Much longer resistivity path = higher resistance = less current = less intense, or no effect at all. (or voltage must be increased).
Much better to use a separate (bipolar) electrode clamp at each point (there are three but you can find more).

I always wanted to experiment with 110V versus 220V. If the gimp is incompacitated there are always more replacements at hand.
