actors). I watched Man From U.N.C.L.E. when I was a kid, but I don't remember that episode!

Congratulations to Ralphus and the membership on the 14th anniversary of the forum.

I don't think I'll be a regular visitor to the Hot Iron Database but I do like the many enhancements we have seen over the years, including the Search the GIMP function, the GIMP Fiction section, and the video caps in reviews.

I'm also glad to see the little Ralphuses (Ralphi?) corrected their Roman numerals for 14.

Thanks to Ralphus for all his hard work keeping everything running smoothly. His level of commitment should be an inspiration for any of you who are into that whole work ethic thing.

Great job on everything Ralphus. My favorite torture hands down is whipping. Nothing else comes close. But the distant second is definitely hot iron. I went through all the descriptions on the new database, and did anyone notice how many times a branding followed a whipping? It's like chocolate and peanut butter! From what I remember the "GOR" books by John Norman contained a lot of branding scenes. Take care. Robert

The blue egg? Probably got something to do with Easter :)

-----------------------

carnyx asked:

Mmmmm...chocolate and peanut butter! But yeah, you're right. Either after a whipping or a racking. One thing I saw when I was building the database was how many of these same movies are also featured in our other databases. Not so much electro; that's more of a modern torture, but there's at least a few that are featured in 3 of the 4. Classic movies like Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS and Poor Cecily are a couple that come to mind right off the bat. There's probably more than that. You know it's a guaranteed GIMP-worthy movie if features 3 of the top 4 tortures.

From what I remember the "GOR" books by John Norman contained a lot of branding scenes.

And at least the first movie had a very good scene; they really drew it out and made it into a event. There were 2 Gor movies; I never saw the second; in, fact, I'm not even sure of the title. Anybody know if there was anything GIMP-worthy in the other film?

Wow! 14 years! Congratulations GIMP for lasting this long! Maybe one of the few erotic surviving sites from the late second millennium!

I remember being a youngling lol when I discovered internet porn in 1999.

And the GIMP was one of the many sites I found while I was still being a rookie on searching for porn on the web.

Now I am older and sadly have seen many old sites perish, but this one persists and stands strong.

Also, great for having a database on Hot Iron Branding scenes. I consider them quite rare despite they do happen on some films. Maybe because it is such a cruel punishment, it is hardly personified on the media.

Again, congratulations to Ralphus on this great community and hope many years and screams are more to come!

Ralphus: Congratulations on reaching the big one-four, and as always, thank-you for keeping the place humming along.

Great work on the hot iron database. When I voted for it during the poll, I never would have guessed it would actually come to fruition - let alone so quickly. As the DB is an anniversary present of sorts, I looked up the traditional materials (and the modern equivalents) to see whether iron was a match for 14 years. No such luck... it's the gift of choice for 8th year celebrations (modern list). Apparently, ivory is what is given on the 14th - but I suppose a database featuring GIMPs being beaten and gored with elephant tusks would have been a bit too short.

Today's Pic: Can't have a proper celebration without a swastika branding iron.

----------

Rick: I was not a poster here in the GIMP's early years so I missed out on the fun of experiencing the ZFX heyday. But given the way others have described your work in awed tones and majestic prose, it's clear that the GIMP cred of your films is firmly established. I've had opportunities to see a few of them by now, and I would like to take this opportunity to say that in terms of sci-fi GIMPage, the production values of your films have certainly raised the quality bar far above the kind of stuff that I used to watch (see pic below):

But seriously, great work and I hope to see more of it in the future.

----------

mike: I have also looked for The Torturer (2005), but the only place I have seen the uncensored version is at Amazon UK. It's in English but has Dutch subtitles, and it's a Region 2 DVD. Bummer. Unless you live in the UK. Or speak Dutch.

Anniversaries call for remembrances. Here's mine.

Because, in today's more liberated world, most modern adult females, I believe, prefer to be called "women" rather than "girls," when I found this site my first thought was that it should have been called "women" in merciless peril, rather than "girls."

Of course, it took just a second to understand why the site's founders had chosen "girls" over "women," and the reason was certainly not sexist. Had they chosen "women," in fact, I don't think the site would now be celebrating 14 years, as, instead of GIMPers, . . .

Congrats to the lil guy for 14 years of the GIMP website. I'm glad this is the "varsity" version of the brianspage site which is more frustrating now than anything.

Awesome addition to the GIMP databases with the Hot Iron Database. You need to add "Wizards of the Demon Sword", a Troma-flick I liked because it had a few AOH scenes, but it also has one quick AOH hot iron torture scene. Since I see you are also adding not only actual burning but threatened burning (great quality caps on SHE btw), I would also add an old 90s flick called "Invasion Force". I haven't found both scenes in my archives but will let you know when I do.

Here's a little history of the site. The first 4 years we were simply "Bring Out the Gimp", nothing else. The actual person who started this discussion forum called himself The Gimp and he's the one who came up with the name. It's from the film Pulp Fiction, and the line referred to a male sub, which to me, is totally contrary to the theme of the site. I always hated that name, but it wasn't my site; I didn't take over as moderator til 2 years later, and by then, we were fairly established under that moniker.

It was actually Scribbler who was fooling around with acronyms and came up with the "Girls In Merciless Peril" part, which we implemented in 2003. It's a much better name, and more accurately relates to what we're about. So give credit where it's due.

And here's even more trivia: the first person to use the term "GIMPer" was none other than Dan Hawke! I was pretty sure it was, and then I checked and confirmed it with the Search The GIMP feature. So he's the one responsible for introducing a new word into our lexicon.

--------------------

MAV: Man, I even have Wizards of the Demon Sword in my collection (on VHS) and I completely forgot it had a hot iron scene. Some of these scenes I haven't watched in 20 years and the mind grows fuzzy with age. I've never even heard of the other film. Thanks for the new entries, I'll try to get 'em added soon.

Yeah, that was a pretty hot scene for 1960's television, wasn't it? I wonder how controversial that was back then? This was back when you couldn't say the word "pregnant" or show Barbara Eden's navel on TV. So to show a gorgeous woman all staked out on the ground spread-eagled about to be branded must have caused an awful stir.

Bonanza aired another episode not long afterward dealing with witchcraft where the guest actress was about to be burned at the stake by the townspeople before Ben Cartwright arrives in time to save her. And for the longest time, you couldn't find that episode in syndication because the Hallmark Channel pulled it from the package and refused to air it. Today it's available on YouTube, but over 4 decades passed before today's audiences were allowed to see it again. Amazing, huh?

Well, here's another example of the value of this site (as if any more are needed):

This evening I watched TCM's airing of The Great Race which is now enshrined in the Hot Iron Database for a scene with Natalie Wood. Now this is a family movie; the scene is played for laughs. I saw it when I was a young lad, and have seen it periodically every time it aired on TV. I know this scene well.

The movie was reissued for DVD and has a few frilly enhancements. Apparently, in the process, they sanitized the hot iron scene even further than it already was.

Check out the series of seven images that Ralphus assembled for the database. Now remove the middle five images. That's essentially what was shown on TV. In other words, they have excised all traces of the briefly implied threat to Natalie Wood's character, including the terrific look on the actress' face when her character thinks she's the one who's going to get it.

Folks, this is a crime. It's a crime against everyone associated with this movie (which is one of my favorite movies of all time) but especially against the late Natalie Wood, whose facial expressions throughout this movie are a wonder to behold. But more to the point:

This site may be one of the few sources in the universe for pictorial evidence of what this scene was, and was meant to be. And to you censors out there who are responsible for this travesty, I say damn you - damn you all to a hell that exceeds Bill K.'s most vile, fiery vision of it. My eyes are so blinded with rage and tears that I struggled to compose this tirade.

Good readers, thank you for your indulgence.

Now, back to the celebration!

YikYakker: Wow, that's really hard to believe they would edit out Natalie Wood's hot iron scene, because it was such a mild scene to begin with. Plus it was really short, too. I didn't even bother to make a clip because it seemed like such a minor scene. There's really no excuse for TCM to censor it. Content-wise, it's probably the least objectionable scene in the database. They couldn't have cut it for time because it's maybe 30 seconds tops. So for them to arbitrarily chop that moment of the film is really disgraceful.

It's ironic because I just posted about how TV used to be so puritanical in the 1960s. 50 years have passed, we're into a new millennium and now we're censoring movies from the 1960s. Unbelievable. I would write them a letter of protest. Not that it'll do any good, but at least they'll know how you feel about it.

BTW, the caps I made were off the DVD, so at least the parties that be haven't edited that. I hate censorship.

That is a really long time. This site exists longer than my favourite celebrity forum. And on that forum I sometimes find some interesting scenes:

1. A bondage scene in the Hungarian movie "Szép napok" (2002) with Orsolya Tóth.

2. A spanking scene (with only 1 smack) in the German TV movie "Das unbezähmbare Herz" (2004) with Bettina Zimmermann.

I maybe post some caps in the next days.

Congratulations everyone, lurkers and posters, but especially posters cause you're the ones who keep it all going, 14 years worth of GIMP discussion from all around the world.

Thanks for acknowledging the celebrating graphic.

Ralphus mentioned I came up with the acronym for GIMP. Didn't really play around to come up with it, the idea just popped into my head one day while contemplating how annoyingly gay the original forum title was. No offense to gay people, just this is not a gay forum. We like girls! Girls in bondage, Girls in peril. I've no idea why 'merciless' popped into my head, and not other 'm' words, but it did. But yeah, it was a much needed fix. :)

I don't do all that much here anymore to be honest. It's mostly Ralphus now that he's grown into an html wiz. OK, he hasn't actually grown, may have even shrunk a little, but he's an html wiz. :)

I did roll a couple snowballs down the hill and it's interesting to watch them grow. The idea to add a story section simply based on an Eda and Amy back n forth. Of course, it's the writers that make that section work.

And the archives, which would be missing a lot of early months if I hadn't been regularly reading the forum, and downloading the pages as html files so I could convert them to black text/white background thus making them easier for me to read on my old CRT (tube) monitor. The Gimp, the forum's founder, had some pages saved, but not consistently.

This reminiscing is probably boring, so I'll just say to lightweight and heavyweight (Eda hates this term :) ) GIMPers alike: It's great that we can all get along. Sometimes argue, and then get along again! Cheers, and keep up the good discussions.
