The Road To The Cross Begins

Image

The first Friday of August was not as cold in La Paz as the previous weeks, better yet, the sun was warming the bodies of the three leading ladies as they changed their garments in front of the large windows in our HQ.

Once all dressed up in their white tunics, they went to the set in the next room, which was recently tiled, to begin recording the Pitch Video for the fundraising campaign for the Female Christ film Seditiosa.

They had some scripted lines but they also improvised a bit, as directed by Jac, the lord and master of the set, when the cats are not around.

Image

Thank you for the update and an interesting history lesson!
xso: You have come a long way since ‘RF on the cross’ movie, which gave me a ‘wow’ feeling when it was launched back then.I have now another ‘WOW’ feeling, I think this ‘Female Christ’ film will be a wonderful film and a milestone in your production row.
I am very eager to spread the news about this film, so I pray that the crowdfunding sites are operational a.s.a.p.

Good luck, I have a feeling that this film will be fantastic, and a huge success for you!

PS: Fellow CF cruxers! : I urge you to have your big piggy banks ready so that this project can become a reality!
When Red Feline On The Cross came out it had an impact that we didn’t really expect. Those were the early days of the internet and as a matter of fact we didn’t really know much about it. Jac found a site made by a woman who had an interesting book and it was offering it in her website. Jac asked her about how to make a website like that. She gave him some good tips about HTML language, for instance. So we prepared our first website, rfpix.com short for Red Feline Pictures, the name of our company. We had another film company, founded in 1992, dedicated to more mainstream fare, Pachamama Films.

In January 1998 we launched our website, offering our first movie and a month or so later we sold our first VHS copy of the film. That was a milestone, in our experience. Over two decades later, many, many films later, we are about to create another milestone in the history of cinema.

Image
joek0: Glad to hear that the 3 leading ladies for the new Female Christ movie will be Mila, Dani, and Simone. All 3 were great in Monxa Mala, especially Simone. The crux scene at the end of Monxa Mala with the 3 of them and 1 other actress was very well done. I can’t wait to see how Jac will top this at it is my most favorite crux scene by you guys so far.
Monxa Mala was a hard film to make for many reasons. It was going to be more like the first Maleficarum, with exterior scenes, and a different story. Jac was forced to make big changes because of many reasons, which I’m not going to discuss now, they were discussed in detail before.

Monxa Mala is a film where ALL female characters, all six of them, suffer tortures. Most of them either assist in the tortures or do the torturing themselves until their turn comes up.

The one that suffers the most was Simonne. She is continuously tortured even when someone else is suffering some extreme torture.

In a way, Simonne’s Christ like crucifixion was a good preparation for her next role with Jac, the female Chirst in the story.

Image

Dani worked in many films after Monxa Mala, on the Red Feline Pictures label, in the CruXtreme series and a couple of other movies. In CruXtreme III she suffers an intense crucifixion. She’s whipped, beaten, made to sit on spikes, and then to stand on those spikes, to then be scourged, suffer the strappado, breast torture with barbed wire, then impaling, and on and on until she’s nailed hand and feet …. and it doesn’t end there.

Image

Mila has suffered the cross in most of her movies, from the very first one, Maleficarum, where she made her debut under horrifying tortures, soon after she was crucified in Le Marquis de la Croix, after a lot of torture, then in Dead But Dreaming where she turns into a vampire after being nailed to a cross… Then in Justine, where she shares a public crucifixion with Amy and Bea. I can go on and on as well.

Mila is wondering what else can happen to her after all those very different crucifixions but Jac is sure she’s going to look exceedingly gorgeous all nailed up and naked up there on her new cross.

Image
LadyKiller: Are you going to do a resurrection scene?
No, as far as I know, unless the story becomes a Vampire movie, like Dead But Dreaming where the victims of cruel executions become vampires.

Seditiosa will end with the women dying on the cross. No resurrection, no decomposing bodies, nothing of the sort, no burials, no flaming funerals, nothing like that… a very straight forward tale of crucifixion in the very traditional way, except that no divine intervention takes place on this one. Not that I know of.
LadyKiller: I can do cgi crows pecking their eyes out when they’re dead lol. Maybe as the credits roll you can put in shots of their corpses in various stages of decomposition just to show the audience there is no happy ending.
I don’t think dying on a cross is a happy ending. The audience will experience the horrible scourging and via crucis of the three seditious women who are condemned to be crucified for their crimes.

Maybe at one point a bird takes out Judith’s eye or something. But that’s not exactly in the plans. It’s just a scripted possibility but so far, nothing has been said about that.
LadyKiller: Would you consider having the Female JC die with her eyes open in shock? Showing her shock of the process of Martyrdom

And yes, I think when she dies, her eyes can remain open, staring at the darkening sky or at the crowds before her. One of her followers will think she’s saying something… maybe.

Image
wanttoknowmore: Nice to hear you are FINALLY considering doing a Roman crux movie. Why it took this long is a mystery. You missed out on having Amy and an un-tattooed Mila to play parts. Simone is great, but the mass tattoos and piercings on the other girls just doesn’t fit. Maybe Amy can still be persuaded to return for this one. I will be frank however – I have my doubts that the crux scene will measure up. The last time we were promised a first rate crux scene, it was for Justine. To say it fell flat in that regard is an understatement. Please also do not get too bloody. I doubt the victim would survive to be crucified with some of the intense beatings portrayed.
Doing a Roman Crux movie takes some good amount of cash because of the costumes, locations, decorations, not to mention a large cast. We made some films insinuating the Roman times, like Romana Crucifixa Est that had only two people, Amy, in all her crucified glory, and Jac, the Barbarian doing all the work. A day shoot, and the only expense was the transportation costs to the far away location, the taxi fare.

Image

Another film that had a Roman/greek period scene is Dead But Dreaming. That short sequence took a big amount of cash because there were some lodging expenses for the cast and crew, it was a three day shoot and not to mention the costumes and decorations… and the cross, a very particular cross.

Image

By the time we made Dead But Dreaming, Olalla, Pygmalion and Justine, Mila already had tattoos and they only appear in Olalla because her character had them. They are not in Dead But Dreaming, Pygmalion or Justine

Image
xso: Hi, (wanttoknowmore) I am sure Margot will consider your feedback. This is secondary information, but as I understood it, tattoos will be covered in order to get the right ‘Roman era feeling.’

I agree with you that it is about time for a Roman crux era film, especially with this content! If Margot and her team gets the right support, I personally feel convinced that they this time will create something special.

I also agree with you regarding the crux scenes, they ought to be improved…..non swaying crossbars, realistic sizes of crossbars e.t.c……. As I mentioned earlier, I believe Margot and team are grateful for all feedback, in order to make this movie a success.
I’m not in the know of how is Jac planning to crucify his victims this time. I know from what I’ve read when we were contacted with the proposal to make this film, which included a script, with the understanding that we would re write it according to Jac’s vision of the story, so I know what it will include.

What I don’t know is how it will happen. Is Jac going to build a complicated set up for the final act of the crucifixion? Like you see in Jesus of Nazareth?

Image
xso: One key factor is ofc the funds that they will be able to raise. The more funds, the better Golgotha (and pre Golgotha) scenes…….. I hope the crux community will help Margot to make this the first longer female Christ film (I think that is the case….)

I have however joined Patreon, and will be the first in line (try to :) ) when the Indigogo crowdfunding starts. Will you and the other CF members also support?

I hope so, it is up to us to create the possibilities for Margot and team. I urge you all, continue to give Margot feedback and also support her and team to make this something extraordinary! Let’s make this happen!!!!
A movie is the end result of Time plus Money. There’s no budget set yet because the script is not finished and we can’t work a scheduling, budgeting and all that jazz, but I know it will cost a lot. Our calculation, based on our experience, is that the film will take at least 6 weeks for the shooting and the cost will depend how many people, how many costumes, how many prop and what kind of props and more details like that, including transportation and catering for all those people and for as long as the scenes that require crowds will need.

So, the more we raise, the better chances we have to make it look incredibly great.

One way to get ideas through the team is by becoming part of the production. There’s one way now, by joining Patreon for as little as 5 bucks per month, all the way to the VIP status for 30 US dollars per month.

We’re building Patreon now and there will be many good things there like conversations with the actresses and the director, not to mention videos of the rehearsals, the making of the movie itself, the testing of the props and whatever else comes to the minds of the director of this adventure.

Getting Physical

Image

Our HQ turned into a madhouse, literally, with people walking on the roof, some people climbing up the walls, other people digging holes through other walls. I don’t think the three floors house has seen so much action on it in 30 years. And that’s only the exterior of the house.

Inside the house there’s just as much action, Jac moving lots of furniture, much of that bookshelves, so, before moving a bookshelf he had to move everything in it… all by himself, yes.

He moved all those books, VHS tapes, DVDs, magazines, MINIdvs… from one room to another, to clear up for the painting of walls in most of the rooms. And while all that maddening activity goes on, Jac is still advancing with the work for the films to be made, but not with the concentration he wants to put in his tasks because, although his mind is in the projects full time, his body is moving around a lot. Like this video by the late Olivia.

https://youtu.be/KDGvSZb9syw

Last Wednesday Jac had Mila, Simonne and Dani join him at HQ to rehearse a couple of scenes from 69 Année Érotique to put Abel, the aspiring new DP, to the test.

Simonne was the first to go. She has two characters in the movie, one of them is the singer in an all women band and the other is a much younger woman, a young hippie from the 60’s. Literally, a hippie from the 60’s. Although the clothes are still being made for that role, she dressed the part, put on a wig and she acted bits of her first scene where she sings “… and now I wanna be your dog” the famous The Stooges song from 1969.

While she did her part, two cameras were pointed at her: Jac’s Canon OES 4K Mirrorless and Abel’s Blackmagic Cinema 6k Pro. Jac was shooting in 2K, while Abel was going full 6K raw. Maybe I’m getting too technical. But you can see the difference in the picture below. You should know that there’s little correction on the big 6K while the 2K image inside the frame of the 6K is as it was recorded.

Image

The different size in the pictures is the difference in resolution. The 6k is huge. If that’s becomes the camera we will use for Seditiosa, the image will be amazing, with a panoramic view worthy of Star Wars… Just imagine that, a spectacular and panoramic view of the three crucified women!

There are comments, too early at this stage, about what the film will show. The basic story line is as I said before, the basic story of Christ’s last days, with some changes in the paradigm, most importantly, the gender of the protagonist.

I mentioned before how the deal was described to the female protagonists and I quote myself:
How would you feel being scourged, viciously, then taken to be exposed all bloody and naked to a bunch of people, then made to pick up your patibulum and forced to walk, carrying that heavy wood on your shoulders, with people jeering at you, maybe throwing things at you, and a torturer or two flogging you to make you walk faster and then, after your reach your destination, to be nailed to the patibulum… to then begin your torture …. with an emphasis on… In front of lots of people.
Image

I bring that up because there appears to be some concern about the amount of blood, the details on how it will all happen and so on. That’s not something that can be discussed in detail at this point in the stage of the development of the film. But I can respond to some comments like to the following:
wanttoknowmore: (as a start, for goodness sake, please do not have the victims hair and tons of fake blood cover their frontal assets. I defy anybody to be able to locate Amy’s breast through all that),
Well. Let’s see. Amy’s breasts in Justine after she receives 36 lashes, out of a total of 50, during her public flogging.

Image

Maybe our inquiring friend is referring to the end of the film when all three beautiful women, Justine, Omphale and Rosalie, end up crucified.

In all three cases their breasts shine prominently under the hot sun.

Image

In the case of Seditiosa, I believe all three condemned will receive the traditionally prescribed 39 lashes that, according to some records, are one short of the number of lashings that might kill a person. But, I think that so exact number has to do with the numerology tradition in ancient cultures. 40 days in the desert, 40 days of fasting, 40 days of temptations, even the Noachian Flood lasted for 40 days… so… 40 seems to be a favorite number for a divinity. Thus, it has to be 39, they don’t deserve a divine number of lashes, do they?

Another argument could be that if they don’t receive the 40 lashes of death, they could be whipped again later.

In any case, the three Seditiosi will not get as many lashes as Amy and Mila received in Maleficarum, or as Amy received in many of her films where, regardless of how many lashes, her breasts are still visible. Same for Dani, who is lashed so much that maybe her entire body should be an open floodgate of blood, but it is not.

Image
wanttoknowmore: I viewed Monxa Mala. PLEASE – get Jac to stop covering the gals with that fake blood, at least on their front. You ruin the beauty of the ladies with that stuff. The intensity of the whiping can be had on their backs.
In Monxa Mala Simonne is whipped, and whipped, and whipped, and burned with a hot iron and whipped some more, and then stabbed, and then whipped again, and then nailed up, and then a crown of thorns is pressed on her head… so she bleeds… and bleeds …. a lot. But you can still see her breasts.

Image

The solution would be light flogging, no thorns that cause people to bleed. No bleeding.

I cut a finger not long ago, a tiny cut, with a shred of glass, not a big deal, but there was enough blood to write my name with it on my forehead. I stopped the bleeding right away but If I hadn’t, if I had let it flow down, nicely, and let it drip on some other part of my body, like my breast, I’m sure it would’ve cover a lot of it. Really. When I first washed the wound, the sink had more bloody streaks than Dani’s chest on any of her movies.

Image

Another issue is that in all those movies made by a two people cast and crew, Jac and Dani, for instance, all the work is done by mostly ONE person, Jac. He does the camera, the lighting, the sound, the acting, the directing, the make-up effects, and so on. Dani… or Amy… or Camille… do all the proper suffering times 100.

In the Big Production Value movies Jac hires other crew members, like a DP, Sound person, Gaffers,… make up people, assistants, and so on. In Seditiosa there will be at least two make-up people, not only to make the beautiful ladies look even prettier, but to cover the tattoos, work the beating and whipping effects on their bodies and so on.

Image
Mila having her tattoos covered in Pygmalion
Crucified Life: I hope you don’t mind but I have written my opinion below about how the crucifixion scenes from the Female Christ project should perhaps look. I am hoping for a female version of the 1977 Jesus of Nazareth film crucifixion. I say have it where the arms are nailed to the horizontal beam and she is raised to a scaffolding then feet nailed just like in that film. And if hands are nailed instead of wrists then ensure that the upper arms are roped as additional support or else it is unrealistic as it wouldn’t support the body if it were real. Otherwise wrists would need to be nailed or both hands and wrists is an option. Robes need to be off early. I don’t mind a loincloth but just please ensure we get a bare-breasted female Christ and female thieves. Yes please crown of thorns and whipping but a whipping both front and back is needed or else we don’t see any whip marks when the victims are on the cross if the whip marks are on the back only. Also for this project, outside is better than inside. Also it is important to ensure she talks from her cross if she is Jesus. And what name would you give her as a female Jesus name? Jessica is too modern for example. Thank you for reading my views and opinions about this project. I look forward to it and wish you every success. Good luck!!
That’s quite a list of suggestions, most of them are similar to what others are suggesting, most importantly, they don’t differ much from what the early backers of this project have in mind for the film. They are truly committed to make this film happen with hard cash, very hard cash, and they had more than just suggestions, they had a detailed roadmap, almost a script, full of ideas that are under constant discussion with enough frequency and a healthy exchange of ideas.

All the technical and creative aspects of the film are under discussion, the possible scaffold or no scaffold, the whipping marks, where the nails go, the wrists? the hands? Will the three protagonists wear loincloths all the way to the end? Crown of thorns anybody? And, of course the names of the characters. Jac already decided many of the names in the story.

I’ll give you one name. Judith. Judith is one of the two sisters who end up nailed to a cross next to our Female Christ. Judith is the person that makes it all happen the way it happens. Her actions and words cause their downfall. She’s is, in a way, like Judas and like the ‘bad thief’, a mixture of the two in some ways, but she doesn’t betray her Mistress, but she is, in many ways, just as guilty… and yet…

Image
wanttoknowmore: It might help with fund raising if a high level script describing the various scenes is provided.
As with any big production movie, everything is possible if the money is there, so we want to encourage people to join us in this.

The principal backers, so far, have outlined their preferences for what the films should include. As the script progresses, Jac will be discussing it with the hard core supporters who will be able to make suggestions; however, as Spike Lee said when he released Malcom X, “I don’t make films by committee“. He expressed those thoughts because many people from different organizations were being critical about the film because it didn’t show this or it didn’t show that… and so on and so forth.

Ultimately a film is the result of the vision the director has, whether there were a million discussions or it just came up to his head one night. What is totally sure is that the original story, the roadmap, the outline… or whatever one wants to call it, which came from the backers, is the basis for the script.

What is plain and clear is that, early in the story, the two sisters get arrested, soon after our Female Christ is also arrested and taken to face the authorities. All three of them suffer the scourge. One of them gets the crown of thorns, all three of them are pushed, punished and practically naked, before the hostile crowds, all three are condemned to death on the cross, all three painfully walk up to the skull shaped hill (calvary) to be crucified carrying their patibulums.

Image
wanttoknowmore: My 2 cents on the FJ Crux scene –

You don’t need scaffolding, 3 posts with ladders will work fine.

If the women will be naked, may i suggest that they carry the crossbeam with a loincoth on. Once up on their crosses, the loin cloth is removed as a final humiliation, Humiliation is a core tenant of the crux process.

Some camera shots from the cross level looking out at the crowd, and the FJ and her companions looking at and speaking with each other.
It would be lovely if those 2 cents were more like 5 bucks or 10 bucks, or 30 bucks by becoming an intricate part of the production process. With many people joining us we would get closer and closer to make the film we all want to see.

Some people already put in their 10 or 30 bucks on the film.

Just as a clarifying note. It is difficult to put a ladder against a post, unless the post has something to hold the ladder, like a scaffold. The ladder might rest on the crossbeam once it is attached to the post; however, how do you attach the crossbeam to the post without the ladder? It kind of makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

Jac had a step platform ladder to attach Dani’s cross beam to the post. So… maybe he’ll devise some kind of movable platform… or build a platform behind the posts for the job to be done properly… who knows.

Image
xso: Thank you Margot for yet another great update!!!

You work in a very professional way with this and other projects, so I feel convinced that you will make the ‘Female Christ’ movie a huge success!
One indicator that you work professionally is that you take time to comment feedback, also ‘negative’ feedback. As I am sure you already know, feedback is one key factor on ‘the road towards success’. Thank’s for doing that!

However, I think you Margot summarise the two key factors in order to be able to make a great film very accurately:

1) Sufficient funding. The more, the better end result!

2) Sufficient time…….and I would like to add the factors commitment and luck…….
The commitment is there, from our part, of course, the sufficient time for the production will be set when everything is in place, specially the script. The completed script goes through a nice breakdown and with that we can have the proper scheduling. But we cannot have a proper scheduling without having ALL the elements we need in place… like costumes, locations, cast, crew… etc… and ALL of it needs sufficient funding!

Our IndieGoGo campaign to raise $20,000 will begin soon, we are working in the details. Nonetheless, by joining our Patreon page you can help with a bit of cash that can move things ahead and you can definitely put your two cents, or ten bucks, or 30 bucks to anything or everything in the story.

Step By Step… Onward To The Cross

Image

Moving closer to the beginning of new Big Production Values films. The work inside HQ, mainly the panting of walls, is over. Jac with or without help will proceed to get it all organized, decorated and ready to be the set for 69 Année Érotique. If all goes well, the production of this new movie should start sometime next week.

After a conversation about Seditiosa and 69, Amy and Jac came to the decision to release Pygmalion, finally, in November. We’ll be working for a theatrical release in at least 5 cities. Another film that will be released theatrically is Rucker, possibly in December or January.

During their conversation Jac told Amy that Sometimes doing physical work helps the brain cells when they clogged up because of too much thinking. And too much thinking is what I’ve been doing lately, to the point that I would sit on my comfy chair and stare far beyond the universe seen in pretty pictures as captured by Webb.

In the next two days Jac will have the HQ all organized again. He’ll have a big meeting with the three leading ladies of the two up and coming productions, they will try out the clothes they will wear in one of them.

He’s also working on the Pitch Video to begin the campaign to raise the funds for Seditiosa, a movie that the more we talk about, the more intense and demanding it becomes.

There’s a picture of a painting that Jac saw in FB that made him think of the clothing design for the Female Christ and her followers… all women. Maybe not that loose, but close.

Image
xso Thank’s for this lovely Sunday update Margot!

A panoramic view with the 3 crucified beauties with ‘Star Wars film quality’!

Wow! This sounds amazing!!!!!

I feel convinced that you and your team will create a very special movie. Your thinking and planning is very professional! Let’s pray you get the sufficient funding.

The 3 leading ladies look so beautiful in their white robes…….will be lovely to see them act in the different classical (and other non classical) scenes!!!! It will be hard to wait though, so please spoil us with updates on Patreon if possible. (Fellow cruxers, this is one way to support and follow the project.) https://www.patreon.com/rfpix?fan_landing=true

I pray that the crowdfunding is soon available, so that we all can contribute and make this unique film project a reality. I will check frequently for the Indigogo link, and as soon as it is operational, I will contribute. I hope many will follow, in order to make this a success!

Please fellow crux lovers, do support this project!!!! (And don’t forget our common CF platform.)

Once more, thanks for the update Margot and team, and good luck!

It has become very clear that Seditiosa has become the most ambitious project for us. Although we’re very early in the process, we’re not even officially in pre-production, we are totally invested in this. The film we’re about to produce, 69 Année Érotique, feels like a walk on the beach because it is so easy to do, even tough we have some scenes where we need crowds. But these are crowds will be sitting, drinking, dancing and enjoying the performance of a an all girl band and all the girls in the band are beautiful… and three of those beautiful girls will be crucified in another movie… in front of crowds.

Ah… but in this movie, 69, all three of them have some intense whipping scenes at the hands of Mr Hyde… who has a nice bedroom where he can suspend a girl by her wrists from chains hanging from above… and then…

Image
Simonee during her casting for Casa de Fieras now known as 69 Année Érotique

wanttoknowmore: Thank you for clarifying my whipping concern. The still from the crux scene of Justine was exactly what I was referring to with regard to too much fake blood. Still believe a more subdued whipping of Simonne in Monxa Mala before the crux scences would have played better. – too much red washout. Love the brief summary of the plot of the movie. Sounds perfect, with a nice bit of run up to the “main event” that should also allow the main characters to show their acting abilities as well as beauty.

There are some very good scenes in the script to establish the main characters, one of those scenes is already nicely written, with very good dialogues and situations that sets the story on its road to calvary. For the Pitch Video the three leading ladies used a few lines from the dialogues and in each case, the character they will play came through.

Image
Iconoclast12: Margot said: What is plain and clear is that, early in the story, the two sisters get arrested, soon after our Female Christ is also arrested and taken to face the authorities. Bravo, Margot!
Although I have my own unique tastes (regarding loincloths, whipping intensity, blood quantity and cross construction) my goal as a backer is not for the final project to align completely with my vision. For me, being surprised is part of the allure. To know that a mind separate from my own also thought about this topic of female crux. That and the excitement of seeing the vision of an entire community being realized. And if we are to realize that vision, we must double-down on the big picture.
Raising up expectation is a risky business. The best airline ever, the best toothbrush money can buy, music from the heavens, there’s nothing like this cheeseburger... Promotion needs hyperbole, of course. “I’m the best president ever in the history of the human race” can bring in some cash from the ignorant masses… but…

When I say, there’s never been a movie quite like Seditiosa… is not hyperbole, not even an exaggeration. It’s a fact. There’s no movie like the one Jac is envisioning. Sure, you have all those different versions covering the story of the gospels. From the epic 1927 Cecil B De Mille The King of Kings, all the way to hippie musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell, passing by reverential versions like Jesus of Nazareth, almost pornographic interpretation like The Passion of The Christ, weirdly conceptualized rendition like The Last Temptation of Christ, even irreverent comedies like The Life of Brian… and who can forget Passolini’s neorealist portrayal of The Gospel According To St. Mathew or the surreal and wacky Buñuel film La Via Lactea (The Milky Way) where Mary tells Jesus “You look much better with your beard” There are tons of films about The Christ, including Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter...

But nothing compared to what we’re planning… A woman in the place of the Christ, a healer, prophetess, who her followers believe to be the anointed one because she comes straight from the House of David, and, according to Judith, if she wanted, the female Christ could have take the power that belongs to her and deliver her people from bondage…

As Judith says, the people should know her powers.

https://vimeo.com/740157099/9b0e5341ec
Samael: Forget ladders and scaffolding, nail them on the ground and then raise the crosses with them already fully crucified.
That’s easier said than done. It requires a bunch of people to do the actual work securely. You can’t have a couple of guys raising a cross with a beautiful woman attached to it. Set it on the ground and then secure it, and if it’s not done correctly, the cross might fall causing massive injuries to the actress. We don’t want that. The cross has to be set on the ground securely, sealed correctly, no room for accidents.

There’s the burning on a cross scene in Olalla, and to do that we took a great looking cross to the location. It was made of very good wood, it had to look like a cross already built in some place near Olalla’s villa.

We were going to set it up when the owner of the location saw it, and offered to set it up in front of the chapel. He had a worker dig a hole, build a base with rocks, put the cross in the hole, and poured cement on it. The cross remains there now, forever, the towns folks go pray in front of it during religious celebrations. Olalla is not there.

So, we’re walking the walk, writing the script, preparing the leading ladies, designing and acquiring the costumes, looking into how to make the props, specially those crosses, planning to visit the locations and wondering how much of what is in Jac’s head will turn up on the screen… for that we need money.

We can do a lot of the work, of course, but then the expenses will start raining on us and that is what will decide how far we can go, how spectacular the film will be.

You can all join our Patreon page, which at this point is not full of stuff, we just started, but we’ll have a lot there as time progresses, including some great videos of the making of the film, including some rehearsals and tests.

Re: The News From Red Feline Pictures

The Cycles of Pain

Image

If we were to identify cycles by the impact of the main players who inspired stories and acted in the films, we could say that there’s the Camille Cycle, that began in 1993 with the production of the miniseries The Man From The Moon and ended by 2003 with Martyr or The Death of St Eulalia with over 35 works. But the one film that began this magnificent road was Red Feline On The Cross.

Image

Camille, aka Carmen, was not alone during that cycle, her sister Gabrielle, aka Veronique, joined the team and participated in many of those films, including Red Feline Faces The Inquisition, and many solo films like CruxBride. She had a leading role in Martyr as well.

Image

Another cycle began in 2005 with the production of the NatGeo doc Outbreak, which was the beginning of a very intense career for Amy as an actress, producer and director. But she also made costumes, built props, decorated sets, and a lot more.

That cycle ended in 2015 with the production of Justine with some 25 films in its belt.

Image

As with Camille, Amy was not alone. This time a new teammate appeared, Mila Joya, who became an integral part of that cycle and worked in all of the films made then. And there was a crossover too, with Veronique who worked under Amy in Sirwiñakuy and Barbazul and had a protagonist role in Jac’s Dead But Dreaming. Amy’s leaving for the US to pursue other career goals marked the end of the cycle with two productions, Pygmalion and Justine. A new actress was in both. Bea.

Image

Ironically enough, a new cycle began with another NatGeo financed film about the hunting of jaguars in the protected areas of Bolivia. Soon after Jac returned to civilization he directed beautiful Bea in the two cast and crew production of The Passion of Isabel, which was the first film where Amy was not involved and the first in a series of films where Jac did all the crew work plus acting in them.

Image

Soon after The Passion of Isabel was made, Dani joined the team and Mila, who right after Amy left also moved on to do other things, returned to begin the new series of films until now.

A high point came when Jac produced Monxa Mala, with Mila, Dani and some new faces in our films, the one who shone prominently was Simonne, who is now the chosen one.

Image
Thunder33: I follow RFPIX since their beginnings , and undoubtedly their best performer for me was the red feline herself, Camille.
If she were a little bit younger she definitely would’ve made the perfect Female Jesus. I just imagine her with the crown of thrones, gaping for air while they laid her down on the cross, taking the nailing and put on display like the Queen of Jews between two thief. I wish you all the best for this new movie. I hope it fulfill everyone’s wishes, which is the main goal of this effort.
At the beginning there was Camille and Camille was… yes a Goddess. Perhaps it was destiny or the universe, of the forces of some kind of divine design, but all roads led to Camille. And it was so simple, a big smile, those pretty shiny eyes, and being at the right place in the right time of the moving of the events on everyone’s life.

We were all there when we could’ve been somewhere else in the planet. We arrived from New York, she arrived from Tours, and that month, and that year.

Image

And things worked out so she would become Red Feline. And to be totally candid, there was one else that could’ve been Red Feline and as an extension, Camille in The Death of St Eulalia, which, in a way it is a Passion Play where Camille recreates the passion of St Eulalia which, in a great symbolic way is the recreation of the Passion of Christ. I can say that she was there, in a poetic and modern version of a Female Christ. As a matter of fact, at the festival where Martyr had its premiere, someone in the audience commented as the crucifixion scene in the movie was taking place: “this is The Passion of Christ with a woman in his place

Image
wanttoknowmore: Rereading the latest “update”. I am begining to get a bit concerned that the crucifiction scenes are getting watered down for ‘marketablity” – specifically it is not decided if the women will be naked on the cross. At the very least, this should be decided at this point. Whether nailed via hands or wrist a lesser issue, but why still undecided?

Please confirm the ladies are NOT going to “stand” on the cross, or have a repeat of the positioning of the terrible Justine crux scene.

The more specifics you provide, the confidence people will have in the outcome, and the easier it will be to raise funds. Again, the Justine crux scene promises versus results still linger.

It is also hard to contibute to the movie fund without an actual funding page/link.
Iconoclast12: With all due to respect, you have been arguing that the flogging scenes and blood need to be reduced. And I see Margot very earnestly engaging with your concerns. While I don’t wish dismiss those concerns and also want these crux scenes to be as good as they can possibly be, I would urge you to not conflate “watering down” with not matching your tastes.
wanttoknowmore: My concern on too much blood refers to taking away the beauty of the victims but basically covering then with a coat on red fake blood. Compare the crux scene from Justine to that of Amy crucified in the Crux Romnia flim.
I’m intrigued about the comment. Watering down? I don’t know where in my previous comments did I suggest that Jac is watering down the crucifixion scenes. The three women will walk to the Hill of the Skull, wearing their loincloths, which, by the way, will not be in good shape. I think the Female Christ will wear a torn robe of sorts, but I cannot say that for sure. It was a comment I heard or read.

After the nailing and raising up, their loincloths will be removed in a particularly dramatic moment to make a point for the benefit of the curious crowds, which include all the viewers… all of them.

I’m not sure if there will be a cuerno involved, but I also heard that it is possible that one of them will ‘sit‘ on her ‘throne‘. In other words she’ll be impaled on something like a horn, a cruel sedile.

What is certain is that ALL three will be nailed hands and feet, but maybe the feet will be placed in different positions, to add to the spectacle and for visual variety.

And as far as the fundraising campaign, we’re still working on the IndieGoGo campaign materials. It will be set up soon.

Image
LadyKiller: Could you make their moments of death sexual? Like they are having orgasms before they become dead bodies.
Camille taught us, and particularly Jac, that the French have a saying, “every orgasm is a little death“. The expression of Camille suffering on the cross and the expressions she has during orgasm are pretty similar, specially if the pleasure is very high, in one case, or the pain is too intense. When the anointed one and the sisters suffer the agonies of the cross, they will definitely express something like an extremely intense orgasm.

Times Of Crisis

Image

These days, when a season is ending and another is about to begin in the middle of chaos and economic crisis all over the planet, things are getting tougher, casting a shadow on everything we’re doing and planning.

But even in times of crisis, the exciting, excited and stressed Red Feline Team met last week to eat cake, in celebration of Dani’s birthday, and to discuss the up and coming projects.

Dani showed up as if she had be thrown from a mountain. Jac made that comment when he saw her arrive.

She had been in a photoshoot for some campaign of which I have no details. According to her, she played a dead woman inside of a suitcase, half naked and bruised up. She didn’t have time to clean up before going to the meeting, she was in a hurry to make it in time, so the people in charge drove her directly to Jac’s house.

Jac took some pictures of her because he wanted to preserve the moment, it’s not always that you celebrate your birthday all beat up.

He also thought that the make-up person in charge did a pretty good job and he might want to meet her.

Image

The meeting went well, they ate half of the tasty cake, drunk some juice, no one was in the mood for rum, as a matter of fact it’s been a while since they had rum during their meetings.

They will have some intense rehearsals for 69 and they will record a few comments from them all for the promotion of the campaign for Seditiosa. Not necessarily for the pitch, but he might use some of it.

As Amy did for the script 69, when she told Jac to explode it, she did the same for the pitch, she pointed to its flaws and suggested Jac put more work into it, that it would be worthy. So, as the good boy that he is, he’s following her suggestions.

So Jac decided to start the pitch video with the premise, as an introduction to the pitch:

WHAT IF JESUS HAD BEEN A WOMAN?

It will be a title and a voice over with some intriguing image.

Image

He also decided to get physical again, all weekend, to finish fixing the house, it’s a mess. Working on moving the furniture and everything on it will help him think and to have the place ready for the rehearsals and all the planned work next week.

He also had a party, Saturday night, at a club where his son performed with his band… and celebrated his birthday. He joined the party at the club to celebrate the night, long time ago, when he sat at St Vincent Hospital in NY, in the same room where Edgar Alan Poe died, to have his newly born child hold his finger. A truly touching and scary moment in Jac’s young life.

Image

https://fb.watch/f174sFACvZ/

Both, Erix and Dani are Leos. I think we celebrate all of our birthdays in doubles. Erix and Dani, Bea and Mila, Jac and I, Amy and Mireya… Simonne and Jac’s Dad.

The team met again this week, to go over the script for 69 and work on a couple of scenes to establish the characters and all that jazz. All of them have three characters to play, different characters, with extremely opposite personalities. Big task for the actors.

Image

As they were going through all the work to prepare for the production of 69 Année Érotique and the fundraising for Seditiosa, things were not going well in general. A drop in the average monthly sales, that has become a critical issue, added to a perceived lack of real interest in what can be considered our fan base for the new Female Christ project, and a general indifference to my posts is making us consider some drastic changes that could affect how we operate.

I’m a pragmatic person, not leaning to emotional outbursts, in other words, I’m not a cry baby. From a strictly pragmatic position I look at the circumstances surrounding us and I see some clear points.
  • No comments to my posts at GIMP, one a year, maybe, which makes me loose interest in visiting and posting and making any efforts here. That’s a pragmatic point of view, maybe there’s no interest in what I have to say, period.
  • Very little reaction to our plans to produce the first ever big production values feature film about a Female Christ. So I think to myself, why bother?
  • A three month steady drop on our average sales all over, including Vimeo, Amazon and so on, which makes me think that the economy is really bad so people are not eager to get their movies like before. Not even if we put a big sale, so maybe the time to make movies about kitties is at hand. Jac puts a picture of one of his cats in FB and people go nuts. I put a picture of a beautiful naked woman on a cross and not even a wink.
Image

All the above points can me debated, of course, it is possible that I was in a bad mood when I decided to look, objectively, at the issues I’m discussing. But it is also possible that the time is coming to think outside the neat little box we are in.

One example. I spend a good amount of time, every day, checking all the registrations at the GIMP forum to select the legit from the bots, hackers, spammers and so on. Out of 200 registrations I get, one is legit. So, why bother? I waste precious time. If I stop checking, they will just pile up but they wont waste my time and there won’t be any new registrations approved, ever, unless they contact me directly to get approved.

It’s nice to have a place where you can go share your proclivities… but it ain’t free for those maintaining it. There’s money and labor involved in running it and a little appreciation can go a long way… and it should bring in some benefits, I think.

Another example. I put a lot of good time writing my posts and I get one or two beautiful responses… and that’s it. And that’s in ONE forum, in the other not even the time of the day. Why bother?

I think I would get the same response if I post a picture and a couple of lines like.. hey… get our movies… or I simple put a picture with that message in it.

Image

This might be the last extensive post that I’ll share outside of our site. If you want to know about how we’re doing, what we’re doing, how we’re doing it … come over and visit.
https://redfeline.com/chronicles

And any discussions concerning the new productions will be with people who are supporting the work. I’ll announce the progress from time to time in forums and the like, and you are free to ignore it completely.

It’s very tiring to organize a party for no one to show up. What’s worse, the time I spend keeping a site up and running, I could use to write poetry, that no one will read, like my posts, just for my pleasure, or water the plants, or go feed some pigeons. At least the pigeons will be grateful and the plants won’t die.

Right. The time to put the effort where there are positive results is here. I might be sharing a link to our movies about cats new site soon.

One sure way of knowing the impact of my screaming post is to get a reaction to it… that is if anyone cares to read it.

One comment might help me change my mind. Two comments will go a long way to keep me going, no comments will mark the end of an era.

On behalf of the hundreds, nay, thousands, of non-posting GIMPers, I say a heartfelt thank you to you and Ralphus for maintaining this safe haven on the worldwide web for us to come to.

I don't know what to say to assuage your feelings, other than, your posts are read and appreciated, and are not just going off into the ether...( and I do have some of your older films, and continue to enjoy them).

In regards to the 3 points you listed and that you are wondering about, a few thoughts:

- No comments: Honestly i think it was not even clear to everyone if comments are even welcomed or if this thread rather serves as a promo tool for you (nothing wrong with that) which you'd prefer to rather not be interfered with.

- Little reaction to feature film plans (and maybe others): Well. For me one reason is i see a discrepancy between how you guys seem to see your films (basically, as "movies" or "art") and how some others (including me) look at them (sorry, but basically "bdsm porn"). Of course it cant be denied that the films are way more elaborated than ususal bdsm films, but my thinking is: If you want your films be seen as art or actual "movies", maybe you should get some basics straight first ?

Like, as feedback, people have told you numerous times throughout the years that the whip marks look unrealistic af and that the blood is way too much to look realistic as well. Still you guys seem to have ignored that feedback completely so far. Now, each time i look at still pictures from one of your even bigger films, i'm thinking "Movie ? Can't be much of artistic value if they don't even can get the makeup right". Maybe that's unfair, but that's my first impression.

So, if people do give feedback but it gets ignored or you reply in a defensive manner explaining why you guys are right and we are wrong (the ones giving feedback at all), well, people get tired of giving feedback at all as the impression is you won't listen anyway.

Which brings me to the last point:

- Drop in sales: I don't know how long ago i first told you how important (in my opinion) producing trailers for *each and everyone* of your films (not just the major ones) would be. At the time, you somehow seemed to halfway agree but argued the bigger films already had trailers, that trailers aren't that important to your sales but if Jac would find the time, they'd get produced. Here we are, and although some films indeed have gotten trailers now, others still haven't to this day. This inconsistency is pretty confusing - depending on which outlet a potential customer looks at your offerings (your own site, Vermeer, whatever) it always varies for which films there seem to be trailers and for which not; on certain pages there are no trailers at all.

So, in a nutshell, it seems Jac deems it more important to produce film after film rather than giving enough attention to the surrounding (sales) aspects like indeed producing proper trailers for each film or having a clear, and easy to understand web shop structure.

Also, before you direct me to several pages and tell me how "easy" it is - no thanks, i do think all those different sites and pages is everything but "keeping it simple" for the potential customer. There are DVD pages, VOD pages, download pages, external sites etc and all don't have the same setup when it comes to information like trailers. That whole structure of having several different pages and sites is confusing in itself.

Of course, i fully expect you to solely make the economy responsible for that sales drop, but in my opinion maybe it's time to finally, finally take some of the feedback given and think about if maybe, just maybe some of that feedback might actually have merit and if some of what you thought is important or not needs to be revisited.

I mean, for me that trailer topic is a prime example of how people are giving you feedback, but at least some of it you seem to stubbornly ignore for years. Don't get me wrong, i generally like what you do, but then again you shouldn't be surprised about some things like sales dropping or non enthusiastic feedback, if people get the impression you (the team) don't really like to be interfered with in your bubble, be it about the "artistic vision", unrealistic whipmarks and blood, trailers or the way your sales pages are structured.

Although i know this might come across like a rant, it's still meant as constructive criticism and as letting you guys know what MIGHT be going on (of course all of this is just my personal opinion anyway).

:)

P.S. If you should happen to think of "fake whipmarks and blood" as minor issues when it comes to the question of your films being perceived as movies or art (or even just as great bdsm films), i'd be happy to write another small essay on the topic of "immersion" or rather what to avoid in order to achieve it ;)

The Calm After The Storm

Image

I promised that if I got comments to my rhetorical post I would stick around, a promise is a promise, so, ready or not, here I go.

The comments that followed my not so subtle whine, raised some points that I’ll address here without necessarily quoting them.

One point raised was our funding page. We’re in the process of setting it up. IndieGoGo had a 90 day option to raise the funds to fulfill the goal. That’s no longer the case, they have a 60 day option only, which we will take. It means that in those 60 days we either reach our goal or we take what we raised, whatever that is.

That means that we better have a great pitch video, a convincing argument why should people donate to the project, what they will get as perks and many of those big and small details that are part of the campaign. Lots of brain storming for that.

Image

Jac was going to leave for the US in September, for a couple of weeks, maybe three, so he was in a rush to launch the campaign in July, with the intention of having the funds coming in by the time he was in the US. That’s no longer the case. There’s time to prepare a good campaign and launch it when it’s good and ready. He’s not working on it alone, he has Amy and Erix working with him.

Once the campaign is ready to go, it will be launched, sometime between the end of this month or beginning of September. That will give us until November to raise the cash.

That brings up another point, the TIMELINE.

To make a movie properly we need Time and Money.

The Time.

The film will be shot in Bolivia, where our cast and crew are. If everything is ready, we could, in theory, begin shooting in December.

In December we have the rainy season, most of the film is outdoors and that could be a problem, but, we shot Justine in December and we had one day when we had to stop the shooting because it rained on our outdoors location which was scheduled for that day, we had to wait for the rain to subside.

Image

In other words, we’re looking into shooting Seditiosa in December and part of January, most likely.

WIth that timeline in mind, we are scheduling the pre production work for the next couple of months.

We need to look for locations, build the props, make the costumes and much more. All that takes time… and money, that’s why we came up with the idea of the Patreon page to raise some money as we go on with the work.

But, for that to be of any benefit we need a good number of patrons, so we can count with a few hundred bucks every month for the purpose of getting the project moving. We normally use money from our income for that purpose as well, but if things are slow, then we have a problem.

Patreon is a new thing to us. We are looking into how it works, and one thing we learned is that they keep the money for a while, as a matter of fact, they consider the becoming a patron a ‘pledge‘, which they charge at the beginning of the month and we have access to it a few days later. That means that the extremely few patrons we have so far have not been charged yet and when and IF they are charged on the 1st of September, we will have that cash, minus the fees, sometime after the 5th. We’ll be less than 150 richer that day. Unless, of course, there’s a surge of new patrons before the end of the month.

Image

Patreon is a learning curve for us and that is one reason why we don’t appear to be very active in that front. We are, but we’re still figuring out the system. We’ll be updating the progress of the project at least twice a month, with videos, pictures and so on. We expect to be making some progress during September and October.

We don’t have promo vids of Seditiosa, other than what we are doing for the pitch, because… we are not shooting the film yet!

We don’t have the costumes, we don’t have the props, we don’t have the locations. If we wanted to have a picture of the leading ladies carrying their crosses to show what it will look like, we would need the patibulums, the garments, the locations, the cast, obviously … and to go to get those pictures we would need a crew, transportation, all the equipment, to do it properly and use one day to do it.

With all that effort and expense we might as well shoot the scenes, right?

Jac plans to shoot the crucifixion scene in three days. But the big expense for either one day or three days is not much different.

Image

My whining about the drop in sales is based on hard data. We’ve been doing this for over twenty years, we keep a good track of how things move, when, how and why and we can predict how things will go.

There are good days, bad days, excellent days, horrible days… there are ups and downs, and there are days when nothing sells. But the average is constant through the years. Regardless. However, when our average goes down and keeps going down, there are reasons for that drop that are beyond our calculations. Nothing to do with new films, or trailers, or promos, or discussions. No, it has to do with the tendencies in the market. We thought things will go down during the pandemic, they didn’t, but now, with the planetary inflation, the situation is unusual.

Another point raised was, for some reason, the making of 69 as if that was a bad thing.

We are making that film now, we’re preparing everything to start shooting soon, we have the locations, like two clubs we are going to use for some scenes and which, as a matter of fact, we don’t have to pay, and we can get some sponsors to support the project, like a bank, or the best rum distributor so they can have product placement, which we can’t have in Seditiosa. We can’t have a wine company sponsor a last super scene, or a bank to sponsor the kicking of the money lenders scene… if we had those scenes in the movie.

We have the costumes, nice, sexy, hippie, goth, metal, elderly, and so on.

We have the cast.

We have the crew.

And the main set is almost ready.

And not to mention a 120 page fascinating script.

We’re ready to go with that one.
