No problem. Personally I'm more interested in Pacific campaign (maybe because I've always looked at Germany defeat with mixed feelings, considering the horrors a victorious Red Army brought to our lands, many in Eastern Europe would have preferred a German victory). I mean, regardless of the adversities in the war against Germans, there's no comparison to the sheer ferocity of the Guadalcanal battle. As for the Marine fliers that were keeping the Jap boats away, those were supermen.

After watching an episode of CSI Miami where the attractive female investigator is briefly in the hands of the evil guys before being conveniently saved , I couldn't wonder how a ruthless crime syndicate would have treated our girl.

Nope. The quote was not from the Afrika Korps period, but when Rommel was in charge of the defense after D-Day, before operation Valkyrie. And it was indeed about Shermans.
