Even though by this point in the war (March 27, 1942) the cannons were pretty far away, I'm going to take that to mean: All the hard work I put into getting my sets ( backgrounds ) period and credible for the story, payed off and they take you there ( to Auschwitz )

For clothing, they were given the bloody uniforms of dead Soviet POWs with no undergarments.
These young women arrived at a pivotal moment in the concentration camp’s history. At first, it had been a Nazi prison for Poles of every ethnicity, then for Soviet POWs. By 1942, the Nazis were focusing on gathering up Jews.

Sara knew there three heads to shave before it would be her turn, she wouldn't be able to catch up with Alona.
Almost everyone who went to any concentration or POW camp in any nation at that time was first shaved. The reason is because one of the most terrifying specters for any power controlling a large, confined prison population was Typhus. Once it took hold it was very difficult to stop. There was always the absolute terror that it would spread to the civilian population. And almost no one had access to Penicillin in those days.
In addition, there was always a massive lice problem - and lice know no boundaries. They go for the guards as well as the prisoners. To help keep this problem at bay shaving helps a great deal. This is why camps also had regular de-lousing procedures. Zyklon-B, the gas used to kill people later on in German camps had been used for at least a decade before the war by the Americans as a lice-killing agent at immigration ports all across the Americas. While it is humiliating and dehumanizing to be shaved and certainly the Germans made full use of that aspect of shaving it was also done for very necessary sanitation reasons.

The Slovak woman were not the first Jews in the camp, local Jews from the surrounding area had been rounded up as slave labor when the Nazis first took over the camp, some of them had been there almost 2 years and a few of the Polish women had been assigned to Block 10.

卐Sommer Müller, 23 yrs, from a poor family in Berlin raped at 13 by her father she started working the streets at 14, at 15 she bought a pistol and murdered her father in his drunken sleep at 2 in the afternoon, at 17 she started robbing the Jewish Johns instead of servicing them, she knew they wouldn't call the cops. When she was 18 one of them put up a fight and she had to shoot him, she got 10 years in Ravensbrück where the criminal inmates were encouraged to, and rewarded for brutalizing the political inmates, she was high up on the list of those to be sent to Auschwitz to help with the Slovak women.
✡Katarzyna (Kat) 22 yrs, from a privileged family from the Selecia region, at 16 she moved to Oswiecim to work in her uncles law office, at 18 she was running the office, at 20 she was arrested by the Germans along with the rest of the Jews in town and interned in Auschwitz, her proficiency in both Polish and German along with her impeccable hand writing and office skills got her working in the office at block 10 and not in the quarry, a position she guarded but with a guilt load.

Alona was still freaking out a bit about the tatoo as she walked into the dressing room, so far it was the only thing they had done to her that was permanent, her hair would grow back.

The killing of prisoners was also accompanied by research into the changes that occur in the human organism as a result of starvation – in particular, liver atrophy (“braune Atrophie”). This research was carried out at Auschwitz Concentration Camp by Dr. Johann Paul Kremer, professor at the University of Münster, where he lectured on anatomy and human genetics. At the Block No. 28 clinic in the main camp, he carried out assessments of prisoners attempting to gain admission to the hospital. Many of them were at the point of exhaustion, in the “Musselman” state, in the final stages of starvation to death. Kremer ordered most of them killed by phenol injection. Kremer selected prisoners who struck him as particularly good experimental material, and questioned them just before their deaths, as they lay on the autopsy table awaiting injection, about such personal details as their weight before arrest and any medicines they had used recently. In some cases, he ordered these prisoners photographed. Before their bodies were cold, they were subjected to autopsies and slides were made for Kremer of the liver, spleen, and pancreas.
