I used to have a couple of the Erotic Violence vids on 8mm reels courtesy of good old RDF Co. They really good stuff back then, and never failed to work for me.
I think it depended on the girl and the situation. Some girls breasts had some veins running close to the surface of her breasts. Some of these veins had the propensity to bleed with the puncture of a needle.
In these rare instances where you got a "bleeder", you could pretty much tell when it happened naturally, as it would happen when JB would initially prick the breast and maybe remove the needle to allow it to bleed. Plus I seem to remember JB gripping the breast to encourage it to bleed after he applied the needle, in those cases.
I think most of the rest of them were fake blood applied after the fact.
I find that blue tracery of veins under the skin of breasts pretty sexy, btw.
And yeah, the difference between the HOM films and the lighting and "grittiness" of those Erotic Violence/Perversion films was night and day. Well, that and they weren't available in the U.S.
