She was told that her sentence is the customary 4 hours on the horse in this precarious equilibrium. Second time recidivists are getting an extra stone. Every hour she's inspected to make sure she's still on the metal ridge. If she falls sideways due to lack of pain control, there's no way she could get herself back in the original position unassisted. Should that happen, she's getting an extra hours and she's put back on in the middle of the hellish edge. She heard stories about women spending a full day on the serrated edge, trying to put 4 hours in equilibrium.

During the night Silver Moon helped the pretty paleface prisoner escape. Her tribe was not pleased. Now the young, naive squaw is about to pay a hefty price...
