Title: Shark Special 56: Cybe-Guard Gandiva

Starring: Asami

Running time: Two hours

There isn't much that's special about Shark Special 56: Cybe-Guard Gandiva other than perhaps the special effects. This movie, about a super heroine taking on some funnily dressed baddies in a sci-fi setting, focuses on three rape scenes that are stagy and get tiresome. All three rapes have less tension than a national election where you just know who's going to win (sorry, I couldn't resist).

The star, Asami, is attractive enough and has some nice moments where there is a true look of anguish on her pretty face. But she rarely says much more than some grunts and groans and often doesn't effectively sell her scenes.

Don't even ask me about the plot. This sci-fi adventure has something to do with Asami battling villains who wear Birdman-type helmets. Asami, who's dressed in a black vinyl jacket with a white front, a white body suit, black stockings and black boots, starts the film with some decent fight scenes against the male villains. But the men ultimately overpower Asami and hold her down in a gold chair.

A pudgy guy (an Attackers regular) leans down and starts licking the left side of Asami's pretty face. He then gets a big vibrator and runs it against Asami's clothed breasts. He pulls down Asami's top to expose her left breast and runs the vibrator against her nipple. The villain moves down to Asami's lower area and adjusts Asami's body suit so her pussy is exposed. The loudly humming vibrator is then run against Asami's pussy in a good scene with some great squirming and jerking by Asami. When she climaxes, it's believable.

Asami is thrown to a mattress on the floor and some villains pin her on her back. Some sci-fi magic helps pudgy guy strip to his black undies and he climbs on top of Asami, strangling her neck and licking her choking face. There's a great moment here when the pudgy villain grabs Asami's head and forces some French kisses on the struggling heroine, at times licking her gritted teeth.

The villains move Asami into a seated position and force her to blow the pudgy guy. The villains then hold Asami in different positions such as missionary and doggie as the pudgy guy rapes her. Asami is still fully dressed here, with the bottom of her body suit adjusted to expose her pussy for rape. It isn't an issue, though, as Asami looks quite sexy in her heroine outfit. The rapist finishes by cumming in Asami's pussy, and then forcing Asami to wipe the cum on her middle left finger and place the cum-stained finger in her mouth.

The movie's next rape is a gang rape. Four villains grab Asami and expose her body, lifting her light blue kimono up to reveal her bare breasts and her white panties. Asami squeals and protests as the four guys lick her body, sucking on her tits and forcing her to kiss one guy. Asami is forced to blow one guy, and then her panties are removed and she gets fucked by different rapists in various positions such as missionary, doggie and reverse cowgirl. This segment concludes with a missionary screwing, with the villains holding Asami down and one guy sucking on her right breast as a rapist nails her. Once again, the rape finishes with a guy cumming in Asami's pussy.

A fight scene follows and then it's time for another gang rape. Asami is once again wearing her sexy black and white outfit from the first scene. She begins by confronting a guy with a powerful sword that sends off funny sound waves. The sound waves make Asami drop her sword and wrap her arms around herself, shivering. Shuddering Asami glares at the villain as the sword's waves overpower her. Her eyes then roll back in her head and she collapses.

When Asami awakens, three guys are fondling and licking her body, with the pudgy guy once again licking Asami's pretty face. Asami's jacket is stripped off and some type of lubricant is poured on her body suit. The guys adjust the body suit to expose Asami's breasts and pussy so they can finger her, lick her pussy and suck on her tits. Asami is forced to blow all of the guys, and then her top is pulled down and different guys do her in positions like doggy, missionary and reverse cowgirl, occasionally blowing a second guy as she gets tapped. At this point, she isn't really being restrained, and the bonkings look more like vanilla sex than rape.

For what it's worth, the non-sex moments in Shark Special 56 include some interesting visual effects and opening credits that are pretty funky. Too bad the producers didn't put as much effort into the sex scenes.

My grade: C

You have to wonder if some of the guys at Attackers have lost their mojo. It sure looks like they wanted to make a better movie. Without understanding the language, it was clear some effort had gone into telling the story (whatever it's about) and the production values were top notch. Unfortunately, the rape scenes were predictable and uninspired and generally lacked edge. Shark Special 56: Cybe-Guard Gandiva has a few decent moments, which I'll clip for YouTied, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it.

In this case, it's a darn shame that the movie wasn't better. After reading your description, it sounds like 2 hours of rape scenes with no bondage at all. I just don't get it. No matter how pretty she is...and she is certainly stunning based on the box cover...I would probably get bored if she wasn't tied down somehow. Holding someone down is good but just not the same. I gotta have ropes, handcuffs, some sort of restraint. Otherwise you're coasting too close to consensual hardcore sex, and I would probably be hitting the fast-forward button. That's probably why I tend to gravitate toward Attackers vids as opposed to Sharks. besides the obvious torture vs. rape themes, Attackers tends to tie up their victims a lot more.

I liked some of the clips you posted on YouTied, although I'll respectfully disagree about JBD-077 being superior to JBD-079. Attackers 77 had one long outstanding scene, the one where she's tied spreadeagled to the bars of her cell and tortured with hot candle wax and needles through her tits...indeed, that's one of the greatest scenes in Attackers history IMO. I just watched my DVD copy last week, as a matter of fact. And the resulting upside down dunking was also great, although that's only a 2-minute scene. The rest of the film doesn't achieve that high level, though. Whereas the other film is consistently great from start to finish.

Does anybody else think that YouTied has lost its luster lately? There have been fewer videos uploaded, and with a few exceptions (mostly the Japanese material), not a whole lot of interesting stuff that I've noticed. I have been slogging through some Something Weird Video DVDs and some movies I downloaded from Bizarro Video while I was a member and it is kind of depressing. I think perhaps modern BDSM fare had spoiled me for the old stuff. Just in case you see the Sexy Shocker Hardcore Horrors collection offered by Something Weird Video and think maybe they might be worthwhile, think again. I reviewed Horror Whore and Sex Seance, which made up Sexy Shocker Hardcore Horrors Volume 9. Here is my review of Volume 8, Which includes The Haunted Pussy and The Lucifers. They are mercifully brief, although really I could do it in one sentence: "Nothing to see here, move along."

The Haunted Pussy (AKA Come With Me My Love) (1976)

Something Weird Video bills this as The Haunted Pussy, but it shows up in IMDB as Come With Me My Love.

It is Kenmare City, 1925, in black and white. Dramatic music as feet walk up a staircase. It is a cuckolded husband who looks like a crewman from a Russian trawler and he walks in on his wife and her lover. And then the husband just stands there watching as she fellates her lover, and her lover performs cunnilingus on her, and then they do it missionary style and finish off kissing each other. It is XXX sex. He is outraged that his wife and his best friend have betrayed him! He clenches his fist. He pulls a pistol out of his tight jeans pocket (and here I thought he was just excited to see them). He shoots his best friend. "You fool!" taunts his wife, "I never cared for you!" It is Kenmare City, 1976, and in color. A gal who is the spitting image of the cheating wife has just moved into the exact same apartment. What are the odds. It has the same garish brass bed and the same hideous wallpaper. We know where this is going, but it takes an awful long time to get there. She walks in and immediately calls her friend, who is the (arguably) unattractive Vanessa del Rio, who is involved in a menage a trois with a bearded guy and another girl. Now THAT was a strange scene.

See, there's this gal and the bearded guy and they are already going at it hot and heavy when Vanessa del Rio walks in and says "hi!" The girl looks up, totally unperturbed, and says, "Gee, you're home early" or words to that effect. "Mind if I join you?" asks Vanessa del Rio. "No, come on down!" says the bearded guy in what I have to say is the gayest voice I had heard all day, and I watched some FOX News this afternoon, so I had heard some pretty gay voices. Lame XXX sex follows, interrupted briefly by the telephone call from the cheating wife lookalike. And there is the obligatory pussy licking scene where the heavily bearded guy is doing the heavily pubic haired Vanessa del Rio and we get to see a thick wet pink tongue slathering back and forth between two equally hairy orifices. Sometimes I wonder how I was ever able to enjoy 70s XXX movies.

So the cheating wife lookalike is sitting in her apartment and a bottle of sleeping pills and a glass of water suddenly appear. So of course she takes two pills and falls asleep, during which the ghost of the cuckolded husband appears and fucks her. If you were thinking oh wow a XXX sex version of The Entity where the ghost picks her up and fucks the living shit out of her and tosses her around and makes her scream and cry and fight like she is being raped, well then PSYCH! This is completely consensual haunted fucking.

There are lots of other random XXX sex scenes, including a lesbian sex scene with Annie Sprinkle. The cheating wife lookalike eventually overdoses on sleeping pills and dies, and she and the cuckolded husband ghost disappear together, happy at last in death I suppose. No GIMP value at all. No rape as far as I am concerned. No violence. No bondage. No gags. Nothing. This is a cautionary review. The GIMP grade is N/A. Go rent The Entity instead, and fast-forward to the parts where Barbara Hershey's body double is getting the living shit fucked out of her by a ghost.

The Lucifers (1971)

The second feature on the Sexy Shocker Hardcore Horrors Volume 8 DVD is The Lucifers.

The devil wanders around a Renaissance Fair unsuccessfully trolling for souls even though he is offering sex as a reward. He has a face that is half red and half white, split down the middle with a black line. Lame dialog. Unattractive performers. If you were thinking XXX sex and torture for sexual deviants who sold their souls for sex, you would be thinking about an entirely different movie from this one. There is nothing threatening or deviant in this movie at all. It doesn't even qualify as a horror movie. Just ho-hum XXX sex.

Once again, this is a cautionary review and since there is nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, that even comes close to being GIMP-y in this flick, it gets a grade of N/A.

Is this a theme form me here recently, or what? Not really my fetish, but boy a lot of hack writers have stolen this theme over the years haven't they?

The best scene is a mere 17 seconds longs, but what a scene it is. A completely naked Brinke Stevens is chained on a slab, her feet held down by the bad guy's robot Max. She struggles and whines so seductively... jeesh! The rape takes place off screen unfortunately...

Follow the link above for this scene, and let me know what you think. There are some nice bondage scenes in this movie also, but otherwise its forgettable.

I do think it was well done. Danielle De Luca did a great job of portraying the fear and vulnerability of being nude in the great outdoors. It was not extreme GIMP stuff, but it was a damsel in distress.

There were a couple of changes I would have made. First, I would not have the victim be a stripper, even though she was a reluctant stripper. She had already found out what it was like to be naked in front of strangers, so being naked outside had to have been a little less traumatic for her. Second, I would have left out the implied torture scene (What was he supposed to have done? I didn't see a mark on her). The thing is, she had to know, after that scene, that something bad was going to happen to her. Instead, I would have had her knocked out, perhaps in the guy's truck while she still trusts him, and then suddenly wake up naked and alone in the wilderness. That would have increased her shock and surprise. I think the key to the movie is the woman's horror when she find herself stripped to the skin in the middle of nowhere.

Anyway, the reason I looked for this film is that I have had a fantasy that involved being left completely naked, outdoors, with no help in sight. The difference is, in my fantasy my hands are cuffed behind my back, for added helplessness and vulnerability. It has to be handcuffs, because that means I have no way to free myself. If it was rope, I might find something sharp and cut myself loose. (I figure whoever left me this way would have thought this out.)

So I'm trying to make my way through the woods, totally nude (including barefoot), with my hands locked behind my back. If I remember right, this was the plot of some of the videos from Hidden Pleasures (which is now out of business, I think). Being hunted wasn't part of my fantasy, but it would add a sense of urgency to the situation. All I know is, there's something about being naked and helpless ouside that trips my trigger.

However, I must respectfully disagree with you on "Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity." For me, that was one of the bigger disappointments I've seen. I remember finding that video in a store and thinking I had hit paydirt. The one bondage scene I remember is the three babes chained AOH. I just finished watching Sexy Shocker Hardcore Horrors Volume 4 offered by Something Weird Video and this one had some GIMP. Sort of. The two titles in this volume are The Geek and Sex in '69.

The Geek (1971)

Something Weird Video bills this as The Geek and, surprisingly, that seems to be its only title. It could be described as "Three young couples hike into the wilderness in search of the elusive Sasquatch but the sex-hungry monster finds them first and attacks and rapes two of the women." And while it would be an accurate description, it would be misleading as hell, hinting as it does at brutal monster rape.

This movie is divided into three alternating sequences: (1) the nature walk, (2) XXX sex, and (3) Sasquatch rape. Fast forward to the 37:15 minute mark for the Sasquatch sex. The movie is only 50 minutes long, and the two Sasquatch rapes happen in the last 13 or so minutes.

So we begin with a nature walk and annoying narration telling us all about the legend of the Sasquatch, or Bigfoot, or, as it is referred to in this flick, The Geek. Three couples drive up in a VW microbus and start off hiking in single file. Nature walk time. They reach the campsite and set up camp. At the 11:30 minute mark, the first couple wander off and have XXX sex in the Great Outdoors. That lasts until the 18:30 minute mark. They wander back to camp. There is dialog. The second couple go into their tent and have XXX sex beginning at the 20:15 minute mark and ending at the 29:05 minute mark.

The next day they continue the nature walk until they find evidence of the Sasquatch. They walk up a slight hill and wait, like they are all hidden and out of sight or something but really, they are just hunkered down on the crest of a hill. Sure enough, the Sasquatch appears and I cannot even begin to describe how lame the costume is. Words fail me. The couple who did not previously have sex walk out to greet the Sasquatch. The guy hangs back. The girl walks right up and holds out her hand in greeting. The Sasquatch smells her hair, then gropes her, then pushes her to the ground and suddenly her pants are off and he is fucking her doggie style. She is participating, but no she's being raped, but no she's moving back against him, but no she collapses in exhaustion. I'm thinking there was confused direction and she wasn't sure what her motivation was for the scene. So technically she was raped. The whole sequence lasts about a minute from start to end, and there is nothing XXX about it.

The Sasquatch wanders off and the guy, who apparently just kind of stood there watching her getting fucked by the big hairy monster, rushes over and she cries in his arms. This is just another one of those instances where the girl is all for the rough and kinky outdoor sex but then cries rape afterward I guess.

The others walk down and one guy asks the other if he got it all on film. Okay, is it just me or does it kind of suck that these guys just sat up on the hill watching and filming the girl get fucked doggie style by a big hairy monster? Suddenly, the Sasquatch is back! They all flee, but the first girl to do XXX sex stumbles (ha ha) and the Sasquatch does her doggie style. He also fingers her and either smells her or licks her or just leans in close for a better view of her while she is bent over, patiently waiting for him to finish. Then he lays down beside her and cuddles for a while, then they take a brief, 20-second nap, then he gets up and starts to wander away when the three guys close in and an insipid fight scene ensues, but really they all just kind of run at the monster and he kind of dodges them, or sidesteps and pushes them away.

Finally tired of playing, the Sasquatch wanders off. The three guys regroup and male bond and one of them vows, "Someday I'm gonna get that filthy animal!" The girls return and help the most recently raped one pull up her pants, and they all walk off, presumably in the direction of the VW microbus, having communed with nature enough for one day.

So there were two rape scenes where the ridiculously costumed Sasquatch fucks two of the three girls doggie style (one at a time). Oh yeah. And Sasquatch has a little white limp dick, too, which we got to see once. No screaming or struggling. No real violence at all. This gets a D-. Also some XXX sex. About 16 minutes worth. But the girls are nothing to write home about. Give this one a pass.

Sin in '69 (1969)

The second feature on the Sexy Shocker Hardcore Horrors Volume 4 DVD is Sin in '69.

This is a confusing wreck of a movie, but someone who wanted to trick GIMP fans into buying or watching it would say it features a mysterious unknown sexually repressed killer who attacks and murders young women, tearing off their clothes in the process. That happens at the very beginning, about 26 minutes in, and at the very end. The first attack involves exposed breasts and although the killer "chokes" the girl to death, it looks like he is using shoestrings and she is already playing dead while he is still pretending to choke her to death. Lame, lame, lame. When he walks off, we see his white shoes. I can remember back in the 60s when I wore white shoes, I am ashamed to admit. So I am reluctant to suggest that anyone who wears white shoes is obviously a sexually repressed killer. But this guy is.

The second attack involves a girl in a white outfit and there is no nudity. Not even any choking. He is just struggling on top of her in the grass partially hidden behind a bush and then she goes still and he walks off with her purse, and we see he is wearing his white shoes.

The third attack happens in bed, with a guy still fully clothed in really ugly 60s clothes with a completely naked gal--and he's wearing white shoes! OMG! It's the killer! They are kind of necking, the naked gal and the white-shoe-wearing killer, when he pulls a butcher knife out from behind his back and tries to stab her. She struggles and screams. People rush in. He drops the knife and sits on the floor crying because he is in love with his sister. The end. OMFG.

There is XXX sex in this movie, scattered throughout in barely connected vignettes. The worst part of the movie is the folk singer who strums her guitar and "sings" a really, really bad song, really badly, during an orgy. I was idly wishing the killer would appear and snap the guitar strings off and bind her wrists and ankles with them and then bend her over and rape her with the guitar, which would increase the GIMP factor and stop her singing, a win-win situation in my book. But that didn't happen. It would have been a far superior movie if it had, believe me. A cautionary review, blah blah blah. Three attacks but no rapes, no bondage, no gags, no attractive women, not even good attack violence. Since it involves sexually motivated attacks, with some nudity, it does not get off with an N/A rating. Instead, it is an F.

Anyone know of cheaper, as in FREE, alternatives?

In fairness to me, I was up at 5:30 a.m. today due to some requirements at work and I am most definitely not a morning person.

Sardu: Gotta go along with Brutus on this one. Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity didn't do it for me at all. I did like that short scene with Brinke Stevens but like you say, it was only 17 seconds long. Plus gorgeous blonde Elizabeth Kaitan (one of my favorites) was in that and they didn't do anything to her except a metal collar and some weak bondage with manacles. You'd think a movie with a title like that would be jam packed full of good stuff, but it was a real letdown for me.

As I mentioned before, Something Weird will put anything on video, and there was a lot of low budget shlock that was churned out in the 1960s and 70s that is long forgotten, and obviously, for good reason. Today we will review a ZFX effort "Video Pirates 4", the conclusion of the series. Produced in 1995 with a run time of 75 minutes. It features Kelly McKay, Candi Licks, Rick Masters, Travis Lee, Harlan Broadway and that mega-star of cinema, Uncle Fester.

We open with segments from the previous entries in the series. For those unfamiliar with the storyline, Rick is a small time producer of bondage videos whose work is being pirated and each side attempts to destroy the others morale by abducting, tormenting and torturing nubile female associates and relatives.

In this installment Rick's sister Allysha and the blonde P.I. sent to her rescue are being held by the evil video pirates. Wearing nothing but high heels the P.I. is AOH, ankles shackled and spread to a 2x4 and cleave gagged. She gets lashed with the cat and a knotted line. Meanwhile Allysha is stowed in another room AOH, one leg tied and elevated, bound to a pipe with a belt around her waist and struggling mightily. Again we cut to Allysha who has not moved or subjected to other torments. But the P.I. has. Now bound wrists behind she is kneeling on a table with arms elevated to the ceiling and is cleave gagged. Her ass gets paddled amid much fondling. Our hero arrives the bad guy gets punched out and the lasses are rescued. Two weeks later our hero walks into the video pirates shop and he pops a couple of caps into Uncle Fester. The End

Movie Pluses - the P.I. is placed in a nice variety of situations - loved the c-clamps and mousetrap bits - both ladies are well endowed and easy on the eyes.

Movie Minuses - thought Kelly was under used and she was the reason I got this so I may have to regress to part 3 to get more of her - Candi did an ok job of selling her torment but just ok. And why don't they lose the high heels :).

The Verdict - not a superior ZFX effort but a nice view. It seems that in a number of the series efforts a pattern emerges. Episode 1 is ok or a bit better with the following entries building in intensity and innovation until the last entry which reverts a bit. I found that to be the case here.

Sloth: I agree with your assessment of "Video Pirates 4." That was one of my favorite ZFX series, but the final installment was a bit of a letdown.

Just think, under them, the next time we get somebody pregnant we may have the marry the bitch or get shot.

Meanwhile, you've raised another issue, regarding Uncle Fester. I have to confess, I've never been able to figure out which male villain is Fester (I've only seen him in mega-cast movies such as South of the Border 4).

A Republican who believes in less government would not want to police the internet, tell the FCC what is "obscene" for TV, and in what consenting adults watch on their DVD players or satellite TVs. That's the kind of GOP I prefer, not to be the self-appointed "morals police" that some in the party seem to think they are once they're in office or in an appointed position. Sorry for the political stuff, but as someone who voted for the losing ticket, had to get that off my chest.

Sloth: Thanks very much for your review of Video Pirates 4. The direct link for your review is in my Homepage URL above. I'm assuming you saw this on DVD? Because at least on VHS, Part 4 was NOT the conclusion of the series. Originally, there was actually a Video Pirates 5, which, looking at the DVD box on Video Mayhem's website, Rick has apparently combined parts 4 and 5 together.

In fact, in reading your review, I noticed there was no mention of the subplot involving Rick and Chandra Sweet interrogating Melisa Pope, which was hinted at in Part 1 but didn't really begin until Video Pirates 2. And actually Rick kept continuing this footage all the way through Part 5. What it did was make me keep watching all 5 tapes to get to the conclusion, because in my opinion, this is some of the best footage Rick ever shot. However, it was still a bit frustrating that all this good stuff was spaced out over 4 videos, rather than being combined into one long (and presumably excellent) movie. I know there have been a few times in the years of this forum that I publicly bemoaned that exact point.

That got me looking a little closer at the new DVD releases of the Video Pirates series. Apparently Rick took my advice! Judging by the female cast listed on the box covers, the Melisa Pope footage was removed from Video Pirates 3, 4 and 5 and now exists totally on its own in Video Pirates 2. Yes! I was so thrilled I ordered the DVD tonight. This is very exciting news, and I never even noticed it until after reading your review. It looks like the entire series was re-edited and restructured to make it more cohesive and to make each volume flow with its own storyline, rather than cutting between separate stories in different volumes. What's great is that as he's converting his original movies to DVD, Rick now has the time to make the improvements he probably wishes he could have done the first time.

In the meantime, I want to be the one to review the newly edited Video Pirates 2 on the forum. I missed out on doing a few more of my favorites, Squealer and Gangstarr, in the past because others beat me to it. The rest of you, hold off. This one's mine.

The first 3 volumes are the best, but I would definitely recommend the whole series. I should tell you that I watched mine on VHS and the review that John linked said they did a crappy job on the DVD transfer, so it might even be worth seeking out the actual videotapes if you can find them. Last year, we got a brand new, shiny, progressive, left wing government who, with almost no comment by the mainstream press, are going to be introducing compulsory (ie, at the level of ISPs) censorship of the internet [see URL for details]. Using the old refrain 'protect the children', laws that initially were going to allow parents to use filters on their children's computers to block out 'questionable content' are now going to stop any adult from using the internet freely. And worst of all, hardly anybody here seems to care about the implications of us adopting the censorious practices of such progressive nations as China, North Korea and Iran. The govt has even explicitly mentioned banning sites about euthanasia!

So, in a few months time, I might well not even be able to read this page. Depending on how the government sets up the filters, I will officially be living in a damn backwater. The irony is, that the nastiest things on the web are, of course, not on websites that come up in google searches, and the real sickos know how to disguise what they're dealing in. But two adults talking about rape fantasies, or adults talking about bondage films, will likely be impossible to read.

So I have to say, congratulations to America on getting a new President - I hope it works out well for you in every way, but never take the First Amendment for granted. Take that from someone living in a country without protected free speech, which is supposed to be a true democracy.

Gabriela Atar: I may have been exaggerating a bit about industrial equipment. I was thinking about the gag Jeff Gord used on Sugar Wilson in "Escape From the House of Gord." It was an OTM metal sheet and looked to be secured in place with locks and such. Basically, I'm thinking of a gag that you could never remove, even if your hands were free, unless you had a hacksaw or if I decided to show some mercy and give you the key (not likely).

I like Sloth's take on what he'd do to you, as well as his setting in the forest, but I'd make some changes for my own sick pleasures. First of all, I'd paint a target on your naked ass, ala "Blood Sucking Freaks," and I'd use a tranquilizer gun. I'd tie your hands with rope behind your back to give you a chance to use a rock to free your arms. It's more "sporting" that way. But you would still be unable to remove that gag. I'd give you an hour or so for a head-start, and maybe put you in a garter belt to keep you warm. I would track you down by hearing your mmmphs of frustration as you tried to remove that gag. And after I have shot your ass and rendered you unconscious, I'd treat you to a few days of sadistic abuse in my dungeon in the woods. This isn't an area I follow too closely, so I could be wrong, but I don't think this is any more imminent in Canada than it might be in the US.

As I understand it, the debates in Canada are currently focused on Net Neutrality (whether or not Internet providers offer preferential treatment to their own services) and around possible copyright legislation that would try to prevent people from copying and sharing files from purchased materials. The focus seems to be aimed at trying to reduce the numbers of people using BitTorrent and other file-sharing services.

I haven't heard anything about Canada moving toward a system where service providers would be expected to censor access to web sites. Indeed, here is a Canadian newspaper column from last week that mentioned the developments in Australia and their alarming prospects for the rest of the Western world, but nothing specifically about such developments happening in Canada. If this type of censorship was coming in the next few months, I'm sure the column would have mentioned it.

My, there have been more political posts here lately than we had before the election! At this point it all seems academic...the election is over, guys. We can only speculate what's going to happen, but there's not a whole lot we can do about it now. The people have voted and Obama is our President for the next 4 years. After re-watching the whole film, I see that I was wrong on a couple points. First, regarding the unseen torture scene, it becomes clear later in the film what the killer did to Diana, the primary girl in peril. She has some rather nasty marks on her legs, which indicate that he used his pliers to do some heavy-duty pinching of her thighs. (Ouch) It's interesting that in both the scenarios you guys cooked up for me, you mentioned torture beforehand. Maybe it's part of softening up the 'prey' before she is released into the wild.

My second point is that I originally objected to her being a stripper. But as I watched the first part of the film, I see that she is trapped into being a stripper. She has no choice. In the second part, she is also trapped, but this time it's in the hunter's game. Again, she has no choice. She is stripped naked and left to be hunted. Once again, she's forced to be nude, but in a much more brutal way.

That leads me to a question I have for the board. It's probably been asked before, but I haven't always been around here. My question is, how important is it, for you, that the victim, or girl in merciless peril, be totally nude? To me, it's a big deal. I feel a lot more powerless, vulnerable, and weak when I'm naked. I've never been forced to strip, or been stripped, in a situation where someone else was calling the shots. I can imagine that it would really take away alot of my power and dignity. I think it is definitely preferable for the victim to be completely naked. There's the humiliation factor. There's the vulnerability factor. Plus, I enjoy the unclothed female form. Well, the BrutalViolence website looked so intriguing I decided to check it out. I know it was discontinued, but I was kind of hoping they would do what Kink.com did. They are no longer updating Waterbondage, but you can still join and have access to all the updates back to Day One. That's five years of updates for $29.95. Pretty classy. ClassMedia? Not so classy.

The "Member's Area" consists of three pages of five movies each, for a total of fifteen movies. That's it. I e-mailed and asked if they cycled old movies through on a rotating basis, or what, thinking that surely BrutalViolence did more than fifteen updates during its lifetime. I received a terse reply that said: Brutal Violence isn't getting a lot of updates. Funnybdsm.com has updates in the part of Subspaceland every week. I will cancel your brutalviolence membership.

And sure enough my membership was canceled (effective in one month). Now, I didn't ask for a cancellation, mind you. I guess they get enough complaints that that's their standard response. I notice they didn't refund the membership fee, of course.

Just a note on a film I caught on one of the STARZ channels. It was a wall to wall GIMP flick, though actual turn on factor will depend on your tastes.

Oddly it was similar in them to the recent film about a babe being hunted in the woods that has been posted about here. Only this time the babe is hunted through an abandoned parking garage and she *sigh* isn't nude. That said it still is pretty interesting.

There is about 15-20 minutes of setup in the beginning. Hot babe works late on Christmas eve. It wouldn't surprise me if the writer didn't dream up the scenario while watching Die Hard.

When she finally tries to leave, her car won't start. After first meeting with creepy psycho, she finds herself trapped in the building. Her second meeting with mr. creepy he chloroforms her. She wakes up in a hot low cut white dress that mr. creepy put her in, chained by ankle to the Xmas dinner table. He offers to take her for a drive through the parking garage and as he's unhooking her ankle she stabs him with a fork.

This leads to him cuffing her hands behind her back. They drive around the parking garage until they find another victim - male unfortunately, who he dispatches. She manages to get out of the car and run off, still cuffed, through the garage. Then she manages to slide her body through the cuffs (hands down back, past ass, pull feet through). At this point, my GIMP mileage went way down.

That said, she is in handcuffs through the rest of the film, up until the credits roll. She gets dirtier and her dress ends up soaked with water, so some folks might find it a turn on to the end. She isn't nude, however she is one super hot strawberry blonde with a great rack. she reminded me a lot of Darling in general looks.

This is basically a horror movie, but she stays hot and clean enough until near the end when blood becomes prevalent. Definitely worth a GIMP viewing.

I like to find little seen/little known films just to see something a little different. Another reason is I am looking at flicks made on a budget. Aside from the performers salaries (mr. creepy was the teen pot dealer from American Beauty) this film could have been made on an extremely small budget. Very limited sets and action. Armed with such a concept an amateur filmmaker could easily put this together. Also it was entertaining enough to watch all the way through. Normally I fast-forward through such flicks when my peter-meter value drops off.

Well worth a GIMP look. I'd give it a B for GIMP storyline throughout, though I only found a few minutes of it truly erotic.

An aside, I am looking to add another site to my own family of sites. Anyone bondage producers out there already shooting and with some catalog of material should drop me a line. I don't recall seeing this one mentioned (we don't have a girls-nailgunned-to-a-cross database, but there are two scenes worth checking out. The first scene is very brief and occurs at the beginning of the movie. A blonde babe is nailgunned to a large wooden cross in an upside-down position wearing nothing but a loincloth. The second scene is longer and occurs in the last 10 minutes of the film. Van Peebles' girlfriend (the painfully lovely Gladys Jimenez) is tied to a cross wearing the same type of loincloth and nothing else and then gagged. Before the villain (read: guy with the right idea) has a chance to use the nailgun, Van Peebles arrives and spoils the fun. OK, it's a mainstream film, but how many of those have a topless chick tied to a cross for 10 minutes? The movie itself is so-so, but that last scene is pretty hot.

Actually, the grades have gotten mixed up here -- I gave JBD-077 a B+ and JBD-079 a B. Having recently revisited both movies as I snagged some clips for YouTied, I would stick with the B grade for JBD-079 (sorry, Ralphus) but would probably upgrade JBD-077 to an A-. I've developed a fondness for that film.

By the way, the cute star of JBD-077 -- Anjyu -- also appeared in Shark 231, which remains one of my favorite GIMP movies. I will be posting clips from Shark 231 on YouTied at some point, although I have to pace myself these days, as most of the clips from the Canadian vault have already been posted. YouTied is a beast that needs to be fed but it's getting more challenging to find worthy material.

I use Nero 6 (Nero Vision Express 3) to put my films onto DVD and I find that usually, converting files in SUPER to avi (container) using MPEG 4 (Output video codec) and mp3 as the Audio Output codec works for this.

We know that it's illegal in mainstream movies to nailgun the girlfriend of the hero. The nailing scenes that occur early on in the film give us a preview of what it's like. That makes the final scene more intense for the viewer, because it increases the sense of peril. Especially when the villain (played by James Remar, who was the maniacal "Gans" in the Eddie Murphy film, "48 Hours") puts the nailgun up to Gladys Jimenez' head and threatens to "nail" her if her boyfriend doesn't drop his gun. Oowee. That kind of thing puts the MP (merciless peril) in GIMP.

And unlike the gal in "P2", I can't slip the cuffs around to the front. I guess I have a bit more 'booty' than she does.

Also, regarding BrutalViolence, about mid-week they posted three more movies on a fourth page, bringing the total up to 18 movies. They haven't dropped any off yet. All still in RealMedia format. One was excellent. Maybe they are adding their library of files slowly, a week at a time. In which case, it might be worth a membership in six months or so when they have a lot posted.

I also noted that they held off processing my credit card transaction (for four days) until the exchange rate went up, so instead of paying what it would have cost when I signed up, it cost just a little bit more. Not sure whether that is sneaky international financial tactics or just slow office staff. I'm fairly sure reputable international companies honor the exchange rate at the time of the transaction. But what do I know?

Ralphus - unlike Brutus, I obtained a copy of "Exitus" on an ebay bid - got it for half the Asian Cult price but it rarely appears there - Brutus has it pretty well pegged as being mean spirited and fizzling at the end - a few more fill-ins before you go for it - Roman Nowicki/Trevor Barley or whatever name he uses today who does the "Fantom Kiler" stuff knows exactly what he's doing - he's making a T&A/bondage/slasher flick with no pretensions - A.M. Yep they are old power wheelchair assemblies slightly re-arranged. The most favourite are the Quickie P-200 and Quickie P-210.

This Darlo Cycle is using Quickie drives, but from an earlier model.. But it is destined to be rebuilt.

I use Nero Vision Express 3, which is part of a bundle of Nero products called Nero 6 reloaded. It's a few years old now but I find it works well. There are other programmes but I've not used them.

As with all things computer, it's relatively easy once you're used to it but appears daunting to start with. Nero can use most avi, mpeg and wmv files, but not mov or rm - these need to be converted. It is though a time consuming business. Editing involves opening the film in Nero, then cutting bits out or repeating bits (using the usual Windows copy and paste techniques) - you can edit very accurately. You can add two or more clips together too. In other words you can completely change a film to what you like. I've always used the original sound but you can add or remove sounds if you wish. A DVD will hold about two hours of good quality material (pixels 720 x XXX) or more if the films are of lesser quality but once you've edited it, it takes around four hours to prepare and burn the DVD. I usually do this at night as it can automatically turn off when done and it's best to leave the PC to get on with it rather then use it for other work at the same time.

I hear that. I use a different program but my experience is the same. My system was set up by a friend from work and it took some trial and error to figure it out -- I never would have got there on my own.

I sympathize with Ralphus's plight. Editing stuff on your computer is easy provided you can get yourself set up. But getting set up is tricky. If you're not a computer guy, I think you have to find someone who knows how to do it.

If you already have some stuff on a compilation DVD, one trick is to copy the material from your TV using a DVD Recorder -- you can use the pause button to skip the parts you don't want. It sounds crude (OK, it is crude) but it can work -- I've used the pause button to edit some of the stuff I've posted on YouTied. For example, I made a number of edits to this clip with nothing more than the "pause" button. I think it worked well, except for the one Ed Wood-ian glitch where you can see the "play video" words on the screen. That should have been corrected but I didn't notice it until after I had posted to YouTied.

Oh!, I forgot we did that. We added a machine vice, (chick sized) folded and clamped a few chicks in it, turned them upside down and double bored them front and back, simultaneously, with two fully automated boring heads I fitted to it.

I got the idea from a jig boring machine I had in my factory in South Africa..

Jeff Gord: Looking forward to your videos on YouTied. There's a huge difference in what people on that site like and dislike, so it will be interesting to see the reactions to your clips.

There are several other movies listed as being by or involving the same folks, such as "Road Kill," "Bonnie and Clyde vs Dracula," "The Sundowners," and "Devil's Fork." It appears that "Devil's Fork" is actually scheduled for release, and stars Tina Krause and Debbie Rochon, both B-Movie Goddesses in their own right.

But the blog is done in an annoying red-on-black color scheme that hurts me eyes and makes me reluctant to read it for any length of time, and I have some other items on my priority list before following up so I thought I would ask if anyone has seen any of these movies, and is there any indication that there may be more "Play Dead" type scenes and story lines in their oeuvre. Just wondering.

Yeah, "Play Dead" - ran into that trailer sometime back on YouTube - thought it looked pretty interesting but after looking into it I ran into about the same thing John Galt found only more dated - wish the lead chick was a bit hotter. And A Canadian is correct - that is Kevin Rowland of Dexy's Midnight Runners, finally out of drag - I'd recognize those armpits anywhere - it would seem his dungarees have taken some major hits over the years.

Play Dead is in post-production limbo and evidently on the back burner. That's kind of a bummer.

Yeah, that is kind of a bummer. The Play Dead trailer certainly shows promise, although it also reminds me of the dozens of other low budget horror films along that line that seem more concerned with killing and blood than with actual bondage and torture. Every now and then you'll come across a no budget gem like CUT that actually works, but mostly they don't deliver on their promise.

Not that I'm discouraging their efforts. Clearly, this Jeff Chitty guy has his heart in the right place, and if you check out the YouTube trailers on their MySpace page, there's definitely a bondage theme to his work. It's too bad the film hasn't seen the light of day except as a trailer, because one would have thought it would have at least gotten a DVD release by now. I would definitely be eager to check it out. It's filmmakers like this that are the future of GIMP-related mainstream entertainment. Hollywood tries but they usually forget about the all-important nudity. Are we ever going to see another film like Bloodsucking Freaks again?

Good to see this new Devil's Fork film is apparently going to get an actual release, and that he got both a couple big names (in the B-movie field anyway) like Debbie Rochon and Tina Krause to appear as the stars. What's amazing is that Rochon is already 40 years old and Tina is now 38. That just seems hard to believe. I still remember Tina as a nubile young babe getting tied up in virtually every WAVE movie ever made. 38 already? Sorry, that's just not right.

Maybe if we're lucky they'll be a few more Herschel Gordon Lewis remakes - "Blood Feast 2" turned out OK, "Wizard of Gore" less so - guess I'll have to rely on Bill Zebub :)

Yasmine (the lovely Karina Testa) and her fellow political rebels drive out to the French countryside to hide out in a cottage (hostel) on their way to Amsterdam. They are imprisoned by a bizarre family of neo-Nazis. After trying to escape and getting covered with mud and blood (not hers), Yasmine is chained to the ceiling and suspended with arms spread, then given the "hose-down" treatment. Unfortunately, the scene is short and the idiots kept her bra and panties on. A longer scene with nudity would have been noteworthy.

It's a terrific movie in its own right if you like intense, pulse-pounding violent action and heaps of gore. Otherwise, not much here for GIMPers.

But it wasn't long before the problems started. Posters to the board were complaining that it was taking way too long to acquire the film, if they even got it at all. Indeed, it had taken them much longer than promised just to deliver my DVD in the first place. Anyway, the problems continued and eventually the site closed down. People either were lucky enough to get the film or else they lost their money. Bottom line: the filmmaker dropped the ball big time. I felt foolish for promoting it because I was indirectly responsible for people getting cheated out of their money. The ones who got to see the film gave it mostly positive reviews although the consensus was that they wanted to see the lead actress naked.

In the past years, it became harder and harder to get hold of the film. The last place I found that carried it was Stray Thoughts. They still have it listed on their website but it says Sold Out. I don't think the film is even around for ordering anymore. I haven't seen it available for years. I guess I was one of the fortunate ones who got a copy when it was still available.

From what I've seen the girls are usually lovely and the situations good but the concentration seems to be on torture with very little sexual tension or indeed sex. It's certainly not for me.

Ted Bundy (2002)

I have often found that serial killer movies, with perhaps the GIMP viewer in mind, often start off with a damsel in distress. "Ted Bundy" begins with the protagonist (Michael Reilly Burke) making weird faces and monkey noises in front of his mirror. Not a good sign.

This movie, directed by Matthew Bright, is obviously about the notorious real-life killer of more than 30 women. The movie's body count is also fairly high, but each attack leaves much to be desired from a GIMP point of view.

Ted's a student but seems to spend most of his time driving around in his yellow VW Beetle, rubbing his crotch and checking out babes on campus. He's also a shoplifter who wears a dorky bow-tie and cheap suit.

In the first incident, Ted whacks off in an alley while watching a woman undress. After a neighbor dumps water on Ted, the angry villain clubs a woman on a sidewalk and steals her purse. Then he visits his girlfriend Lee (Boti Ann Bliss) in a scene apparently thrown in to make him appear somewhat normal.

During consensual love-making with Lee (with nudity,) Ted wants to take her from behind. But she's appalled and only wants to do it "regular." Ted obliges but chokes her and thrusts violently because "that's what love feels like to me!" She pushes him off, gasps for breath and apologizes to him. Lee is obviously not the sharpest knife in Ted's drawer.

Ted picks a lock and enters the bedroom of sleeping woman. He knocks her out, handcuffs one wrist to the bedframe above her head, and then punches her repeatedly with the impact not shown. Pointless violence. Pointless scene for GIMPers.

Our killer later follows a blonde in a tie-dye shirt into her bedroom where she immediately falls asleep. (Maybe she was watching this movie.) He handgags her, knocks her unconscious and carries her body to his car. We then jump to yet another scene with Ted and his girlfriend.

Ted does the old broken-arm-in-a-cast ploy and gets a brunette to help him carry his books to his car. He knocks her out with a crowbar and then ... nothing.

We quickly switch to a scene with Ted and Lee at a party, followed by him carrying a woman in shirt and panties into the woods, with her wrists handcuffed in front. He announces that he's in power, blah blah blah, and strangles her with rope. Yawn.

As female students disappear seemingly every night, Lee finds handcuffs in Ted's car. What follows is what I found unintentionally hilarious dialogue:

Lee: What the hell are these? (holds up handcuffs)

Ted: I dunno. Never seen them before. (walks away)

Ted talks the obviously gullible Lee into some bondage sex. Her wrists and ankles are tied with stockings to the bedframe above her so her legs are spread wide. As Ted thrusts away, Lee looks bored. Ted gives her orders to pretend she's dead. "Fuck! You! Bitch!" Now why doesn't he do this to unwilling participants?

Ted, doing the broken arm trick again, gets a bikini-clad blonde at a beach to help him with his sailboat. Believing that a guy in a beat-up old Volkswagen owns a sailboat, she climbs in the car. The trick works again on a second woman.

In a cabin in the woods, the first woman is standing handcuffed to pipes and covered in blood. The second woman escapes and we have a slow-motion chase through the woods. Ted smacks her with the crowbar, returns to cabin and rapes and beats her in front of bleeding blonde. He then crushes the rape victim's head with a large rock (not shown) and kills the blonde offscreen.

I guess that scene could be considered the best in the movie. But the rape lasts only a few seconds, there's no nudity, and the victims are all bloody.

Ted's now off to Salt Lake City, and we get glimpses of his victims on his way, some naked, some decomposed, hints of necrophilia, etc.

After a bungled abduction where the woman pretty much kicks the shit out of Ted as he tries to handcuff her, our "hero" kills a cute cheerleader in parking lot with crowbar and strangles a woman in a hallway. *Yawn*

Ted gets arrested, escapes while the guard has a smoke, gets caught again in an unexplained scene, and escapes again.

In Florida, Ted breaks into a sorority house and bludgeons four women *yawn* while they're sleeping. He also kidnaps a girl and rapes her offscreen.

After he gets caught again, we finally get some bondage and forced penetration. Unfortunately, it's Ted being strapped to the electric chair and the guards shoving cotton balls up his ass to prevent him from shitting himself.

I'm really not sure what the director was striving at in this movie. I didn't find the film shocking, disturbing or scary in any way. I thought the acting was rather poor, and the dialogue inane at times.

Perhaps the intention was to underscore the dangers of being gullible or naive, much like this reviewer checking out this movie a second time to see if there was anything GIMP-worthy in it.

Red Ridge is about a young woman and her boyfriend who run afoul of white slavers in Texas. She ends up spending a lot of time handcuffed to a bed with her mouth taped shut and sexually abused, later another girl is also captured and abused and then hung from a tree. I won't spoil if she lives or not.

The Cellar Door is about a guy who has a woman chained up in his basement. In the first few minutes she escapes and he goes after her. After that mishap he tries something new and makes a cage in his basement to keep the next girl in. The first actress's name is Christina Reynolds. I mention her because her scene is the best mainstream thing I've seen since Natalie Avital in Shallow Ground. Her bondage is really harsh, and she acts her heart out. Damn fine job. The next girl is named Michelle Tomlinson and she has a real wicked sexiness. She is never in bondage, though, just locked in the cage.

13 Hours in a Basement: Notice how many horror movies lately, especially independent ones, have a heist crew and some hostages beset by a supernatural menace of some kind? Here's another one. That said, I really liked the movie. It is well plotted and paced, with a good story that moves along nicely. For us, the hostage is bound and gagged, and one of the ghosts is a young woman in a bit-gag.

A movie that seemed promising but that I didn't really like was The Girl In The Basement (aka Reindeer Games) (1996) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0234583/. If you're not a gag snob like I am you might like it a little better than I did, it is very low budget about a poor shy guy who knocks out one of his co-workers and cuffs her to a chair in his basement. She is only gagged once, pretty loosely and only for a few seconds, for the curious. She is also a complete bitch. Very little sexual anything, because he just kinda goes down there off and on and she says nasty shit to him and he goes upstairs and mopes.

Those are my finds. I like sharing them here, especially since this board has tipped me off to such great stuff I might not have found otherwise, like (oddly enough) Caroline Branson's site ((http://www.bounddomination.com/), or The Great American Snuff Film (2003) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0471726/.

These are important questions for the discriminating snuff fan!

The strangulation in the hallway (by hand) also lasts for about 15 seconds. But for most of it, you can only see the woman's legs kicking. The entire scene is shot from far down the hallway, so there are no views of her face. She is fully clothed.

The other deaths are pretty much instantaneous via ambush-bludgeoning. The shots are mainly of Ted swinging away with the victims hidden from view.

DHT: I agree that "Cellar Door" did start off with a bang. I also thought the stalking of Michelle Tomlinson was extremely well-done. Too bad the villain didn't tie her up and gag her like he did to Christina Reynolds. "13 Hours" is now on my radar. Thanks.

Ralphus - years have I searched for "Cut", all to no avail - various folks told me how damn good it was for a little indie - I'm still checking eBay every so often hoping one of those lucky few who got it will cash in - till then, just reading your review gives me a stiffy.

John Galt - have viewed quite a number of those Inquisition titles - in agreement with A Canadian - all the early efforts were flawed in some fashion, later efforts a bit better but still lacking intensity IMHO - still, the models are always attractive and they do feature lots of rack scenes - quite pricey I think for what you get.

DHT - saw "Red Ridge" and thought it quite good - you seem to tend toward that "13 Hours" flick - if it's as good as "Red", I'll certainly give that a gander and thanks for that heads-up.

jhlipton - having seen "Ted Bundy" and recognizing your excellent discriminating taste in all things asphyxia related, our friend Brutus is on the money - scenes far too short, filmed in dim lighting or odd angles, all to do with that most dreaded term "looking into the mind of the serial killer" and nothing worthy of Gimpdom - view only at your peril :)

I'm not even sure that I should be doing this, but I confided in Ralphus privately that the current topic regarding the Bundy film was to me; - distasteful and inappropriate in the extreme. I also said to Ralphus that this was the reason I sometimes dropped out of sight for a while. basically as a supporter of free speech it would be hypocritical of me to say it should be banned from the Gimp pages. Ralphus reminded me that free speech was a two way street.

I was still unconvinced until I noticed that many of the usual voices on this forum had fallen silent, and I got to wondering if they also had issues with the way this conversation was going.

Basically I have a major issue with people arguing that the film producer should have shown more graphic details of people in REAL LIFE, REALLY DYING. Where next I might ask. Let's have a film about the Canadian pig farmer and really go to town on him with graphic images of him torturing these gals to death and then feeding them to the pigs or stuffing parts of them through sausage machines and selling them from his farm shop.

These are real women who were reduced to a few dental fillings, teeth, and bits of bridge work that the cops found in the pig shit of the styes.

How about Mr West in UK.. They gave up counting at forty three known to have been kept alive for a long time in his various cellar dungeons and slowly tortured to death. The estimate, assuming that he actually didn't stop killing during the seven years he basically vanished off radar is that his death toll may be over one hundred.

These were real people that died in terror and agony.

We all know about the dark side of human nature and all of us know about exploring this in a way that is acceptable. Many times I have had members to my site say to me that they felt comfortable with exploring this dark side because they knew the ladies would not really come to harm. Well this current discussion, in my opinion is crossing the line. Drooling over and jacking off over the actual deaths of people is way out of line.

Take a moment to read what is on the front of this website and then reflect on the discussion in question.

Nor do I have any conviction that events as shown in the movie actually happened that way in Real Life, aside from the fact that that he killed a lot of women. So it's not like I'm saying "ooh, that is so cool the way he strangled that one helpless girl," knowing who the girl was and somehow celebrating or getting off (I guess you would say "jacking off") on her brutal murder. It's not like I have actual photographs of the actual victims and I am actually enjoying fantasizing about actually raping and murdering them. That seems to be what you are suggesting.

Did the Nazis conduct lewd and horrendous experiments on women and brutally gas them during World War II? If so, should we reject GIMP movies that portray such things, knowing they happened to real women? Since Jack the Ripper really preyed on prostitutes, who were real women, should we shun movies about Jack the Ripper? The Inquisition and the Salem witch persecutions are historical facts, involving real women as well. Does that make the Inquisition Live web site a worse web site than a web site that just thinks up new and innovative ways to torture women for members' viewing pleasure?

I believe you are trying to draw a dangerously fine line. I think maybe you have your comfort zones and you are uncomfortably close to suggesting that people whose tastes are outside of your personal tastes are somehow suspect or perverse. I know a lot of people who would raise an eyebrow at power mowers that fuck bound and helpless women. (I personally think it's kind of awesome.)

I am also a bit alarmed at your suggestion that sexual tastes that deviate from yours are somehow gateway tastes that will ultimately lead to child pornography. That hoary hobgoblin of an argument against any and all forms of pornography or even erotica is kind of a cheap shot.

Yours is a valid viewpoint, but not one that I share. I understand what you are saying, but I disagree with your characterization of GIMPers who would have liked to see more on-screen sex and violence in the Ted Bundy movie.

I believe something similar may be in play when it comes to a GIMPer's comfort level with a movie scene based on a true-life incident.

In early 2006, I was asked to review the movie Karla, which was based on the true-life rapes and murders committed by Canadians Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo. As I wrote in my review at the time, I was uncomfortable going to that movie because that case was so familiar to Canadians, particularly Canadians living in Ontario. We all knew exactly what the victims had looked like, what their families looked like, what Homolka and Bernardo looked like, what Homolka's murdered sister, Tammy Homolka, had looked like, etc. Unless you lived in a cave, you were really close to that case, and it is still an emotional issue (the murders were committed in the early '90s). When Karla Homolka was released from prison in 2005 after serving her sentence, it was still front-page news in Ontario and there was plenty of public outcry.

By contrast, I don't know an awful lot about Ted Bundy other than some general details about his crimes. If you put his picture in front of me, I wouldn't recognize him. Thus, I don't think I would be uncomfortable watching the movie (at least, not for these reasons -- the reasons Brutus cited are another matter).

I also wasn't uncomfortable watching The Accused, with Jodie Foster. In fact, the early part of her rape scene, when she is being pinned to the pinball table, gets me kinda hot. I plan to post that scene on YouTied in the near future (I just know Bondage Dave will love it). But I imagine I would feel differently if I were more familiar with that case. Again, my knowledge of that one doesn't go much deeper than my knowledge of the Ted Bundy crimes. I certainly don't have the emotional connectedness that I had to the Bernardo/Homolka case.

To further complicate the issue, sometimes a movie can be so compelling that I struggle with it even if I'm not familiar with the real-life details. The movie version of Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door is a classic example. It was so powerful I felt real anguish for the female victim. It was a great movie, as drama goes, but I couldn't even begin to try to enjoy that one as erotica.

So, my point is I don't think the issues around the movie Ted Bundy are issues of people's goodness or badness. I think it has more to do with your level of emotional attachment to the actual events. As John Galt said, sometimes you can enjoy a film that's based on real events if you are simply watching it as entertainment.

Or maybe I'm just rationalizing....

I would also build on John Galt's final point and say I hope we don't lose any GIMPers over these discussions. If we're going to address these topics, it is best to be honest. That means there is a risk people might get offended. But I don't think anyone would be happy if we all started being less honest through some sort of politically correct self-censorship.

Like most people here, I view the women in such films simply as actresses, not the real-life victims. In fact, for the Bundy film, I completely shut out what happened to the real victims and didn't bother to think that this had occurred to an actual person. I view such films as works of art (some good, some bad) with actresses who are not really being hurt. Is that insensitive or distasteful to the real-life victims? I don't see it that way. My descriptions are based on the actors and actresses' performances. Not on what happened to real-life people.

I do understand what you are saying. In fact, I reviewed the latest "BTK" film with some reluctance because Rader's arrest was still in the news and it could have been seen as "crossing the line." And I probably won't watch "The Girl Next Door" simply because of the age of the real victim.

Yet I do not think the discussions here, whether they are focused on bondage, torture, rape or even death in film, condone real-life crimes against women. I also think it is unfair to single out "death scenes" for criticism. Our tastes vary from the soft to the extreme. As long as no one gets hurt, it's not cool to judge someone's fetish or fantasy.

That being said, I also agree with John Galt and A Canadian in that I hope you and others here express your views instead of disappearing. These are good points to debate.

Sometimes it's hard to justify having fetishes like we do, where we can get off on suffering and abuse. But it's all in how we are wired, and we can't change anything about ourselves any more than a leopard can change his spots. Try to remember, though, that we are talking about fictional films, even if they are based on true events. Nothing we do can change what happened to those innocent victims. As far as movie recreations based on actual events, I think we feel safe enjoying scenes like that because we KNOW that what are watching is not real and that the actresses onscreen are not really in any danger. The people that perform acts like this in real life are not heroes to be celebrated. On the other hand, though, I don't see anything wrong with any kind of violent fantasy, as long as you don't act upon it in real life like someone like Bundy did.

As far as your contention that many of the usual voices on this forum have fallen silent because of this current discussion, I don't agree, or if they have, it's because we have a small but vocal group of regulars here and unfortunately, the majority of our readers silently lurk. Brutus just posted his review yesterday so not that many people may have even read it or had a chance to respond yet. This is the first opportunity I've had to post myself because I've got a lot going on in my real life.

But if you'd really like to know what the people here think of the whole issue, I would invite you to click on my Homepage URL and scroll down to my post on October 16, 2007. That was the day we started an official GIMP poll on the exact same subject and we had a LOT of people responding that time. Take a few minutes and read what the guys had to say; there's some really interesting posts in the days that followed. By and large they echoed the responses already stated so far by John Galt, A Canadian, Brutus and myself.

That's not to say that your opinions on the subject are not valid, and we certainly respect you for having an opposing viewpoint and stating it with such conviction. Personally I don't agree, but I applaud you for standing up and taking the time to state it on this forum. This board is all about free speech, and like the others, I definitely wouldn't want you to stay away just because you may hold an opinion that perhaps the majority of the readers may not agree with. You are always welcome here.

In principle I don't support the death penalty. Almost every country that abandoned it did so because they discovered they had executed innocents. It was finally stopped in UK after they executed a guy called Hanratty, who was found to be innocent, and then the final nail in the death penalty coffin was when they executed a woman who was proven to be innocent six months later.. It is far easier to let someone out of prison and give them a huge golden handshake, than raise them from the dead if you fucked up.

I get the point that the Bundy movie was just that, a movie, with actors. But somehow, reveling in a movie that portrayed real deaths (not so long ago either) and then discussing the fact that it should have more graphic details; - and discussing it in a way that clearly indicates sexual arousal at the thought of more detailed accounts of the unfortunates, is somehow wrong in my book..

Feeling anguish is one thing: a totally human response, especially when you feel so helpless to change the outcome. God knows I have reason to know how that feels for real. Wishing it was worse or depicted in a way that was worse is not the same thing at all..

Valid point, but I think misleading. Men's Own abounded with such tales, but they were clearly made up stories by my predecessors in this business, and the stories were often given the historical Nazi angle to try and creep past the draconian censorship of the 60's which allowed for items of "historical interest". I would say that all of the porn movies made today about the Nazis are fantasy recreations. Were they "actual stories" of "real women" it would be a different story. The one I know of that was really based on true life was a British TV movie called "A Man Called Intrepid" He was a Brit spy master who sent a woman to her death by giving her false info about D Day and then betraying her to the Nazis so that they would torture the info out of her and thus believe it was true. One big problem, he misjudged the strength of women. She never broke under torture and in the end a Nazi major took pity on her and shot her three months later. The spy master Intrepid also shot himself just after the war ended. That was definitely one for the "anguish" category. So I think we should all have issues about thirsting for more coverage of the actual torture that took place; - don't you?..

I lurk because the topics aren't relevant to me, not because they are distasteful. Well, let me put it another way. They often ARE distasteful ... but I just don't care.

I'm a First Amendment extremist. To me, no sounds that a human can make should ever be banned. And, communication has value. In fact, I have often thought (and I know there is academic research on this) that there is a connection between real violence and the inability to express oneself.

So I think talk should never be inhibited.

That said I agree with you, Jeff, on some levels. The "too close to real life" alarm bells that go off for me when talking about a jerk like Bundy, for example, drain most possible sexual pleasure completely out of it. In fact, maybe even more so for me, because as I have noted on this board before there is a huge variety of tastes on this board, and for me one of the most important elements of BDSM flix is not losing myself in the fantasy but instead thinking about the reality, about the actress and what is really happening to her on-screen and what motivates her to allow herself be filmed doing these things and how she feels... That's a pleasurable musing. But thinking about the real person who was a victim of a Bundy, that gets sour fast and I don't even want to think of it.

So yeah, sexual violence is a turn off for me in general. And specifically, sexual violence stories based on real life incidents are ugly, because they are disrespectful to the real victims and their families and they introduce an ugly flavor into what otherwise is a delicious stew of meandering in the sexual psyche.

But again, so what? It would be just as inhuman to deny that people get off on these stories more than just morbid fascination, dishonest not to acknowledge as INXS used to sing that every single one of us has some devil inside.

The literary deconstructionists make interesting observations about phenomena like this. If rape and murder are so awful and disgusting and wrong, then why does the media so prominently and graphically cover it? One writer (David something, can't remember) wrote extensively about how the tabloids splashily report these stories but always with a "tsk tsk" tone attached to let the reader pretend she can distance herself from the story and the fact that it turns her on a little. "Oh, dear readers, this story is just so shocking and gory and horrible that we just HAVE TO cover every second of it in minute detail." Look at the ratings the OJ case, got, which became an ugly ENTERTAINMENT phenomenon in a circumstance where the reality was that two people were painfully hacked to death with knives.

I'd much rather be on a site where people are honest with themselves and are willing to honestly say and acknowledge things like, "You know what? I've got to admit that description of what happened to that girl turned me on a little" or even "Is there a person among us who hasn't wondered, at least once, what would it have felt like to be Bundy, to lord oneself over another person in that way."

It's human, all too human to give your brain space to think about and mull over and consider the possibilities -- before rejecting the bad ones.

So there is not a word that has ever been spoken on this board that has ever offended me. Made me shake my head in wonder? Sure. Turn away in disgust? Sure. (Ralphus's burning fantasies are a good example). Wonder occasionally whether the poster was one of those people who really would go over the line and be a Bundy? Yep. It starts of with her tied naked to the chair, and the first scene starts from behind... her hands tied behind, and you see a little butt crack. Pretty racy for 1979 TV. He breaks a vase in front of her to talk about how he will break her, and her tied bare feet are shown.

There is one scene where the woman's lover breaks down and calls the officer, saying the information is false and not to hurt her. He assures the man that she is ok, but then the camera pans, and she is shown suspended, AOH, from a chain, harsh whip marks all up and down her body...and it's a full nude shot from behind.

As I recall, the woman lives, spending the rest of the war in a concentration camp. She's released when the allies arrive, but she's scarred in the face, and partially missing an ear.

Pretty harsh stuff. I've never been able to find that on video or DVD, but as a young man that ranked right up there with "House of Wax" as one of my favorite GIMP scenes (before I knew what GIMP was). I had assumed that the movie was a fictionalized account... Is this woman spy's name even known today??

That version of "A Man Called Intrepid" with York and Niven is nothing like the story I saw. I think I remember that one as well. Maybe I got the titles confused. I think the German officer in the one I am referring to was played by the same guy who was in the movie with Burt Lancaster called The Train, At least I think it was him;- er Paul Scofield I think. It was a black and white version in fact.

I just ran the Mike York thing on Google search and the description bears no resemblance to the one I saw. I think it could have been another one of the Hollywood remakes/rip-offs that took a lot of licence with an original film. I do remember the one I am thinking of had the prologue giving dates and times where it could, but claiming that names had been changed because at that time is was still covered by the 40 year Official Secrets Act non disclosure thing.. It was if I remember correctly shown as a four part series. I have a feeling it predated me leaving for South Africa which would put it at pre 1975.

The real woman was in fact described as a young French speaking Jewish girl who was trained as a spy in UK. She was specifically selected to carry information to the French Resistance about the D Day landings, and never knew that they were feeding her false stuff. She was also specifically selected because she was originally a low level cypher clerk working at Bletchley, and had only rudimentary training as a spy as a part of the plan. The cover story they gave her was that her knowledge of cyphers would be needed to teach the French resistance new codes to deal with the landings. She thought she was carrying the real thing. She was considered to be weak, unlike an experienced field operative who was already battled hardened so to speak, and would break relatively easily and spill the beans. But she was tough and she figured tens of thousands would die on the beaches if she cracked, which is why she never cracked under torture.

She was then outed soon after she was dropped into France before she could get to the resistance. I'll do some research and find out what the real name of that TV movie was.

You may not like what I do, and that is your right, but trying to compare the consensual activities of gals who love doing that stuff with reality is a bit of a stretch.

I think you are right, "Carve Her Name With Pride" seems to have all the main aspects of the one I remember. I also found that one when researching. However, it's too early. That was 1958 I was still in school and we didn't have a TV back then.. The one I saw was most definitely a TV serial version, two or more episodes, and it was in black and white.

I am probably getting a confused mix of all three previously mentioned.

So anyway, I am guessing it was an ITV or BBC serial set around the mid to late 60's that I saw, that was probably based on the same details that the movie "Carve Her Name With Pride" was about. If it was the BBC (and that is the more likely seeing as ITV was still a fledgling) then it may well be the most accurate version, They didn't play the Hollywood game of altering it to suit themselves in those days, especially with a British woman as the subject. The BBC was renown for accuracy at that time. Case in point about Hollywood doctoring stuff would be the movie about the US bomber crew on their last tour of duty mission over Berlin. In fact that was a British Halifax crew and their bomber, but Hollywood refused to finance it unless it was made as a US bomber crew.

Horror movie aficionados who are not BDSM aficionados would probably bristle at Jeff Gord's suggestion they are on some kind of slippery slope for craving greater inventiveness and cruelty in their movie fare, even if it is based on a true story. Their response would be "Hey, it's only a movie!"

And indeed, no matter how horrendous the plot, or how terrifying the suspense, or how explicit the torture or murder, at the end of the day it is an actress pretending to be terrified, tortured or murdered with the help of a special effects team. It is only a movie, and no one is actually getting hurt.

BDSM aficionados, however, tend to cross the line between reality and fantasy on a regular basis. I'll even give my example a Gordian spin.

In the movie Barbarella, Duran Duran locks Barbarella in a pleasure machine that strips her naked and then sets about fucking her to death. Barbarella, sex kitten that she is, burns out the machine. At no time, of course, was actress Jane Fonda actually fucked, to death or otherwise, nor was she in any pain. (She probably wasn't even totally naked, dangnabbit.)

Because you are a horror movie fan and that is what makes for a great horror movie.

On the other hand, if the train passes by while an actual dom-sub session is in progress, socially responsible casual observer that you are, you might dial 911 and report an assault and rape.

However, if you are riding on the BDSM train, and you watch, experience, or inflict (even consensual) pain on fellow aficionados on a regular basis, you might feel different about what is "appropriate" and what is "inappropriate." You might be whipping your sub hard enough to raise welts and leave bruises, but it heightens her sexual arousal and when you begin having rough sex while she is still tied up it is an incredible rush for the both of you. Then you sit down to watch Ted Bundy and it is disturbing.

I have noticed that VM's homepage has started to become a little too cluttered lately. There are just too many images and links from previous updates on the main page. Ted Bundy committed an estimated 40 murders between 1974 and 1978. For many years, he was the symbol of pure evil, until others came along, like Jeffrey Dahmer, and took his crown.

As for Video Mayhem's website, it works OK for me. In my case, I mostly look for the updates regarding the Japanese and ZFX movies and those updates are easy to find. One issue VM will need to address at some point is the link for the New Slave Island movies. The link only shows one title available but Video Mayhem actually sells two New Slave Island movies (and hopefully a third one soon).

I do like the fact Video Mayhem is bringing back some of the older Attackers titles. In addition to the RBD films added this month, and the two movies we know are coming (Attackers JBD-077 and Attackers JBD-079), it will be interesting to see what other titles are added. I have posted clips on YouTied from some of the older movies I like (Real World III, Shark 231) and there's definitely an audience for Attackers JBD-068. But who knows which movies Video Mayhem will recommend? I'm looking forward to seeing the updates.

I like the idea of having English site as an option instead of only Japanese language. Sadly I have always been afraid of the "Re-Occuring Billing" since I took a beating on one that only gave you a limited window to drop your membership. I got burned for a couple extra months for a site that didn't update. I have heard the old we use a third party billing and we don't have control over what or how they go about with their paid members. If you could indulge a 2d question -- Do you know who Badia is or how to contact him (or her)? I understand he's a Spanish artist whose work appears on BDSMArtwork and DrawingPalace (European drawing sites).

His work would/could provide great ideas for BDSM filmmakers like you. A lot of what's in the market these days -- e.g., Sex and Submission, Dan Hawke, ZFX, etc. is pretty formulaic and needs some artistic inspiration, IMHO.

I'll tell you this man, I've seen a number of your efforts to reproduce that style of bondage. For those that may suggest that this just a gimmick to make money, I personally think that some of your work is so close as to be indistinguishable from the original. If I honestly can't tell the difference, I really don't care. But I do need to add one note. There are quite a few stills on your website that are near perfect in their look. However taking a still that could fool any 'chadscan' collecter and finding a model that can express herself like Renee Baker are two very different things. Thanks for the kind words, I have tried to catch that feel of the H.O.M. images but feel that I fall short. It's nice to hear compliments coming from a chad's scans collector. I can tell you that the models we use will not have many tats, little to none. Also we will use girls that are not well known. The productions will be abduction based and will all have story lines and scripts. Blakemore or Whitman will actually appear in them as of this point.

Scribbler, you have always struck me as being spot on whenever you post regarding issues. I do remember seeing J. Sgt. Major: Good to see you back around these parts again. I recall around this time last year you were talking about producing a movie with an HOM feel to it, and to recruit a true living legend like John Blakemore is quite a feather in your cap.

Now, not to be combative, because I do believe you, but if you're such close friends with Blakemore and there's some confusion about whether Blakemore and Whitman are the same guy, why not..you know...just ask this Blakemore person? I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't be able to clear up the mystery on his own. Keep in mind that Dan Hawke, who introduced this guy to you, says that Whitman is NOT John Blakemore. It is odd, too, that this person you're talking to seems to have relatively little knowledge of the HOM performers and said he hasn't really looked at his old stuff. Dan said he also didn't have any of the old HOM movies so Dan had to send him some. And let me get this straight...neither of you have ever even seen this guy, he's just a voice with a Southern accent on the telephone? Yup, that's mysterious, all right.

I wanted to let the board know that I got hold of the Director's Cut of the German horror flick Exitus Interruptus this week. Well, guess what? Even though it was director's cut, that scene in my DVD was edited...badly. No hardcore sucking, and the bloody ending was trimmed to almost nothing. What a rip! So I researched and found out that the Director's Cut runs 94 minutes, but get this: the X-rated version that Brutus linked over at Asian Cult Cinema is 115 minutes, some 21 minutes longer! I didn't hesitate. I did what I should have done the first time and ordered the X-rated version. The edited version was great by itself, at least in terms of GIMP material, so I can't wait to see what's included in the 21 minutes I missed. This might be one of the best films I've seen all year. I'll review it if I can find the time.

Also of note in your briefing room, August 1st, you replied to a question from me and wrote "His real name is not Blakemore in fact he was not aware of it until I or Dan Hawke had mentioned it to him." Which tells me that he did not know of the Blakemore alias until you (or Dan) told him that people were referring to him as that.

And it's true, many people refer to him as Blakemore. And I was one of them. For the longest time, I thought Blakemore/Whitman/Cole were the same person's aliases. However, I no longer think that.

Whitman/Cole are the same person: Whitman; the cinematographer, rigger, and the most often seen HOM villain in 8mm loops, and Bizarre Tristar videos: Bitter Sweet Revenge, Tourist Trap, etc. and some Calstar vids, and as Matthew Cole for the Calstar Punished vids.

John Blakemore is credited, in HOM mags from 1981 to 1988, as photo editor (Russell Budd is credited as photo editor in HOM mags preceding 1982, Whitman photos go back to the early 70s). Since there were virtually no photographer credits in the mags, many HOM mag readers looked at the mag credits and wanted to assign a name to who was doing the photography, rigging, etc. and as there were (virtually) no photographer, rigger credits concluded that John Blakemore was probably the photographer, rigger. I did too. But I, and they, were wrong IMO. A photo editor is NOT a photographer credit. Photo editors choose and hire photographers (though at HOM I think Barbara Behr did this). Photo editor's other duties include choosing from many photos which photos to actually use, what sizes to develop them at, and how they'll be laid out in magazine. Whitman is credited (not in the mag credits but in one models spread text) as photographer in one HOM mag, and Blakemore is photo editor. Blakemore is also photo editor for HOM mags where Whitman style photos don't appear.

You can ask Whitman if he was photo editor for HOM magazines from 1981 to 88, doing the job described above (and in my longer posts elsewhere). I don't think Whitman did any of that stuff. I think he was the often uncredited photographer, rigger, and of course, cinematographer of 8mm loops and video...and possibly he also edited the films and videos (don't know this last part for sure, just guessing). Even you said, correct me if I'm wrong, that he shot the photo sessions (or directed them anyway, hard to take photos himself when he's also in the shot) and then gave the film to Barbara Behr and she took it from there.

So basically I'm saying Whitman/Cole are the HOM/Calstar given aliases for the man you're in contact with, and Blakemore is a mistaken alias HOM mag readers gave him from misunderstanding the photo editor credit. Of course, whether you're really in contact with Whitman is not totally proven yet. I believe that you believe it's him. I believe it's NOT a marketing stunt. But we've had fake Whitmans crop up before, as well as a fake Georgia V.H. Plus reports from pretty reliable people (like Rick and RR) who have reported he passed away. Frankly, I hope it's him. I'm a big fan.

Stylewise, I think a lot of your photos are really good. Granted, I've only seen samples so far, but what you could use more of is model-handling. Squeezing breasts hard like Whitman did (when they're natural, I know this is medically questionable to do with implants), A couple hands down there exploring her pussy roughly, heck, invite an assistant over to join in (four hands). You have a lot of crotchrope shots, but only one (I saw, with Wenona) where your hand is pulling on the rope (you should do more of that, or show more of that). Yep, get your hands all over those model's bodies, don't let the ropes have all the fun! And I agree with Whitman on story. Ralphus, I understand your concerns and you have voiced nothing new that I have not already thought myself. After hours of speaking to this guy on the phone I am 100% sure that he is Blakemore/Whitman/our man Friday. The venture this spring have a shooting budget of almost thirty thousand dollars. That is too much money to put out there if he were some type of crackpot. I have several pieces of his original artwork and two separate devices that he has given me. I can well understand peoples doubts, and truth be told I respect people's for being guarded. However, I am not at liberty to say totally why he had to complete drop off from public view. His return will be limited and people must keep in mind that its been twenty years since he has been seen on camera.

He did speak about Barbara Behr, they kept in contact until around 9/11 then lost sight of each other and have not been back since. Blakemore/Whitman did get a film degree in the early 70's. He started off making covers for a Canadian company who made detective magazines. He also did the shooting and rigging for H.O.M. in mags and loops from around 1974 to about 1987. He never cared about credits or names, his only really agenda was tying up hot bitches and having his way with them. Scribbler's statement of the name Blakemore appears in mags that were not Blakemore style bondage leads me to believe that I like many others may very well have misidentified his stage name. I know for a fact the guys whom I have become friends with has little if any interest in any kind of bondage other then his own. Scribbler if you have the names of these mags I should like very much to check it out. This may piss some of you off but upon his release, he may very well stay with the name Blakemore. But I can't speak for the guy.

I suppose if I were Scribbler and I knew "Blakemore" was a completely different guy, it would bug the hell out of me going forward deliberately and knowingly using the wrong name, and I probably would not. When you are an expert in a field of knowledge or expertise, you pride yourself on that expertise. Perpetuating a lie or misdirection eats away at your self-respect and of course at some point in the future if (or when) the truth comes out, it might call your actual expertise into question that you knowingly lied about it (or just got it wrong).

It is a conundrum.

Part of me bristles at intentional deception, but a larger part of me supports privacy and anonymity. Both of those parts are kind of anxious to see this joint project he and Sgt Major are working on, though. It would just be so much easier for someone writing The Definitive History of BDSM in the Latter Half of the Twentieth Century if he used one of the aliases that was his instead of some other guy. But that's just me and my obsessive-compulsive take on things.

I like well done movies with good editing, and fx, but not gimmicky editing fx that draw attention to themselves ("look, I'm a cool editing fx easy to do now cause of final cut pro or adobe premiere") and away from the gimp content. Content is king. To put it another way, I like wack-off porn to be pretty basic. Well paced, good editing, sure, but like good soundtracks, it should enhance the production yet draw no attention to itself.

That's my review. I don't want to take the free offer away from other gimpers, so the next three can get it and review the actual video!

And if Steve's now going for the superimposed double image, that's even worse. All that does it draw attention toward the technique and away from the action onscreen. There's a reason why actual movies aren't made that way. When was the last time you saw a film with split screen action? Maybe some of DePalma's early horror films from the 1970s, but even he realized what a cheesy gimmick that was and dropped it in his later work.

Bottom line: if you've got attractive performers and solid action onscreen, you don't need fancy camera angles or editing tricks. All they do is distract, not enhance. We don't want to see you direct, we want to see her suffer.

I have actually been waiting for the Powershotz clips that preceded and followed this one, since they involve anal and vaginal penetration and stimulation and Heather Silk is very expressive. So it isn't that much of a stretch to review this clip first. It kind of builds up my anticipation for the other two.

Heather Silk... Hosed (Powershotz video clip, 2008)

This 19-plus minute Powershotz video clip begins with Heather Silk in leather ankle and wrist restraints and fully clothed in a short plaid skirt and light blue silk or satin blouse. She is fastened AOH with her arms pulled high enough to reveal her belly between blouse and skirt (always a nice touch), but the spreader bar between her ankles is barely shoulder-width in length, with a lot of play between the bar and the ankle restraints, so her feet aren't forced very wide apart. Humphf.

Split screen begins very quickly, with a close-up view of Heather's body and a full-length view of the Masked Man walking up to abuse her. He steps behind her and gropes her, all the while Heather looking and acting the victim. When he pulls up her skirt we see Heather is wearing hose. The skirt comes off and the hose come down to mid-thigh. Between-the-leg groping and spanking ensue briefly before the hose come back up (!?).

There's some face slapping and finger-gagging and some close-ups of Heather pleading. More groping. Then Heather gets spanked with what looks like a wooden ruler for a while in bra and hose. At the 11-minute mark the bra comes off and nipple clamps go on. Well, okay, one nipple clamp before Heather calls out and we do a quick cut and suddenly a different set of nipple clamps are going on. Heather weathers these clamps a little better, although there is something to be said for using the uncomfortable ones. Heh.

Split-screen spanking. The hose come down to mid-thigh midway through the spanking session. The dissolve effect occurs at the height of the spanking when Heather's face shows the most expression, and it is kind of annoying. A split screen would have been more effective to my way of thinking, because I like to savor expressions of pain or discomfort and the dissolve effect was distracting.

The best reaction comes when the (remaining) nipple clamp is removed. Heather's nipples apparently are very sensitive. However, the fade effect shows back up again as her sensitive breasts and nipples are fondled and groped and her look of discomfort is diminished by the dissolve special visual effect. Grr.

There is some wooden ruler between the legs teasing. The clip ends with Heather doing some posing (still in AOH bondage with the spreader bar). Her ass is very red. And when she stretches her feet apart, they are quite far apart. There is a lot of play in that spreader bar. Fade out as Heather pleads to be released.

Heather Silk is quite attractive. She has a very nice body, with a lot of luscious curves. I especially like her breasts, but I am not even going to try to explain why. They just work for me.

If I'm going into full GIMP mode here, I will note that using the first set of nipple clamps would have been more satisfying to me as a GIMP viewer, although I guess there's only so much pain Heather was willing to bear for her art. Heather's reactions during spanking were nice, but I didn't sense a lot of pain. Heather is one of the more expressive Powershotz models, but at no time during this clip did I think she was effectively acting threatened or in pain.

I love the split screen, especially when it shows the close-up action in one screen and the facial expression or body reaction in the other. I hate the dissolve. It is annoying and distracting. I have found it annoying and distracting every time it has been used. If it was never used again I don't think I would mind one iota.

So, nice AOH the entire time. The hose could have come off, but still Heather was almost fully naked most of the time. No gags, but some hand gagging. Wooden ruler spanking that made loud satisfying whacking noises. Very red ass cheeks at the end. But Heather didn't look like she was in all that much pain. As a GIMP feature, I would rate this a solid C.

This is pretty standard Powershotz material. The production quality is good. For the most part, the camerawork is good but there is some jiggling and poor framing. The editing fx (split-screen, etc.) are a matter of personal taste. While others seem to differ, I like the fx because they allow the viewer to see the action and her close-up reaction simultaneously.

The scene features the very cute Heather Silk dressed in a blouse, skirt, pantyhose, and heels. She is standing in AOH bondage with a spreaderbar between her ankles. She is not gagged at all in this scene. Steve subjects her to much fondling, manhandling, and verbal intimidation. Heather and Steve try to do some ad lib dialog together. She says she's scared. Steve progressively undresses her to reveal the interesting parts of her body. She endures a clover clamp on her right nipple for about 30 seconds and then bails out because it's too intense. (Where's her professionalism?) Then she tries tweezer clamps on both nipples for a few minutes--without evidence of lactation as indicated in the advertisement.

She is paddled on the butt off and on through the scene with a ruler or paint-stirrer. She does react rather intensely to this stinging punishment with spirited wiggling and complaining. After her treatment, there is more dialog. She promises to be good. Steve leaves her alone. She begs him to come back to untied her because her pussy is wet.

Yawn...

The whole Cole/Whitman/Blakemore thing is interesting. Whoever he was/is, he made some of the best BDSM movies ever.

BTW, for those trying to duplicate the "look" of those classics, have you tried using similar equipment? Video and film do give a different look.

With regards the model.....this is a gal that hasn't done anything near this bizarre in her previous modeling work. Getting her to even do the scene was a push. The large wood paint stirrer stings like crazy...even when you watch and it looks like she isn't getting hit hard. She was lactating....there's a drop from her left nipple..... but again only clearly visible at dvd resolution. This scene was shot as a custom request. The movement of the hose up and down and the length of the spreader bar....her outfit....were determined by the customer that funded the shoot. You can obviously put me in the pro-split screen camp. (Sorry, Ralphus and Scribbler.) I also like seeing the facial expression as well as the activity that elicits the facial expression. I'm a face man as well. Sometimes the camera strays and the action is just above or below the window, which is frustrating and annoying, but all in all I like it. However, that overlay effect I will never like. So I'm one for two.

At first, Heather doesn't look that great to me tied up AOH with a quasi-school girl outfit, but as Steve strips her, we're treated to a nice body. Heather's facial expressions, writhing and groans are pretty good as she gets fondled (breasts and privates), hang-gagged, and dry-humped throughout, IMO, but I'm not a fan of her high-pitched yelps common throughout the clip.

After about 4 minutes, Heather's skirt comes off and we see the titled Hose. I think Heather looks amazing when the hose are pulled down to show her great ass, but "hose up" is kind of a buzzkill for me. At about 6 minutes we get the trademark Powershotz face close-up where Steve gives Heather some soft slaps and puts his finger in her mouth, but that doesn't do much for me. The ass spanking with the ruler while Heather's back is arched is good since it shows her great curves, but too much of it occurs when Heather still has her bra on.

At the 10.5 minute halfway mark, Steve finally takes Heather's top off, and her breasts look good, especially AOH with her back arched. The much-heralded but short nipple clamping is good, with Heather's body and facial expression looking great before the cutaway to the JV (tamer) clamps. The rest of the clip involves ruler spanking and straddling as well as topless groping and dry humping.

Overall, hot girl, great facial expressions, good groping/fondling, but the spanking and the face "pushing" (not slapping really) is fairly tame. Some hairpulling would be nice and, for me, the titled Hose and long wait for boobs was buzzkill. I agree with others that the split-screen and fade shots were overdone also.

Well, not necessarily. Could be an issue with a dialog scene, but if it's just spanking and yells, you could edit in BOTH shots without split screen, you would basically be elongating the scene. But that gets back to spending more time at the editing bay. At any rate, I doubt split screen will stop many people from buying. Just me and Ralphus :)

As far as the face thing, isn't there face in both shots of the split? I like face, but I don't need it all the time. Guess it's not a fetish for me. If there's a medium shot of tits and hips, I'm not missing the face for those 5 to 10 seconds. Doesn't blow it for me. I can't think of a bondage video where I thought there was an abnormal lack of showing facial expressions. Maybe I haven't seen enough videos.

This clip has certainly dominated the forum over the last couple of days. It's also interesting that some of you seem to actually like the split screen effect. Hey, I like facial expressions, too. I would much rather look at a girl's face than close ups of her ass or her pussy. But it still doesn't mean I want half of my screen to be blocked off just because the director is too wimpy to choose which shot goes into the final product. Giving us both angles at the same time does not make the product twice as good. Frankly, it makes it half as good.

You want to show a dildo being shoved into a girl's ass, show the dildo entering, then cut back to her pained expression. It's the way movies are made. It's the art of editing. You should try it sometime. It might actually make your movies better, more dramatic.

But what the heck, you can do what you want. They're your movies, and you obviously make them for yourself. What's disappointing for me is that nearly every Powershotz film I've seen has failed to live up to its promise, and yet you're so close sometimes to doing it right. This clip is a good example. You got a C, a B-, a C+ and a yawn. You should be getting A's. Hey, I know it's not easy, but if I had the girls you were working with, I guarantee I could do better. It's all just a matter of creating the right mood, the right attitude and getting the most out of your performers. And then putting it together in the editing room is the final step. I'm rooting for you.

Some people really love the split screen.....others really dislike it.....no clear consensus but folks on both sides taking strong stands. In the future you will be allowed to choose which view to watch. Need a new mpg formet and decoder to pull it off.

On a different topic...

Has anyone here ever seen Mood-Picture.com or ElitePain.com productions? From their video trailers, they look very intense and well producted. They are, however, rather expensive -- typically 50 EUR (about 70 USD) for a 60-minute movie. Also, they are not in English, although they do have English subtitles. They'd have to be pretty special before I'd spend that kind of money on one. I'd be intersted to hear if anyone has comments about whether these productions are worth the price.

To help you promote the film, I'm running some stills that Hank Hobbs made as the daily picture for the next week and a half. I also posted the original movie trailer on YouTied (click on my Homepage URL). When I saw the trailer the first time, I knew this was going to be a movie I would like. It's amazing that a student film actually pulled off GIMP-worthy elements better than nearly every big budget Hollywood film that's out there.

Well, let me say just a few things about that.

To begin with, I'm looking forward to seeing the content description for Shark 221. This was one of the first Attackers movies I ever saw and I have to admit I didn't really get what it was about. The star, Rion Morishita, is attractive enough, although I much preferred her work in the now-legendary Slave Island 11.

I'm also looking forward to the write-up for Shark Special 9. The cover art is certainly interesting.

Finally, I noticed this film. I can't speak to its merits but it does star the great Nana Nanami, who gave wonderful performances in Slave Island 5 and Slave Island 8.

Ralphus: I will hereby submit an official review-

"SANTIAGO PRISON" from Mood-Pictures. There is a storyline in which the warden has learned of an escape plot and conducts an interrogation to root out its planners. One prisoner is chained naked and left alone in a cell. She is bitten by a snake that has crawled into the cell and later found dead. Another inmate receives a nasty lashing across her back with a single-tail tawse. The screaming is real and quite intense. The inmates are then stripped and lined up to witness as they are questioned one at a time. As each is bent over an apparatus, a severe caning follows. The victims are made to count out each stroke and failure to count means a repeat.

MOVIE PLUSES: The picture quality of these videos is excellent and the camerawork is well done. The camera lingers on whole scene, rump, and facial shots and I found none of the common editing frustrations. Most of the women are nice looking. Although it may not be for everyone, I personally like the violent intensity of these films. I don't mind the foreign language. In this type of subject, I think it actually adds something to the storyline. The wounds and screams are quite real. A disclaimer segment is included to show that it was consensual (of course there is always the possibility that the disclaimers were coerced).

MOVIE MINUSES: These films are too short for the price as they come in at a disappointing 46 minutes. The victims (although bound) are not bound tight enough-IMHO. In conclusion, I can't bring myself to pay 50 Euros and up for anything that I've seen offered. I must say, however, that I do like these videos a lot and they are still high on my playlist. With this in mind, and the fact that the pluses outweigh the minuses, I will give this film a solid B+.

jhlipton: A movie doesn't necessarily have to visually prove that the girl does indeed have 2 nipples and a pussy to be GIMP-worthy. I love seeing girls stripped or with their clothing hanging off them, but it doesn't mean a film that doesn't show actual skin is worthless, at least not in my book. weewilly: I've only seen one movie from Mood Pictures. Based on Bruno's review, I ordered Martial Law a few years ago, and loved it.
