JD & LL proudly present: the Cold and the Brave

Post by LLL »

... or more simply "Merida's story" as JD wants to call it (he doesn't share my predilection for puns and word games).

A small premise: a couple of months ago JD sent me a preview of a new pic he made, asking me if I could provide a brief text. In his view the portrayed girl was Triss, form the Witcher universe. I did not recognize her (he was using a new model) and so I penned down a brief text, less than a hundred words, identifying the girl - who as you will see was going through some inconveniences - as Merida, the red haired Disney princess.

JD, be he ever blessed, liked my text well enough to produce more pics. I in turn produced more text. One thing lead to another, and we ended with a not-so-short story and several dozen pics. Today I start sharing the result with you.

The Wheel of Ryme (I)

Venturing south on her own to celebrate her eighteenth birthday had turned out not to be such a good idea. For dinner, Merida had shot a hare, proudly congratulating herself on taking down the swift animal with her first arrow. At sunrise, she had been surprised in her sleep by a small hunting party. It turned out she was in the properties of some English baron. And that the penalty for poaching – the bones and leftovers of the animal clear evidence - was death. Her protestations of being of royal blood were met with laughter, and the baron decided to teach this fiery haired wench a lesson for lying before taking her to his castle, where she would be judged. A nearby watermill provided just the ideal opportunity.

All this went through Merida's mind, when for the second time she emerged, her lungs screaming for air.

In the distance she heard the scorning voice of the baron: "they tell me the Scottish are tough. I bet with my falconer here that you would survive thirty spins of the wheel. Do not disappoint me, I would hate to miss the opportunity to have you as a guest in my dungeons!"

Really excellent work, LLL & JD. I'm sure she'll make it into the dungeon alive and ready for the really serious tortures available there!

Looking forward to more.

I have one of those awful memorie voids ATM... which movie or book was the quote "and so it begins" from?

BTW hope the way I posted it on AU is to your liking. I fear many will look superficially and believe the artwork is mine, but I tried to state as clearly as possible that it's yours.

The tread I opened on cruxforums strangely is not yet approved after several hours...

Excellent stuff, LLL and JD.

As I didn't know who Merida is, we sat with my wife yesterday to watch Brave.

Carry on with the torture, please!

Middle L is silent.

After the thread will run it's course, I'll add the frames that fell to the cutting room's floor. I had more fun doing those than the actual frames used here. Much to the desperation of esteemed LL who couldn't understand why I'd rather spend time depicting Merida cooking a rabbit in the evening, lol. Instead of painful entertainement in dungeons. Guess that makes me a pervert among perverts. A double negation. :D A normie! :D :D

This must be a unicum! Instead of people looking on the web for dirty versions of the Disney princesses, you were lead to watch Disney starting at GIMP!
