As part of this project, I've spent a few minutes listening to some of these albums. They've done nothing to improve my assessment of the quality of "metal" music in general and "death metal" and other more extreme sub-genres in particular.

Agreed, Covers. I am a geezer, a hard rock/metalhead band member/fan. Metal can be viable source of rock music, but you won't find it here.

Sorry but these guys take "gargle rock" (my term for these proponents of the genre), to a new destination. What lyrics is he trying to sing? To my ears, it comes across as "Eeee eee, doir doir doir..."

Imo, no wonder they have to resort to shock cover art to sell the music.
