Women in Cell Block 9 (1977)

aka Frauen für Zellenblock 9

Ooooooh yeah. A women’s prison. A tropical setting. Jess Franco, director. That means hot, sweaty, naked Eurobabes in peril.

The movie opens with a covered truck barreling down a narrow dirt road. The crates of bananas and vegetables in the back conceal a handful of young women. At a turn in the road, the warden of a women’s prison awaits. She is a middle-aged bitch with short hair and bad teeth. She is accompanied by a small army and Dr. Costa (Franco regular Howard Vernon), an unemployed interrogator who is eager to get back into the torture game.

Soldiers stop the truck, investigate, and pull the women out. The warden seizes three for suspicion of involvement with a rebel group. They’re cuffed inside the warden’s vehicle and taken away. The Warden tells the soldiers, “Do what you want with the others!” which means chasing them down, ripping their clothes and raping them in the jungle. Hey, that’s how anyone would’ve interpreted her orders, right?

So it’s off to the big house and into Cell Block 9 for our trio of lucky ladies. We see the guards take them in, then we hear screaming inside, and finally we see the result: the three are stripped and shackled to the ceiling by their necks (but not bound hand or foot) and have to spend the day and night in a standing position. They include buxom platinum-blonde Karine (Gambier), sweet little Barbara (Esther Studer) and “strong, silent type” Aida (Gouveia).

Meanwhile, college student Maria (cute Susan Hemingway) is already being held captive, chained by her neck with a cup of water juuust out of her reach. For entertainment, the warden has her brought to where she and Vernon are dining, and offers her something to drink in exchange for some muff-munching. After Maria finishes the job, Vernon gives her some heavily-salted champagne. Ack!

Barbara is first to be taken from the cell to be tortured. She’s chained to a wall by the neck and seated on a wooden saw horse that’s been “enhanced” with pointed metal sheets. She tries to support her weight by hanging onto the chain, but Costa responds by pushing down on her thighs to increase the pressure. Really great reactions from Esther Studer here, and her petite infrastructure reinforces her vulnerability.

Next, Aida is taken to a lab for a bit of electro-shock persuasion. She is cuffed to a slightly inclined table. The warden grills her while Costa turns up the juice – a little too much, unfortunately, because Aida soon starts quivering and foaming at the mouth. This scene is over too quickly IMO and may not satisfy electro fans.

Karine is then taken and handcuffed to the same table. Costa produces what looks like a rhino horn, fitted with a strap so it can be slid back and forth between Karine’s legs. She’s stubborn however, so for his next trick Costa pulls an underfed rodent out of a cage and sends it through a hollow metal tube on a path straight for Karine’s pussy. I like the way Costa dramatically explains to Karine just what he’s going to do to her, and throws in the fact that the famished rodent favors “dark, moist places.” Needless to say, the gnawing is not shown in explicit detail, but Karine’s reactions sell it.

They are all returned to Cell Block 9 and Maria joins them. Just when all seems hopeless for the quartet, they distract the guard by engaging in a lez grope-fest and inviting him to join in. (See, this is why you have to keep their hands tied behind their backs at all times).

They lose Aida in the escape attempt, so it’s now down to a trio again. Then it’s a race through the jungle naked in a desperate bid for freedom, with the warden, Costa and soldiers in pursuit. They even have to swim for their lives as they take evasive action against stock footage of crocodiles. I won’t give away the ending, except to say that the girls stay naked to the finale.

Movie pluses: The tortures are interesting and innovative. The villains are absolutely rotten to the core. The attractive babes get naked at the 13-minute mark and stay that way for their remaining screen time. They do a good job of making you feel the peril. And they are constantly moist or wet.

Movie minuses: Seems like nitpicking, but there is nothing here for fans of rope bondage or whipping. The rape and electro scenes are brief. And the movie never clears up the mystery of how Karine Gambier’s character manages to keep her pinned-back hairdo and pink lipstick intact through the whole ordeal. I would’ve preferred a more disheveled look.

Despite these drawbacks, this is one of Franco’s better offerings, and once again he delivers a lot of what GIMPers like to see: unclothed women in agony. My grade: B+.

As usual, there is more than one version around, none of them easy to find. Of course, the original VHS is the most faithful version, but pricey. There are also DVDs by VIP and JEF. JEF made some edits to the torture scenes. They removed graphic pussy shots of Gambier and Studer. While this is unfortunate, it is not inexplicable. What’s truly baffling is that JEF starts Aida’s electro scene right at the moment when she starts foaming, making that segment even shorter and less satisfying. (But then, JEF loses a lot of credibility by including pictures of women who are not in the movie on the DVD cover, and misspelling the title as WOMAN in Cell Block 9). Still, if you can’t find the better version, this one retains enough to make for good entertainment. But even this version is tough to locate. Exploited Cinema used to have the VIP version as part of an 8-disc Box Set, but are currently out of stock. Too bad, because I think every GIMPer should have the opportunity to see this classic.

But now I am in the market for a few good vids. John has done a fabulous job reviewing the Powershotz stuff. Delila (sp) looks very, very appealing. I also like that the rules look like they have loosened from the old ZFX days and we have real penetration, rape, etc.

So here is my question, and I know you guys will help: If I was to buy, say, five titles right now, what would they be? Here's the things I like:

Most of the Powershotz stuff John has reviewed (because of forced blowjobs, bondage, rape, control).

Sci-fi themes (aliens, mutated beasties, mad scientists, the old ZFX coreload, really).

What I DON'T like:

A lot of blood and gore,

lots of long torture scenes (whipping, electrocution, etc.),

I'm a perv who likes sexy and women controlled or forced, but not really bruised, beat up or otherwise mangled. I'd say call me weird, but...look at my company ;-).

Help me out, my brothers, give me five winners. I want to get some titles and put some cash in the hands of the peeps who make our lives better.

Iago: I've had two customs done by Caroline Branson that would be right up your alley. One of them is finished and I have it and it is awesome, called "Sold Into Slavery 2". I told her I would tell the Gimp board about it as soon as she was ready to release it for sale and she said she'd be releasing it soon, but she hasn't yet. You should definitely write her and ask about it.

(It's a sequel to her previous "Sold Into Slavery" but that video wasn't one of my customs. It's also pretty good, though.)

The other one, "Tiger by the Tail" is being edited right now. I haven't seen it yet. But if she does as amazing a job as she did on "SIS2", it will be absolutely amazing and also right up your alley.

Hazel is, in my opinion, both attractive and the most severely abused model in the Powershotz catalog. Since she shot with her boyfriend, her scenes generally featured his real cock fucking, gagging and sodomizing her, as well as being the roughest. Sadly, there is no awesome DVD-length Hazel movie filled with intense Hazel abuse. My favorite Hazel rape (in fact, my favorite Powershotz rape) is the last third of Forcing Function. Even though she is raped twice on the DVD, the first rape is not as harsh or spirited.

Hazel's outdoor rape on Caught Up and her schoolgirl rape on Gettin Done What Needs Gettin Done are both superior rapes, but only one of five scenes in the former case and only one of three in the latter case. Steve appeals to a range of tastes, and quite obviously tries to include something for everyone on each DVD. I want rough, forced bondage sex. The chase, abduction, whipping and humiliation bits don't necessarily detract from a DVD, but if it was wall-to-wall bondage rape, I would be ecstatic. Sadly, I am able to contain my enthusiasm.

If you like Heather Silk, her best (painful) sexual abuse scene is on Abducted and Objectified, which is a little over half of the DVD. However, Stimulus Package is all Heather Silk from start to finish and includes a lot of bondage rape with a real cock. The bondage sex never rises to the excessive roughness of the best Hazel scenes, but it is still good.

The Delila Darling rape included on V-Shaped Recovery, which I reviewed as a clip last week, is nice, but is the only rape scene on the DVD. The other model is Bailey, and nothing excessive happens to her. The latest Powershotz DVD, Second Day, features some excellent anal abuse of Delila Darling, during which she cries. Since she's not wearing waterproof mascara, the tears are wonderfully visible. After her anal rodding abuse she is sodomized with a plastic cock. The second feature on Second Day stars Bailey. She is subjected to a strenuous anal rodding abuse session, but the follow-up rape is a letdown. Bailey's pain and discomfort are obvious during the anal abuse, but not during the rape. A single all-Delila DVD combining her scenes from both of these DVDs would have been irresistible.

And finally, Dream Girls stars luscious Lexis Lane in an abduction and rape fantasy with her boyfriend, which means a real cock and some rough sex, although nothing approaching the harshness of Hazel's rough sex. Lexis shares the DVD with a Shelby feature, but if you like Lexis Lane and would like to see her raped and abused, this is your DVD.

So, as far as Powershotz DVDs featuring bondage rape and/or excessively rough sex and/or penetration abuse:
1. Hoosier Daddy
2. Forcing Function
3. Stimulus Package
4. Dream Girls
5. Second Day slightly edges out V-Shaped Recovery although an all-Delila DVD composed of her stuff on both of these would have rated as #3. Of course, a single DVD combining all of the Hazel rape scenes would have easily rated #2, and given Delila strong competition for #1.

That's when you 1) fire the prop department 2) hire someone who knows what the fuck they're doing (like us) and 3) buy a better one.

So are you saying that Sold in Slavery 2 is a continuation of the story in Sold in Slavery? So essentially, it's showing her actually being delivered to her new Middle Eastern owner?

The movie sounds like a lot of fun. Like you mentioned, a Franco women's prison is practically guaranteed to have naked women in peril. Besides the electroshock, some of the tortures sound pretty inventive, like the rodent up the snatch and giving a thirsty prisoner some heavily-salted champagne. Not quite as nasty as the Japanese movie that Canadian reviewed where she was forced to drink piss, but pretty cool nonetheless.

When I was uploading the pics for your review, I was struck by one of the images and wondered who the girl was. I didn't realize until I read your review that it was none other than Susan Hemingway, the beautiful young star of arguably Franco's best movie, Love Letters from a Portuguese Nun (lots of GIMPage in that one). I looked her up on the IMDB. She only made 7 movies and all 7 were with Jess Franco! Hey, at least she worked with a director who knew what to do with her. I would love to seek out her other 5 movies, but these 2 are the only ones I've even heard of.

Iago: Good to see you back here. Ironically, the stuff that's on your DISLIKE list is some of the stuff I dig, like the long torture scenes like whipping and electroshock. And I'm sure you've seen all the older ZFX stuff, so I may not be the best person to offer suggestions. But, I can second John Galt's recommendation of Hoosier Daddy. My DVD arrived and I just saw it last night. Even though I've been a somewhat vocal critic of Powershotz's work in the past, this is the first Powershotz movie I've seen since Mia's Abduction that I actually liked. I definitely wouldn't grade it as high as John did, but all in all, it was a pretty successful film for what it tried to accomplish.

The masked bad guy (Steve?) did a real nice job playing the lusty villain and coming up with great lines to taunt her with, and of course, Delila is beautiful and quite effective as the victim. And there were none of the typical Powershotz touches that usually mar his work; no split screen, no "Yes, masters"...this one had a true nonconsensual feeling from start to finish. Ironically, both this and Mia's were from custom scripts, which tells me that the storylines that fans request are probably closer to the stuff I want to see than what Steve shoots on his own.

I should note that I ordered the "alternate" version that features Delila being bludgeoned at the end. That part was poorly done but it only occurs in the final 30 seconds. This is opposed to the version that John reviewed where she wants to stay because she enjoyed her treatment (and that sounds even worse). But final scene aside, there's one movie for your list.

Can anybody else help Iago out? Surely you guys can come up with a few titles of bondage movies that you would recommend.

Ralphus: Like you, I did not realize that one of the connections between Franco’s Women in Cell Block 9 and Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun was Susan Hemingway. I’ve had my eye on LLPN for some time, but after seeing that pic you posted, I’m sold - I’m moving it up to the top of the list. And we don’t have a review of this? Well, that’s got to be rectified.

I thought all of the performances in WCB9 were pretty good – especially the two villains, Howard Vernon and what’s-her-name who played the warden. But Susan Hemingway was the one that really caught my attention. Cute, baby-faced, blue-eyed – so innocent-looking and yet kind of scrappy. She did a great job in the river scenes, too – she’s a fairly decent swimmer.

A Canadian: I'll get in line behind Ralphus in the wait for the DVD.

It would be great to have a nice, clean, complete version of this on a well-produced DVD. Unlike some other Franco films I’ve seen, this one has pretty good production values. Even the English dubbing is not bad, especially for the two villains. That’s particularly important because their lines just crackle with cold-heartedness and deserve good readings.

One of the things they did have to worry about was going over their slender budgets, and some of these classics show the ragged effects of parsimony. But some film-makers, including Franco, were able to find lovely ladies who did not have any reservations about appearing nude. And what some of them may have lacked in acting ability they made up for in verve, and being “comfortable in their own skin.”

My tastes tend to be similar to those of Ralphus and a few others on this board; but since you seem to favor Asian movies and have a penchant for sci-fi, I’d like to suggest Robotrix, reviewed here by none other than John Galt. If you haven’t seen it already…well, I think John’s description says it all. I’ll just say that it’s a fast-paced sci-fi thriller with beautiful babes and two outstanding rape scenes. Lots of fun.

I was also surprised, and not a little concerned, to see all of your downloads are RealPlayer format. However, your sample download clip looked pretty good. That was a smart thing to do, since I have many earlier RM/RAM clips that looked (and still look) abysmal, and initially that gave me pause.

Iago: Not sure why Powershotz doesn't offer DVD downloads except that the quality of the DVD product is higher and that might make for huge (multi-gigabyte) file sizes. It has never been a big concern for me since the majority of the individual "best bits" are available as downloadable clips and for me a cohesive storyline is a distant secondary consideration. It's possible Steve could produce another, lower-quality version of the DVD with a smaller file size specifically for download, but that takes time and might fail the cost-benefit analysis test. You could always e-mail and ask him if he doesn't reply on the forum. He answers e-mails quickly.

And I love the fact that you even took notice in the fact that I have been offering all our videos via download and it seems the participants here on GIMP are a more sophisticated than average group. That said, you might appreciate that when we first started offering downloadable product, there was a rumor circulating among adult producers that if you formatted in WMV that Microsoft would track you down and sue you for licensing fees. That's what drove so many producers to RM formatting. Either way, we've always gone for the most quality that doesn't get too large for reasonable downloading time. You might like the news that all of our newest videos are being offered in mp4 HD format with quality even better than DVD.

With regard to the scarves, although they make an appearance in all of our content, we generally find that people who don't share that fetish look right past them. We're proud that we were offering sex mixed with the bondage before almost anyone (including Kink) and that our videos have real storylines and production value. I know you guys prefer the male Dom style (and we've got tons of that) but we are a pretty unique FemDom producer too.

Anywho...it's nice to be a participant here and I'm very pleased my friend steered me here. I am going to try and get his video released soon since I know he's very proud of it (as are we). MAV: Thanks for the link. Trinity looked very cute, and I loved the anime pink wig. Also, coincidentally enough, I have that very same taser device, which is actually a wind-up LED flashlight. I'd love to do it myself, since this is my favorite Franco film, but I've got so many irons in the fire I don't know when I'll find the time. If you want to tackle it, be very careful in selecting which version you go with. I got burned when I ordered the British version several years ago, only to discover that the two best scenes with Hemingway had been severely edited to remove all the nudity during the sexual torture scenes. Undaunted, I bought another copy that has the film intact. I know you had the same problem when you reviewed Devil Hunter with Ursula Fellner and didn't get to see her bondage rape scene. Because of their subject matter, Franco's films are often out there in various cut versions, so you have to use caution in choosing the right DVDs. Censorship sucks.

I’ve only seen a grainy clip from this, and it shows Susan first engaging in a threesome with a guy and luscious Brigitte Lahaie. Later, while Susan’s sleeping, Brigitte and the guy grab her and chloroform her. An IMDb reviewer describes the story this way:

My only foray into the superheroine genre probably led me to the wrong movie, featuring Wonder Girl (Heroine Tobatsu). I was going to do a review of it but it fell way down on my list of priorities. Basically, it’s a long, non-stop slug-fest capped by a lame whipping scene and a doggie-style rape. Didn’t really thrill me, but one of the villains, a gigantic black fellow named Mr. Beast, seemed to enjoy himself immensely.

I've seen The Abducted (that you linked us to) but it was under the name Match.Dead (Match dot Dead) when I saw it. May have some appeal to some Gimpers (a AOH for example) but an overall lousy movie IMO.

It's about a serial killer who abducts women after viewing their profiles on an internet dating site. The movie centers on the one victim who appears in the trailer. What makes the movie so bad is that after abducting her, he, in his own way, tries to court her. In other words, even though she is at his mercy, he never attempts to......well, do anything with her. In his own twisted mind she's going to fall in love with him. And although you do hear stories every once and a while of kidnapping of the target of an obsession, the guy plays the serial killer/kidnapper is an alpha-male type. Not the type of character who you would think is going to be all wishy-washy in that way.

Plus theres parts that don't make any sense, like when at two different times people show up at his compound out in the desert with guns drawn. There is absolutely nothing to indicate to anyone to even look for her there.

No nudity. No sex. One fair scene where the victim his forced to have to stand on her toes (in tennis shoes) to keep from strangling. Not much here IMO.

Astro Zombies ….yet another miscarriage of justice for it's being snubbed by the Oscar committee.

YikYakker - Great review of "Women in Cell Block 9". I'm adding this along with "Je brûle de partout" and "Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun" to my list of Jess Franco films to buy.

All of these reviews of horror movies (thanks John Galt!) lately made me think of The Grand Guignol. It's quite possibly my biggest influence. I even lived around the corner from where the theatre used to be in Pigalle. Paula Maxa, a player in the Grand Guignol, according to statistics, was "murdered" over 10,000 times and raped about 3,000 times on stage. Rather inspiring for someone like me.

The current movement of Torture Porn has its roots in history. For anyone not familiar with the "Theatre of Cruelty", as it was also called, it was a theatre company started in 1897 (closed in 1962) that specialized in graphic horror plays. Often with nudity, rape, GIMP, all kinds of awful themes. I really wish it was still around. Sigh.

Iago: Although I've not seen as many bondage productions as others here, and this isn't a knock on the producers these days, but I can say I haven't seen anything recently that comes close to ZFX in terms of combining style, story-line, B-grade horror feel, and humor.

This might be a total long shot but have you seen the House of Gord? I think for this crowd, you either really like his stuff or it does nothing for you. I, for one, am really into his work, which focuses more on humiliating and objectifying his victims than pain, although there certainly is some present. His bondage contraptions are some of the most creative outside of cartoons and his victims are attractive and include many familiar faces in the bondage world. They are often encased in rubber suits, which might not appeal to those who prefer the totally naked look. Check out his site. If that sort of thing appeals to you, I would recommend his SBI (Special Bureau of Investigation) Trilogy, which I reviewed here.

Wednesday Harrington: A belated welcome to you, too. I wish you luck in the custody battle. Those are never pleasant. I also want to thank you for adding the word "poopyfuckfuck" to my vocabulary.

This video clip stars Caroline Branson and Peter Holmes in a hotel room rape scenario. We begin with Caroline getting off of an elevator, dressed for success (as a businesswoman), wearing sunglasses indoors, and carrying an overnight bag. Nice attention to detail. She walks into her room where a ski-mask wearing Peter attacks her from behind and immediately ball-gags her. There is half-hearted struggling.

Peter pulls her back into a sitting position on the foot of the bed and rope ties her wrists behind her back. He proceeds to grope her from behind, unzips her top and massages her full, black bra clad breasts, then kind of pulls them out of the bra. Next, he ties rope around her waist. Then, he ties her ankles and knees together with rope as well. All told, the intro, attack and bondage application takes up the first 7 minutes.

The camera goes mobile long enough to zoom in on Caroline's ball-gagged and sunglasses wearing face, shows us her breasts, still trapped in the black bra but pulled out enough for us to see her hard little nipples and pulls back to reveal her still fully clothed but tightly bound body.

At 8:15, Peter's mostly hard cock makes its debut as Peter straddles Caroline's bound upper body. He finally removes her damn sunglasses, pulls out the ball-gag and forces Caroline to suck his cock. Peter holds his hand under Caroline's head and uses a little force, but not enough, I didn't think. The forced blowjob goes for about a minute.

Peter then rolls Caroline over onto her stomach on the bed and ties her into a not-very-stringent hogtie. Caroline struggles in the hogtie as the camera goes mobile again to tour her bound but still clothed body, including a nice close-up of her ball-gagged face.

Peter releases Caroline's legs from the hogtie and roughly jerks her skirt up above her ass, eliciting a nice surprised yelp from the helpless Caroline. Then Peter straddles her legs and fucks Caroline from behind, with her legs still tied together, which isn't impossible but is kind of unsatisfying. Plus, the stationary camera is positioned in front of Caroline, which is good for her subtle reaction shots, but not very revelatory vis-a-vis sexual penetration.

So beginning at 13:30, Caroline is either fucked or sodomized, possibly for real but just as easily simulated. The action is moderately hard, and there's a great (but brief) bit where Peter pulls back on her scarf to choke her. Then he pulls out and comes on her ass, which is clearly visible from the secondary camera angle.

Caroline ends up face down on the bed whimpering as Peter walks out. Fade out.

The use of primarily stationary cameras dictated long views for most of the video clip, which gave the clip a static feel. Also, Caroline was completely dressed the entire time, with the exception of her breasts pulled out of her bra just enough to reveal her nipples. And the sunglasses being on for nearly half of the video didn't do anything for me, although I'm sure there is probably a bondage-and-sunglasses fan club out there somewhere. I also would have liked to see more force employed, especially during the rape.

On the plus side, the rope ties were good, even though the hogtie wasn't extreme. The attack and take-down were both passably realistic, with Caroline employing the requisite struggling-but-not-enough-to-get-away that characterizes these types of videos. Peter was a good assailant, thankfully not doing any of the lame time-killing things I see far too often in rape clips. The action moved forward at a good pace, spending just enough time on take-down, tying, blowjob, struggling in bondage and forced bondage sex.

I call this one a C. No nudity counts off. And no explicit sex counts off. I don't want to get all existential here, but really, if you're going to do X-rated stuff, it is a wasted opportunity to do it in such a way that the sex looks simulated. And there could have been more force, or Caroline could have acted like it hurt a hell of a lot more.

This 16-1/2 minute clip is available for download at the Bound Domination on-line store for $14.99. It is a RealVideo .RM file, and plays nicely in RealPlayer. However, there's a loud and annoying 2-3 second high-pitched tone at the beginning of the clip (along with a test pattern) that is jarring. Begin the clip with your sound turned down.

Satin Bedsheet Bondage (Bound Domination video clip)

This video clip stars Caroline Branson and Peter Holmes. Although there's a back story about Caroline being a model and Peter being a photographer who takes advantage of her, the clip wastes no time on that. We begin with Caroline in a silk chemise and black high heels, face down on a red-satin-bedspread covered king-size bed. Each of Caroline's wrists is tied separately to her ankles and she is ball-gagged.

Caroline struggles for three minutes, rolling around on the bed sort of trying to escape but mostly just giving us a nice show. Caroline has a dark tan, and did not tan in the nude, so her shapely ass is a nice contrasting white that calls attention to itself as it bounces around on the bed.

At the 3-minute mark, Peter walks in, already naked and with a hard cock, wearing a spooky white mask, which I thought was a nice touch. He taunts Caroline, then removes the ball-gag and forces her to suck his cock. He holds her head up by her hair and fucks her mouth, but there's no brutality behind his thrusting. Plus, he doesn't go all that deep. Caroline protests, but deep, back of the throat pounding accompanied by retching and watering eyes is not a feature of this forced oral session.

At 4:30, the ball-gag goes back in and Peter climbs onto the bed behind Caroline's bent but spread legs. Caroline, who is face-down (and ass up) makes anxious and nervous noises as Peter positions himself behind and on top of her, but there's no scream of pain or violation when he first penetrates her, nor at any time during the rape. And to add insult to injury, the single stationary camera angle lines up exactly with Caroline's high-heel shod foot to obstruct the view of the point where the business part of Peter is meeting the business part of Caroline, so there's nothing to see.

During the rape, Peter does move back and forth with some enthusiasm, and Caroline does rock forward with each thrust. Caroline also makes victim noises but nothing overly spirited. She closes her eyes and buries her face in the bed in a kind of humiliated denial way. Peter picks up her head and places his hand over her face, pulling back as the fucks her. I guess I would characterize it as a subtly forceful rape.

I think Peter pulls out in time to ejaculate on her ass, but the stationary camera does not move in for a close-up (naturally) and it is too far away to clearly see. The clip ends with Peter sitting back on the bed behind Caroline.

This was a pretty good video clip, although neither as explicit nor as harsh as I like. During Caroline's initial 3-minute struggle, the camera moves around, catching her at different angles. The chemise works its way up around her waist almost immediately, but the camera never reveals any intimate looks between Caroline's lovely legs. Nor does the chemise ever come off.

The stationary camera for the forced blowjob and rape sequence was positioned well, with the single but significant exception of its collusion with Caroline's foot to obstruct any view of sexual penetration. In fact, the sex could easily have been simulated since we never see anything suggesting otherwise. That was a bit disappointing.

Caroline makes an attractive victim. Peter makes a believable assailant. The scene was well-lighted and the sound was excellent. The clip was a RealVideo .RM file. which played well in RealPlayer but none of my other video players. But that's why I have RealPlayer. This clip gets a C+.

Seriously though, although basically all of our videos involve bondage and forced sex and I cannot even apologize for it not being more violent since we weren't ever trying to look that way. We've been together over 11 years now and making videos that entire time and our productions basically reflect our own tastes of rough and forced sex, as well as indulge Peter's personal affection for scarves, satin and silk. And we have gradually gotten somewhat more "rough" as time has passed, we are acutely aware that we don't approach anything resembling violent. Truthfully, I'd never even heard the term "Torture Porn" until I read the post here from Jane von Detlefson...which I was surprised by as an adult producer with over 200 videos to my credit. I can't even imagine us ever making something that would qualify for that term.

With regard to the stationary camera work, the two videos that Mr. Galt choose were unfortunately of that variety (with some handheld camera work done when Peter isn't in the shot), which we do when we are alone traveling out on the road. ALL of our full-length productions are heavily produced affairs with close-ups and professional camera operators capturing all the activity. And penetration is never simulated, but sometimes difficult (or impossible) to show when using a tripod. You get to see ALL the sexual close-ups in our full-length productions. And in the "Forced to Fuck" clip we actually do switch cameras at the very end to show Peter's money shot, although it is from a distance.

That said, our FemDom productions tend to be a little rougher since Peter is pretty "durable" (his word) and has encouraged me to be rougher with him to make things look more realistic....and I'm not getting rid of him Brutus, so you can forget it ;)

I know these types of films need the victim(s) to escape somehow, but it was waaaay too easy in this movie. Script writers these days appear to have no creative ideas for escape scenes so they take the easy way out, like loose ties.

I have the "X"-rated "French" (really not what you think) version of 99 Women, a Jess Franco film. If anyone wants me to review it, I'll watch it again and do so. It's at least good for a laugh because of the X-rated bits.

If you are open to suggestions -- and home invasions -- I propose "Forced Entry" starring Lisa Kinkaid and the very hot Jackilyn Lacrross in her only ZFX appearance. Just outstanding.

I am a big fan of Powershotz (although not a shill, no matter what ANYONE tells you), but I frequently point up editing or camera missteps in Steve's productions. It is what it is. Good to know that Bound Domination full-length productions are shot differently. It may be that a full-length production would be more representative of your style than the shorter video clips. But I am a pervert of limited financial means.

On the GIMP continuum, the clips I saw are on the softer side of center and my tastes are on the harder side of center. I am not a fan of torture porn, and as Brutus so ably explained, that designation refers more to long, bloody scenes of graphic disfigurement and dismemberment. As a genre, I think it is actually more extreme than our loosely defined GIMP genre and almost never includes a sexual component. Thus, it is generally mainstream, since it is more acceptable in America to torture, disfigure, dismember, and painfully kill people than it is to fuck people. Whatever.

Even so, your stuff definitely fits the GIMP forum, so please contribute and keep us all up to date.

If you like Lisa Kinkaid, you CANNOT do better than her Voodoo Dolls 1. Also, check out Vacum. She's good in all of her movies, but she has the most screen time in those. Another one that is very close to my balls is Beyond Driven #2. In that film, Lisa finds herself naked, bound in a strappado, wearing a very tight strap OTM gag, and getting whipped unto exhaustion.

Your review captures the essence of CB9 without mocking it, which is the easy route taken by most who critique the film. It's really just a stripped down WIP tale which focuses only on those elements we care about. In the first act, the girls (all strikingly beautiful) are captured and disrobed; in the second, they are each interrogated and tortured; in the third, they escape and are hunted down in the jungle, Dangerous Game style. The plot is as minimalist as it gets, but our hapless heroines are constantly in peril, almost always nude, and frequently bound and in pain. What more could anyone want?

I have not come across the edited JEF release you mention, but can verify that the VIP version has the pussy shots and apparently complete torture scenes. It matches both the English and French VHS copies, neither of which I have any more. That said, given the 78 minute running time and with some rather choppy edits along the way, I suspect even the VIP print is missing something. The ending, including Barbara's brutal beat-down and the outcome of the stand-off between Karine and the warden appear incomplete, though that may be due as much to Franco's rushed shooting as any deliberate bowdlerism.

By the way, the VIP DVD of CB9 is currently available for a reasonable $29.95 from Luminous Film and Video.

I've been addicted to Franco films since I first watched Greta in a theatre in 1978. I've probably seen about 40 of his flicks in total, and that isn't even a third of his output. For a comprehensive overview, try to find Obsession: The Films of Jess Franco on e-Bay. There is also the Glittering Images tome with more pictures and less data. I was lucky to get these books when they first came out. Now that they are OOP, the used prices are astronomical.

Jane von D: Great to see you crediting the Grand Guignol as one of your biggest influences. Although many may not be aware of it, the GG is probably the great grand-daddy of GIMP (excepting perhaps some classic exercises in depravity like Titus Andronicus). The first time I ever heard of it was also the first time I ever read about Bloodsucking Freaks (go Ralphus :-). That was at least 30 years ago while I was perusing one of those horror film compendiums in a local book store. I came across a reference to a film called The Incredible Torture Show.

TITS was described as one of the most depraved movies ever filmed (something which stuck in a part of my little brain) and it was said to be based on the Grand Guignol theatre of Paris (which stuck in the other part of my little brain). I followed up and discovered, as you all know, that TITS was Bloodsucking Freaks, and that the staged tortures in said movie were performed (though not for real) along the Pigalle, home of the world-famous Moulin Rouge.

The GG did indeed feature female victims (though more often males, unfortunately), and in the more risqué productions the girls were partially nude. Blood and gore FX were mandatory, and the more extreme the torture, the more the audience loved it. When I finally got to Paris in the late 1990s, I discovered I missed a 100^th anniversary re-enactment of a GG performance by two weeks. Major disappointment, that.

And now, thanks to YikYakker's link, I also have a nifty new piece of GIMP trivia to add to my collection: Alfred Binet, inventor of the first IQ test, collaborated on several Grand Guignol productions. Now that explains a lot of things.

Finally… I'd like to post some more reviews here, but given the wealth and variety of commentary already being written, I'm not sure what, if anything, folks want to read about. I was going to do some quick overviews of Gruesome Horror videos or other Nicheclips offerings, as there seemed to be some interest in these, but now I'm not sure much more needs to be said about them. I could also do more Teraz reviews (FK1 and FK3 perhaps). I've been making my way through a seemingly endless list of GIGA/Zen/Zeus titles from Japan, particularly the Heroine Tobatsu series from Akiba… any interest? And what about some classic titles? I can't believe no one has reviewed the Ilsa films or even Bloodsucking Freaks(!) for that matter. Are these just so well known that reviews no longer serve any purpose?

Anyway… let me know what, if anything, you'd like to see and I'll try to accommodate. At the moment, I have no idea what holds the most interest.

My former master Sardu and I based our "Theatre of the Macabre" performances on the Grand Guignol, except we took it a step further by actually torturing and killing live women on stage. Only problem was we kept running out of actresses. Still, good times. It was captured for posterity in that documentary they shot about us, Bloodsucking...something or other.

And of course, we'll never turn down a review of a Jess Franco film. Looking forward to it. I'll bet it will be better than hot mango chutney.

SOLD INTO SLAVERY 2 is a sequel. In its predecessor, she plays a sexy journalist who is paired with a sleazy, tricky man who gets her to do all the legwork while he steals the credit. She calls the paper to complain about him, and the editor may or may not have stopped making her work with him after that.... WE WILL NEVER KNOW.

Because Peter shows up at her apartment under the pretense of making amends, and he drugs her drink. He ties her spreadeagled to the bed, gags her, fucks her and jizzes all over her chest. She is not unconscious through this, just really groggy, and at the end she finally blacks out.

When she comes to, she is hogtied on her bed and gagged. She struggles and tries to get loose, cussing Peter out, but he comes in and makes her blow him. Then he re-gags her and chloroforms her, knocking her out again.

Now, at the very end of this movie, are some nice shots of the desert and some camels, and some mysterious Arabian music. She comes to again, and now she is collared and in chains, in a tent of some sort. She yells, "PETER, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" and the scene fades out.

So, after all that, can you blame me for wanting a sequel? I mean, the story was just getting started!!!

I had to have it made, because

1. She is SO my type. The hair, the eyes, the body, the voice, the poise... She truly meets my criteria.

2. As far as the scarves go, it is not the tying with scarves that I'm into, it is the gagging with scarves, because you can count on OTM's or cleave gags and I love those.

But, it is also something else. I have ALWAYS had a fetish for women who wear scarves around their necks in a certain way. Like all fetishes, it has to be just right or it either annoys me or does nothing for me. Caroline wears her scarves PERFECTLY. Before I found her site, I used to think no one would ever combine that style with bondage for me until I made my own videos. Then I found her site, through this very board, actually, and it truly was like a dream come true.

I had found KSSP of course, but that guy NEVER got the scarves right, and usually went way overboard wrapping the women's heads in scarves it didn't really seem to be about the bondage.

OK, so, onto my movie. SIS2. I loved SIS1, but it wasn't enough for me. I wanted to see what happened next. SOS 1 featured 2 long bondages, I usually want to see 4 or more for variety. So I wrote up a script with everything I wanted and they loved it. The rest is history.

It has a variety of bondages, with an Arabian motif. It was not shot with a tripod, their videographer did a fantastic job capturing the drama and the closeups and the overall tone of lust and domination/submission I was looking for. At the end, Caroline turns the tables on Peter and quite literally gets him in the end. That scene isn't really for us on this board, it was for them and for the story, and so I could see her in her vengeful hellcat role, and to have contrast. The story elements are very important to me.

My next video that she has shot for me hasn't been finished yet. The idea there was at first to do a mirror image/alternate reality type sequel. When you go to her site you notice that she has many videos where she is the abductor/rapist, and Peter is her victim. I wanted to take one of those videos and have it remade scene for scene, but with the tables turned. I was actually going to call it "Mirror: Held for Ransom 2".

I didn't end up doing it that way because I didn't HAVE any of those videos to go by. Also, if I bought one of those videos and found that it had 2 long scenes instead of 4 or more, I wouldn't mirror it scene for scene anyway.

So, what I went for instead was kind of a straight up sequel to all of her fem-dom movies all wrapped up into one. The gist of it is that Peter had been her victim, she had kidnapped and fucked him and humiliated him, and then let him go after the ransom was paid.

He is now obsessed with finding her, both sexually obsessed and obsessed with revenge. Does he want to keep her as his slave? Does he want to kill her? He doesn't know... He isn't going to know what will calm his lust and rage until he finds her and has her completely helpless, her life completely at his mercy.

And, that is exactly what happens. She is found and he kidnaps her and figures out what it is he wants to do with her.

That's the story. I can't wait until I get this video, and hopefully she makes it available soon after. Maybe she'll release them both at once...

But I've mentioned it before, and will again, the best movie she has available on her site is "Getting the Order". She and Sirena Scott are at a convention where they are trying to land an account with Peter, who is a buyer for a big company. They go to his hotel room and at first you guys would be like, what the hell am I watching? Because for like 5 minutes he and Caroline just sit on the couch and watch while Sirena holds up different silk scarves for him to see.

But just hang on, because then Sirena leaves them to work out some paperwork, and Peter starts getting grabby. He ties Caroline's wrists with a scarf, and she gets pissed and tells him to knock it off. It's a funny scene, because he fakes being apologetic and says, he's going to untie her immediately, but then pulls a nice cleave gag between her teeth and gags her nice and tight, and starts going after that vagina.

Sirena comes back and tries to cop some attitude until she sees Caroline tied up and gagged on the couch. Peter drags her in and ties and gags her too, and makes her watch while he forces Caroline to give him head and then he fucks her.

Next, he brings Caroline into the bedroom and hogties her on the bed and molests her for a while, then brings Sirena in and ties her down next to Caroline. Finally he rapes Caroline AGAIN while Sirena lays there helplessly. There is a really nice moment where he is on top of Caroline and just humping away while she looks up at him horrified, and he takes another scarf, puts it across her mouth OTM style, and leans forward on it with all his upper body weight, pressing her head down into the mattress while he's fucking her. The look in her eyes is priceless.

The movie ends with Caroline and Sirena bound AOH. Peter gropes them for a while and then leaves them to hang there, taping the order in an envelope to Caroline's tits.

A lot of the videos on her site, the earlier ones, I've never bought because either they avoided showing her face and then covered it with scarves, or she wears blonde or red curly wigs. I like her just as she is, and I am a Face man before I am even a tits or ass man, faces are the first and most important feature on a woman in my eyes. But GETTING THE ORDER is fantastic, like a good Natasha Flade release, and I recommend all on the site to check it out.

Honestly, though, I don't see much difference between a "review" and what you are posting about the Bound Domination movies you've seen and are recommending. It is a subtle distinction that escapes me. But thanks for the not-a-review of Getting the Order and Sold Into Slavery I before that.

Fritz: I still haven't seen Bloodsucking Freaks, shame on me. But I am aware of its setting being the Moulin Rouge, I lived right around the corner from that as well, since I was half a block from Place Pigalle. Fun neighborhood. I saw Titus Andronicus on stage, super bloody, and the movie Titus I rather liked. I always wanted to play Lavinia onstage. I always thought the Grand Guignol deserved a comeback. I'm pretty sure that Alfred Binet inventing the IQ test and his involvement in the Grand Guignol is inexorably linked.

Ralphus: I shall review 99 Women. But nothing is better than hot mango chutney. Feel the burn.

YikYakker: The two ZFX movies you must see are South of the Border 4, the best of the bunch, and Ballista 2. I would also recommend South of the Border 5, Voodoo Dolls 2 and Ballista 3.

As A Canadian has pointed out, Bloodsucking Freaks is a must see -- a true GIMP classic, and in its own way, an homage to the Grand Guignol.

And any woman game to attend Titus Andronicus is a girl after my own heart. I am impressed.

Which ZFX films are best depends on your other tastes. For example I never found buxom Penelope Pace attractive. My tastes run more to tight slender girls like Chandra Sweet, so her films are the ones I would recommend. But YMMV.

One thing I think we have all agreed here is that Lisa Kinkaid is awesome and her films are generally good. And when The Apartment came out we all seemed to praise it.

My two favorite ZFX films are "Forced Entry" and "The Apartment". They both are more movie-like and they each have settings in the home, which I like better than the action taking place in dungeons or warehouses.

I'm surprised Rick hasn't weighed in on the question which of his many films should be recommended first to a newbie.

German Wikipedia gives her year of birth as 1960. She'd have been 17 or 18 when she made Women in Cell Block 9 and Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun.

As for Eugénie, there are only two "official" Franco films by that name: the original 1970 version starring Soledad Miranda (Susann Korda), aka Eugénie De Sade (among others) and 1980's Eugénie, The Story of her Journey into Perversion, starring Katja Bienert. Soledad Miranda was killed in a car crash in 1970, shortly after completing the original Eugénie, so she could not possibly have been the heroine of a 1974 version unless it was cobbled together from earlier footage. IMDB does list it though, and also acknowledges that its star died four years before it was completed (!).

The commonly available DVD featuring Marie Liljedahl is actually a 1969 Franco film originally titled Die Jungfrau und die Pietsche in Germany and De Sade 70 in Spain. Liljedahl's character is called Eugénie, so I suppose this could be considered a pilot for the Soledad Miranda version, but given Franco's convoluted output, who the hell knows?

At some point, the Liljedahl film was renamed with the 1980 film's title, and more confusion set in. Why IMDB lists a 1974 Eugénie release which does not exist is beyond me.

If watching Franco films doesn't make your head explode, trying to track his output most certainly will :-).

I particularly liked the story about you chasing down the thief with a stick while completely naked and covered in blood. Would have loved to have seen that. And among the actors who inspired you...Steven Seagal? Okay, then.

I thought the guy who interviewed you did a good job. The only other questions I would have asked would be: A) Why do you love hot mango chutney so much? B) Would you consider doing a bondage scene where you are tied spreadeagled to a cross with your limbs outstretched, and someone were to rub hot mango chutney all over your naked body? And C) If hot mango chutney was a person, would you marry him?

John Galt: Regarding Susan Hemingway, I think the reason she looks so young is because she really was still a teenager when she made those 2 films for Franco in 1977. Her character was supposed to be 16 in Love Letters, but I've not found anything online that gives the actress' actual age. The IMBD (which is not always accurate) claims she was not yet 18 when the movie was made, which is the reason why British censors edited the DVD that I bought, removing the nudity from the sexual torture scenes. You can still buy the complete film from other sources, just the British version was truncated. And of course, this is hardly the first time that underage actresses have had nude scenes. Brooke Shields was naked in Pretty Baby, and she was like 11 years old! And before anyone even tries to bring it up, this does not make either film kiddie porn.

YikYakker: You really can't go wrong with nearly any ZFX film. Even the lesser titles usually have at least one or two good scenes that make them worthwhile. And his best films are classics of the bondage genre. Simply put, Rick Masters has created some of the greatest bondage films ever made. They will stand the test of time.

Some of my favorites are:

The Cheerleaders of Perilous U: Probably my favorite ZFX film, this is the ultimate cheerleader in distress movie, starring Chandra Sweet at her best and Bryan Dunhill in a memorable role as Ernie, the big nerd with a sadistic streak.

South of the Border 4: Atrocities: All 7 of the Mexican jailhouse themed South of the Border series are torture-fiffic, but this one is the best. And if you like Lisa Kinkaid, this is one of her best showcases.

Ballista 2: Ballista Vs. The Evil Dr. Menace: One of ZFX's most ambitious titles, with nearly everything thrown into the soup, including beating, suspension, electrical shock and even a sci-fi plant rape.

Video Pirates 2: Buried: Rick and Chandra Sweet torment an innocent girl by shooting a videotape to teach her thieving father-in-law a lesson. He dies before he gets to see what they do to her, but fortunately, we get to watch the whole thing.

The Reporter 2: Gangstarr: A lady reporter (played by busty babe Monica Moore) is tortured for information by an Italian crime family, led by Bryan Dunhill in another great performance. This one is a lot of fun, and Lisa Kinkaid gets the treatment, too.

Mincemeat Pie: One of these days I'm gonna get around to reviewing this one for the board. Penelope Pace is berated and tormented by a gang of Southern rednecks, featuring an all-star cast of ZFX's best villains, including Chandra as the sexy girlfriend.

Forced Entry: A simple home intrusion story of 2 hotties (Lisa Kinkaid and Jackilyn Lacross) who are attacked in their home by a silent, masked stranger. Lisa's spread-eagled bondage rape on her bed is a highlight.

There are so many other really good ZFX titles. Check the Reviews section for more; we have a lot of them covered.

Sold Into Slavery 1, I give a B+. What keeps it from getting an A are the fact that there are only two bondages (but they are long) and that she's not gagged in the final scene when she wakes up in the middle east.

Another problem with that movie was that when it is over it has an open ending that suggests one hell of a story to follow, so in the past people who saw it were tantalized with more action that they'd have to imagine... Of course Caroline, Peter and I took care of that problem by bringing the rest of the story to life.... :) One day you will all know what I mean, when she releases that video.

While I was researching Susan Hemingway and the Jess Franco movies in which she was featured, I found an interesting tidbit of info on a BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) website detailing why Women in Cellblock 9 was "rejected" in 2004 when Anchor Bay Entertainment UK submitted it for consideration. One of the reasons was the board's determination that "One of the lead actresses... was just over 16 at the time the film was made." Since the film was released in 1977, I supposed it is logical that it was shot in 1976. Even more curious was this statement:

The Board considered the option of cutting the work. However, the quantity of scenes involving eroticised sexual violence, combined with the indecent photographs of a person under 18, meant that cuts were not a viable option.

The BBFC also rejected the film Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun, but passed the video submitted by Anchor Bay with 6 minutes and 15 seconds cut. (Web page is here.)

That Jess Franco. He pushed all the limits.

First of all I want to thank you all who have been discussing me, but I insist that there be no bickering on my account. Remember...I have a Dominant side too and I'm not against pulling a "Mo" and clunking a couple of heads together (ala Curly and Larry). So how do you like that? A girl who knows (and clearly appreciates) "The Three Stooges"!!

Seriously, I've already confessed that although our style might be too mellow for some of the GIMP crowd, there is most certainly bondage, force and sex in ALL of our videos. Although we only have about 85 videos released and for sale, we have over 200 shot and "in the can" (including my good friend DHT's "Sold Into Slavery II" and his newest, VERY erotic production I am currently editing) so I would suspect there are at least a couple videos of mine that some of you will enjoy. So although picking favorite videos might be akin to choosing your favorite child, let me venture down the path of making a recommendation or two.

"THE ABDUCTION"

This was the absolute first video we ever shot and we are extremely fond of it to this day. It begins with a take-down scene of me in a parking garage and shows me in a variety of ties and gags.

--In the backseat after being abducted and then retied into a stricter hogtie mid-ride.

--Bound on the basement floor of my attacker with several adjustments to my situation.

--Bound standing with my arms overhead and top wide open where Peter (wearing the spooky white mask again) comes up from behind and rapes me.

--Tied very severely to a tree in the woods with my top basically missing.

--And finally, an over-the-shoulder carry to put me into a car trunk to be driven away.

From an "inside the business" point of view, you will STILL hear people tell you that sex mixed with bondage is "illegal", which is what we heard back in 1999 when we made that film. Yes...there ended up being sex in the movie because Peter got just stupid horny during the middle of filming decided at the line of scrimmage to just fuck me anyway...whether it ended up on film or not. Basically for the hell of it, we decided to leave it in and take our chances. It's funny that although we were among the first to try this, our stuff seems somewhat tame next to many productions today. The reason we produce the content we actually do is because Peter wished to purchase such content in the old VHS and adult magazine days and there was no such thing. So we choose to simply produce exactly the sort of content that he enjoys.

"GETTING THE ORDER"

I will not add to the wonderful review DHT has already given us here, but it is true that we love that video a lot and we think it has stood the test of time.

"SOLD INTO SLAVERY"

This one has also been more than adaquately described by DHT, so I'll save you further description here. What IS interesting is that this was a custom production, which DHT took to the next level with his sequel and not the original client. If you are fond of knock-out scenes (with drugged drinks in this case) this is an excellent film. We use a LOT of chloroform scenes in our movies, but oddly enough, it's usually at the request of fans/clients. We'd never thought much about it prior to making our videos.

"BOUNDER-CISE"

This was a custom video where I am working out to an aerobics video in a leotard and a ski-masked intruder sneaks into my apartment and grabs me.

There are an assortment of bondage scenes (couch, standing, bed) with plenty of forced oral and Peter raping me while I'm tied face down, spreadeagled on the bed at the end of the film. But lots of torment and good bondage.

"BREAKING IN THE NEW GIRL"

This was also a custom production and we got to work with a true bondage/fetish superstar in Emily Marilyn (or Molly Matthews if you prefer).

The story is simply that I am Peter's executive assistant and Emily plays the "new girl". We are supposed to be preparing Peter's big speech for a conference, but we instead slip into to playing with each others scarves and I even gag Emily with the one she had been wearing on her neck. Well, Peter returns to the hotel room to find us in this playful situation and the rest is history.

We both end up tied sitting down and Peter ends up roughly fucking my mouth while Emily is forced to sit there with her face inches away and watch.

Then we're both tied on the bed in various positions while Peter fucks my mouth again before pulling my panties aside to rape me while I use Emily as a pillow for my head as he violates me.

Finally, we're both tied in a standing position while Peter rapes me from behind and Emily uses her tied hands to comfort my face as I'm getting pounded. Altogether, a good time was had by all.

Now, that may not interest you all as much as a ZFX vid, but think of my review like a Playboy Magazine: if you don’t want to read it, you can always just enjoy the pictures.

Ralphus asked me to stop by and give some a recommendations as far as what ZFX movies to check out. It's really subjective, what may appeal to one person may go flat for another. The best thing is to look for an actress you find appealing and or a story scenario that works for your fantasies, be that ZFX or anything else.

That said, I will put out a few recommends for movies that haven't been mentioned and are somewhat obscure but still might have some appeal. I'm going to try to put some images in here, if this turns into a clusterfuck, hopefully it can get sorted out.

Robopimp:

I think it's is a very strong piece, particularly Lisa Kinkaids treatment at the hands of Zed Black. The scenes they did in that movie are extremely intense. This show is more brutal than the average ZFX film so if a small about of blood is a huge turn off, then this may not work for you. Zed is a pimp keeping his Ho's in line and there is a lot of slapping and punching going on as well as bondage and torment. While the last segment with Zed's robot side kick didn't do much for Ralphus, its a pretty small part of the movie. Bridgette Bayonne is also given a solid once over by Black.

Whiplash 4-The Whip-Shock Experiment:

Again Lisa and Zed have some very intense scenes. Lisa is tied down on an a exam table and grudge fucked, then brutally flogged while jizz dribbles out of her. She also endures an electro-shock and drug experiment which has her squirming and covered with sweat. Chandra Sweet and Pamela Price also appear.

Future Shock:

An angry drug dealer goes on the hunt for his stolen stash of designer sex drugs. This is an older movie has an early electro torture scene with Allison Parrish and Travis Lee. Victoria Vixxen gets bound and gagged, and her big jugs get a seriously abused. It's a very strong movie, at least for the time. Also features Courtney Bishop bound and shocked by Travis.

Bitter Sweet Persuasion:

A modern day ode to HOM's seminal Bitter Sweet Revenge, Suzie Sexton is really put though the ringer by a disgruntled employee. Kim Noble is also in this show and does some very nice work as she is stripped and whipped by Jesse Keddings and Travis Lee.

BSW is one of your best later titles, mainly because of the casting of wholesome blonde Suzi Sexton as the lead victim. All of the footage I kept in that movie was of Suzi being attacked, suspended, shocked, hung upside-down and whipped and finally raped. Don't miss this one.

Future Shock is one of my favorite older ZFX titles. It might have made my initial list I posted the other day but it's been so long since I've seen it. I really need to buy that on DVD so I can get a crisp new copy. Alison Parish's shock scene with Travis is great, so is Courtney Bishop's rape and my favorite of all was when you and Travis worked over Victoria Vixen with the clothespins. Man, that girl had some impressive tits.

Whiplash 4: Really nice shock scene with Lisa (playing a nurse...fetish alert!) as well as an outstanding anal rape followed by a whipping. My only beef was that the movie was too short, but there's lots of really good footage to recommend it.

While the last segment with Zed's robot sidekick didn't do much for Ralphus, it's a pretty small part of (Robopimp).

Actually, that was my favorite part of that movie -- proving once again that Ralphus and I are situated in different pockets of the GIMP universe.

One thing I noticed when I was hunting for links for YikYakker was that I couldn't find Ballista 3 on DVD anywhere. Is this a film that's been pulled from the market or something, or has it maybe just sold out? I thought it was curious, as I think most of the ZFX titles are still available on DVD.

aka Wet Rope Confession

Newlyweds Miki (lovely Yuki Nohira) and her husband are honeymooning at their hotel. Miki has just settled into her bath when three thugs break into the hotel room. They quickly tie up the husband and one of them bursts into the bathroom. One look at naked wet Miki and he knows what he wants. He charges into the tub, gags Miki with a towel, and starts humping her from behind. She manages to liberate her mouth and bites her attacker on the arm. Now he’s really mad. He lunges at her again and finishes the job while the other attackers force her husband to watch. This is a very intense, nasty scene, conducted with swift brutality and lots of splashing. Miki puts up a good fight but finally surrenders to exhaustion, pain and humiliation.

Afterward, Miki’s husband decides that his honor has been violated and he no longer wants her. (Guess it’s a cultural thing.) Miki packs her bag and despondently wanders along the oceanfront until she ends up on a seaside cliff. Before she can fling herself to certain death, she’s rescued by a priest, who says, “Get thee to a nunnery!” or the Japanese equivalent of that. So begins Miki’s life as a penguin.

Right away, Miki senses that things are not as she expected. Two of her roommates sneak a long hard roll from the dinner table and start to play hide-the-weenie with it. Then they scurry to the basement to finish their snogging session in private. Miki is shocked, but another roommate is amused. (I didn’t catch her name, but because she’s so uninhibited, I’ll refer to her as Sister Randi.) Randi grabs a candle and Miki and heads to the basement to view the show.

Now, there’s a freaky fellow living in the netherworld of the convent who is dressed in black like a priest. Obviously deranged, he’s assigned to menial tasks like serving dinner, shining shoes and cleaning porcelain bed pans. Don’t ask me why the two lascivious nuns chose to demonstrate their lesbian proclivities right in front of this guy’s cell. He gets riled up, pulls out a red whip and starts thrashing the lusty pair. One of them begs for mercy (or is she begging for more?), but the freak-in-black grabs her by the hair, attaches her wrists to a rope on a pulley, and hoists her AOH. This all looks pretty cool, but since I don’t understand the language, I’m not sure if the two nuns took part in all of this involuntarily. Maybe it’s better not to know.

We don’t get to see what happens next because the camera follows Miki, who has been observing nearby and immediately bolts from the scene. She runs to the chapel where she discovers a wounded gangster wearing shades and hiding out from the police. She takes pity on him, hides him in a storage room, and even extracts a bullet from his arm. (Wow - pretty, pious and talented.)

Next day, Randi discovers Miki tending to the healing gangster. Inexplicably, he immediately shags Randi right up against the wall as Miki watches and Randi enjoys. When Randi leaves the premises, a bit shaken but stirred, she is confronted by fellow sisters who wonder why she’s out of uniform. I don’t know what she told them but all eyes turn to Miki. Miki ends up tied to a cross, soaked with water (Get it? – Wet and Rope!) and whipped by Mr. Freak while the other nuns force Randi to watch. (Nuns weren't this cute when I went to Catholic school.)

Unfortunately, Miki doesn’t show much skin; she’s bound so tightly to the cross that she can’t move (thus, no writhing or squirming, but nice facial reactions and hair tossing) – and again with the red whip, which made me think of a giant strawberry Twizzler.

Then Mr. Freak takes a fancy to Miki’s knees and starts munching on them as she screams and moans. The priest (who rescued Miki and convinced her to enter this hell house in the first place) arrives on the scene and has Miki brought to his room to recover. Feigning interest in inspecting the bite marks on her legs, he swiftly works his way up through her bloomers and panties. Miki expresses horror as the camera abruptly cuts away. (There may be more to this scene - perhaps it was excised).

In Miki’s absence, Randi takes on the chore of tending to the gangster. She brings him food but he wants to know where Miki is. Randi’s reluctant to say, so he tears open her robe and gives her a few titty twisters to make her talk. This happens very quickly and unexpectedly; it’s a nice surprise.

The rest of the movie concerns a plan by the priest to raise money by turning the convent into a bordello for a group of business types. The customers lay their money down and don African masks (?). One of the customers gets picked at random for the privilege of giving reluctant participant Miki a poke from behind as she’s in (and then out of) a sheep outfit. That touches off a full-blown orgy involving everyone. There’s an ironic twist at the end, but no more GIMPage.

Movie plusses: Action-packed (but not explicit) opening rape scene, nice but brief AOH and an eye-popping nipple-squeezing event. A sprinkling of additional nudity and consensual sex. Convincing performances by all, especially cute and appealing Yuki Nohira.

Movie minuses: The whipping scenes were weaker than I prefer to see them. The red color of the whip was distracting, although it does show up well in the darkly-lit convent basement scenes. The overall tone of the movie was more often goofy than nasty, at least once you get past the opening rape scene. It may be unfair to compare this flick to Nun Story, but it certainly is a step down from that one, IMO.

Still, whether you’re just curious about Japanese nunsploitation movies, or you’re on a mission to see as many as you can, this one is worth a look. My grade: C+.

Ralphus: See, now today's Daily Picture is what I'm talking about. A nude crucifixion. The only way it might have been better is if it had been Jane von Detlefson. Some enterprising caricaturist out there needs to do Jane. Um, that is, do a caricature of Jane... nude... crucified... and, for a change, well-lit. Candle and needles are optional, but a nice touch. The gag is kind of a necessity, though. And those sissy manacles need to be replaced with spikes, which we all know is how Jane prefers it.

Anyone familiar with the "Girl In Captivity" series of movies from Japan? I see Asian Cult Cinema is advertising a movie called Girl In Captivity 2: Hitwoman in Chains to go along with the original film Girl In Captivity: Psycho Torture Chamber. Besides being smart enough to give their movies exploitive titles that appeal to pervs like us, the Japanese have also been known to deliver the goods, so naturally, I'm curious. Anybody have any info about either of these 2 films?

In any event, this latest news gives me an opportunity to revisit some of our favorite Lampoon covers, such as this one and this one.

As for ZFX, I haven't seen all the movies, and my recommendations would simply echo what others have put forward. (I must say that Cheerleaders of Perilous U is my favorite.)

Maybe I should’ve rephrased my question to read: Is there any ZFX movie you guys would recommend that I don’t see? ;-)

I can honestly say that I've never been totally disappointed with any ZFX film. Even the weaker entries are generally a cut above most other products out there for what I want. Rick made a good suggestion. ... look for an actress you find appealing and or a story scenario that works for your fantasies.

I prefer tight sleek bodies as opposed to oversized breasts, so my favorite ZFX actresses are Amy Van Allen and Chandra Sweet. I also like campy horror/sci-fi movies, so the Shockwave movies appeal to me.

If you are new to ZFX, you have a great road ahead.

That and your other suggestions, are good advice. Obviously, the extensive list of ZFX films is rather intimidating, so having a way to prioritize the selection process is important.

Postscript on ZFX: I decided to investigate their wares and was sent to Adult Video Universe. I looked at The Apartment and noticed it was available in VoD. However, when I clicked on that option, I was sent to an entirely different movie with the same title. I tried it again with South of the Border and the same thing happened. Which leads me to these questions:

~ Is Adult Video Universe aware of this problem?

~ Does ZFX actually have any of its products in VoD?

~ Is there anyplace else to get ZFX videos?

I was just intrigued at your comment about a friend having to watch a friend get raped/abused and having to watch.

A video Peter has wanted to make for YEARS is where we get a second male actor to play my boyfriend/husband and Peter is an attacker waiting at home/hotel room who ties up the husband at gunpoint and then rapes and ravishes the wife while making him watch...helplessly bound and gagged in a chair at the foot of the bed.

Does this concept seem interesting to anyone else?

This Jess Franco movie, also called Christina, Princess of Eroticism, sounded too good to be true. And it is not a complete and total disappointment, although it could have been a LOT better. The plot, in a nutshell, has Christina coming to an old mansion to hear the reading of the will of her father, only to be told that no one lives at the mansion. But when she goes there, she finds people occupying the place. Cue spooky music.

After we get past the typical Jess Franco introductory travelogue of random location shots, we are introduced to Christina, a very pretty Christine von Blanc. On her first night at the inn, she wakes from a fitful slumber and pads downstairs in a long-sleeved top and panties which are shear enough you can see her huge and dark 70's bush. She finds a female doctor downstairs and complains about it being hot. Hot and damp. Just so.

More travelogue and voice-over narration as we travel to the mansion. The dialog and voice-overs are excruciatingly lame. At the mansion, Christina is introduced to all the people who aren't living there, including Uncle Howard, played by the always creepy Howard Vernon. You may remember him from Women in Cellblock 9, where he played the creepy doctor who got off on torturing beautiful naked women. So I guess he's not all bad.

At about 17 minutes in, we see Christina sleeping nude on top of her bed, and she has a great body that is nicely lighted. The camera takes us on a slow tour from top to bottom and back again. She awakes, slips into a large shapeless gown, and has a bizarre confrontation with the mute Basilio, played by Jess Franco. She goes back to bed, wearing the nightgown.

Christina goes for a walk on the grounds and at the 24:30 minute mark encounters a lily pond that looks seriously stagnant to me, but inviting enough to her that she strips down and goes for a swim. Two dirty old men watch her, one in a hideous orange leisure suit and the other in a button-front sweater, both of which give dirty old men a bad name.

At 31:15, Christina bursts in on Carmence (Britt Nichols), who is trimming the pubic patch (although not very aggressively, based on the size of the thatch) of a blind chick (Anne Libert). Or she may have just been holding the scissors down there. They are red-tipped, indicating they were used to inflict the bleeding cut on the blind chick's left breast. Which, coincidentally, Carmence has been licking, because she is a sloppy licker and we see blood on her mouth, and which she commences to start licking again with Christina watching. Christina flees.

Christina wakes from sleep to the sound of dream voices and, wearing a long white linen gown, walks downstairs and sees herself laid out on the floor. Or she imagines it. She gasps and runs out into the grounds. Eventually she returns and faints and at 41:30, she ends up on top of her bed again naked, with Carmence watching her.

About 51:30, Christina is sleeping on top of her bed naked again. She wakes up and sees a porcelain dildo standing erect in the middle of her room. She slowly approaches it and then whacks it, "shattering the big ebony phallus," we are told by the blind gal who is just sitting there, who goes on to prophesy bad luck for hurting the phallus. If only that argument worked in Real Life..

At 54:00, the blind gal returns to her room and undresses when she is strangled to death for no apparent reason by Basilio, the mute guy. At 1:09:00, there is a ceremony in which a naked Christina is laid out on the floor with her feet together and her arms stretched out to the sides with candles spaced around her. Another naked gal mounts her and apparently stabs her. But it is a dream sequence.

She wakes up screaming. There is a confusing montage where she is chased by zombies who crawl up from under the leaves. The zombies looked vaguely familiar and at any moment I was expecting them to stop, clap, and start doing the Thriller dance. (Go ahead. Watch it yourself and tell me if you disagree.) They surround her! They reach for her! Then a 1970s Ann Wilson lookalike walks in and pokes her with a lit torch! Then she wakes up and faints (?)! The zombies lay her out on the floor (fully dressed in the white gown) surrounded by lit candles! Ann Wilson pours blood on her gown! The zombies are mesmerized! She ends up crazy!

Although there is copious nudity, including the delicious Christine von Blanc, and the overall tone of the movie is foreboding, there is very little GIMP. The blind chick with her breast bleeding as Clemence licks her blood, maybe. The blind chick getting strangled, definitely. Christina on the floor (dressed and naked) surrounded by candles in some sort of ceremony, maybe. The naked-on-the-floor Christina mounted by another naked chick and apparently stabbed, but you don't see anything, definitely. Lots of tease, no delivery. So this flick, typical Jess Franco in every way, gets a D for GIMP.

I can't find anywhere this is for sale, although my friend Howard might let you borrow the ratty VHS copy I watched but probably not. Amazon lists a newer version, also by Jess Franco (go figure), and starring different people. It does show up in IMDB, although under its non-English name.

You gotta realize that when you're as prolific as Franco is and you've made 200 movies, there's gonna be some stinkers in there and not all of them are going to be masterpieces. In fact, in Franco's case, a lot of them aren't even that good. He doesn't even like most of them himself.

Still, your average Franco movie will most likely have attractive women, that's a given. Even more likely they will be nude for a good percentage of the time. And, there's also going to be a good chance that something bad will happen to them, either tied up, raped and tortured somehow. That's what keeps me seeking out his stuff.

Interesting. I haven't seen Spread Eagle since it came out. Don't remember much about it at all. That was a lot of outdoor bondage, wasn't it? For the most part, Rick hasn't done a lot of bondage scenes outside. And the original Reporter only, and not the sequel? To me, the first movie was good but just a warm up for the far superior sequel, Gangstarr. Did you not like the sequel?

I actually saw both The Reporter 1 and The Reporter 2, and yes I didn't like part 2 all that much. It isn't easy for me to explain my reasons for not liking Gangstarr as much as the first movie. I think that the main reason why Gangstarr as you referred to it didn't earn a spot among my favorites is because the movie is divided up into essentially two scenes, one with each of two separate victims.

The first scene, the one with the Reporter victim from the first was pretty good and if I was to rate the movie based on that scene alone, it would get a B+. The second scene with the producer (I don't even remember if she was a producer though) seemed really tame to me. From what I remember, she spent practically the entire scene nearly fully clothed, bound to a chair, and struggling with not much else happening to her. Sorry, simple struggling in bondage does nothing for me and it is one of the most boring elements I have ever seen in a movie. The second scene gets a C-. Overall, the combined grade for both scenes would be a low D to a high F!

Besides, these days I don't think I am going to be watching much in the way of ZFX Titles or any B&D content from any producer. My tastes in GIMPage have shifted over the years from Bondage & Domination to JAV Rape. I still have a handful of B&D titles from producers like Bon-Vue Enterprises, Lyndon Distributors, and ZFX Productions in my collection. However, when I watch them, I usually find that they have no effect on me and often seem completely boring. I may get rid of them one of these days...

My masterworks, though, were combining Guilty 1 and 2, wherein if you switch two of Penelope Pace's scenes, then she does not get away in the end, and combining Seed and Viral Load so that Viral Load is actually a dream sequence in Seed, which also makes Penelope and Lisa each do equal time as doms and subs.

Sometimes I could not imagine why Rick put some scenes in the order he did. Mostly though, it was just a hell of a lot of fun. And was a lot easier and cheaper then you might think, because at the time Kerri Downs was running her online video rental club.

Besides, these days I don't think I am going to be watching much in the way of ZFX Titles or any B&D content from any producer. My tastes in GIMPage have shifted over the years from Bondage & Domination to JAV Rape.

I can believe that. I have a friend in Canada who's a huge fan of Attackers' Slave Island movies and the "slave" series that have followed (including some of the New Slave Island flicks that haven't done much for me). My friend says he's written off ZFX.

While I think some ZFX titles have stood the test of time, I do agree the production values in the Japanese films far surpass anything that's been produced in the U.S.

Having said that, I also maintain that Attackers movies aren't as edgy as they were a few years ago. I think the best movies were produced in the period from about 2005 to 2007.

John Galt: Thanks for another entertaining and informative review. I don't think I'll be watching A Virgin Among the Living Dead, in spite of its catchy title and my curiosity about the Thriller dance.

DHT: Pretty cool idea about making your own movies out of your ZFX tapes. I did that myself with Video Pirates 2, 3 and 4 in which I combined all the footage of Melisa Pope being worked over by Rick and Chandra Sweet. Of course, after I did that, Rick released a Video Pirates 5 with even more footage, but by then, I had already finished my compilation tape. The good news is that years later, Rick re-edited Video Pirates 2 so that now all the Melisa Pope scenes were in one movie. I guess he had the same idea.

If Canadian were making his own comps, I suspect it would be nothing but Lisa Kinkaid suffering indignity after indignity, and the entire show would run about 85 hours. Might have to use more than one DVD.

I suppose I could put some "best of" Lisa discs together, although I continue to hope that Rick will one day release such an obvious crowd-pleaser.

In general, I'm not a big fan of home-made compilation discs. Yes, I realize the technology exists to allow people to make quality discs, and I have put some of my own compilations together. But my preference is for full-length movies that stand up on their own. I prefer to have a collection of feature films rather than own a collection of clips.

I'm not sure what others think. Who knows, maybe there's a poll question (or at least a discussion topic) in there somewhere?

Duh…the simplest solutions are always right under your nose, aren’t they? I followed your advice and landed in the download store, which carries 142 of the 3 billion ZFX titles. Pretty good selection.

I’m interested in downloads because right now I have so many DVDs that if I get any more I may have to break down a wall or two to find space for them.

The Apartment and Cheerleaders of Perilous U. are two that I have my eye on, because they’ve been frequently mentioned on this forum. A few that seem to match themes that I like are Ballista (warrior/cop/spy babe) and 666 - Suffering Has a Number (ooo….Satanic cults).

But right now I feel like Homer Simpson in the Land of Chocolate. Fortunately the site offers preview pics so you can shop around and see what you like.

Speaking of ass-kicking chicks, has anyone seen the movie The Lost Empire? It features busty babes like Raven de la Croix and Angelique Pettyjohn and combines elements of women in prison/women gladiator films. A reviewer on IMDb has this to say:

Lost Empire follows a rogue styled police officer, well played by sexy Melanie Vincz, who searches for the killer of her cop brother. Teaming up with Melanie are mystic native Raven de la Croix, and badgirl rough-houser Angela Aames.

The buxom trio fly to an island camp run by the villainous Angus Scrimm. There they fight against the terrorists and get naked at every possible opportunity…seeing both Angela Aames and Raven de la Croix nude is a splendor to behold.

But I have two questions:

By all means, making the boyfriend watch is more common among the Russian and Asian flicks. It is a huge turn-on, as long as you give it some context, such as during a home invasion.

I don't think anyone's mentioned Kelly McKay yet... up in Ralphus's ZFX banner the girl with the red tape over her mouth is Kelly... She only did a few movies with Rick but she was always amazing. She is on the cover of Video Pirates 3 and 4, and they are two of his very best covers.

I'll try to get around to reviewing 99 Women soon. We're shooting a new production and I've only had time to lick my wounds.

The innkeeper watches Justine undress. Meanwhile, Juliette is fitting right in at the brothel. We have flashes of nudity from both Justine, Juliette, and a random whore. At the inn, the upstairs tenant tries to take advantage of Justine but she fights him off. No violence or nudity. The innkeeper, who was planning to use her to steal from the upstairs tenant, is upset and spanks Justine. She is framed for stealing anyway, and carried off to prison by a constabulary that values position and patronage over justice.

At the prison, Justine falls in with a murderess, and escapes with her. The murderess's cronies decide to rape Justine, but the murderess stops them. There is a nice lead-up as they surround her and cut at Justine's shirt, followed by a brief tussle, but ultimately no nudity or violence or rape. Justine flees. She meets the only nice guy in this whole movie, a painter, and willingly poses naked for him in a lovely nude scene. But the soldiers come looking for her and she flees again.

Juliette, meanwhile, hatches a plot to steal from the madame of the brothel, murders the madame, makes off with the money with a fellow prostitute, frolics naked in the river with her for a while before drowning her, and sets out to make her way in the world solo, searching for a rich older guy. There is quite a bit of Juliette nudity and a brief struggle between two naked babes during the drowning scene.

In her flight from the corrupt authorities (as if there are any other kind), Justine meets a marquis who is frolicking with his male lover. They take Justine to the Marquise de Bressac (Sylva Koscina), who employs Justine as a maid and they become good friends. We get some nice bare breast nudity from the marquise as she bathes, in case you're a Sylva Koscina fan. The marquis wants Justine to poison his wife, but Justine reveals his plan to the marquise. The marquise tries to poison her husband instead, but he switches wineglasses and enjoys some rough foreplay with her as he tells her she is dying. She briefly struggles but dies. Justine is framed for the poisoning. Who didn't see that coming? Justine is roped to a tree. She is branded with an "M" for "murderess" and released.

Justine goes to a monastery where four pious men, the "Brethren" (one of which is Franco favorite Howard Vernon) are indulging in all sorts of debauchery. However, since, like most Christians, Justine is blind to the evil done behind the veil of faith, she becomes their victim as well. In a confused jumble of an over-lighted and artistically unfocused montage, Justine is chained down and needles are stuck into her back, mostly in extreme close-up and out of focus, she is shackled AOH to a stone wall, and she is chained face down on a stone slab and something makes her scream. (We see nothing in addition to the standard low-level torture that would justify such a scream.) She is imprisoned in a cell with other semi-naked women, chained AOH.

The head Brethren (Jack Palance, in an over-the-top orgy of overacting that must be seen to be believed) decides it is Justine's fate to suffer, and has her brought, bound, into their sacrificial chamber. Justine is chained AOH, but still clothed, in the middle of the room. Jack Palance takes a torch in the shape of a cross and does something with it, although it looks like he's just lowering it in front of the bound and helpless Justine.

God apparently takes pity on Justine (better late than never, I suppose) and lightning strikes the monastery, allowing Justine to escape. She ends up back in Paris where she is taken in by the murderess, who has a stage show, and made to stand naked on stage. Her "M" brand is visible, so the French townspeople, acting in a very American fashion, decide that seeing her put to death would be more fun than watching her naked on stage. She flees, but the hypocritically self-righteous always seem to have the upper hand and she is captured. Suddenly the profligate Juliette, who has done well for herself, steps in and rescues her virtuous sister. Justine is reunited with the painter and lives a virtuous life under the protection of her sister's influential husband.

SUMMARY: First, we have several random naked women in chains and bondage and with blood applied in a manner suggesting torture. There's a spanking scene, but fully clothed. There's an attempted ravishment, also fully clothed. There's an attempted gang rape, with very good build-up and the use of a knife to cut away Justine's clothing, but it is aborted. There's a scene where a naked Juliette drowns her naked fellow whore and partner in crime, with some struggling. There's an exceptional bit where Justine is tied to a tree, her blouse torn open, and a red-hot brand applied between her tender young breasts. There is a montage of torture and bondage in the monastery that is generally out of focus and oddly lighted, and employing close-ups that are not as satisfying. And finally, several instances of AOH bondage featuring Justine and random women, more often than not nude.

Well, you know, Jess Franco and the Marquis de Sade's Justine, which I have read in both translation and illustrated novel form, but not in the original French. Sweet and innocent looking Romina Power, and costars Maria Rohm (a Franco favorite) and Sylva Koscina make for nice eye candy. And the DVD cover art is kind of exciting as well. I had high hopes.

This movie is not as explicit or violent as I was hoping, but delivers some GIMP. Romina Power looks very young and innocent, which made her tribulations more enjoyable. However, I will note that at no point in her adventure was it ever obvious that she was ever actually raped. A good, brutal rape would have made it much better. Even so, I give this a C-.

I can't say that I saw the entire movie from beginning to end, so I'm not sure if your grade of C- is necessarily what I would give it, but based on the one scene I kept for my highlights tape, it's definitely worthwhile. That scene is, of course, the awesome branding scene while she's tied to a tree. It's definitely a "Ralphus scene". You can't find a much cuter victim than Romina Power, although Franco wasn't pleased with her performance, comparing her to a window dummy. Hmmm...I'd say she did a good job being tortured, at least. I have yet to see a mannequin that could scream that well.

Our friend Hank Hobbs did some beautiful vidcaps from that movie. Beginning tonight, I'll start running some of them.

A Canadian: As for my preference for compilation disks as opposed to full-length movies that stand on their own, I understand both sides. But I have 108 compilation tapes, which has increased to 114 now that I make my own DVDs, so obviously, I like my fetish material in bite-sized chucks that are easy to access without taking an hour or so to watch a movie from beginning to end. A lot of times it's because there's just not time, and you want to see the "good stuff" when you have the urge, so to speak.

The movie John just reviewed is a good example. I don't think I'd want to watch a 90-minute movie when all I want to see is Romina Power tortured. A lot of movies don't have enough good footage to stand on their own, which is maybe why John gave the movie a C-, even though it has an A+ scene included in it. Better to make your own disc that has all the good stuff from other sources. Takes longer, but the final product will be a more worthwhile watch.

Caroline Branson: The Japanese have done a number of films based on a boyfriend/husband being forced to watch his girlfriend/wife being raped and tortured, often under such imaginative titles as Wife Raped in Front of Husband. Although such scenes really add layers of humiliation and sadism, I prefer the victims to be women, like sister-sister, college coeds, mother-daughter, etc. I like the idea of having a woman witness the agonies that await her as she struggles desperately in fear and futility to help her friend. And then, hopefully, going through the same ordeal.

I agree. But I'll only keep the full-length versions of mainstream films if they rank at least a B on their own. For the many others, I hack them to pieces, sort of like extracting gold from a pile of shit.

For videos with no story or those that start and end with interviews, like in the Kink.com sites and Insex, I've torn those apart and created dozens of compilation DVDs containing the scenes that really do it for me. Okay, I'm kidding of course, except that I really do hate this wave of vampire romantic fiction.

Vampires have always been my favorite supernatural creatures. They have the ability to hypnotize their victims into complete compliance. However, they frequently do not, choosing instead to take them by force. There is always penetration and violation involved, and always exchange of bodily fluids. They may start out in control of their desires but can easily get carried away and go too far.

They have superhuman strength, so vampire sex is very likely of the "hurts so good" variety. But, of course, they are dead. So a vampire phallus is a cold, hard shaft, rough and unyielding, thrusting deeply and harshly, leeching away heat from the inside of his victim, but never warming up. The only sensation of warmth derives from the same sort of friction that might be caused by a shaped steel dildo relentlessly sliding back and forth between swollen labia. The only lubrication comes from the moisture generated by the victim herself, whether flowing sex juices at the start or blood at the end. And vampire ejaculate would feel like a sudden injection of cold gel as it is pumped deep inside of an overheated vagina, a cold, dead substance filling her up and then oozing back out, never warming up but instead leaving her with a chill that penetrates into her soul.

Not that I've given it a lot of thought.

Jess Franco's Doriana Gray is a cinematic retelling of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, with typical Jess Franco modifications. The protagonist is a woman, Doriana, played by Franco muse Lina Romay. She is a nymphomaniacal lesbian sex vampire. The movie recounts her sexual appetites. She is mysteriously linked to a twin sister who is kept hidden away, so I thought perhaps some bondage might be involved.

There is a lot of 22-year-old Lina Romay nudity, including open-leg masturbation with finger sucking. (Insert KFC joke here.) When she isn't nude, Lina Romay is wearing a diaphanous (and completely see-through) pink gown. There is no point in this movie where Lina Romay is covered up.

So Doriana is visited by a former porn star (played by Peggy Markoff, who looks like she's been rode hard and put away wet) who wants a job and offers to "do anything" Doriana wants. This leads to X-rated carpet munching. The next day the porn star is discovered in the hotel elevator, dead, cause unknown. (Insert "going down" joke here.)

A journalist (Monica Swinn, who is not a young beauty, and I think looks vaguely masculine) interviews Doriana. They make out. Later, Doriana goes down on her manservant, Ziros. Still later, Ziros meets his girlfriend (a hot-looking blond Martine Stedil) at a hotel and engages in X-rated sex. Ziros leaves her splayed out on the bed, sleeping. Doriana appears and wakes her, and although she tells Doriana she is not into women, Doriana seduces her and we get another X-rated lesbian scene. The girl starts complaining that it hurts, and Ziros runs back into the room and holds her down, hand gagging her, while Doriana oral sexes her to death. It ends with the life force of the girl dripping out of Doriana's mouth like sex juice, or something.

While Doriana is inflicting the Muff Dive of Death, we see Doriana's twin sister (Lina Romay again, of course) flailing around, clawing at her fully exposed crotch, apparently feeling the fatal orgasm remotely. (If you've ever wondered what Lina Romay's vagina looks like, including long, lingering close-ups of her clitoris, this is your movie.)

Doriana has an X-rated sex encounter with Ziros, during which her sister writhes around in bed, remotely experiencing it all. Sadly for Ziros, Doriana ends up with not only a mouthful of his semen but also his life force. Ziros has been fellated to death.

The journalist is sleeping nude on top of her bed covers. Doriana walks in. The journalist has been expecting her. More X-rated lesbian sex, culminating in the journalist being eaten-out to death.

Meanwhile, at the clinic where Doriana's twin sister is being kept, the female nurse who looks after her finally succumbs to the sister's sexual entreaties and there's more X-rated lesbian sex. Doriana's sister does not suck the life force from her sex partners, and has really intense orgasms.

Finally, Doriana visits her sister, goes down on her, and gives her a fatal orgasm, killing her. And now Doriana can feel her own orgasms, and promptly masturbates herself to death.

Honestly, this had potential, most apparent in the scene where Ziros roughly holds down his girlfriend and hand gags her while Doriana sucks her to death. A few more scenes where the pretty female victim figures it out and needs to be held down, or even tied down, for fatal sex would have been awesome. But, no. As an X-rated Lina Romay sex movie, this rates a good solid B+. You practically got to see inside of her. But as a GIMP vehicle, it had only the one nice, 4-minute-long (!) scene with Ziros' girlfriend, so it is a C- at best. (Forced sex that ends in death, even if it is lesbian sex, is one of my favorite things.)

The IMDB lists this movie as Die Marquise von Sade. It is available from an Amazon.com partner for a ridiculous $49.95. It is Out of Stock at Xploited Cinema.

Bloody Moon (1981)

This Jess Franco flick involves a language school full of pretty girls and a masked killer. Sounds like a winning combination.

The movie begins at a pool party where the partiers are wearing masks. The disfigured guy (Miguel) might or might not be the guy who steals the mask of a well-known Lothario and picks up a loose chick who thinks it's the hot guy. She takes the masked guy back to her room (Bungalow 13) and he starts to get rough, so she tears off the mask and fights him. He grabs a pair of scissors and stabs her to death.

Flash to a sanatorium where Dr Jess Franco is releasing Miguel into the care of his sister, Manuela (Nadja Gerganoff). She is taking him home after his convalescence following "that incident." They return to the language school. We are introduced to a bevy of attractive students, including Angela (Olivia Pascal), Inga (Jasmin Losensky), Eva (Ann-Beate Engelke) and Laura (Corinna Drews). Angela is staying in Bungalow 13. And it turns out Miguel and Manuela have an incest thing going.

Eva visits Angela in Bungalow 13 and gets stabbed in the back, with the blade skewering her nipple and poking out through her naked breast.

Inga goes for a ride with someone (wearing a mask) to an abandoned rock quarry, where she thinks she's in for some kinky Spanish sex. She lets him rope tie her ankles together, then rope tie her down onto a stone slab (fully clothed), then turn on a rock saw and we watch as the conveyor moves her closer and closer until it slices off her head.

Laura goes for a walk at night after Angela has told her someone is trying to kill her and gets strangled with a pair of metal tongs in a lackluster murder scene. Angela finds Inga's head in her bed, Eva's plastic-bagged and skewered body behind her curtain, and Laura's dead body hanging from her porch ceiling. She freaks. The movie concludes in a bloody orgy of killing, but with no real GIMP value.

So we have one attempted rape and stabbing. One naked breast skewering murder. One kind of nice bit with a girl roped to a slab and eventually sawed to death (although she was, sadly, fully clothed). The strangulation with metal tongs wasn't all that exciting, and like the rest of the murders, lacked GIMP. This gets a grade of D+ mostly based on the rock quarry saw scene, but with a nod to the attempted rape and nude skewering. If the gal had been tied naked to the rock and sawed lengthwise instead of perpendicular, it would have easily increased a full grade point. But oh well.

This movie is listed at IMDB as Die Sage des Todes. It is available at Amazon.com.

All the recent talk about husbands/boyfriends being tied up and forced to watch while the wife/girlfriend is assaulted and sexually abused has reminded me of another concept you and your film crews could explore. Two women, lets say a mother and daughter (daughter would be in the late teens at say 18 or 19 tops) are kidnapped to be trained and sold as sex slaves. The mother is defiant and protective of her daughter (what mother wouldn't be protective of her daughter anyway?), so as a way of breaking her spirit and forcing compliance, the kidnappers force the mother to watch as her daughter is raped before she is then raped herself. This concept could also work with two women who are sisters instead of a mother and daughter. The defiant sister could be older than the other or both could be at about the same age.

How to become a GIMP movie maker...

It’s strange. In the past, vampire shows on TV would come and go. Does anyone but me remember the short-lived series Kindred with exquisite beauties Stacy Haiduk and Kelly Rutherford? It combined the elements of Underworld and The Godfather, but lasted only eight episodes. I don’t recall whether there was any GIMPage.

But now there are so many series and movies running simultaneously or consecutively that this seems like a distinctly different phenomenon. (Books too). Still, if it leads to more scenes like the ones in the True Blood pics posted by John Galt, I’m okay with it.

MAV: Thanks for the link to that clip compilation site. As you said, it’s very difficult to find these scenes – it would take years and end in bankruptcy. I had the good fortune of getting a lot of whipping clips from WSIMD originator “Oslo Netfetter”, and most of these appear in the earlier compilations shown on this site. But it looks like the quality may be a bit better – Oslo was hampered by the more limited technology he had available. Certainly a resource worth looking into.

As far as rape and discipline goes, I don't think Hazel's anal discipline and rape on the Forcing Function DVD (also available as a download now!) can be beat. It is practically brutal. Hazel and her partner really sell it. I reviewed it here. I also reviewed the two individual clips that comprise her anal training and rape (the links to the reviews are in the main DVD review) and they are available as downloads here and here.

I think that Delila Darling's full-length kidnap and rape on Hoosier Daddy is one of Steve's best. It is not as intense or violent as the Hazel scene, sadly, but still highly enjoyable. It is available as a DVD release and also as a download.  If I had to name two, those are easily the top of my list.

I'm feeling some deja vu....

This is a review of the downloadable version of the DVD. It is a 1.9 GB WMV file, compressed into a 1.8 GB ZIP file for download. It took me about 40 minutes for the download, but came off without a hitch. This doesn't have the DVD titles, menus, or chapter jumps, obviously, because it is not engineered as a DVD. It plays straight through. I am very pleased with this product, and this method of delivery.

Second Day (VL-050) features the delicious Delila Darling and the teenage Bailey, and is ostensibly the sequel to V-Shaped Recovery (VL-049), which featured the same two models. It is billed as Delila's second day in captivity, since Bailey gets a whole new intro chase. However, Delila is wearing a completely different outfit, which is technically a huge continuity error if you care about that sort of thing. I didn't much mind.

Bailey. The first feature stars blond shaggy-haired Bailey as a nature lover who strolls onto the Masked Man's property. She is dressed in a form fitting gray tank top and a pair of extremely tight, low-slung hip hugger jeans which, between the two, afford us a view of Bailey's lovely bare midriff as well as the top of her ass crack. Bailey is stalked for a good 2 minutes before she catches sight of the Masked Man. She runs, but is quickly captured. Struggling, hand gagging, choking, arms pulled behind her back, bent over backwards, bent over forward, spanking, and general manhandling follow. She is forced face down and her elbows, wrists, and ankles are rope tied behind her back, and she is cloth gagged and blindfolded. She is caressed, groped, stroked, and choked. Her clothes are pulled up and down to reveal her naked body. The Masked Man plays with Bailey for about 9 minutes before he tosses her over his shoulder and carries her back to his lair. He carries her for 5 minutes. I got tired just watching him.

Back in the lair, the Masked Man plays with Bailey a bit more. Bailey acts passably apprehensive. She is untied, but does not try to get away. After some research tonight, I discovered and confirmed the stills are actually from the 2006 German TV movie The Stoning (easy mistake to make). I corrected the database entry and made up a new page with the correct information.

This Jess Franco movie opens in what looks like an oriental-themed brothel, with naked women walking around and couples in various stages of undress doing carnal things in dark niches. It is announced that the evening's highlight is a whipping, and a girl wearing a one-piece red lingerie thing and black shear pantyhose is flung onto the middle of the floor. She writhes around on the floor as a big bald guy wallops her with a whip. While the whipping is going on, we focus on inane conversations between the dissolute guests. I would have preferred the focus to remain on the whipping, of course.

After the whipping, the club manager, Sheila (Raquel Evans), gives the whip guy permission to have his way with the girl, so he kneels down, rips off her clothes, and falls on top of her. As the guy proceeds to rape her there in the middle of the floor, the guests order more champagne or get it on between themselves. When the rape is done, the guy gets a round of applause and the naked girl is dragged out by one leg.

We get an atypically brief Franco travelogue montage to establish the location, then we are introduced to Ron the hotel manager who is screwing Betsy (Ursula Buchfellner), even though Sheila thinks Ron is her boyfriend. We discover that Betsy has a sister, the titular Linda, who is coming for a visit. Sheila walks in, breasts and beaver bared, and catches Betsy and Ron in flagrante delicto. Sheila is not pleased, which is a bad thing for Betsy.

Later, Ron tries to tell Sheila his sex with Betsy was just a "roll in the hay" and didn't mean anything to him as Sheila rolls languidly around on the bed wearing a black top and thigh high black hose but no panties. The top comes up and off and Ron goes down and in. A whipping and two sex scenes and we're only 11 minutes in. Is this a Jess Franco flick, or what?

They return to the bed. Extremely hot carpet munching ensues. Apparently, Linda is not as innocent as she first appeared.

Back to Betsy, who is naked in a glass cage in the middle of the brothel floor. She appears to be drugged. Everyone watches her writhe around in the glass cage. Sheila tells Ron she is holding Betsy in the brothel. They go to the club and some guy is in the cage with Betsy, who still looks drugged. When she catches sight of Ron, however, she calls for help and starts struggling. The guy she's with starts getting rougher with her. Ron walks out.

Linda arrives and of course no one meets her, but she meets up with a nice guy, Juan. When she calls the club, the bad guys answer and tell her to come by. Linda has a premonition she should leave, but does not. Meanwhile, Betsy is being held prisoner in a room with bars but a terrific view of the island.

Lots of nude Sheila, including a nude back massage by two nude babes, which turns into a front massage that ends in sex with Ron while the two nude chicks join in.

Back in the brothel, Sheila puts on a show in the middle of the floor, surrounded by naked men and women. More nude Sheila, lounging around on her bed. Ron confronts a nude Sheila and orders her to tell him where Betsy is. SUMMARY: One mediocre whipping scene, followed by a mediocre rape scene, although dragging the chick out by one leg afterward is pretty cool. One bondage bared breast threatened with a lit cigarette. One lengthy naked hot Betsy trapped in a glass cage while everyone watches, and someone actually has sex with her, although she doesn't struggle so it is hard to classify as even a mediocre rape. One floor show with a naked chick tied AOH while another chick cuts her then goes down on her, which comes off as altogether consensual. One torture scene with a bare breasted Betsy, chained to a wall, having her breast poked by long sharp leaves. There is also lots and lots and lots of incidental nudity from not only all three principle women stars, but a whole host of other hot chicks.

I am definitely confused as to why this movie is called The Story of Linda when Betsy is the one being threatened, imprisoned, raped and tortured. Linda just plays tourist and lets Juan pop her cherry. But putting that aside, I grade this a C- for GIMP. Betsy's breasts come awful close to physical damage on two occasions, and Ursula Buchfellner is a very pretty and nicely endowed actress. As far as non-GIMP goes, this is an awesome parade of hot naked women, including Raquel Evans and Katja Bienert. Well worth watching for just the sex and nudity.

Pavilion of Convulsion is a forced-vibrator movie that fails to generate any excitement.

Never mind the 50 minutes' worth of unexpected -- and completely inappropriate -- scenes of consensual sex. Even the non-consensual stuff with the vibrators is, for the most part, lifeless and boring.

The movie stars young Mii Airi, a super-cute student in a jersey shirt and cut-off jean shorts who has been captured by a demented fellow and his two evil henchmen. While little Mii is exceptionally pretty, she isn't much of an actress. To make matters worse, she almost looks a little too young for comfort. For most of the movie, her scenes fall flat.

In the first part of the film, Mii is tied to a red chair, with her arms bound above her head and her legs tied to the bottom of the chair. She is surrounded by the demented guy's two henchmen, who are wearing nothing but black undies and white goalie masks. The demented leader (who is regularly dressed) shows up and starts grabbing Mii's tits (she is still wearing her jersey) and forcing some kisses on Mii. The villains lift up Mii's jersey and use some scissors to cut off her pink bra, her jean shorts and her pink panties.

The villains rub some lube on Mii and then insert some small vibrators into her pussy. Mii squeals and rocks her head back and forth but isn't very convincing. After a while, the vibrators are removed and the demented leader finger fucks Mii to orgasm. She squirts quite a bit and does lots of convulsing, but still doesn't really sell the Big O. Meg Ryan she ain't.

WTF Interruption No. 1: Seventeen minutes of consensual sex between Mii and one of the villains.

When the non-consensual action returns, a completely naked Mii is tied to the roof in a one-legged standing position, with her arms tied over her head and her left leg hoisted in the air. For reasons that aren't entirely clear, there are gauze bandages around her right arm and her legs. Anyway, Mii is forced to pee while tied in that position, and looks understandably embarrassed. The villains use hoses to spray Mii down with water and then work her body over with a number of funny-looking vibrators that have sponge-like heads. Once again, Mii quivers and squeals but isn't convincing.

The next scene works better. Naked Mii is bound to the chair again, with her arms once again tied above her head. This time, though, her legs are tied to the arms of the chair, so her legs are nicely spread. The villains throw some lube on Mii and rub it all over her. They then work over her breasts and pussy with some blue vibrators with interesting-looking black heads. This is the best part of the movie (not that that's a particularly high bar to clear, at this point). Mii's struggling and spasms, including her eyes rolling back in her head (as depicted in the box cover art), actually work. This part wraps up with the villains applying to Mii's pussy a power-drill vibrator with a mop-like head, and this scene also proves to be fairly decent.

WTF Interruption No. 2: Another 33 minutes of consensual sex between Mii and a villain.

My grade: D+

While Pavilion of Convulsion has a few choice moments in its second hour that would have been worth posting on the old YouTied site, the overall film is a lackluster effort. Even worse, I recently saw another movie from this same series and it was just as flawed. I recommend GIMPers skip this particular series of vibrator films.

One thing I do want to mention, though, as if the whole title thing wasn't confusing enough. When I saw your review, I recognized the pictures so I knew which movie you were reviewing, but I didn't recognize the title, "The Story of Linda". And when you wrote at the bottom that the movie was listed as unavailable, I knew something was wrong. See, I've always seen that movie listed as simply Linda. If you do a search for it as "Linda", you'll find it on DVD from several sources. The good thing is that the Stories section is open to more updates in the future. Right now, all of it is Eda's stories, but if anyone wants to contribute GIMP-worthy fiction, e-mail me and we'll see about adding them.

The other feature is one that I'm particularly excited about. For 11 years, we've been collecting all our previous posts in the Guestbook Archives section. While it's nice to have them preserved, that many years of postings made it a chore to search for a particular subject, actress, movie, discussion, etc. It was just too overwhelming before.

Well, now with the help of Google and all of our archives now being stored on Ralphus.net, all our past history can be easily searched, to within the month and year, at least. I wish we had access to Google's "Cached" feature, but this is still pretty fast. It beats scanning through 11 years and thousands of posts trying to find a particular item.

Over the years, we've had some very interesting discussions and talked about several movies that never got an official review and made it into the Reviews section. The addition of a "search" function is huge. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know there have been plenty of times when I have wanted to search the site. Often, it's because someone has asked a question or raised an issue that I know has been previously discussed on the forum, but I can't remember when. I recalled when you posted the Arcas drawings and introduced me to his work, and I joined the board which seems to be the only place it appears. New search feature: This is actually something I've wanted to do for years, but never knew how. One day I was visiting an adult movie review site that one of my friends runs (CAVR...a very comprehensive site but nothing GIMP-worthy except for maybe choking) and I noticed he had a search function on his site. I e-mailed him and asked him how he got his. Apparently, it's a free service Google offers.

The only problem is, when we first tried the search engine on our site, it was virtually useless. At the time, we had just moved the extra features over to Ralphus.net and most of the previous years weren't showing up in searches. But I kept the link and checked it from time to time over the next several months. This month, I noticed everything had kicked in and we could finally search the complete archives section. I told Scribbler and we knocked it out last night. It was by far the easiest new feature we've ever added. The only thing that took any time was Scribbler doing the artwork for the button. I love the Clockwork Orange imagery he created.

The Eda Stories page, on the other hand, took much longer than expected (just ask Eda). We started it back in January and it went through several changes and revisions along the way until we got it right. You may notice nearly all the stories have picture links, which is something they didn't have originally when she wrote them. Those were added later. This is her life's work, so I wanted to be sure her stories were presented in the best way so we could give her a good showcase. I hope you guys like what we did.

All while naked. The second movie featured AOH bondage, more naked rack torture, nearly impaled by a bed of spikes, then tied to another rack to be tortured with a tarantula. Heck, those are 2 of the best mainstream GIMP scenes in history, IMO. Gorgeous woman, naked torture, fairly long scenes. I bitch about a lot of mainstream films that tease us, but I'll never complain about either of those 2 movies.

Simon: Movie N is L'ultima orgia del III Reich (Last Orgy of the Third Reich) and Movie J is Greta - Haus ohne Männer (aka Greta the Mad Butcher, Ilsa the Wicked Warden, among others). The second one is a Franco flick. He's everywhere.

I've seen Movie K, but can't remember the title. The still is from an interrogation scene, and it's not as good as this frame implies. The girl on the left lightly paddles the victim with the crop, then unzips her top to move in for some extended lesbian action. Yep… that'll make her talk.

Movie F (like D and H) is a GIGA/Akiba flick. That cross features prominently in many of their titles. If you have a lot of time you can search through their catalog - but as this is the same page Dr Yuya provided (which you say you can't access) it may not be much help. Most GIGA videos can be purchased as downloads from their site, but they ain't cheap ($30 - $50 each). You might also try this blog. It may not have exactly the ones you want, but as these things tend to be very formulaic, you'll probably wind up with something very similar.

To those seeking Arcas artwork: As has been mentioned, he does contribute to the The Dark Spot, but as this site now requires payment or posting for full access, it's a bit of a pain. Most of Arcas's pictures are also available at The Art of Darkness and quite a few are on Renderotica (where he posts as "Zogg").

And I wanted to start out by thanking Ralphus for featuring my photos on GIMP this entire week. I've already started trying to find a bunch more "fierce" looking pics for the next time he asks me for some....which I hope he will ;)

Things have been fairly busy for me recently with the filming of a bunch more custom videos. They were particularly exciting because we got the chance to work with a bunch of models we've meant to work with for a long time and opportunity never allowed for it. There was Ashley Edmunds who played a bikini model/diamond thief in one of them and in the other there was bondage superstar Kendra James (the redhead) along with Playboy model Mia McKinley (the six foot blonde bombshell) where the three of played "Charlie's Angels" in pursuit of a white slave trader (Peter). You guys will be pleased to hear that Peter ultimately turns the tables on us and sells us into the slave trade to Middle Eastern owners. I will try to attach pics, but we'll see how well I do.

They have about 3 or 4 formulas. There are mostly-rape movies (censored, though); Giant Latex Superheroines; and my favorites, the mostly-beating films (like the Heroine Suppression series).

Hitch Hike to Hell introduces Howard, an adult loser who lives with his mom and does pick-up/delivery for a small-town dry cleaner. Howard’s major issue is that his sister ran away from home and left poor mom devastated. Howard is a good-natured doofus who will give anyone a ride in his red delivery van...unless he finds out that the rider is running away from home. Then he zones out and turns into a vicious killer, recalling nothing about his murders until he experiences flashbacks later.

The first rider/victim (that we know of) speaks critically of the mother she is trying to escape, and that gives Howard a colossal headache. He pulls his van over to the side of a deserted road, yanks the girl out of the truck and throws her to the ground. Then he rips open her blouse to reveal her breasts (thanks, Howard) and chokes her to death. He arrives back at work late, gives his boss a lame excuse, and goes home to his mom.

Next he picks up a free-spirited, nomadic gal who’s been hitching her way across the USA for a few months. Howard gets upset that she never bothered to call home to let her mom know she was okay. When he pulls into an abandoned area and tells her to get in the back of the van, she willingly complies, figuring it’s “time to pay for the ride.” What she didn’t figure on was Howard jumping on top of her. Now what happens next may have been edited, because all we see is a view of both of them from the shoulders up, the girl is reacting fearfully and painfully to whatever Howard is doing to her, but the camera never shows what’s going on with the bottom halves of their bodies. Geez. Anyway, Howard finishes her off with a wire coat hanger, kicks her body out the door of the van, and dumps it over a hillside. He arrives back at work late, gives his boss a lame excuse, and goes home to his mom.

The cops (led by Russell Johnson of Gilligan’s Island) are still puzzling over the wire hanger connection (duh!...dry cleaner!). Meanwhile, Howard is parked in his van eating his lunch when a gay fellow asks him for a ride. In the course of the conversation, the fellow proudly says, “I’m different.” Clueless Howard looks up and asks, “Different from what?” That was my favorite line in the movie.

Fortunately, we don’t get to see what Howard does to the next victim, a girl of about 10 who is running away from her bickering parents, lugging a suitcase almost as big as she is. This girl did the best acting job in the whole movie. I don’t even want to mention how the cops found her. But even in death, she provides a clue to the killer’s identity.

Movie plusses: Howard rips blouses open before he kills the girls. The actresses are willing to have this happen to them.

Movie minuses: The biggest problem is the villain. He is not a nasty person, he’s just nuts. The rape/murder scenes are not well-staged, which, I’m sorry, detracted from my enjoyment of them. And the actresses portraying the victims...well, let’s just say they don’t look anything like the ones on the box cover (no surprise there). Evidently, the movie was tampered with in the transfer from VHS to DVD.

The original might have been a little better, but this one gets a C-.

Kidnapped Co-ed concerns geeky-looking college girl Sandra (Leslie Rivers), who is the daughter of wealthy parents, lives in a fancy hotel, and drives a big, black luxury car to school. That is, until one day when she encounters a back seat driver who puts a gun to her head. Eddie, a small-time crook, ties Sandra up in the back seat (hands in front...ack!) and commandeers the car. He’s hoping her rich daddy will pay a king’s ransom to get her back safely. In that respect, Eddie is both a threat and a protector.

When the two hole up in a seedy, small town hotel, two armed thugs burst through the door of their room. Sandra thinks she’s being rescued, but soon learns otherwise. As she goes to embrace one of the armed men, he whacks her across the face with his pistol, leaving an ugly gash that stays with her for the rest of the movie. When she pleads with the goon to ransom her, he abruptly and forcefully shoves his gun upward between her legs. She doubles over and sinks to the floor.

Incapacitated, Sandra is tied spreadeagle to the bed with strips of bedsheets, while Eddie is tied to a chair. One of the assailants holds a gun to Eddie’s head, forcing him to watch while the other climbs on top of Sandra and humps her as she screams. Unfortunately, Sandra remains clothed during this scene, and her nether region is covered up by her assaulter’s naked butt. But her reactions are pretty nice.

As Eddie watches he goes into a simmering boil but works at the ropes securing his wrists. When he finally loosens his bonds, his revenge against the two men is so swift and brutal (as well as fatal) that it leaves Sandra aghast.

Now the two are on the run, but they’re slowly forming a bond. Well, you can tell where this is going. When their car breaks down and they seek shelter at a farmer’s house, they get to share a bed. And when she pleads, “Make love to me...please?” he complies, which takes the movie in a completely different and GIMPless direction.

Movie plusses: The acting and production values in this movie are way above the average B-movie standards. The two leads give convincing performances, as do those in minor roles. The movie is well-paced, and the hotel rape scene is gripping. Even nerdy Sandra grows on you, especially after she loses those big round glasses.

Movie minuses: The hotel rape scene is also the only worthwhile GIMPage in the movie. Even that scene suffers from the lack of female nudity and the bloody injury that mars Sandra’s face.

As a movie, this was better than I expected. But there was very little GIMPage in it. Still, the fine performances and the intensity of the non-nude rape scene lifts this one to the level of a C.

Hey, I thought it was a hot scene. Tying a pretty girl spread-eagled to a bed and raping her...that's about as good as it comes, especially in a mainstream movie. No, there was no actual nudity in the scene, but it was easy enough to see what was going on. I can't find my highlights tape for that scene, otherwise, I'd look at it right now. There was a flick about a teacher having sex with a student, aptly named The Teacher starring one of my favorite drive-in movie goddesses, Angel Tompkins. She was every young man’s fantasy: a sexy teacher that actually did want you in bed. Probably why this became a cult favorite. It’s even on a compilation of drive-in classics.

I also remember that there was a wacko stalker after her, but I don’t recall whether there was any GIMPage. I can check, but maybe someone else out there knows for sure.

It's refreshing to hear a mainstream actress say that she feels comfortable doing bondage. Wish there were more like her.

I was already a fan of Olga Kurylenko before this, and after seeing that video clip, I admire her even more. Smokin' Russian babe with a sexy accent, not afraid to take off her clothes on camera, and even before this, she was no stranger to bondage. Don't forget her fully naked whipping scene in the DVD extras of Hitman.

YikYakker: I actually bought that DVD box set of Drive-In Classics. I bought it for 2 movies, one of which was The Teacher because I also love Angel Tompkins. Lots of nudity, but sadly, nothing GIMP-wise.

However, there's also a teacher-themed movie in that set called Trip With The Teacher that I haven't seen yet, but it's in the Mainstream Rape Database (with no description) so that one is a possibility. I'd be curious to read Galt's recollections if he's able to come up with anything. Most of those 1970s drive-in titles were before my time so I haven't seen a lot of them. That's back when they actually allowed nudity in rape scenes (sighs wistfully).

Trip With The Teacher, as I recall, did have rape scenes in it, of the teacher and maybe a student or two. I need to find that one and re-watch it.

And you know? Those were the EXACT TWO teacher-themed drive-in movies I was thinking about when I wrote my comment. I saw them on a double bill, in a third-rate indoor theater that specialized in drive-in movie fare, back in the late 70s. (The next step down for old theaters was going adult-only, which this one never did because it was downtown in a whacked out Bible Belt town, which insured that the adult fare was always on the outskirts of town, where the Good Christians could go but not be seen, or on the "wrong side" of town. End of parenthetical hypocrite castigation.) For all I know, they may constitute the whole of the teacher-themed drive-in movie genre.

I agree with most of your comments about the movie. I did like the clothes-ripping scenes a lot. It might just be my imagination or faulty memory, but it seems like there was a lot more clothes-ripping action in films of that era.

Here's an interesting tidbit: Robert Gribbin, who plays the "hero" in this one, is the same actor who played klutzy nutcase Howard in Hitch Hike to Hell. Hey, that's the way things went in the trashy movie biz.

But the way this story played out was also a testimony to the benefits of wearing a helmet when you ride a motorcycle.

However, as a GIMP movie, it has only one assault scene at the very end. All of the nudity happens earlier and in non-GIMP situations, sadly. Here are a few nice pictures of Angel Tompkins from earlier in the movie.

Angel Tompkins finds herself alone with the creepy guy, in a deserted factory or something, while looking for her student lover. The creepy guy has the hots for her, so she is trying to keep him appeased. He has a bayonet and backs her onto a coffin. He comes on to her and she doesn't fight him, but does an excellent job of looking ashamed and repulsed as he fucks her.

The body movements and her expressions indicate she is being raped, but they are both fully dressed. So while her expressions are excellent, the lack of nudity is disappointing. He figures out that she doesn't really love him and starts to strangle her, so she reaches down and grabs the bayonet he so thoughtfully dropped next to the coffin and stabs him. Even the stabbing lacks conviction.

As a GIMP movie, this rates a dismal D. If you are a big Angel Tompkins fan, you might get more enjoyment out of her performance as an unwilling sex partner. She sells the scene. But no nudity and no struggle makes it kind of tame. The IMDB entry is here. My copy was on Drive-In Cult Classics, where it is one of eight movies bundles together for only $5.99 through Amazon.

As for Trip With The Teacher, I did the same thing you did this afternoon and popped in my DVD. I couldn't make it to the end, though. I got drowsy and ended up fast-forwarding the rest of the way. I'm sure I got more entertainment value (and saved a lot of time) by just reading your review. Thanks for sacrificing 180 minutes by watching 2 mediocre movies for the forum. Not to mention the time it took to review and cap these for the forum.

Jane von Detlefson: I did some research. Apparently The Snake (aka "Le Serpent") featuring Olga Kurylenko in heavy nude bondage, was made 4 years ago! It's been out on DVD in the UK since February of 2008. And now as of June 2010...still no release here in the US. VideoETA.com has nothing about it coming out anything soon. That's mystifying. The movie is in English. Olga Kurylenko should be at least familiar to US audiences after appearing as a Bond girl a few years back. Could it be the bondage that's preventing a DVD release? We can't be that prudish here, can we?

azous: I'm not sure even Rick Masters knows when the next ZFX movie is coming out. Last we heard from Rick, he was working on a computer animated bondage film, title and release date unknown. Whether he gets back to making live action films again remains a mystery. Maybe he'll stop by and give us an update. This was a pretty wack movie. What made it even more so is that I watched it in Portuguese without subtitles. So I can’t explain what’s going on, except that there is short span more than halfway through the movie when the bad guy, “Jozefel Zanatos” (or “Coffin Joe”) sends his minions out to kidnap hot babes and bring them to his dungeon for torture. Probably lasts no more than 10-15 minutes. Some good stuff but also some gory stuff.

The daily pics: While I'm enjoying seeing Peter have his way with the sexy Caroline, I don't care much for the blindfolds. I want to see anguish and fear. For me, expressive eyes can be the sexiest thing on a victim and can really make a scene.

This kind of reminds me of the poll we had a 3 years ago (linked above, starting June 1, 2007), when Bill Zebub, bless his confused old heart, was contemplating shooting a movie where his model would wear a complete face mask over her head during all the torture scenes. So we had a poll about it and overwhelmingly, people voted against the mask, saying how important it was to see her face (Ultimately, Zebub decided against the mask but went with a blindfold instead, which was part of the reason his movie ended up sucking).

With that in mind, let's do another poll and see if we can get more than just the 3 or so regulars posting this time. Let me break out the fancy colored font.

Guys, yesterday we had 1039 hits and heard from 6 people. That's pretty weak. I refuse to believe there's that much apathy out there, or that over a thousand people couldn't think of anything to say. There's a reason why you keep coming back here on a regular basis. This is a subject that ALL of you should have an opinion about. The only reason this site...a discussion site, mind you...survives is to give you guys a voice. If you've got an opinion, let's hear it! Regulars, step up. And lurkers (you know who you are), it's a perfect time to come out of the closet and tell us what you think. Make me proud.

A blindfold can be fun if the hero is varying where and how he hits the victim. For example, imagine a paddle that has fur on one side and leather with metal studs on the other. The girl is stroked with the fur and whacked with the leather. If she can't see, it adds to the fun.

But in general, I prefer to see the eyes. I want to see the pain, anguish and dispair.

I have similar feelings about gags. They are my main fetish, but I wouldn't want to see a video where a woman was gagged the whole time. To appreciate the erotic nature of a gag, I believe you must also see the woman ungagged. That way you get the full effect. And I think it goes without saying that a woman's mouth is one of her sexiest aspects. So long as it's not haranguing you about exes.

From my side of the whip, blindfolds often add to a scene because they increase the captive's feeling of helplessness and because the removal of one of her senses adds to the others, particularly the sense of touch (translated "pain"). Their use is particularly effective and exciting when the subject is blindfolded before she is led to the place of interrogation, because then she doesn't know exactly what awaits her.

After a while, though, it is exciting to have the blindfold removed, so that she can suddenly see and react to her situation and her interrogators can see the fear in her eyes when she realizes that her situation is worse than she had anticipated.

So the answer to the question is ... use blindfolds part of the time. [I will concede, however, that, at some point during the scene, the blindfold does need to be removed for full effect, so, if the choice is between an entire scene with or without a blindfold, then without has to be preferred. But why should it ever be necessary to make a choice like that?]

Blindfolds: I'm not a great fan; as you mention, I love to see their eyes and faces, but I have found that many girls love to be blindfolded as it adds to their experience of helplessness and fear of the unknown. So we do blindfold on occasion.

We need folks to fund more shooting with Delila! The customer paid $400 to have that scene added to a shoot. She has a male partner that will do real cock scenes with her. If a few folks could pool their money they could fund a scene that includes alternate endings. We can't sell it on the site so it must be customer funded.

Just look at Delila Darling from Powershotz. What good would it be to not see those eyes as she responds to the tortures done to her. In a pinch a hood that covers the whole head is sexy. Muffles the screams, makes it a chore to get a breath and you don't know what she is going though expression wise.

Gosh it looks like I want it both ways but a blindfold just doesn't cut it for me.
