To me girdles (aka foundation garments) is in a whole different category from everyday bra and panties (which are little more than a nuisance imo) for a couple of reasons. First, I do find them sexy and there is a bit of nostalgia involved there I'm sure, and second, I would very much enjoy applying and very thorough beating over the girdle with a paddle or club, then removing the garment to reveal the pretty colors underneath.

As for removing the girdle, a very sharp knife or industrial electric shears should make short work of that.

Strapping them face down and using the circular table saw is very effective for girdle removal. Also, it scares the crap out of em, and they'll agree to anything to get off that table.
