Glad you liked it, wulf. Today's Cruel Bastard Award, huh? Who are some previous winners?
Jucundus, Oz, Artur AE, Arcas, Quoom, Frog, Roadrunner, Doe 71, Madbob aka JDR, Zell, would be the top 10.
I'm honored to be in that list, very good company.
Yes the CBA is a very competitive category, but you all have maxed out my erecto-meter at one time or another... more than once actually. So yeah... I call 'em like I see 'em. :)

Yep, it is a good list, even more so since Arcas and Zell did their work with really OLD versions of Daz Studio and Poser. Trying (and failing!) to emulate their work kept me in a constant state of depression until Daz came up with Iray rendering. That made it obvious that the critical element in Arcas and Zell's work is that they had figured out how to to render scenes much better than I was able to. I still marvel at their work (and their cruelty!!).

As for Roadrunner, he came along later than the other two, but I still don't know how he got the results that he did.

Oh, well. I'll struggle along with my present setup of Daz and Iray. Switching to another rendering engine just seems too much of a learning curve . . . and very likely too expensive!

Your work is on an equal plain as theirs imo. Your 'struggling along' is creating beautiful images that are very prized in my collection, and I appreciate you sharing them.

Well, at least my efforts prove interesting from one visitor, so here's another medieval effort. It was inspired by a Russian artist called Markiz. His artistic talents aren't the greatest, but in the attached drawing, he portrayed the suffering and despair of an impaled victim. I'm not sure what the little guy to the left is -- maybe the head torturer's son who's being instructed in a "trade."

Anyway, I decided to alter it a little and show the wife of an unsuccessful revolution leader and her daughter being executed in a dungeon similar to Markiz's. The well-dressed noblewoman (Duchess, maybe) in the background is just checking on the status of the condemned women, since she knows that she would have been consigned to this dungeon if the revolution had been successful and might well have been sitting on a similar cone while the head torturer had his way with her bare body.

Beautifully done Bleu, amazing detail and the flames are awesome. But the whip marks are really, really good with the reddish discoloration and bruising around them.
I really like this one and thanks for sharing.

I know you didn't ask me, but just happened do a small arc of an inquisition rack scene. Maybe you like it.

Preparation.

The act.

The poor girl can't walk anymore so a wooden stretcher is brought to carry her back to the cell.
Hey, JD, I really love the first scene, where Marion removes her clothing before she's racked. Is there any chance you might treat us to a more extended sequence as she's bound to the rack and it's slowly tightened until (I assume since she can't walk afterwards) her arms and legs are dislocated? That would take a while if done properly, especially if the interrogators used hot irons a dozen times or so on her stretched body. You know how impressed I am with your ability to do the hot irons on an interrogation suspect!

Whaddya say, buddie?

Oh, wow! This is embarassing! It WAS posted and I didn't remember it! Definitely a senior moment!

Thanks for the gracious reminder, JD!

Used to make fun of seniors (mentally) until I start forgetting things myself. And I dont have nearly the mileage for that!
