So I resorted to a crude editing tool (no photoshop ATM) but couldn't precisely cut out the whip. Inpainting again did not improve much.

Here's what I made of it with Photoshop but if I had the original pics on separate layers I probably could do better.
Anyway, I hope you like it

BTW, by mirroring the Xena pic she became left handed but I guess nobody cares

I based it on Xena's eyes (where she was looking).
Upon further viewing, I noticed the lighting is incorrect, comparing the two figures, so call it a WIP.

I don't mind the lighting so much, but should Xena, standing at least 3-4 steps behind, Callisto, not appear smaller?

You are absolutely correct. I addressed that (to an extent) in this version. Still crude, but more "correct".

I had the same thoughts as yyy02, so I widened the image with Callisto using PS generative fill.
That gave me more space to add Xena on the left hand side of the picture.
I also replaced the whip by one that was bend and thus shorter and added some motion blur to make it a bit more realistic.

I'm not really an expert in doing photo manips with Photoshop but I like it, so maybe I should practice a bit more
One thing I have been looking for without much success so far is how to draw realistic whip marks in Photoshop.
Any suggestions on this topic are always welcome (feel free to send a PM).
