You had one on your list that I could have put up on the board, but it involved a scene in which a chick has her tit cut off, and after the whining we've gotten over the past few days, I decided to pass.

I can also appreciate a well-done spotless scene, but much prefer that there will be blood. So go ahead… blame me.

Oh, that's right. Now it's all coming back to me. You were the one who did the PKF custom that I didn't like where the chick gets all bloody and disemboweled. So you actually like blood, huh? So you're the one! That explains why you liked K3: Prison of Hell. That was an awfully bloody film, but I didn't cap the bloody parts for the site. Some of that blood was just ridiculous. When they look like they're taking a bath in the stuff, that's going too far. The only scene I liked in that film was the electrocution scene, which I used for the daily pictures.

I just found out tonight that the man who made that film also made Exitus Interruptus, which won the 2008 Ralphus Award for Best Mainstream Film of the Year. I don't recall that film being nearly as bloody as this one was, although the most memorable scene did involve a chick being shot in the pussy. I may have to seek out more of his work.

And my other pet peeve, if you have an actress that is playing the part of a hooker, stripper, or porn star, it should be expected that you will have to get naked for the part. That should be a given, yet there are so many examples of actresses playing these roles and they don't get naked. Jessica Alba plays a hooker, and yet they show her having sex with her bra on. Who does that? There is a shot of her ass, but I bet it's not hers. And then Kate Hudson not getting naked was a big let down. She's been naked in other movies right?

According to this site, the anticipated Wonder Woman movie will be made for TV, not the cinema. We’ve speculated here about who should/might play the lead role, and these folks have their own suggestions. The only one I can get behind is Eliza Dushku, not only because I like her style, but because she has already established some action/tough girl/bondage cred. But I’m sure folks here can come up with some interesting candidates as well.

The big question though is whether there will be, as Jane would phrase it, “skimping on the GIMPing.”

Sasha Grey did some terrific scenes for Kink.com, but they were the first scenes I ever saw her in, and I thought for the longest time (okay, for a few weeks at least) that she was a bondage performer. I had no idea she was an established vanilla performer. And so, oddly enough, I would have enjoyed her bondage sex scenes a lot more if I had established her in my own mind as a vanilla performer first. Anyone who doesn't think sex is at least as much mental as it is physical is in denial.

I used to have a copy of Riana Rouge -- the whole point was to find all the ways you could torture and kill the heroine. It was a VERY cheesy game and most of the deaths were far too gory for my tastes. But it was kind of fun.

It wasn't until MUCH later that I realized that "Riana" was a play on the Japanese word for "GIMP", "ryona".

I also take this chance weigh in on Ralphus’ comment from a few days ago about Wonder Woman: Yes, whoever they pick will be hard-pressed to match the near-perfect Lynda Carter. If there’s a better choice to play Wonder Woman, she’s computer-generated. Eliza Dushku, for all her undeniable hotness, won’t stack up. And speaking of stacking up, I believe that movie superheroines must be built like the comic-book characters from whence they came, that is to say, they must have huge jugs. (Anyone who was a comicbook fan in the previous century knows what I mean).

Actually, my expectations for a Wonder Woman movie or show are less than zero. The only way it would be worthwhile is if they use the old Eric Stanton ‘Blunder Broad’ comics as their storyboard. Now, there’s a guy who knew how to treat a well-stacked heroine.

Sometimes the site takes the girls out on the streets in chains and wearing signs that say "SLUT" or whatever, and have them stand there while a crowd gathers, and random people come up and play with their tits and whatnot. This is fine but the people are usually annoying.

The few I've seen with that Hellfire Club vibe were in fact the ones that I enjoyed the most. Or disliked the least. Still, they seem so ostentatious, even though I feel like the players are actually caught being most like themselves. There are a handful of maxims that I find more true than not, one of which is: Avoid ever meeting your heroes because you will always be disappointed. No one lives up to expectations (which of course is no fault of their own). I think Public Disgrace pulls the curtain back and reveals the machinery behind the artifice, and I find the fantasy more appealing than the reality.

On another note, has anyone else tried to order a VOD from Red Feline in like the last few weeks? Credit card processing has consistently been down it seems.

On another note, we're having our first dress rehearsal with about 25 cast members today for the Inquisition movie. The costuming has been crazy for that many people in a period film. I won't be wearing my costume all that much in the movie. But it's pretty all the same. I'm soooo excited!

One more thing, there are only 2 more days left of the Sale in our DVD Store, so if you want 'em, go get 'em!

My complaint? Clothespins. Whoever thought a two-inch long pair of wooden or plastic clips would make an effective torture instrument must have been on giggle drugs. Yet, for reasons unknown, clothespins have remained part of many otherwise knowledgeable GIMPers' arsenals for decades. That, in spite of the fact that they simply do not hurt (very much, if at all). Believe me… I know, I've had them used on me. Mild discomfort? Sure. But bring them out after whipping, beating and branding scenes? Please.

Again and again I've watched the most determined heroines --after enduring all sorts of extreme torments-- fold like a deck of cards when the horrifying box of clothespins comes to the fore. Right… skewers through the tits didn't do it, so now we'll bring out those little thingies which pinch the skin; does it every time. Argh!

And if, as appears to be the case in today's pictures, they are used as nipple clips to conduct electricity… well, does anyone realize that wood and plastic are insulating materials? I love ZFX videos, but when I see stuff like this, it just takes the credibility of otherwise outstanding productions down so many notches I lose count.

Finally… even if you could justify using clothespins to "torture" a nubile young thing, where would you get them? When was the last time you saw anyone hang out their wash? Using clothespins on a victim is kind of like beating them with a slide rule. The world has moved on. Let's use current technology. For instance, try those heavy duty paper clips from Staples - now those buggers really hurt! As for the slide rule, try using an iPad instead.

I've tried to use clothespins on my girlfriend's nipples and she flat out would not let me do it. She said they hurt too much. Women have larger nipples than guys do and they are very sensitive. I had another girlfriend who couldn't even stand having her breasts tied up, let alone have anything put on them. Plus if you put multiple clothespins on a breast like in the Victoria Vixen picture, that hurts even more. Most guys don't have enough breast area on their bodies to be able to put on more than a couple clothespins, but women obviously have more of a target up there so you can really torture their tits if you use lots of them.

Another thing about clothespins...they pinch when they first go on, but if you leave them on for a number of minutes, the pain starts to increase. Believe it or not, they hurt even more when removed, because the blood goes rushing back into the areas that were previously constricted.

I'm a breast man anyway. Some guys are leg men, some like asses, I like tits. Clothespins may seem like a simple, old-fashioned household item, but you can still find them at any Wal-Mart and they can be very effective at causing great discomfort to a woman's breasts, and that's always a turn-on for me. As expected, The Killer Inside Me -- the film where beautiful Jessica Alba is slapped around and beaten -- is a disappointment. But the reasons it disappoints may not be the ones you expected.

To begin with, don't blame Alba. Her acting in this film is solid, and when it comes to the key GIMP moments where she is slapped and punched, she delivers.

Nor is the film's level of violence an issue. Yes, the movie is rough, but anyone who has sat through films such as Irreversible and The Girl Next Door will have no problem getting through this one. I would say the chatter about the violence in this film was unnecessarily hysterical and misleading.

Basically, the film fails because the key scene -- the part where the villain is slapping Jessica's face -- is too brief. It quickly transitions from the slaps -- which are arousing -- to Jessica's face getting beaten, which isn't. If Jessica had been slapped around some more before her face becomes a punching bag, this movie would have received a much higher grade. As for the rest of the GIMP moments, they're nothing special.

The story is set in a small Texas town in the 1950s, in what's supposed to be typical Bumfuck, U.S.A. -- the type of place where people think yous is plural for "you," and the marquee at the local strip joint advertises "Girl, Girl, Girl." Actually, the movie does a good job of capturing the era and locale, even if the central character (who also narrates) sounds a bit too much like "Earl" from My Name is Earl and the Alba character is much too pretty for a hick-town ho.

The central character, Deputy Sheriff Lou Ford (played by Casey Affleck), is sent to the home of hooker Joyce Lakeland (Alba) to tell her to leave town. She doesn't take the news well, and starts slapping Lou's face. Well, that just brings out the deputy's inner Ralphus. He grabs Joyce and hoists her under his arm, carrying her to her bedroom, and planting Joyce on the bed. Lou moves Joyce onto her stomach and gets on top of her. He pulls down her shorts and panties (you don't really see that moment) and starts harshly whipping her bare ass (a body double, I assume), as Joyce cries in pain. I thought it was pretty intense, as seen here -- probably better than expected, although it wasn't really my thing.

When it ends, Lou feels he should apologize, but he then discovers -- as Seinfeld might say -- that she's into it. They proceed to fuck (with Joyce still wearing her undershirt top).

The deputy and the hooker become lovers, and soon hatch a plot to blackmail a local big shot. However, Lou double-crosses the hooker, and comes up with his own plan -- to kill Joyce and the blackmail victim, so Lou can steal $500 from the $10,000 worth of blackmail money (perhaps this made more sense in the original novel). Lou and Joyce also spend a lot of time screwing, often with an emphasis on rough sex, and with Alba showing more skin than you might expect -- although the shots are always arranged so that you don't actually see her nipples. The best coupling is one where Alba is face-first on the bed and getting nailed, while the Affleck character has his belt tied around her neck. The Affleck character is pushing Alba's face into the pillow and pulling on the belt around her neck, and it's pretty hot, as consensual rough stuff goes (although Alba is wearing a bra in this scene).

Anyway, after the sex with the belt has ended, it's time for the blackmail payoff. After they are dressed, Lou slips on some gloves and explains to the hooker that his plan is to have her and the blackmailed guy (who's about to show up at Joyce's house) both found dead. "Well, that doesn't make any sense," Joyce says. "How am I supposed to be dead?" Wrong question.

Lou gives Joyce a light slap to the face, followed by three more slaps. None of the slaps are really harsh, but most are good enough, in a degrading-the-victim sorta way. "Don't. I have to travel," Joyce says. Lou replies, "Baby, you aren't going anywhere. Understand?" He slaps her face again, then winds up and delivers three hard punches to her face. This is followed by a hard belly punch, which is kinda hot in its own right, and then a hard punch that sends Joyce flying against the wall.

With Joyce seated against the wall, Lou proceeds to pummel her face with his fist, ultimately leaving Joyce passed out, a bruised and battered mess. When the guy being blackmailed shows up, Lou shoots him dead, then places the gun in Joyce's hand.

That pretty much covers the GIMP moments. Later in the movie, Lou delivers a belly punch and some other shots to his girlfriend, played by Kate Hudson, and then kicks her until she is dead. Not particularly GIMP-worthy, in my view.

My grade: C

Seeing gorgeous Jessica Alba get slapped around, however briefly, is still worth a few points, in my book. And I liked the scene where Jessica gets dinked while the belt is tied around her neck and her face is being pushed into the pillow, even if it is consensual. So while The Killer Inside Me is disappointing, it still squeaks by with a passing grade.

Unlike my old friend LTL, I only grade mainstream films on their GIMP content, not their overall entertainment value. But I will say this -- I mostly found The Killer Inside Me to be slow and boring, and the ending is ridiculous. If you're into nut-job killers, you're probably better off with something like American Psycho.

A couple of days ago, I saw the remake of that sexploitation/horror classic I Spit on Your Grave 2010 on the day it opened at a Times Square theater. Here is my assessment of the remake of it in comparison to the original and on its own.

There are some things in the remake that don't measure up to the original. And then there are some things in it that improve on the original.

I am particularly annoyed by the scenes where the lead victim, played by Sarah Butler, is confronted by the yokels in her cabin, which occurs before her abuse in the woods. She's intimidated rather than terrorized. For example, she's forced to suck both a liquor bottle and then a gun and I thought, great, they're getting to a blow job scene but no. And this is the unrated version no less. Also, one of the yokels keeps referring to her as a show horse and asks her to show her teeth and to whinny like a horse. At that point I was wondering was I watching a remake of "I Spit on Your Grave" or "Deliverance". In this respect, ISPOYG is more of a tease than something that delivers. Still, when Butler's being threatened, she does the best begging and pleading short of owing a loan shark money.

Nudity-wise, I would say there's about 10 minutes worth. You see her panties pulled down. And one character uses his shotgun to move her sweater to show some nipple. But I was pissed that there were no scenes of groping of her goodies. In fact, there's like 20 minutes of intimidation and threatening. It seemed so long I wanted to scream, "Get to the rapes already!"

When they finally get to the rapes (already), this is where the movie falls short of the original. In the first movie, Camille Keaton gets a taste by every one of her assailants and it's explicitly shown. In the remake, they added an additional villain which changes to a degree the plot and direction of the film. And this new character becomes the new chief rapist villain. That villain, along with the mentally challenged character are the only ones whom we see actively raping the female lead. There are 5 rapists now instead of 4 in the original film. They all rape individually, but they show only two of them getting some action. The rapes by the other assailants are implied rather than displayed.

There's about 3 or 4 minutes worth of raping in the first scene, if you count the humping, holding her down, and strangling. The way they shoot it, I don't recall seeing much of any tit. A guy on top of her is thrusting himself into her pussy and she's moaning. She temporarily breaks being held down and freaks out and starts hitting the retarded guy. He puts his hands on her throat to try to strangle her and slow her down. It does. And he comes inside her. That's another major change from the original.

She runs into the woods naked trying to flee from her rapists, but it's no good. They're waiting for her. Also, one of the villains videotapes the events and another plays a harmonica. So when she hears that, she knows she's in trouble. And the new 5th character who is really the leader, shoves her head over and over in a ditch with water. He anally rapes her and says he's an ass man. He shoves it to her hard over and over. You don't really get a rear view and I don't recall any nudity in this scene. The way she's held, the grass covers her juicy bits, but Butler does have a marvelous look of anguish on her face.

After Jennifer is anally raped and I'm expecting to see the next guy do his thing, the filmmakers do the cop out thing fading to the next scene with our heroine waking up from shock from the obvious implication that all of her assailants had their way with her.

The most nudity you see is when she wakes up after the trauma and she staggers nakedly to a bridge to jump off. The yokels try to find the body with no success. At this, point, the horror movie aspect kicks in.

The movie does improve upon the original in two ways.

First the star. Sarah Butler is not only better looking than Camille Keaton, she's a better actress too. You get to see Butler in a bikini, mini-skirts and nude. You may not see too much of her flesh, but when you do it's a delight. She is a ravishing lady indeed. You can believe that some guys would be willing to risk jail for piece like her. In regards to her acting, I could almost believe that after the hell she went through, this bitch is hell bent on revenge.

The other way this movie improves on the original is more in the horror movie aspect. If you're a fan of the "Saw" movies, you should like the ingenious way that Butler's character destroys her tormentors. I'll say this, I'll never use fishhooks again.

That theater I saw it in wasn't sold out, but it was filled up enough that it was hard to find a decent seat. Also, the audience definitely reacted to the movie. There's one torture scene (to a male, of course) that had me and the rest of the audience laughing hysterically. Also, the audience looked like they were born after the original film. Two girls behind me had to be oblivious to the original film because she said to her friend, "I bet he's going to rape her". And when the two rapes did occur, I could hear them clearly gasp in horror.

Overall though, it's a movie worth seeing. It's a movie more polished than the original, with mood music, a subplot and better acting. However, my preference would lean toward to the original.

Now on to the remakes of "Act of Vengeance" starring Kristen Stewart and "Hot Spur" with Cameron Diaz...

My grade: B-

I'm not a snuff guy, so take my opinion for what it's worth, but I would think the scene would appeal more to guys who enjoy seeing women beaten (strictly in a fictional context, of course).

I've already returned the movie rental, so this is just from memory, but the scene is similar to the Alba beating scene, although with a less attractive actress. The sheriff gives Hudson's character a hard belly punch that sends her to the floor. He then proceeds to punch the crap out of her, leaving her pretty much a quivering mess on the floor (though not yet dead). The sheriff lifts up Hudson's dress so that it covers her face, and she continues to quiver on the floor, and pisses herself (this actually becomes important to the storyline, believe it or not).

• New Slave Island 2: This is the only movie I reviewed (to the best of my recollection) that starred Rina Himekawa. I never reviewed number 10, but I have written a review of Slave Island 11.

• Battlefield Gangbang: I wrote this review about a short while back. One of the stars of this movie was Riku Shiina, so maybe this is the series you want.

I think the key to doing one of these right is to show the suffering and reactions of the victim. When a victim is laying on the floor, beaten in obvious pain and struggling for breath that IMO is the GIMP value of a beat down. TKIM provided NONE of that despite the so called explicit beatings which I felt were anything but. If those scenes are done right if would have had some value, to me it's an F and would be an F- with a lesser victim.

One other mainstream movie I completely forgot about was "Dark Tide" with Bridgett Bako. A Canadian: Thank you so much for the fair and concise review of The Killer Inside Me. I was the one who first brought this film up on the forum over a year ago when it was still in pre-production. If they had filmed the story according to the original shooting script, it could have been a GIMP classic, or at least had a GIMP classic scene. As I pointed out here earlier, Jessica Alba was supposed to be tied to the bed during her beating scene, and also get naked later on in the film.

Reading your review confirmed that the bondage is gone, and the only nudity is likely the ass of a body double. And she's playing a hooker! What kind of hooker has sex while wearing an undershirt top? Jessica Alba thinks she can constantly get by on her good looks alone without making the sacrifices needed to play a sexy character and a realistic victim. That means showing off her tits at least, and not talking her way out of a bondage scene that's important to the plot. She had potential, but she'll never make the big time as a Girl In Merciless Peril if she continues to sanitize every project that she's involved with.

Vince, great review, thank you so much. You gave us everything we needed to know about the movie, and you told it from the point of view of a true rape fan that made it fun and entertaining to read. I liked the first person experience, too, about the girls in the seats behind you reacting to the rape scenes. As for the movie itself, I'm not surprised by the reduced nudity and shortened rape scenes, but it still sounds like a must-see. And I agree, the lead actress is a real cutie. I don't imagine this will play in Ohio where I live, but it's something I'd prefer to watch at home on DVD anyway.

Free tickets? You'll have to see Jane about that one. BTW, the above artwork is close to the treatment that Jane is going to be suffering in the Inquisition film. The first day of shooting was supposed to be Sunday, but they got rained out. Filming is expecting to last until the end of the month, climaxing with the burning at the stake scene which will be filmed on the final day. I think that's wise planning on JJ's part, saving it til the end. That way they'll have all the other scenes covered in case the fire gets out of control and Jane is...a bit too charred to do any more shooting :)

When was the last time you saw a mainstream movie in which a captured spy was threatened with clothespins? Were clothespins used by the Nazis? By the Inquisition?

I am with Fritz on this one, and together, we shall cause a 50% reduction of the clothespin action in GIMP scenes by 50% by 2011. The point is not whether or not they are painful. The point is that authentic GIMP torture calls for classic, old-school implements – whips, crops, breast presses, electrodes, etc – where the viewer can really appreciate the pain (albeit faked) of the victim.

My sense is that clothespins were really popularized more in the ‘consensual’ BDSM productions, and have no place in genuine torture scenes. Unfortunately, clothespins are exceedingly commonplace in so many productions nowadays.

The only time I want to see clothespins involved is where they are attached to victim’s large breasts and nipples, and then whipped off. There is a scene involving Penelope Pace in Guilty 2 (I think, but am not too sure) where it looks like that is going to happen. The villain attaches one clip to each nipple, and then starts with the whip. However, the clips fly off on the first stroke! Imagine my disappointment.

I'll ditto the Ralphus comments on movie reviews - I'm probably just as guilty as anyone at simply taking them for granted - as one who has done a few for the forum I can attest it is a time consuming, thankless task and anyone who takes the time to knock one out deserves recognition as his only reward - so kudos guys and keep doing God's work.

Ralphus - so that pic is fairly accurate for Jane's roasting scene huh - I'm seeing that as a highlight on the next "Burn Baby Burn" entry.

elkcreek - thanks for the heads up on that "Zellwood" - yes, Sarah Jean is quite the cutie - I get the impression she will escape her bonds to extract her revenge on the villains - what a pity - and that is quite a nice scene from "Dark Tide" - if you're a Bako fan she also does a very Gimp-worthy scene in "Strange Days" and she does not survive.

Vince: Your review of the remake of "I Spit on Your Grave" got me thinking (which is a tough thing to do.) I wasn't that thrilled about the original as I found it too "dirty," and Camille Keaton didn't really turn my crank. But I did like the brutality, copious nudity and relentnessness of the rapes. So in the remake, we have a hotter victim, slicker production, but they toned down the brutality and nudity. Still, it's probably worth a look, even though it seems the most creative tortures are again reserved for the male victims.

Clothespins: I don't mind them too much. They're sort of like appetizers before the main course (whippings, electro-torture, forced penetration, etc.) They also add to the bondage factor. By that I mean the clothespins, either annoying or painful, would normally be quite easy to take off, but if the victim is bound properly, they can really increase her frustration level.

It's funny -- one of my favorites is a scene from Act of Destruction!!! Nice beat-down, but I'd have preferred a strangling (what phone cords were made for).

I thought that was in the first Guilty movie. Ralphus will know for sure. In any event, I'm not much of a clothespin guy, but I liked that scene (in whatever movie it appeared in).

It has a good scene where the clothespins are whipped off the victim's body -- in my review of that film, I said that was my favorite scene.

Thanks, Canadian, for your comment on the clothespins. Actually, I am all about huge breasts, even if most are fake. It’s just one of many positions I hold where I am in the clear minority vis-à-vis the other good people on this board. One other minority view I held was in a discussion several weeks back about the decline of Japanese porn. After reading your very enjoyable review, I would otherwise be keen to get my hands on this film, if only the victim had bigger boobs. I did note your comment that the scene was too short. But then, that’s probably true for all good frontal whipping scenes.

If I had my druthers, there should be a major reduction in clothespins, candle wax, vibrators (along with the whole concept of multiple orgasms as torture), and fancy ropework. All of these would be replaced by an increase in classic whips ‘n chains and the like.

I want to ask about something that I have no doubt others have seen. A few years ago I began collecting the box cover images of the JAV titles in my collection. Often when searching the net for suitable a box cover image I find what at first glance appears to be a suitable image, only to find on closer inspection that the image has the word "Sample" plastered right smack in the middle of it. Either that, or it has the eyes of the girls censored out with black lines accross them.

I have often wondered to myself why anyone would ruin an image by putting the word "Sample" in the middle of it or crossing out the eyes of the girls. What do the rest of you think the reason could be?

I've seen those types of covers. My guess is the original pictures come from websites that are trying to protect themselves from piracy by labelling their cover art, so that people can't make clean copies of the cover. But that's only a guess.

Ha! They don't have to re-shoot every video, but they could change their direction a bit and start making new films that feature nonconsensual storylines. Keep the opening and closing interviews. Those are used to cover their ass so that everyone knows the girls are consenting. Yeah, yeah, all that happy horseshit. It's easy enough to fast-forward through.

But between the opening and closing interviews, nix the dialogue that has the guy saying, "Are you liking this? Are you ready to cum?" And the girl screaming in ecstasy. "I'm cumming, I'm cumming! You may have a point. I remember seeing clothespins in the late 80s and early 90s HOM productions (when bondage porn went soft after the Meese Report) and in other consensual all-girl movies from other bondage companies in the years that followed. That stuff was and is practically unwatchable. But then again, I don't agree they don't have a place in genuine torture scenes. Blakemore was doing clothespin torment well before that era, and no one would question that his stuff is among the roughest footage ever put on film. It's the copycats that don't do as high quality work as his stuff that have made clothespins ubiquitous and boring.

Regarding the ZFX whipping scene with Penelope Pace suspended and has the clothespins whipped off her nipples, that was indeed the original Guilty. One of my favorite scenes from that film. Whether or not you liked Penelope's super-sized melons, you can't deny that she was a helluva performer.

As far as clothespins... Definately. A great, menacing pre-amble of things to come.

I won't ask you (or Canadian) to reveal your choices now, but I'm curious about what scenes others here would nominate for this distinguished honor.

I was aware of this forum for a while now, we've been following it since Jane began to interact with this group. I must say that it is a very polite, interesting, stimulating group of people, so I'm happy to contribute with my two cents.

I know that there's an interest in the new production we're engaged in: The Big Budget Inquisition Film, henceforth known as Unholy Office which approximates the working title. We don't have a title yet because it's such an interesting project that it will require a very attractive, catchy, mesmerizing title. Something to remember.

As some of you may already know, this project is underway. But when I say underway, I don't mean that we're shooting something today. It means that we're working on the production and that is a complex issue. We were going to shoot the very important scenes on the exteriors first. We got rain instead.

The exteriors are very specific. We're using a very nice street that was kept as it was in the times of the colony here. The buildings were fixed, and it looks like a nice old street from centuries past. The problem is that most of the buildings in the street are museums. They are decorated according to the times, so for us is great. We don't need to build a set to recreate the 1600s, we have it in the form of museums. We had to get permissions to shoot in them which took a lot of work and we got them. But we can't shoot in the street in the middle of the rain, so it was postponed to this coming Sunday. We know the weather will be fine. All this week was terrible. And we need to shoot when the museums don't have a lot of activity... that's early Sunday and all day Monday. The rest of the week they are full of tourists and school children.. noisy indeed. And we can't shoot the torture scenes before the street scenes. Jane and Mila have to look great, their clothes untouched and clean, and their mood has to be right. We can't mess them up before their torture begins.

So... while we wait for Sunday JJ has been busy with the actors, particularly the one actress that will be Jane's company in the painful process of their interrogation at the hands of the very experience inquisitors, who know a thing or two about how to convince someone to spill their unholy beans. This actress, Mila, has received the special attention of JJ in the form of daily torture for a long time. She's doing very well. She understands well what it means to have your skin ripped off by the whip and your arms stretched to the point of breaking by the rack, amongst other tortures. A concept that Jane already knows well. She was too busy with the costumes to be involved in the torture of Mila.

Only once she dropped by the black room to show Mila the proper way to react when you are suspended by the wrists and whipped mercilessly. Mila got the point. She also got the chance to share a naked moment of tenderness with her. Something they will get to do in the dungeon after they are both tortured.

This Saturday we're taking over the dungeon, we'll get the keys and make it ours for two whole weeks. While our art department decorates the dungeon with the rack, a cross, the candle holders, awesome looking monstrosities themselves, chains, whips, etc, we'll be shooting the exterior scenes that bring in the conflict to the story.

We wanted to have a carriage with a horse and all that but unfortunately the street is too narrow for it and the carriage we found didn't look the part. What we got instead is a handsome looking goat, one of those that say, the devil is in the room. We decided not to burn the goat at the stake, only Jane.

And there you have it, a first hand description of what is going on at this point. All I have to add for now is that we have a very nice group of people working in a fascinating project. A big change from our normal productions where two or three people do it all.

However, the main R-rated movie is a superb widescreen transfer to DVD, which upscales nicely on my Blu-Ray player while the extra, unrated scenes are not widescreen. Instead, they appear to be lower resolution 4:3 material, almost like it was copied from a video. The main movie is a fresh widescreen transfer. The video is superb, but the sound is a microsecond off in some scenes. Lana Clarkson never looked better on the rack though. The dim torture dungeon scenes of the VHS now are much more clear and brighter in the DVD. It's too bad it's the R-rated version for the transfer. This thing would sell like hotcakes if it was the unrated version in this quality.

Undoubtedly, Shout Factory was unable to find better source material for the unrated scenes, because the rest of the movie is fantastic. A lot of care went into this transfer.

Note that this movie isn't available from mainstream sites like Amazon; it's only from Shout Factory.

The star, Densie Coward, has the acting talent of a broomstick, but who cares with a body like that. Ummm!

Thanks for the information about the Barbarian Queen release. That's disappointing, but I can't blame the people at Shout Factory, as it sounds like an effort was made to get the goods. It's a shame, all the same.

I did wonder the other day why the movie wasn't listed on amazon. Now we know.

Hello people. I'm glad I had such a nice reception here. I hope to contribute to this forum beyond the famous film.

Today we closed the deal on the dungeon, it's ours now and we can do anything we need to do with it. Decoration and set up begins tomorrow.

Meanwhile, JJ and Mila had a scene with the Inquisitor that Mila found amusing. Today it was the first time we saw our celebrated inquisitor in costume, with his new "Dominican priest" hair cut and he revealed a gesture he's going to use often, making his eyes cold and empty, almost, which made JJ's heart skip a beat. "That's the look I need you to have during the tortures" he said to the actor who's also one of the producers in the company while Mila was laughing very hard. Jane, in the meantime, was extremely busy finishing some touches on the costumes.

After the rehearsal of the scene where the priest confronts the rich girl... long before she becomes his victim, JJ and Mila went to the movie theater where Jane's movie is playing, still. JJ had some business to discuss with the people there, and lo and behold, they walk in and the promo screens are playing the trailer for Jane's movie, the people milling around, looking at the trailer, see the actor walking in the theater. Mila is impressed. "Your life will change" JJ says to her. "I know" she responds. She's going to be in the next three movies we're planning.

After the meeting they go to close the deal for the dungeon. JJ shows the dungeon to Mila. She's impressed.

At night JJ had a meeting with our new and young director of photography, that's another thing JJ is doing, taking himself out of directing the photography, as he did in Jane's movie. He wants to be a hundred percent dedicated to direct the movie. During their meeting JJ found out that the young man's father played the bass in the same band JJ played the drums in, way, way back, 1968, in fact, when JJ was very young. A rock band that did covers of Cream, Hendrix, etc. JJ's favorite song then was Crimson and Clover. Small world. This young man is JJ's son's friend, they play together in a band too, he's a drummer and JJ's son is a singer, a good one. He's singing next week in Rockiem. A rock opera based in Mozart's requiem. He sings tenor, I think.

One night, not long ago, in a birthday party, this young man came up to JJ and told him how he would love to work in one of his movies. JJ is very well known here.

JJ saw the kid's work and he liked it. So the kid got the job. Tonight they were discussing the cameras, the lenses, the technical stuff.

The air in the home/studio is dense with excitement, we can all feel it. JJ has a thing. He feels when things are going to happen or not and he didn't have that feeling last week. He felt it wasn't going to happen but didn't tell anyone except Jane who was very worried about having to start last Sunday. Jane was very relieved.

Now he does have that feeling, that yes, it's happening, and it's making everyone feel very, very anxious and happy at the same time.

After the meeting JJ and Jane sat to watch a movie, eat hamburgers and drink beer. They cuddled up in the couch to watch a movie. JJ wants Jane to relax, she's been working for a month with the costumes plus the rest of the production. Long, dedicated hours to make sure all the details are in place. Mila said to JJ. "Es capisima" which is slang for "She's the greatest". The young cinematographer, walks in the flat, takes a look at the costumes hanging on the wall. He says wow... JJ comments: "she did it all by herself" and walks away to buy the hamburgers. The cinematographer comments to Jane. "Que capisima". Jane doesn't know what it means. JJ clears it for her later on. She's happy, she likes to be appreciated. JJ is very proud and he tells her. It makes her day, she's ready to relax.

The night is over and everyone is going to bed with one thing in mind. The cameras will start rolling.

Ralphus, thanks again for posting another set of clips of another one of my list of almost unknown and forgotten rape movies, "Act Of Violence" with the woman who speeded up my puberty, Elizabeth Montgomery.

For a broadcast TV movie in its time, 1979, it was pretty intense. I remember it like it was yesterday. Seeing Liz being grabbed by 3 punks into an apartment hallway with her legs flying was an instant turn-on. And then being menaced by one punk determined to use her as a fucktoy, by chasing her into an elevator and start ripping off her clothes gave me a vicarious thrill. The actor who played her assailant must have paid the producers to have that role.

There's another part in the film that's not as intense as those scenes were but implied her being in sexual jeopardy. Montgomery plays a TV reporter and for one assignment she goes to a prison to interview a young black convict. He flirts with her even blowing her a kiss and suggests they get together That poker face she makes after hearing that was worthwhile. In addition to being sexy, she really was a damn good actress.

I wish this had been a feature film. I can imagine it being more graphic if it had been, but I guess Montgomery was unwilling to do nudity. Pity, because I could also easily imagine her doing the role that Yvette Mimieux did in "Jackson County Jail" in which Mimieux isn't shy about showing a lot of skin and being aggressively manhandled.

So for all you folks, who've never seen it, give it a look. You might enjoy it.

The best parts, in my view, were the scenes where the Jennifer character is being intimidated, and forced to degrade herself by simulating blowjobs on a bottle and on a gun.

By contrast, the rapes -- those that are shown -- are nothing special, and Jennifer is still wearing her top while the rapes occur. As Vince noted, the only time we see full nudity is after the rapes have ended, and Jennifer is wandering away.

Sarah Butler, who plays Jennifer, is definitely a hottie -- she reminded me a bit of Holly Hunter, back in the days when Holly Hunter was hot. Too bad she didn't show more skin when it really mattered -- probably some wussy studio exec was worried about perverts showing up and enjoying the rape scenes (where do people get these ideas?).

In my view, it shouldn't matter where this remake comes to your town or not, as I would recommend waiting for the DVD. There's some good stuff in the film but not enough to justify a trip to the theatre.

I also saw a trailer today for the next Saw film, which is going to be in 3-D. Not sure if this one has any GIMP moments -- it's hard to be certain from the trailer, but there are some female victims, and one looks pretty hot. This one opens Oct. 29.

Ralphus, thanks again for showing clips of another almost forgotten mainstream rape movie "The Guardian". Since this was a HBO movie, it could be more graphic than a broadcast TV movie and the clips prove it. Actress Kate Lynch never became a household name, but she gave an outstanding performance in that movie. She faces, for a woman, a fate even worse than rape which is having your rape being witnessed by your own child. Her rapist is literally between her legs and she pleads with her young son to leave the basement where the assault is occurring so as not to witness the trauma of his Mommy's violation. That was an Emmy-worthy performance in my opinion.

So you fellow GIMPers check it out if you can find it somewhere. I'd like to know if you agree with me.

Well, that's the problem with mainstream movies today...they're trying to cater to a wide audience instead of making a film for perverts and sick fucks. Maybe I'm biased, since I am a pervert (or maybe I'm a sick fuck...tomato, tomahto), but the original I Spit On Your Grave is a movie that's all about the rape scenes. That's the reason why it's famous, or infamous. People who like rape scenes are the core audience for a film like that. Why not play that up and try to top the original?

Yeah, that aspect of the film is disturbing, and maybe some people will stay away if they feel uncomfortable, but why tone things down? It's a horror film; it's supposed to be shocking. And from what I understand, the fates of the men in the second half of the remake were graphically shown. They could have made it like the original film...an equal opportunity offender.

While we're talking about rape scenes, allow me to vent about an aspect of movies that just infuriates me. Today I checked out the 1975 Italian giallo thriller The Killer Must Kill Again, starring the gorgeous Spanish actress Cristina Galbo. It's a decent film, worth checking out, even though I mostly just fast-forwarded through it looking for the good parts.

The most controversial scene in the film occurs when Galbo, who plays a virgin in the movie, is confronted by the killer while alone in a house. Rather than kill her, he decides to rape her (that would have been my choice, as well). It's a fairly hot scene with lots of nudity and obviously, a gorgeous victim. So what's wrong? During the entire scene, the director cuts back and forth between a lovemaking session between another couple, rather than concentrating on the rape itself. The effect is almost like changing channels back and forth between two movies.

What kind of idiot does that? If I had the ability to edit DVDs, I would definitely take that film and surgically remove the cutaways and make my own version. But this is something the director should have done himself. Do I have to do all the work?

Does it bother anyone else when movies do that? It's almost like they're not even considering the pervert audience when they make their films. Hey, we're important, too. That's why I need to make my own films, so I can do it right.

BTW, I almost forgot to mention. After the rape, Galbo spends the last part of the film bound and gagged, even though there are, once again, too many cutaways to boring stuff like the rest of the story.

I hate it when directors cheat us out of a good rape, by cutaways, blackouts and editing tricks. I felt the same outrage from the film "Bullies" (not to be confused with "Bully". A rape occurs in silhouette. If you're going to have a rape in the film show the rape, damn it! I hate being teased in real life and I don't like it less because it's on film.

There's something unfair in which, to use the latest "I Spit on Your Grave" as a good example, that the rape scenes are rather ordinary, but on the revenge violence against the male perpetrators, the filmmakers are not hesitant to show the most explicit means of non-sexual torture.

BTW, that Cristina Galbo is hot. Hope there more pictures of her with little or no clothing on.

Gonzaullas: Thanks for the latest batch of YouTube offerings, although the censors deleted the Doomsday clip before I had a chance to take a look (fast little mothers, aren't they?). I've seen it before, though. It's one of the great mainstream scenes in recent years (and needless to say, a Ralphus Award winner).

I know what I want to see. Growing up with 80's horror, I enjoy the innocent, probably jailbait teenager chased down, tormented and ultimately killed. And, I hope there is lots of sex in-between.

But, alas, I don't produce what I want to see anymore. I produce what you want to see. Well, maybe not YOU. But, that is my hope. I have, over the years gone from creating things that I think up, to producing what my customers think up, and now, what they mostly pay for. Customs fund a lot of what I make and actually, that can be a good thing. I suspect people might get bored of my stories. Well, I didn't. Luckily, I have enough customs customers that share my twisted sense and taste for youth. Oh joy.

But, what is my point? Well, again, looking at this forum and watching my friend Max's frustration over producing what he thought would be something members here would like. Christ, he had poor Ginger in very real tears and pain the other day with a rope up her cunt weighted by a bucket of water--shit....it made me cringe. But, I digress..

When I see the cinematic samples that are put up of old, grainy 70's and 80's fair, I think maybe the crisp shot, HD, well lit, productions with digital audio are just too clean to give off that "dirty", "nasty" feeling that maybe some are looking for. "I Spit on Your Grave" is just that way. Before treatment, the scene might look like something less intense, but giving it the grain, saturated blacks, some bleach bypass, and shaky-shaky camera and it looks like some shit is happening. Perception. But, it works.

Another example is I took some pretty, clean footage of a nice shooting sequence I did, then made it look like it was shot on a crappy camera and recorded to warped VHS--added grain, distortion. People liked it. A lot. A couple thought it was real footage. Oops.

So, my question to you all is, does dirty matter? Would you buy well produced, sharp and well lit GIMP material if it "looked" more "retro"? Personally, I would love to do that. I can emulate just about any scene anyone wants to see, only being constrained by cost-prohibitive props or huge locations.

But, I know a GIMP scenes need none of that. I can tie a girl to a St. Andrews cross and run barb wire through per pussy while branding her with a cattle iron while she screams her head off. It will all be fake. It will all look real. Is that what someone wants? You name it. I can do it. I make movies.

So, with that longwinded pitch, I must admit that after moving into our new 6000sgft studio, we have a lot of work to do--a lot of sets we want to create and props we want to build. So, I am only doing customs for a while and am offering some great deals and specials. I love special effects. I love creating the feeling something is happening when it is not. Your larger point, that we GIMPers have very diverse tastes, is on the mark and I can understand how that would be frustrating to producers like yourself.

As far as the retro favorites, I would venture to say that it's not the grainy look that many GIMPers find interesting; rather, it's the way these scenes were performed in those days that we find favor with. That sort of anything-goes, freewheeling style with (mostly) good actresses and mean villains that lend excitement to the scene.

Remember also that many of these movies are out of print and we are left with only low-quality caps from videotapes, if we're lucky. We post 'em only 'cause we got 'em.

When I think of old reliables, I'm remembering how much those scenes "lit me up", to the extent that I was willing to put up with the washed-out colors, somewhat dim lighting and often cheap production values. But honestly -- and I think I speak for many here -- if modern, well-lit, crisply shot scenes were able to capture that same animus, you would have the kind of product that almost any GIMPer would enjoy. But I'd like to hear what others have to say.

There was a remake called "Macon County Jail" that was ruined by the casting of the androgynous Ally Sheedy in the lead role. Here's hoping that if there's another remake it'll be cast with someone that guys would actually want to stick it too. I nominate Jennifer Aniston. Although, frankly, I'd rather see it in hi-def since it's got a sharper picture. Just make sure the actor and actress are into it and sell the scene.

You're welcome. And tonight, caps from Stryker, one of the movies you named as being one of your old standbys. I just got through watching and capping this less than a half hour ago. Although I couldn't for the life of me figure out what you and Elkcreek found so great about this movie. It was a very hard movie to track down, number one, and from reading yours and Elkcreek's earlier descriptions, I think I got stuck with an edited copy.

For instance, you described the bondage scene as her being suspended and having her top ripped off. Then you said she hangs in the chains and her crying makes her breasts jiggle quite enticingly. Well, I saw the scene and on my copy, it's fairly short, and we see no boobage whatsoever. So that was obviously cut.

And as for the following rape scene, I almost missed it. Again, what I saw was very brief. I capped what I saw, but what I saw wasn't much. I hate censorship. The movie is apparently out of print. Anybody know if there's a more complete copy somewhere?

The name of the actress, by the way, is Andrea Savio, who did little else in film. However, she does have a claim to fame: she was married to Tony Curtis for eight years (his fourth wife).

Yeah, but the key term here is "a number of years ago". I wish I had a Time Machine and could go back (hopefully with Weena by my side) and rent the original VHS. Amazon has some used ones on sale for about 5 bucks, might be worth the investment. I did some research. Apparently, Stryker has been put on DVD as part of a Grindhouse collection, but the new DVD copy runs 80 minutes while the original ran 83. Someone on the IMDB said the DVD has the rape scene shortened and replaced with other footage and obviously, some of the nudity was edited out. My question is why remaster a film to a more permanent format like DVD and then remove the only reason to buy the movie in the first place?

Anybody seen the new version of "Nikita"? I hardly ever watch TV so I've never seen it, but that's a show that's rife with possibilities, since it's a remake of the "La Femme Nikita" series with Peta Wilson series and Peta got bound and tortured quite a few times. I caught that Nikita scene while out of town Thursday, damn I wish I could take my DVR on the road. Does anyone know how to turn that clip into a movie file? As far as the quality of the scene, while I'm still hoping for more from Nikita, and I think Maggie Q is quite fine. They can do a whole show or whole series for that matter torturing Lyndsy Fonseca. She is exquisite and right in there with Rachel Bilson, Natalie Portman, and Izabela Miko as the girls in need of special treatment.

I use a site called StreamTransport (see URL) -- it downloads streams from everywhere I've tried it. It saves as flv, but there are tons of programs to convert that to wmv, avi, mpg or whatever.

So today we had 1081 hits to the site and zero posts. None. I would have thought at least that Margot's great post would have inspired some discussion, but apparently not. Maybe the pictures she posted are too vanilla? I trust once we get some bondage/torture caps that this place will perk up. I will say it again: this could turn out to be the greatest Inquisition film EVER MADE in terms of GIMP material, and it's being filmed right now! Forget Inquisition Live; some of their stuff is good, but way too much of it is poorly done and puts me to sleep. Mark of the Devil? Maybe that's one to beat. Can anybody name an Inquisition type film that got it right and stands out as being especially good?

Ralphus - "Mark of the Devil" should be the standard by which any inquisition flick is judged - almost forty years old and still stands the test of time - I can't think of another that has come close - Roger Corman's take on "Pit and the Pendulum" had a couple of decent moments but the overall film just left me cold - even the BATS scenes were rather ho-hum - could be we're seeing the passing of the Gimp Sceptre as we speak.

Having said that, being a fan of this forum myself and all that it entails, is it hypocritical to say that I am a little uncomfortable with the whole concept and don't really know why?!? (But I would still go if I was in the area . . .)

I remember as a kid seeing "Viva Maria" on TV and getting totally turned on by the near-torture of a gagged Brigitte Bardot in the defective dungeon. Pretty tame compared to what I've seen since then, but a nice childhood memory nonetheless.

Yeah, not even close to Mark of the Devil in terms of intensity, but I'll bet a lot of people have never heard of that movie. I mean, this was Brigitte Bardot, one of the all-time great babes, and she got tied up (a few times), gagged, nearly tortured and then put in front of a firing squad. The only thing that kept that from being a classic GIMP scene is that the torture scenes were played for comedic purposes (the head crusher breaks because it's old and worn out as they're using it on Bardot). Still, it gets bonus points for the casting of Bardot, really the only thing she ever did GIMP-wise in her career.

From the preview pics, it appears those clothespins don't stay on for long. They obviously weren't working. Otherwise, The Secretary looks like a pretty impressive clip - though "paddling" with a riding crop is also a bit wimpy for my tastes. If the collector ultimately disposes of his victims, why wouldn't he have some real fun with them while they're alive? There's no need for safe slap and tickle games if the girl is going to be killed. Or is this vid rougher than it appears? Guess I'll just have to buy it to find out.

As for vibrators, I generally agree with Ralphus that they are a no-no if the victim is enjoying them being used on her. However, what if she is being forced to orgasm against her will? I'm in the midst of writing a custom script in which the heroine, among other ordeals, finds herself being stimulated unwillingly. In fact, her arousal could cause her demise. This idea was used in Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks when a captured spy is forced to orgasm in order to set off the explosives which kill her. This is one of my favorite scenes, despite the victim obviously feeling more pleasure than pain. What do folks here think of this form of "torture"?

The Jail: A Women's Hell: This film is very hard to find but worth seeking out if you're jonesing for those Philippine shot WIP films from the 1970's. There are some bootleg copies online, but I managed to score a DVD from this place. It's a lot gorier than the Pam Grier flicks of yore and riffs quite a bit on some of the cannibal horror films which Bruno Mattei also directed. Despite the scenery chewing performances, it's a pretty grim outing.

In fact, there's another whipping scene at the beginning of the movie which kind of captures the mood: some disobedient prisoner known only as "Number 27" is pulled out of the always present "hot box" and strung up between the posts to receive twenty lashes as an example to the other inmates. Unfortunately, the girl died in the box, so all there is to whip is her corpse. No matter… she's stripped anyway and her rather unresponsive body is given the full treatment. Does a scene qualify for the Whipping Scenes Database if the victim is dead?

Inquisition Films: Like everyone else here, I'm eagerly awaiting the completion of the BBIF, whatever it will be called when it's done. And yes, it's hard to think of any previous inquisition movies which can match Mark of the Devil for sheer depravity. That said, there is some good stuff in Paul Naschy's Inquisition, which had the best nipple-ectomy until Chaos came along. Also, the rack scenes in The Inquisitor are pretty impressive.

I don't mind the forced orgasm as long as it's non-consensual. The problem is that most actresses cannot sell scenes that mix pleasure with terror and disgust, so it often doesn't work. Having the victim know that cumming could kill her is a nice touch, and may make it easier for the actress to convince viewers that she is fighting off an orgasm.

wack: I dig the Chambers of Horror! I particularly like the room with the multiple video images so you could see the different scenes going on at one time. That place was clearly modeled after Hostel: Part 2 and that's a good idea. Heck, why shouldn't haunted houses incorporate bondage and torture themes, since actual horror movies do it all the time. I haven't been to a haunted house for decades but this is one I would check out for sure.

I'm like Brutus in that I only want to see it if it's nonconsensual, and I've seldom ever seen a case where it works, at least in bondage videos. Too often it looks like she's enjoying it, and I don't want to hear even an inkling of pleasure from my bound victims.

A few days ago while the site was down, Jane wrote me and gave me a quick update on how the Inquisition film was going. I don't think she'll mind that I share part of her e-mail with the rest of the gang here:

We shot the first scene in the dungeon on Friday. I had to cry, so I really threw myself into it. Apparently, I was so convincing that everyone felt sad afterward. I had a hard time shaking it off, and then later in the day I had to shoot a scene in which Francisca and my character are happy and playful. Method acting is great, for the viewer.

FYI I slept 10 hours last night to make up for the sleep deprivation during the week. All set to be tortured this afternoon.

I'll try to get you a vidcap of the crying scene, I know you have a thing for that. Let's face it, so do I, or I wouldn't play the scene like that.

Today, if things go according to schedule, will be the day they roast Jane on the spit over hot coals with lots of smoke. My dream scene is about to get shot! Jane told me that during pre-production that they had to pay a hefty fee to the city of Mallasa (where they're shooting the roasting scene) to have the smoke. Normally this would not be an issue, but Bolivia was having horrible forest fires at the time and the entire country was filled with smoke so they were trying to keep that at a minimum. Basically she had to bribe a bunch of people to get a permit.

A question to Jane or any other member of the Red Feline crew who would care to answer it. When doing a roasting over a spit with lots of smoke scene as Ralphus describes it, how do you handle the danger of smoke inhalation for the actress(es) involved? I can comment about the safety concerns I read about. We do this professionally, so we're taking all necessary precautions to keep our stars safe from real harm. Both "victims" are very talented and courageous, but not foolish and we love them dearly, so, don't worry, they are the first concern.

We're not going to put her in any kind of dangerous situation. We make movies, we don't do this for real. Right? She will be uncomfortable. It will look awful for her and all, but she will be safe, just like yesterday when she was suspended by her wrists, shackles on her ankles, being whipped, a lot. The way she was going on you would've think it was totally real, but no. She was uncomfortable, with a bit of pain, the lashes, after all, are leather real, but she was not in real danger.

Jane has the last word as far as her safety is concerned. If she says "take me down" we take her down. If she says "stop" we stop. If she says "take five" we do it and if she says "fuck you all" we know we overstepped our bounds. We haven't heard that from her yet.

I'm preparing a big update with pictures but time is always short, now that we're on the set a lot of the time. I'll have it ready soon, with many pictures and if you're all lucky, with pictures of today's shoot. That would be something else right?

See, in the first clip, when Brad Dourif is kneeling next to her and running his finger on her face, he was actually rubbing the spit in. Which, with the strap gag and her outlandishly sensual hair and makeup, is why this has to be the kinkiest thing I've ever seen in a huge budget mainstream Genre film since Crimes of Passion.

I would propose that some of my GIMP friends in the U.S. might want to read it, although they may be too scared to see what is taking place north of the border.

Really have to wonder how someone in authority can find something sickening and glorifying at the same time. Odd to assume that the artist is glorifying something that is presented as sickening. It seems like that is solely the interpretation of the person who is sickened. Am I missing something?

It occurred to me that a naked attractive black girl being lynched, or a hot naked Jewish girl being dragged off to the ovens after being used and abused, along with sexy naked witches being burned at the stake, are actually strong contenders for scenes from exploitation flicks and GIMP hall of fame video clips. Clearly, racism has nothing to do with it. It is not the ethnicity of the victim that makes it a titillating scenario, it is the ethnicity that determines the plot device. I'm pretty sure most GIMPers would be just as satisfied seeing a witch being lynched, a black girl being used and abused and dragged off to the ovens, and a Jewish girl being burned at the stake. Racism has nothing to do with it. GIMP is transcendent.

And here's my Real World contribution to the zaniness of modern society. This is a billboard that I saw in my travels through the benighted state of Texas, which is certainly in the running for Highest Number of Crazies per capita, although in this day and age that is a hotly contested title.

The very first thing I noticed was the quote marks, making me wonder (in a wholly rhetorical manner) where that particular quote shows up in the Bible. My suspicion is that this is the little-known original utterance from John 8:7 that was later replaced with "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."

A Canadian: It seems that the Quebec police couldn't find any bodies so they're trying to salvage their investigation by resorting to this obscenity crap.

According to this article on the Crime Library site, quite a number of crimes were committed based on movies. The common link among the perpertrators is that they were either drug addicts or complete lunatics to begin with. Why should everyone have to suffer because of the actions of a few imbeciles?

Do I read this right? A man named Donald Smith has already been convicted in Ontario...for making films! Not for murdering naked women, but for making films about it! Probably the most erotic subject I can think of when it comes to art. And just because ONE practicing Wiccan objects, they are considering changing the label? Has anyone seen a movie called Borderline Cult? A reviewer offers these highlights:

- A woman is strangled then has her face mutilated with needle nose pliers.

- A woman is strung up, strangled and stabbed repeatedly with a folding pocket saw.

- A woman is hit from behind with a pig nosed shovel and killed by repeated blows from a pick axe.

- A woman is tied to pallets, has a plastic bag placed over her head, is severely beaten, then has five meat skewers driven into her head.

- A woman is later stabbed repeatedly in the back with a folding pocket saw as she tries to crawl away.

- A woman is subdued and her breasts are mutilated with a burlap needle. She is finally killed by making her drink weed killer through a funnel.

- A woman is stabbed in the back of the neck with a meat skewer that comes out of her mouth.

I just have one question: What’s a “pig-nosed shovel”?

What's truly sad is that the poor artist will likely spend his life savings trying to defend himself against the small-minded people who are in power in Canada.

Actually, this speaks to the cautionary point I've raised on this forum before. If there is a lesson to be learned from Canada (and from Europe, I believe), it is this: once state censorship becomes an accepted part of the bureaucracy, watch out. Once that happens, it doesn't really matter which small-minded people are in power -- the state's actions to safeguard against "obscene" materials will continue regardless.

In Canada, we alternate between Liberal and Conservative governments (we don't come up with fancy names, we just more or less call them what they are) but it never seems to matter. The censorship rules are now part of the regular operations of the state, and the game doesn't change regardless of which party wins office.

The one hope, I think, is that our courts appear to be getting a bit more liberal-minded when it comes to morality issues. As the story mentions, we have had a ruling that says it is OK to run a swingers' club, and at the provincial level (in Ontario) a recent court ruling struck down laws around prostitution.

The courts may be our only hope. But that's not much hope. As Ralphus notes, anyone trying to defend himself has to be prepared to spend his life savings fighting the system.

A few years back, when Customs seized a couple of the ZFX movies I had ordered from the U.S., I knew I wasn't going to spend my life savings fighting the system -- it's much more economical to work around the system.

Of course, that leads to piracy....

This is not at all surprising. Most criminals learn early (as perhaps do we all) that when caught, the simplest defence is to blame someone/something else. As a result, bad parenting, porn, twinkies, dingos and violent movies are trotted out in often successful attempts to absolve the guilty. Of course, savvy perpetrators think ahead. Stage your next murder like a Saw death trap and clearly you can't be held accountable for your actions: "It was the movie Your Honor… the movie inspired me to do it." What is surprising is just how often this sort of thing works.

Absolutely. As a Canadian myself, I was able to follow this in the news, from Smith's original arrest in 2000 to his conviction two years later. Unsuccessful appeals followed. In the mid to late 1990's Donald Smith was well known in the online erotic horror community as Dr. Don. He was among the first low-budget video producers to incorporate digital effects into fetish clips geared for distribution on the internet. He was active when the Necrobabes site was at its height, and I recall some of his videos being sold there.

What's most amazing is that the Dr. Don videos are among the tamest available in the erotic horror genre. They never involve torture, cruelty or bondage. There are no hardcore scenes nor are the women portrayed in a degrading fashion. The only violence in a typical clip consists of two or three bullets to the torso. The only sex involves the victim being naked. It beggars belief that this guy went to jail and had his life utterly destroyed for depicting scenes which don't come close to the level of sex and sadism in films playing at the local multiplex.

If I were Remy Couture, I would be very, very afraid.

Over at Crux Foundation you posted that the BBIM's expected release date is March of next year. My god! That's five months away! Just because you are making a film with industry-level production values doesn't mean you get the luxury of an industry-level production schedule. You must realize your customers expect you and your team to complete post and have a finished movie ready for download no more than a week after shooting wraps.

What? You say that's not possible? That a quality production takes time? Clearly your company is under-staffed and unionized. I hereby volunteer the scab services of all the members of this board to help you get the job done fast. You should see the amazing things Ralphus can do with Final Cut Pro.
