912 at Videodrome

Post by Arcas »

Hey all... long time no post! I'm not making any bold proclamations that I'm out of retirement or anything (I'm not), but it seems like every January (for reasons I can't fathom) I take out the tools and play a bit. Maybe it's just to make sure I still can make stuff? Whatever the case, this year I got in my head to do a lil' series of renders. We'll see how far it actually goes - no promises.

So the idea is this (because it's almost as much fun to come up with a rationale as it is to make the pics - at least for me). The time is 2006, shortly after Insex pulled its plug. The place is the dark web. With no Insex work, model Anne-Marie (aka 912) finds herself adrift. As we all know she hasn't been seen (much if at all) since Insex's closing. This story posits a "why".

Anne-Marie gets an offer to "go out in style" by a group on the dark web who've modeled their output and style on Cronenburg's "Videodrome" broadcast. If you've seen the movie (and I'm sure 99.9% of you have) you know what the offer entails. My series will attempt to chronicle the 912 webcast, which took place over a progressively more grueling three days. Again... I'm not sure how far I'll get, but a good response with lotsa chatter certainly can't hurt the odds of me adding a few more images. And while I can't guarantee anything, if you have ideas, pitch away! I'm thinking things like our ole pal Ousuk would have written... (mwah-haa-haa).

My first three pics really tease (so forgive me posting this in the "tortured women" thread... we'll get there!). All use my trusty 912 model in DAZ Studio, with recent souped-up tweaks. So here's the first one... Anne-Marie lounging around set for promos, teasing what's to come. Hopefully I'll post something new every few days. Sorry it won't be a barrage as with a lot of A.I. output. I'm old school and this stuff just takes time, at least if you wanna cross all the T's and dot the I's.

I know you said you are still 'retired', but your return, even if on a limited basis, is huge news. Everyone in our community is going to be very excited by this news. I am one of the serious collectors that treasures all of your work from the past, and I'm looking forward to whatever your might share in the future.
And you could not have chosen a better star for this production, so good luck with this project. I suspect it's going to be very good.

I'll give it my best shot. Thanks for the enthusiastic hopes. We'll see how long my energy and inspiration last. As alway my personal challenge is to try and not just cover old ground.

Hey, wow - you do some creatively devious stuff. What goes around, comes around. It's really great to see someone working in physical media, these days. The beauty there is you're imagination is really unrestrained.

I would love to take credit for those lovely images with my name on them, but the AI work is not mine. 40 years ago I made some line drawings from bondage photos and never shared them anywhere until several months ago, when I posted them here and on the Crux forum. Some other artists and AI creators used some of them (with my enthusiastic permission) to make AI images. I only asked that my name be left on them along with theirs too. On the one you saw wasn't signed by the AI artist, hence the confusion.

This is my original drawing.

That would be great. I'm pretty sure I have some your early artwork and always wondered if there were more.
