Today's offering is another Nikkatsu pinku film, "Female Teacher in Rope Hell". Released in 1981. Starring Junko Mabuki, directed by Shogoro Nishimura and written by Oniroku Dan. Run time is 70 minutes. Again, an online trade but available at the above link.

So this male and female teacher work at this school and they are an item. A young female student is sitting outside and gets jumped by a wino who grabs her in the bushes and starts to shred her apparel. Her screams brings the lady teacher who stops the event. While the student escapes the wino slaps the teacher around, gags her and binds her wrists behind. Student runs into the school and finds the male teacher. They go to the scene but find no one. Wino has carted the lady into the auditorium where he lifts her onto the stage apron and begins fondling. She urinates and he wipes it up in his hands and smears her body with it. As he begins a rape the man and student arrive and get a view through a window. The man puts his hand over the students mouth and won't allow her to go in. They simply watch as the rape progresses. The bench is fitted with a crank device that raises and lowers a metal rod up her pussy. The student is watching this on a monitor bound on a chair wrists behind, waist strapped, ankles crossed and tied wearing a whiffle ball gag.

Later that night he has teacher AOH and puts a corset on her. It has leather tabs front and back for "snap on dildos". He makes the proper adjustments and insertions. I rather suspect the arson investigator had quite a time figuring this one out. The End

Movie Pluses - this is almost constant bondage/rape/torment/torture/humiliation from start to finish. All very well done. Good plotline, excellent acting and rather mean spirited, just the way I like it.

Movie Minuses - no biggie but wish the student had been hotter - well, she was at the end. If only he had escaped - now that would be a happy ending.

The Verdict - the best pinku I have viewed and that's quite a number.

Anyone who has ever seen one of I Energy's drug agent movies knows what to expect, as the story is pretty much always the same. An attractive female narcotics agent who has been busting crime rings is captured by the criminals, and then shot up with drugs and raped.

In this outing, sexy Iijima Natsuki is the agent, and she is a wonder to behold. Iijima has an exceptionally beautiful face, a nice body with really great legs, and huge breasts. To be honest, when I saw the cover art for this film, I thought her boobs might be man-made, but those gigantic jugs are real ("and they're spectacular," as Teri Hatcher would say).

Unfortunately, Iijima's beauty is wasted in this movie. Maybe the I Energy folks have told this same story too many times, but in this one it feels like everyone is just going through the motions. It's all very disappointing.

The story is quite straightforward. Iijima, looking super fine in a sexy black power suit with a short skirt and black nylons, chases down drug dealers on the streets and arrests them. But one night when she is at home, asleep in her bed, two criminals sneak into her bedroom and abduct her. As one villain holds Iijima down on the bed, with her arms pinned above her head, the other criminal chokes Iijima, and then peels off her black nightie so he can fondle and then suck on Iijima's huge boobs. The two villains take turns raping Iijima on the bed in positions like missionary, doggie, and cowgirl (a "rape" in the cowgirl position is about as believable as it sounds), and although Iijima squeals and struggles a bit, the rapes generally look staged and phony. Each villain finishes by cumming in Iijima's pussy.

One guy uses a large needle to inject a date-rape-type drug into Iijima, and as a doped Iijima puts up only weak resistance, the villain rapes her once more in the missionary position, finishing with another cum shot inside her.

The movie cuts to a new scene, where Iijima is fully dressed (??) in a white blouse, black skirt, and black nylons, and she is trapped inside a small glass cage, which is presumably somewhere inside the villains' hideout. A knockout gas is sprayed into the cage, causing Iijima to pass out.

Up next, Iijima is seen tied to a steel gate door, with thick orange ropes binding her arms and legs to the gate. Iiijima is still wearing the white blouse, the black skirt and the nylons. Three villains show up and one of them injects the "love drug" into Iijima. The villains then rip open Iijima's clothes to expose her breasts and her white panties, and proceed to rub large, microphone-shaped vibrators against her tits and panties. Soon, they have two vibrators massaging each one of Iijima's tits, and four vibrators rubbing against the pussy area of her panties, causing the bound and helpless Iijima to writhe and squeal. This scene had potential, but the villains never removed Iijima's panties, so her squealing seems a bit over the top.

More rape scenes follow. They start with the still-drugged Iijima lying on the floor, still wearing her blouse, skirt, and the nylons, which remain ripped open at the crotch area. The three villains arrive, inject another love needle into Iijima, and then open her blouse and remove her panties. As one guy holds Iijima down, another villain sucks and bites Iijima's big left boob, and then fingers and sucks her pussy. The villains strip off Iijima's clothes (except for the skirt, which still hangs around her waist). Two of the villains grab Iijima's arms and legs and hoist her into the air in a seated position, and a third guy finger fucks her, making Iijima squeal and shriek.

Iijima is moved into a kneeling position on the floor and the lead villain stands in front of her, running his dick between her big boobs. The kneeling Iijima is then forced to blow the guy. Beautiful Iijima actually looks quite sexy doing the forced blowjob thing. Unfortunately, after a few minutes of sucking, Iijima is moved into a doggie position, sucking the lead villain while another guy fucks her, in an obviously staged scene. The villains proceed to fuck Iijima in missionary and doggie positions, and Iijima occasionally gives blowjobs and hand jobs to the other villains as she gets tapped. Sadly, it all looks very vanilla.

In one of the movie's better scenes, the villains hold naked Iijima down on her back on the floor, and a guy shows up with a large green dildo attached to a buzzing power drill. The "dildo drill" is pushed into Iijima's pussy, and Iijima shrieks and shudders as the dildo drill makes her climax. Iijima's squeals aren't entirely convincing, but this scene is still pretty effective.

In the final scene, Iijima is naked inside a dog cage, and the love drug has turned her into a total sex slave -- she rattles the cage bars, apparently begging for sex. One of the villains lets Iijima out of the cage, and Iijima sucks him, and then gets fucked missionary style while another guy watches. The movie ends with Iijima on her back, getting fucked, panting softly and with a look of total bliss on her lovely face.

My grade: C.

Beautiful Iijima Natsuki deserves better. This is one of those movies where the star is so attractive, you keep watching, hoping it will get better -- but it never does. Instead, Drug Agent in Tripping State is flat and lifeless. As drug agent trips go, it's a downer.

As usual, your latest review was once again one I've seen, but here's a twist...I completely agree with you on this one! Female Teacher in Rope Hell is one of my favorite Nikkatsu titles, too. It was recommended to me by Larry at Video Mayhem many, many moons ago, and I took his suggestion and was very pleased that I did. Back then, he had it listed under the odd title "Collector's Private Sessions" which was probably the only English spelling he could find on the box, but I knew all along it had to be the wrong title. Anyway, this isn't even the first review we've had of it on this forum; our old friend Iago wrote a capsule review of it years ago (in the Reviews section) but yours is much more thorough. I also have a shitload of really nice stills from that movie that I might run at the top of the site soon if there's any interest.

A Canadian: As demonstrated by your review, it's obvious that there are some duds in the Japanese industry. They can't all be great. And what you astutely pointed out is another one of my pet peeves: rape scenes that look like consensual sex. As Elkcreek pointed out in his excellent list of suggestions to producers (scroll down to January 23rd), "Women who are being raped NEVER go on top without serious restraints".

Come on, guys! If we wanted to see straight sex, we could always rent a vanilla porno. We want to see rape, so hold her down, tie her down and let's see some protests, screaming and tears. Anyway, on to better things. I was struck by one of the posts below about sameness. It seems like that is a major challenge for any artist, including porn producers. One reason I like Rick's ZFX flix so much is because he varies his settings. One flik might take place in a motel room, but then the next one might be in a room in his warehouse, and then the next one in a house, and then the next one in a different room in his warehouse, and then the next one in Lickety Splits ... you get the idea.

Now, I like Dan Hawke films. The man has some obvious talent, and he often finds pretty girls. But his films too often for my tastes have a similar feel as to setting. It's filmed in the same room in the same warehouse from the same camera position, and the only thing that varies is the girl. That bugs me. When I rent one of his fliks I find myself hoping for a knockout gorgeous girl that will keep my attention, because otherwise I get distracted from the girl and start noticing the sameness of the setting again.

To be honest, I don't mind the fact the Japanese producers like to tell many of the same stories over and over -- the drug agent story, the teacher who is blackmailed into stripping and getting fucked, etc. -- if they do it right. Certainly, when I watched the episodes of last year's Slave Island series, the consistent use of the same setting wasn't a problem. Of the Slave Island films I saw, it was one of the last ones in the series, Slave Island 11, that was my favorite (and also my favorite film of the year).

In my review yesterday of Drug Agent in Tripping State, I mentioned the sameness issue, but my real point was the storytelling in this particular series had become routine and uninspired. I think that has more to do with the laziness of the producers than issues around the setting.

So this is a more "technical" question - somewhat in the spirit of admiring the work that DarkRoom is doing - but what's the best equipment to use if one intends to do some video shoots?

I have in mind both video and still photo equipment..

A typical movie setup, as a studio-looking location, doesn't do it for me. Outdoor settings, home settings, and any other location that is realistic does do it for me. I guess it's all about the possibility to imagine that it could happen to me (as the doer, of course), and the dungeon setting doesn't make the realism tick for me.

I can widen it to all sorts of locations that are believable to be realistic, as in the book of "The Girl Next Door". On the other hand, I exclude all settings that are to clearly staged to feel real.

The same goes for clothing, obviously. When a lady is tied up in street clothes (or nothing), that is erotic, but plots with ladies in garter belts or leather doesn't do it.

So, zee-ef-ex, the location (and the clothes that goes with it) is extremely important!

The same is true with the ladies. Their appearance needs to match her role. I'm not into garters, tats, smoothies, etc. I can tolerate these decorations if (again) we are in a "lifestyle" setting but it drives me nuts to see something like the an innocent housewife next-door stripped to reveal such trimmings.

As for a storyline, I don't really need one. I can go either way. Naturally, if there is a story, it should be minimized. Run-time is valuable.

Don't get me wrong, it's a powerful movie -- too powerful, in fact. I found the movie much too intense, and too depressing, to be able to enjoy it as a pervert. I found myself feeling sorry for Meg, the girl being tortured, rather than feeling aroused. The actress playing Meg, Blythe Auffarth, gave an amazing performance, as did all the actors in the film.

Yeah, I know, perhaps I need to "grow some fucking balls," as one of our friends here would say. But that's my honest assessment of the film. I have no problems recommending The Girl Next Door as a movie, but I think anyone looking for quality GIMP entertainment won't find it.

Well, we still have a shot. An American Crime, based on the actual true-life story that GND was written about, will open sometime this year. The bottom line is someone died due to the carelessness of someone else. That person is gone and there is nothing else we can you for him/her. Conversely, the other person has to wake up everyday knowing that someone they loved is dead due to his/her actions. They truly deserve our sympathy. I think that's what Ralphus was trying to say.

jyydubs: An American Crime: is based on the true life story of the Sylvia Likens case (link above), which inspired Jack Ketchum to write "The Girl Next Door". I've mentioned this before, but one of the reasons I was attracted to ZFX films in the first place was because they used real settings...someone's own living room, bedroom, etc. I don't own a dungeon, but I could imagine tying up some chick in my own home and doing things to her. I hadn't seen many bondage films before I started watching ZFX, but most of the other ones I had seen (mostly from B&D Pleasures) usually incorporated some phony-looking dungeon that seemed artificial. Most of Rick's early titles were probably shot in his own house, with handheld camerawork that made it seem almost like someone was actually there filming a girl's attack. They seemed real, and that gave it an air of authenticity to me.

Even the stuff that Rick shoots in the warehouse seems real, with wooden crates laying around, unfinished walls and hard cement floors...it has the dank look of the type of setting that a bondage freak would probably set up in his own garage. They may be fantasies, but I have to believe what I'm seeing is actually happening to make it work for me.

I have to say, the response to this latest poll has been rather weak so far. No one else have an opinion?

I wasn't a big fan of the Art of Darkness movies (all-girl bondage doesn't usually work for me) but at least Rick combined the two of them together to make it more worthwhile. If you're interested, Lisa Kinkaid plays a dom in those (wouldn't have been my choice...I prefer her as the Tie-EE rather than the Tie-ER).

The proper setting can make a good bondage film better - alas, a bad setting can make a good bondage film worse and a mediocre one unwatchable. One of the few things I find appealing about InquisitionLive stuff is their sets. The costumes and seedy settings give a realistic feel to the dungeon atmosphere. Contrast that with some effort where the "dungeon" is a sterile, hospital like, white walled, carpet floored meeting room at the local Holiday Inn. Even in alternate settings it creates a degree of realism. EWPROD's "Deadly Laundry" for example, with all the clutter and machinery around. Added greatly to the overall production, IMHO.

The grimey sets used on ZFX's best stuff, "South of the Border" series for example, sold the overall premise of the film just as "Bloodsucking Freaks" had to be shot in the sleazy setting it was.

Ralphus - oh yeah, keep those stills coming - can't wait for the double suspension waxing and tapping scene if you have them.

While we're on the topic of academia, let me share my thoughts on a documentary I saw on the Japanese education system:

ATTACKERS JB-073

I guess if there are lessons to be learned from JB-073, they are: "Study hard in school" and "Do not watch this movie on a full stomach."

The film starts off with a guy alone in his apartment with a half-empty bottle of whisky, smacking a ruler against a table and in deep thought with glimpses of a naked chick with a tight black hood being whipped. Sounds a lot like some of my nights.

It turns out the guy is a teacher, and in his class the next day, he's whacking the same ruler on his desk. He has one student in his class, the rather cute Haruna Harada, and she's struggling with her studies. The teacher has a psychotic look in his eyes.

When he walks home, he picks up a filthy rag from the street and has visions of Haruna in his class. He then throws down the rag and stomps on it to show that he's clearly nuts. Haruna, meanwhile, studies at home.

But the next day, as the teacher wipes his desk with that rag, Haruna still doesn't seem to get it. The teacher angrily tears up her assignment and says she's not studying enough. She sobs on her way home.

It seems that staring at eggs also brings Haruna into the teacher's thoughts, and he sees himself throwing eggs at his student.

Back at school, the teacher is doing some angry mopping and dreaming of dunking Haruna's head in a bucket of water. He checks her work, tosses it back at her and then orders her out of the room. Then he starts fondling her seat ... the seat of her chair that is. As he caresses the warm areas on the chair where Haruna sat, another male teacher catches him in the act and calls him a pervert. He says the perverted teacher obviously has the hots for Haruna, and mentions that this sort of problem occurred at his previous school. The do-gooder teacher says the sick bastard shouldn't be allowed to teach.

He may have a point, but the pervert obviously disagrees, and he shows his difference of opinion by beating the do-gooder senseless. (Never get in the way between a man and his chair.)

The next day, Haruna is writing away in the class in her school uniform. The perverted teacher comes up behind her, takes out a black hood and wraps it over her head. She puts up a better fight than the do-gooder teacher, but she's subdued with a rather unrealistic belly punch and dragged out.

Haruna, still in her uniform and hood, is chained to a red cross in a dungeon basement, while the do-gooder teacher is unconscious in front of her. The perverted teacher is talking to two guys, including Randa Mai. The teacher seems intimidated by them and signs a contract for their help. He gives them a letter of his requests, which draws laughs from Randa. I'm not exactly sure what the contract is for, but my hunch is Randa is being hired to literally whip the student into shape so she can pass the teacher's class and stop making him look bad at his profession. Oh, and the teacher can also fulfill his "sick" fantasies.

Haruna is tied AOH with rope, still in the hood and uniform, (skirt, socks, shoes, blouse, jacket) and unconscious. The teacher asks Randa to cut off her clothes with scissors. Randa laughs at the teacher (fucking amateur), and takes out a bullwhip to show how it's done. Haruna is brought to by the whipping. Slowly but surely, the back of her jacket and skirt are in tatters. The teacher is loving it. Randa rips the back of her clothes some more with his hands and the teacher helps out with his scissors. It takes the teacher awhile because he seems to want to make confetti out of her clothes, so Randa starts whipping her again. Although we can't see her face, Haruna's anguish is clear through her screams.

I guess the director also thought the teacher was taking way too long, so the scene fades out and fades in with Haruna now naked still AOH except the shoes, socks and hood. Randa whips her bare flesh and we get to see the welts in the making. Haruna's body isn't the sleekest, and her breasts are rather small, but she clearly doesn't like the old bullwhip against the nipples. Her whimpering seems to only encourage Randa to deliver more blows.

Randa pulls off her hood and whips her with a cat o nine tails. She screams and cries as he alternates between the cat and bullwhip. And as usual, Randa's whipping is intense and believable.

Randa drags the unconscious do-gooder over and forces a sobbing Haruna to stand over the do-gooder's face. They want her to piss on him, but she can't. Randa whips her and plays with her pussy, but she still can't do it. I have no idea how the guy stayed unconscious with all of Haruna's high-pitched squeals. She finally relaxes a bit and relieves herself. In a new definition for the term "rude awakening," the do-gooder comes to and the others force open his mouth so he's drinking her piss.

In our next scene, Haruna's chained upright on the red X-cross. She pleads for the teacher to help her, and she's pretty convincing. But soon, the yokes on her.

Out come the eggs.

The teacher, Randa and the henchman take turns firing eggs at her (the teacher is a southpaw.) Randa gags her with a red whiffle ball and the target practice continues. I'd say at least 2 dozen eggs are used. This was easily my favorite scene in the movie. Haruna struggles mightily to avoid the eggs and ends up a humiliated mess.

After they've cleaned her up off-screen, Randa and henchman tie up Haruna, who is on her knees, with rope in the usual Japanese style: ropes over and under breasts, arms tied in back. She's still pleading for the teacher to end this. Randa slaps her face a few times and tells her to scream, as if she needed encouragement.

Randa fastens a rope to the ceiling and to her arms, and slaps her tits. He wants her to blow the teacher, but she refuses. After Randa pulls out the dreaded bullwhip, she agrees.

Haruna, still on her knees, takes the standing teacher in deep and gags and sobs. While she's sucking him off, Randa drags the do-gooder in and makes him lie face up under all the action. Haruna's drool drips on the do-gooder's face, and then she eventually spits out a wad of cum on the guy below. They force her to lick up the spunk on the teacher's legs and she continues sucking him off. She ends up puking all over the poor slob below. To make matters worse for the do-gooder and the viewer, they make him eat her vomit.

Haruna continues sucking off the teacher. He cums again in her mouth but she doesn't swallow. Instead, she is forced to drip the cum into to poor slob's mouth. Randa picks up some of the mess and rubs it on Haruna's body.

Randa finally take off Haruna's socks and shoes, and ties her ankles together. He then hoists her up so she's suspended upside down. A bucket of water is placed under her head, and her screams are stopped only by dunking her in the bucket a few times. The scene ends with Haruna screeching even louder than before.

Back at the school, a new teacher has taken the place of the pervert. One month later, the new teacher is shown in class grinding his teeth and biting his nails in frustration. Haruna is in his after-school class, and she is still struggling with her studies.

The End.

Randa Mai is awesomely brutal, and the teacher is pretty good as the sadistic lunatic.

As far as the tortures go, it took a while to get to them, and some seemed to drag on a bit.

But my biggest problem with the movie is the role of the do-gooder. Not only was that cum-vomit scene revolting, but having him as another victim distracted attention away from the real star, Haruna. If the do-gooder had been a woman, it could have worked better.

So, if you are into messy tortures of sweet innocent schoolgirls, JB-073 might do it for you. As for this reviewer, I give it a B minus.

The do-gooder character sounds like an unnecessary distraction, and this business about Haruna puking on the do-gooder's face is just wrong. This is supposed to be a bondage movie, not The Exorcist.

I'm also not surprised by your comments about some scenes dragging on a bit. Unfortunately, that seems to be a common element in Randa Mai films.

I like the expository scenes, where it's pretty obvious the guy who fantasizing about Haruna is clearly twisted. Ironman: Wish I could help you more on the GIMP-related Yahoo groups. I think there is room to improve your descriptions of sex scenes. While you are quite comfortable writing about graphic sexuality, I generally found your sex scenes to be lewd, rather than erotic. My sense is you need to focus on writing fewer numbers of sex scenes, and then devoting your energy to creating more fulsome descriptions of those scenes -- what were the people feeling, what were their physical sensations, etc. You have some of that in your writing now, but I think there is room for more detail.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. I hope that is helpful.

A Canadian: Thanks for the great YouTube teaser of Jeff Gord on Sin Cities. Never heard of that show, but that clip was fascinating. Was there more on Gord than just those few minutes? BTW, how gorgeous is Ceci? She was the same one that we saw the pics from in the Christmas update (wrapped up like a Christmas tree). I'll tell you, Gord sure does get the beautiful women to come work with him. Quite an interesting artist, to say the least.

Good news: It's Maria Ozawa. She can wax my flagpole anytime. It's definitely an Attackers AV. Great overall scenes and the background looks good. Don't be fooled by the cover art though. The ninja section lasts about 40 min at the start of the AV. The second section is at the hideout of the big boss (great use of scenery here, nothing looks too fake). Bondage, a riding crop, among other things are used...except for one item that they REALLY needed to use. Hint: we recently had a poll regarding it.

Bad News: It's Maria Ozawa (her acting ability to be precise). I don't know how many scenes she can ruin just by overdoing it to the point of the viewer yelling "USE A GAG YOU IDIOTS!!!" at the guys on the screen. Major buzzkill when she's acting the same way when she's being stripped as when they're actually doing something to her.

Scene 1: The head bad guys discuss how they have to capture Maria and have their nearest lackey do the job. She fights some ninja guys and is captured. The ninja bad guys' leader needs shibari lessons or should pay more attention in ninja school. She's helpless on the mat, hands shackled/tied to the bamboo above her head (see back cover) while he has his way with her. Stripped, fondled, humiliated, etc. Then the ninja bad guy decides to untie her when he decides to use her. Ooookay...bad idea. The camera goes black and white except for Maria's eyes which turn bright blue. Ninja guy looks into them starts spitting up blood and keels over, fade to black. The end of the scene shows the big boss' other lackeys discover the ninja numbnut's corpse on the mat, fade to black again, scene 2.

Maria goes to the doctor's office to have a blood test. Bad move, the hospital doc is another lackey. She wakes up sitting in a chair (NOT TIED TO IT) while yet another bad guy tells her what he plans to do with her, blah blah, usual bad guy gloating. It's a dusty basement they're in. He forces her back into a room with a bed. She tries to fight him off but he punches her in the gut and she spits up what looks like the stuff she swallowed earlier from the ninja bad guy in scene 1. She ends up on the floor where the bad guy kicks her some more in the stomach (note the fake sounding kicks). He picks her up and drops her on the bed (more of the patented bad Maria Ozawa overacting here), and proceeds to fondle and strip her with a tanto knife and his bare hands. He strips her almost completely naked and does some nice ass-slapping for effect. He gets behind her and forces her to lick the knife (knife looks real enough).

More knifeplay as he forces her to stick out her tongue and he runs the blade over it like he's going to cut it off (her acting improves here...or maybe she isn't acting scared). More fondling (mind you, she's untied). He ends up doing her in different positions...including reverse cowgirl (oh yeah, really believable). He finishes on her face, scene goes black and white again, her eyes turn blue, he spits up blood and ends up on top of her as she also passes out from the "strain". The big boss and his top lieutenant enter and they decide to move Maria yet again, fade to black, scene 3.

Scene 3: She's sweaty and naked except for high heels, her hands shackled above her head as the boss uses a riding crop on her butt (acting improves here again) and then fondles her, fade to black. The scene opens again with Maria bound on a lit table, arms behind her back, her left leg tied to her left thigh, shibari style. She's wearing a gas mask (guess the bad guys learned about the whole eye thing). The boss enters, fondles her for a bit before injecting her with a knockout drug. Fade to black. The scene opens again with Maria in a gray straightjacket sitting on a couch, the boss and lackeys surrounding her. Lots of fondling and vibrator play before she's untied and done on the big Persian rug on the floor. She appears to be drugged so it's a little more believable than the two previous scenes. At the end, the scene goes black and white, eyes turning blue blah blah and...fade to black. The last scene has her dressed and staggering away on an old bridge. She's grabbing her stomach as she slowly staggers along as the credits roll. End.

The only thing I can really say is that if Maria Ozawa didn't overact her scenes it would have been better. Also, if the bad guys actually kept her tied up, things might have gone smoother and been more believable. Scenery looked great, bad guys acted more or less believable. Overall grade: B-......she needs to learn to act better and maybe keep us interested in the scene without having us wince every time she squeaks out a high pitched "Ie!" "Yada!".

I also don't care much for the non-stop, high-pitched ie (no), yada (no! no!), yamete (stop!) and ittai (it hurts) in some Japanese films. A gag can fix that annoyance as well. Let's hope lovely Maria does better next time.

Re the U-Tube Sin Cities clip with Ceci; posted by Canadian.

Sore point. It is almost two years since we did that scene for Sin Cities, and we have yet to receive the promised CD of the show. All we have seen is low res clips of parts of it that other people told us were out there on U-Tube etc.

Ha! Even my daughter and her whole village saw it back in UK. Apparently she has been getting a lot of strange looks since then because they all recognised me from the wedding.

There was a lot more to the feature by all accounts, that would include both Lydia and Ceci converted into furniture and Ashley and myself doing an interview whilst sitting at a female constructed bar. There was Ceci flying around on the front of the truck, and other stuff. From what I have seen it is one to the best edited and non freak-show style narrated features I have seen done by the media.

As it happens I was emailing Ashley Hames yet again this week end after he pronmised to get us a copy months ago. He has been going after the production company and Kat Hoskins, and still no luck.

The moral of the story folks, is that media will fuck you over every time to get what they want, and once they get that you can go fuck yourself. Often it is not the crew who you met, or even the show host etc. It is the production company they work for.

HBO is no exception. They cost us around $3000 with their promises some years back, they begged us to build special gear for them and run it all the way to Texas to do their show; - and then didn't use a single second of footage because there was no bare tits and ass for their "shock-horror, look at the weirdo's" thing they turned the program into. Deb Wasser the host of the feature had some serious fights with the editing crew over that one, but in the end she lost.

Whoever edited that crap had absolutely NO idea of the concept of Pony Girls. The clown even put in some black and white footage of two girls just crawling around on hands and knees in some sleazy fuck-n-suck video that had zilch to do with Ponies.

The best part about that was, HBO came back a year or so later asking me to loan them some of my antique collection for anther show on fucking machines.

Naturally, I told them to fuck-off. They said they understood and asked me if I knew anyone else who had such a collection. I said yes, and in fact you guys know him

They said who?

I said, He is the other guy you fucked over and wants nothing more to do with you. The guy who lives in New York. :-)

I based my grade on the Maria Ozawa AV in comparison to the other "Ryubaku" titles Attackers has available. The biggest problem I saw was that it focused too much on story plot and not enough on BDSM. Older Ryubaku or RBD titles had a minimal plot but loads of the stuff we like. This one had very little. Maria gets tied up and a riding crop is used on here twice throughout the whole AV. Once in the ninja scene and again at the big boss' mansion. Other RBD titles have at least 3-4 scenes.

Add to this her lackluster acting ability and you get the B-. Other actresses from Attackers were at least somewhat believable when they went through their scenes.

Go to javtalk.com to check out this cocktease of a movie. I was hoping for more. This was just a sad disappointment. Next time they decide to do an attackers AV with Maria Ozawa they should ask our resident Gimper Steve Power to do the bondage scenes. Maybe he could get her to improve her acting with a little "persuasion".

Now Isaac and I had an interesting (to me, anyway) conversation the other night about the "n" word and how Black folk use it as a term of endearment. But only Black folk can SAY the word!

When we lived in Detroit, we actually lived in a Black neighborhood and Isaac knew the dudes across the street fairly well. After a while, they discovered that Isaac shot porn. I guess they thought we were cool, too, for living in a Black neighborhood. Apparently, one of the guys across the street told Isaac, "Man, you're one nigger that has it going on!" Now I know there don't seem to be a lot of Black folk in the bondage industry, either, male OR female, but if there is a Black guy on this forum, I would appreciate his thoughts on if a white guy who was down with his homies could call his Black friend the "n" word as a greeting or something. :)

Also, maybe he or she could fill us in as to why there are so few Black men and women into bondage (that I know of). I mean, I went to BondCon once (yes, it was so long ago, it was the BondCon back then) and there was only one Black guy there! He actually won a free membership to my site in a drawing or something.

Until then I'll have to pick out scenes to appreciate and use my imagination to make up for the difference. Ironically, to date I haven't seen ANY flick that rates an A + IMHO. The best I've seen so far was Black Mask by GIGA, and while not all of their titles are great, I appreciate their emphasis on physical punishment, verses sexual punishment which invariably turns out in most flicks to be "she really wants it". I would love to check out some more of their titles like TBB-16 with Tachabana. The best mainstream flick I've seen so far was "Fair Game" with Cassandra Delaney.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying. There hasnt been a perfect movie to date which includes quality spy interrogation with whipping, electrical torture, and sexual molestation. Some movies have gotten bits and pieces of it right through:

*Relic Raider movies: #7 just came out; mostly stripping to bra and panties and bad simulated whipping/elec torture of a cute girl, but better stomach punching/punishment simulation

*Ringdivas-their RD films heroine torture movies focus on pretty good stomach punching/punishment simulation (with 1 good electro scene) of scantily clad hotties, but they have no dialogue or nudity which takes away from things

*ZFX-my favorite scenes which I think are at least somewhat interrogation are SOB 4 with Lisa Kinkaid, Reporter 1 with Monica Moore, and Voodoo Dolls 2 with Lisa Again. All have nudity and/or molestation though

*Mainstream-a pretty high-ranking one is Lana Clarkson in Barbarian Queen 1 (rack, nudity), but aside from that, my other close faves dont include nudity-Peta Wilson in La Femme Nikita, Sandahl Bergman in SHE, Vicky Pratt in Mutant X

Some nicheclip stores like gruntfilm are coming close to delivering something good, but they usually go the necro/bloody route which is not my thing.

A mainstream film that I am looking forward to is called "The Cook". Info has been scarce for sometime, but the plot sounded good to me. It is being released April 1st. Fango got some screen shots today (in my url above), second shot down looks pretty tasty!

As far as the Relic Raider stuff. I've got all of it except that ugly Wonder Women chicks stuff. For the most part they are poor. First, They have some of the wimpiest men torturers around. The second Relic Raider flick the guy doing the punching was about 4" shorter then Stacy and looked like he didn't weigh 140 lbs. Unless Stacy is a 6' Amazon (I doubt it) the torturer looked less then intimidating. I've seen this phenomenon in a couple of Japanese flicks too. With their new stuff they aren't offering DVD's, just downloads. A shame too, one of the new flicks looks decent.

Yeah I remember the Barbarian Queen stuff, especially part two. You can't find that stuff on DVD. Concrete Jungle was pretty good although the main character (a young extremely hot Tracy Bergman) doesn't get the most graphic stuff. Another mainstream flick to keep a watch for is Fingerprints. One of the stills has Kristin Cavallari (a hot petite little thing) tied AOH with bruises to a bloodied face. My two fantasy girls I'm waiting for in the mainstream are Natalie Portman (who isn't) and Rachel Bilson. Hot young spinners to say the least. Bilson's done nothing, Portman had a faux torture scene in V, and a OK scene in Goya's Ghost. Both were far too short.

There are two things that really turn me on about this (apart from the girl herself): firstly, her willingness to be roped, (including through her pussy), on national TV, and secondly, the fact that the girls in the audience are literally learning the ropes! Gotta love Japanese TV!

elkcreek - for Japanese WIP, check the movie review section on the "Criminal Women Report" series - may see something that floats your boat - keep in mind these are mainstream efforts so the torment is not relentless but the scenes are well done and convincing.

Ironman mentioned ADV 096 the other day. I cannot identify it any better than that. It is an Art Video effort and I obtained my copy at Video Mayhem. This is an archive item they still carry at the above link. No info on the principles involved but it runs 68 minutes. The show must go on.

A woman sits bound wrists behind at a table. The setting is a rural Japanese out building. She is being interrogated by two men clad in WWII era Japanese uniforms. She is knelt on a wooden palette on the floor and a villain begins some onscreen binding as she cowers. Once nicely restrained he leaves her to contemplate her situation.

She is now standing, being bound with arms outstretched to a bamboo pole, upper body and waist wrapped. He exposes her boobs and adds more cords forcing her upper body downward. Her ankles are tied together and legs hoisted high in the air. They ties her knees together and again leave her there.

She is now kneeling again on the palette, bound wrists behind and body wrapped. A villain pulls her legs out, crosses her ankles and ties them together, then presses her upper body downward and ropes ankles to neck in a crabtie. He ties the back of her hair to the rafters and gags her with a bamboo stick. After a few minutes he releases her hair and lays her on her back, running cords from ankles to rafters and pokes her tush with a bamboo cane. He administers lashes to that tush with same. As it goes on he increases the intensity. With a flayed bamboo stick he continues to tan her ass. By the conclusion she is nicely welted.

Next she is bound in a rather uncomfortable position on a table. Legs still crossed and underneath her, wrists behind and body wrapped, upper body bent far forward with her head over the table edge. She is held in place by many ropes in a fishnet pattern secured to the table. I can't imagine how they really kept her in this position. A villain uses the sheath of his katana to poke her palms and ass. Then they sit back and watch her suffer.

After rearranging her bonds we go to that uniquely Japanese torment of the damsel kneeling on wooden ridges as weights are applied to her lap. They carry her there, force her down and begin. As one villain ropes her to the rafters the other holds her head up with a bamboo pole. A flat rock is placed on her lap, then another. A villain pokes her nipples with a bamboo stick as another rock is added. Then another rock while her boobs are mauled. The rocks are removed and she is lifted up revealing the ridge impressions on her legs and feet.

Our lady is being retied wrists behind for another session. She is forced to mount a wooden pony, secured to the rafters as she tries to maintain balance with her feet on the pony slats. They force her feet off so she's well seated. She gets a bamboo rod gag and lashed with flayed bamboo across the ass, thighs and breasts. Ropes are tied to her ankles and a large rock attached to those bonds. They whack the rock to increase the pressure a few times and maul her nipples. Her pussy gets slapped with a bamboo cane.

Movie Pluses - the camera work is nice, focusing on the victims torment. This chick played each scene just right and was very convincing in her suffering. Not over nor under played. Just right. And the villains did what I would do - relax and enjoy the show.

Movie Minuses - as I stated earlier to Ironman, this chick has a bit too much mileage on her. Not unattractive but just rather plain. The ropes give her beauty in her torment.

The Verdict - for fans of interrogation scenarios this is a nice effort - I really enjoy watching this one and recommend you take a look if possible.

Sounds like the AV you reviewed is something called "Sad Story Under War". It's actually part of a series of AVs with the same name. Different stars, same scenario. You might have reviewed story #2. I'm not sure because there's another one with the same title that also has a star with too much mileage. The whole premise of the series is that during WWII, there were civilians that disagreed with what the Imperial govt. was doing so these civilians (or their female relatives if they were guys) were arrested and interrogated. Sort of a revisionist history AV.

Try going googling the title and see what pops up. Hope this helps.

I've seen a few of those Japanese Art videos and the bondage and tortures are often quite impressive, and this one has a lot of the same things I like...rough bondage, tying up the woman's hair (a big plus for me), sawhorse torture, upside down suspension, and I also dig putting the weights on her while she's forced to kneel on those sharp ridges. That's an old time Japanese Edo torture that I'm glad they're resurrecting for today's generation. Using weights to add to bondage torment and simply watching her suffer for a long period of time makes for great viewing. Sounds like one to pick up.

At least worth a rental, I would think.

The bondage looks pretty rough, but look what they did to her pretty face! That's one negative consequence to these current "torture porn" movies (one critic actually described them as "gornos", clever, huh?) is that most of these filmmakers seems to be more concerned with blood and gore than actual bondage and distress. And forget about nudity; we're more likely to see a woman's limbs cut off than we are to see a naked breast or two. Case in point: in I Know Who Killed Me, Lindsay Lohan got her leg cut off and some of her fingers, but did we see any bare tits? No way. And especially not while she was tied up. Maybe that's why Richard Roeper of "Ebert and Roeper" picked that film as his worst of the year. But get this: his guest critic for that same show chose Hostel: Part 2 as his worst of the year! What an idiot. The one torture porn film that got it right and he singles it out as being the worst film of 2007. He's obviously not a GIMPer.

My take on torture porn is it's all good. I think torture porn movies are helping more people to discover their inner GIMP. And who doesn't want to see women being tortured and humiliated on the big screen? (Even though I'm one of the ones who waited until Hostel: Part 2 came out on DVD -- but at least I had the option.) Plus, it helps to have professionally trained actresses (of whatever quality) selling the torture porn scenes.

Having said all that, true bondage porn is still the preferred choice. Unless Western society somehow manages to create another Joel M. Reed, I don't see anyone in mainstream cinema pushing the boundaries far enough to seriously compete with Rick Masters or our friends at Attackers. Today's torture porn movies have a touch of exploitation in them, but not enough to be a serious threat.

Filmmakers today don't know jack about catering to our crowd ... they need to take some lessons from the masters of exploitation and sleeze from the 60s,70s, and early 80s ... Jess Franco pioneered porn and violence among many others ... with all the remakes lately ... why remake Starsky and Hutch when they can remake a classic like Mark Of The Devil ...

Personally, regular bondage films have one thing that torture porn will never hold a candle to ... and that is the wood scale ... Ralphus is complaining about seeing a single breast ... detailed gential torment will never make it by the censors and producers will never agree to include it ... so ... WHY BOTHER? ... normal bondage films ... be it Japanese censored, Euro, and now US internet based material has always focused on it ... and with a lax in "ohh I'm too scared to show penetration" ... I would say that normal bondage films are made by gimpers for gimpers ... torture porn is want-a-be ... but in a fear of society judging the film makers as being too sick, demented, and perverted ... so they take the gore route instead since sexual torment is socially unacceptable for the mainstream ... implied is just as shocking so why bother with the actual details if it is going to prevent the producers from reaching a wider audience to make more money. The trend will never improve unless we timewarp back to the golden age when they would release practically anything in the grindhouse. I would rather stick with stuff catered to the gimpers made by gimpers.

Having said this I would settle for a Natalie Portman scene with her in a T-shirt, or bra with no problem. The one that was a disappointment for me was V for Vendetta. I saw Goya's in the theater and sorry to see there's about 5 minutes of good Natalie in the whole flick. The period costumes don't help. As far as whether or not it's her I'll let that fantasy remain. She did go nude in Hotel Chevalier (no double) and claims to regret it.

As far as mainstream with something beyond B movie actresses the best I've seen so far were "House of Spirits" with Winona Ryder and Geena Davis in "Long Kiss Goodnight". In both cases they were fully clothed but the actresses sold it well. The Cavallari flick interests me because it appears she was tied around the ankles too at some point (notice her ankles in the still). But I have seen no plot synopsis and only know what's on the IMDB boards at this point. Another one that interest me is P2 with Rachel Nichols.

As far as other good "gimp worthy" stuff without nudity Giga has a few. I'm going to post reviews shortly. Another J Studio that has "gimp worthy" but non-nudity stuff is Cos-More. Having said all of this, nudity works. Especially if there is a stripping scene involved. Nudity adds to the feeling of helplessness and vulnerability that makes gimp what it is. There is a mid seventies post-apocalyptic flick called "Stryker" and the high point in the whole flick is a beautiful young women is stripped while tied up against a wall. That was one of the first flicks that alerted me to my special "tastes". But I doubt that we are going to be treated with a lot of great mainstream nudity in torture flicks anytime soon.

Try this little experiment: after watching one of these gornos let it slip that you like BDSM. Watch the reactions. One way I can see fixing this prob is to have a story where nude bondage actually helps the plot along (ie, "Story of O"-ish, etc.). If not that then maybe a consensual bondage scene where the guy ties up and whips his wife/girlfriend. Starts out nonconsensual but ends up with her enjoying it. Less blood, more skin.

@elkcreek: save your money regarding "P2". She gets wet, she gets cuffed but that's it. No nudity, not even a "wet t-shirt, looking kinda nipply" action going on. The plot drags and the bad guy is such an idiot that you want to pause the vid, go outside, and whack yourself in the head with a sledgehammer just to keep watching. If you could, you'd go inside the movie, use the sledgehammer on the dumb schmuck and show him how to do it right.

He drugs the girl, knocks her out, dresses her up (off camera). He cuffs her, she escapes, and the rest of the movies is her removing her cuffs (step 1) and running around while dumbass looks for her (step 2). Lots of wasted time (yours) if you watch it. That's 35 min of my life I'm not getting back (I fast forwarded the vid about a third of the way through). Hot babe, potential for some great GIMP scenes......nothing :p.

Well, to try to even the score, here's a ZFX movie that sort of follows on the interrogation theme that was recently discussed. (I'll answer the poll questions later.)

WITCHUNT

This film was made in the 1990s, and it seems Rick at that time may have been a soothsayer of sorts. It's set in the future when religious fanatics and the government have serious hang-ups about sex and unjustly punish those with loose "morals" while proving hypocrites at the same time. Sound like the last 7+ years?

Fortunately for the viewer, the punishments in "Witchunt" have nothing to do with credit cards and unfair age-verification requirements. It's just one gorgeous and sexual blonde getting tormented with sex toys and a lot of fondling.

The fun begins with the lovely blonde Candi Licks in skin-tight athletic training shorts and matching top sitting on a park bench at night. Now, some people in her position might pull out a magazine to read or feed the pigeons. But Candi decides to masturbate. It's hard to blame her. Her hot body deserves to be touched at all times. But her pleasure is interrupted by a shadowy figure in the background, so she decides it would be a good idea to take her self-love indoors on her bed.

Travis Lee lurks around outside her apartment and watches as Candi's fingers with sexy long pink fingernails rub away. He breaks in and shoves a tube gag in her mouth. She is taken away handcuffed behind her back to a white van and transported to Federal Detention Camp 666. This is the lair of the dreaded Witch Hunters, whose task is to rid the world of women corrupted by the devil. In other words, women who like to have fun.

Candi's bent over a table and thoroughly frisked. Travis also frisks Candi's bare ass and tits because you never know if a witch is hiding a Luger under a layer of skin.

Her interrogation starts in a garage-like dungeon filled with dildos and instruments of torture. Travis's mission is to make her confess she's a witch. Candi remains gagged with the black tube but with a stick through it and more string securing it in place. Her elbows are strapped behind her, and she's wearing the same athletic gear and high heels. Travis, wearing a black mask and robe, fondles her some more and then ties her leather wrist cuffs to an overhead rope attached to a pulley and winch. She puts up a weak fight.

Travis asks her repeatedly to confess to being a witch. Since she cannot answer verbally through the gag, she shakes her head "no." He plays with her tits some more and cranks her arms higher. When she still refuses to confess, he pulls down her shorts to reveal a skimpy pair of pink panties. He fondles her pussy, removes the panties, spanks her ass and rubs her snatch. Travis remarks that she looks like she's been violated by demons, so he starts whipping her front and back. Candi's reactions to the whip are OK, and her luscious body glistens and we get some good shots of her gagged face.

Candi still won't confess. To increase the pain, Travis puts clothespins on each nipple and 4 on her pussy lips. He lashes her some more (gotta love those sound effects) and leaves her there struggling.

What's next for Candi? Travis shoves a red ball gag in her mouth and forces her on her knees in front of a chair with two plugs sticking up from the seat. He shows her the inflatability of the plugs before forcing her to sit down. We again get some good close-ups of Candi's gagged anguished face as the plugs are inflated. Suddenly, she is strapped down (offscreen). She is also sporting head gear, wired clothespins on her nipples, and electrodes attached to her pussy lips. Travis, wearing rubber dishwashing gloves, points a TV remote at her that turns on the juice and supposedly electrifies her.

The next few minutes consist mainly of Travis asking her if she'll confess, Candi shaking her head, and then "zapp." Unfortunately, Candi wasn't too convincing in her reactions. Her timing was off when she's supposed to be in pain, and she even looked a bit bored at times. She eventually passes out, or falls asleep.

Candi is still strapped to the chair, but this time with strings connecting her fingers to clothespins on her pussy lips. Travis inserts a white knotted cleave gag and blindfolds her with a white cloth. To complete the sensory deprivation, he puts headphones on her ears.

Travis then applies a clear suction tube alternately on Candi's tits. It was nice seeing her nipples get sucked up into the tube. It is also used above her clitty. But the scene dragged on a bit. Also irritating was the music. Instead of hearing Candi mmmphing, we get the old mechanical "wwhaAAAAAAaannng" followed by "wriiiIIIIIIiiiiing."

The cleave gag is removed and replaced by a dildo attached to a hanging enema bag. Travis opens up the tube, and water spurts out of her mouth and down her body. It's a pretty good scene, as Travis opens up the tube more and Candi gags, coughs and struggles. Travis finally breaks his silence by asking her if she's ready to confess. Still doesn't answer. Maybe it's because she can't hear him with the headphones or cannot speak with the water being forced down her throat.

We next have Candi with her arms tied over her head with a rainbow-colored ball gag, white neck brace, and nipple clamps attached to hanging chain. She is standing over a wooden contraption, with chain crotchrope, and two silver minivibrators taped strategically in place. Travis chains her ankles far apart, but she still won't confess. As the vibrators cackle, he whips her front and ass. Candi doesn't provide much of a reaction at first, but she gets better, especially when the nipple clamps are whipped off. A rubber dildo sticking up from the board between her legs gets inserted up her ass. The dildo is also hooked up to an enema bag, and the water flows in to cleanse her.

Next, Candi's on her back on a wood table, arms stretched above her head and legs spread wide. She's got a blue tape gag. Travis grabs some tongs and goes to work mainly on her nipples and pussy. He stretches her some more so she can barely move and puts clothespins to her sensitive areas. Then he tasers her but she still won't confess.

Travis removes the tape and shoves a huge black dildo in her mouth, but abruptly we switch to Candi standing with her hands tied behind her back, a crotchrope, tits tied in rope, and a different tape gag. Travis pushes her on her stomach on the table and slaps her ass. She's hogtied offscreen. As he hoists her up, she shows that she's finally ready to confess, probably because she's sick of Travis repeating the same old question.

SPOILER ALERT (as if you cared)

Travis removes the tape and she confesses, which means she will be put to death. Candi then shrieks and Travis gets knocked back by an invisible force. His body shakes and he is killed by some cheesy special effects. Candi gets up and walks away laughing maniacally, just as an immoral witch would do.

While not one of Rick's masterpieces, "Witchunt" is enjoyable, mainly because of Candi's looks and body. The tortures are standard ZFX fare.

Despite being gagged throughout the movie, Candi's acting was a bit inconsistent. She has lovely pleading eyes, but her body reactions to the whips and shocks were unconvincing at times.

But the biggest problem I had was Travis's dialogue, which consisted almost entirely of "Are you ready to confess?" If "Witchunt" was indeed Rick's commentary on government oppression of the porn industry and sex in general, you'd think he would have put more words in Travis's mouth.

My Grade: B-minus

Sloth: I agree with the others, that was another fine review. However, I'm not sure I'm sold on this one. The tortures described don't necessarily do much for me. For example, I'm not much into the wooden horse scenes, regardless of how painful they may actually be for the actresses involved. I get the sense that movie may be an acquired taste.

Brutus: Your review was excellent, as well, and I am in complete agreement with what you wrote. Candi Licks was (is?) beautiful but she wasn't particularly convincing in Witchunt (similar perhaps to some of the reports I am reading about a popular Japanese porn star). Witchunt was one of those movies I had hoped would be better.

As for my own contributions to the Review board... well, I had planned to review Beyond Driven 3: The Suffering of Stephanie Renford, but I haven't seen it yet. I checked the latest ZFX releases at my local adult porn shop, and they had every one of the February releases except that one. I am truly puzzled. Anyway, I will have to keep looking.

But as far as the "torture porn" I think that movies are far too "light" - no one really goes far enough into kookooland. Well, there's the hyper-realism of toetagpictures.com - I just wish there were a middle ground between the Disney-like HOSTEL II and the super extreme Toe Tag Pictures style. I've been buying tons of movies these past two months searching for this unholy grail, but I have yet to find it. Is there not a niche for it, or is it just that movie makers aren't interested in making something crazy?

The other BTK Killer movie, the one by Ulli Lommel, was garbage (typical Uli Lommel), AND had no GIMP content.

The "torture-porn" question: as with anything, there might be some good examples of it, but in general I think it is a doomed notion for mainstream film. HOSTEL 2 was for the most part an enjoyable film, and I thought one that would have been too good to be true Gimp-wise. For about two awesome minutes with Lauren German in the chair it delivered beyond my expectations, but it chickened out as a movie AND as a Gimp movie (Girl escapes the inescapable torture chamber by being RICH AND SASSY!).

To tell the truth, I finally watched Hostel 1, and it was a much better film than I thought it would be. Again, Gimp-wise, it had absolutely nothing.

I watched the clips from "I Know Who Killed Me" and felt immediately that its very minor thrills were not worth the grim content, and that it was bad for mainstream film to dabble in such things. Really, I think it is best left to underground nuts like W.A.V.E. to carry extreme content.

As for torture porn, forget it.

But bondage video isn't really there either. And I am totally turned off by things like "Sex and Submission" where bondage is only incidental to porn.

Actually, she wasn't bad as an actress; she just never emoted as well as an Alison Parish or a Penelope Pace, but she got the job done okay. As a GIMPer who likes variety, I enjoy the torture porn idea but not because I'm a gore-hound. These mainstream flicks have bigger budgets and better actresses than bondage films. And they have plots. The promising thing about torture porn is that, as the name implies, there will be bondage. As for the blood and guts, I usually hit the fast-forward button when the actual killing starts. As one who makes movies I often am not allowed to get as physical as I would like to. Once there is blood I lose all interest. Limbs coming off is also a real hard on killer for me. I love the tension leading up to the graphic torture scenes, especially if there is any kind of good bondage. I have always loved strict bondage and felt that Hollywood could never get serious stuff on the wide screen. ZFX does the best job getting plot and torture in one package. When I look at a bondage movie these days I usually check out the model and the bondage. Very rarely do I really get caught up in any attempt at theme or plot or any acting.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT TORTURE PORN? Most of it I find lame and unsatisfying. IMHO I prefer women in distress and pain but not mutilated. The Heather Matarazzo clip from H2 did nothing for me, the Bijou Phillips sections had promise but failed to deliver. The Lauren German portions would have been exceptional with a slightly better choice of outfit (lingerie?) and a few more instances of pain inflicted upon the victim. I'm not interested in seeing anyone get snuffed.

IS IT A GOOD THING OR DO BONDAGE FILMS SATISFY YOU MORE? Vanilla bondage is almost as bad as vanilla porn, although I remember a few scenes with June Bauer that moved me back in the 80's. The other thing that ZFX bothers me with is they underestimate the importance of the capture, and seeing the victim fully clothed. And then they go the other extreme and put the girl in some kind of a helmet. I WANT to see her pleading eyes, and occasionally hear her screams.

But it is quite common to see men heroes (even Clint Eastwood) at that point somewhere in the narrative. Gay bondage fans probably enjoy mainstream media far more then we do.

Poll Question: I like this one because it calls for an essay answer. First off, I think "torture porn" is something of a misnomer. What we actually have is the next step in the "slasher" genre from the 80's and 90's. Perhaps "gorture" would be a more fitting name for it. I don't know of any evidence to suggest Hollywood is trying to support the government's agenda. My guess is Hollywood is making torture porn movies because it is a legitimately recognized way to appease the censors and still show women being tortured in mainstream movies. After all, it isn't erotica, just a good old-fashioned horror movie. And the producers want to make this stuff because there is an audience for it, not because they care what government thinks.

I don't think it's as much of a Sovietization as a subtle rise in fascism that we are seeing in America. It's ok to use a tazer on a person that shouts out at a political speech when you've got 20 cops that could have just dragged him out.

It's ok to charge a 17 year old kid with felony posession and try them as an adult. Thus labeling them as a felon for life.

People are watched at intersections, schools, parks, public places by video cameras. There is no longer an expectation of privacy. We see the results of this subtle loss of freedom showing up in the school shootings. High school kids react to the pressure and every once in a while one cracks and goes nuts with an oozie.... The result is more surveillance...more controls...less liberty. More zero tolerance.

It's ok to cut someone to bits in prime time with the kids watching but it isn't ok to force them to orgasm in an adults only setting.

It ain't the end of the world....but to me it reveals a potential shift in ideology that needs to be recognized.

As an adult producer I live in fear of that knock on the door. Is "Hollywood", listening? Frankly I doubt it. Is there any way to get the message through to them? I have no idea.

As for the issue of whether we should enjoy seeing "real" torture on the screen and what difference knowing it was done with special effects makes, I would say the following. Two thousand years ago in the Roman era, humankind enjoyed seeing violence, but as they were not too sophisticated with the special effects, they just put on the show - gladiatorial combat - for real and hacked each other up for keeps.

Now, two thousand years later, if the success of the film "Gladiator" is any indication, we still enjoy seeing the violence, but as we have become technologically more sophisticated, Russell "Maximus" Crowe no longer had to really hack real people to pieces to put on the show - but it was meant to and did, look real. So, if American society today feels it had the right to enjoy the film "Gladiator" (which evidently it did, judging from the box-office results), then it has as much right to enjoy watching "the torture of the Witches..." or whatever.

About the effects of Hollywood censorship it should be pointed out that this is strictly a SELF-INFLICTED censorship. The Government does NOT censor the movies and would be very limited by the Constitution if it tried. And it should be pointed out that if the Government could and did officially censor, a company like ZFX would be put out of business instantly.

The "rating system" is something that the Hollywood establishment created of, by and for itself. But any director/producer bold enough to simply ignore it, could. OK, the initial offerings could only be released in the theaters in a hacked up "R" version, but then "the real thing" could later be offered as a "Director's Cut" on DVD. If it was a sufficient hit, then Hollywood would notice, because the one thing that really does talk in Hollywood, is money!

PS: My favorite movie along this line is an oldie called "The Abductors", with the female detective "Ginger". OK, it was no Oscar worthy piece, but it had a coherent plot (albeit with some gaping holes) and six girls were tortured in it (some more, some less, depending on how "cooperative" they were) but none were killed. I first saw it on tape when I was still a teenager... and fantasized being one of those girls ever since.

I think most people separate sex and gore into two different categories. Both may titillate in their own ways, but I don't think the majority are masturbating to girls getting their faces sawed off (a la "Hostel 2").

In torture porn, I think the suggestion of violence to come is more of a turn on than actually seeing it happen. For instance, in the original "Saw" movie, the scene where the girl is locked in the head apparatus that is about to chomp her head off was so hot to me.

The bondage element, the fear in her eyes, the anticipation of what was to come (plus her sexy outfit) - I could have orgasmed right there! The same goes for the mother/daughter abduction scene later in the movie:

But torture porn is usually too bloody for my tastes and doesn't replace my bondage fantasies. Especially since, in bondage, I don't want any suggestion at all! I want to see the spanking, the slapping, and the humiliation up close to get off!!!

To get back to 'torture porn', as it's called in the media, I think that one of the worst things these movies do is to miss out on the two things that make ZFX movies (for example) great. Should I give you a minute? I mean, of course, a sense of fun (for the villains), and a real sense of meanness (again for the villains - just think Mad Dog or Travis Lee for great examples of these). The villains in most 'torture porn' films just seem to be either insane (as in Saw/Wolf Creek) or insecure losers (as in Hostel II). Even the legendary Monkey Man from 'As Darkness Falls' gives a better sense of outright glee at his abusing a pretty girl than any of these anti-heroes.

As for perceptions of bondage fans - I actually don't think these movies have any impact on that at all. Most people think that we're freaks anyway, and from what I've seen in the media, these films are lumped in more with horror movie 'video-nasties' rather than sexually explicit films.

Yeah, the more gore connected with bondage, the more society makes the connection it is violent, which it is not. To me, bondage is fun, for sex, and role play. Another thing too, is in bondage games there is consent, whereas in mainstream horror there isn't.

To change the bias, bondage needs to be seen as fun and consensual in mainstream movies, however, money would not be made if bondage is depicted as normal, healthy and fun.

As far as "torture porn" goes - I hate it! For me, this is all about fantasy, and I am totally with Lucyboots on this one. More's the pity, but many of the early Honor Blackman Avengers are no longer available. The are buried in the archive vault after moral wankers complained.

It's a way of preparing the public for what's to come in the 24/7 global Orwellian police state surveillance grid.

Looks like it'll run about 35 minutes long (a little short of the 60 minute vid I was going for, but I decided to cut out the worthless footage and keep only the best).

Now that the project is nearly done from beginning to end--from model searching to filming to production--I can see its successes and so-called flaws. If this one pays off the expenses involved, making room for the next movie, that next movie will be five times as good.

These Gary Roberts pics are a good example of "torture porn" in my interpretation of the term. Movies like "Captivity" and "Hostel" have been made before, but they are getting a lot of attention now (and hence the misleading term) because they have bigger budgets, and some have done extremely well at the box office.

Here's a rough breakdown on my classifications (and examples) of movies and clips with possible GIMP elements:

Torture porn: (harsh physical punishment of a non-consensual sexual nature) ZFX, Attackers, Whitman, Powershotz, Bizarro

Bondage porn: (same as above but of a more consensual nature) Kink.com, House of Gord, Insex, Bondage Barracks, Dan Hawke

Love bondage: (consensual bondage with little or no violence) Bedroom Bondage, Harmony, Natasha Flade

Extreme splatter: (horror movies with emphasis on slow painful deaths and gore) Hostel 2, Saw series, Murder-Set-Pieces, Dr. Butcher M.D., Cannibal Holocaust, Video Violence

Splatter: (horror movies with emphasis on blood but not torture) Basket Case, Dead Alive, most zombie movies

Slasher/Horror: (movies with some blood but emphasis on scaring audience, not grossing them out) Halloween series, Friday the 13th series

Mainstream GIMP: (Mainstream movies that were made with us in mind) Bloodsucking Freaks, Spine, the Ginger series, Mark of the Whip, Fantom Kiler 2

Accidental mainstream GIMP: (Mainstream movies not made for GIMPers but with excellent GIMP scenes) A Clockwork Orange, Love Object, Evil Dead

My brain is sort of screwed up right now because of all the vodka. Any categories I've missed? Or more importantly, does this make sense?

I'd have to agree with the comments concerning to much blood and gore in many of Hollywood's torture "porn". To be honest, I don't watch much in the way of movies in general but, I did watch SAW II, where one scene had a female hanging by her wrists in a very cold room and was ultimately sprayed down with water before her demise. Perhaps you recall that scene? It was good for me because I really am more interested in the suffering of the subject.

Humiliation as well. If a movie shows the female bound in some inescapable fashion and perhaps in a degrading way then that really works for me. It could be as simple as her arms bound behind her and forced to give a BJ to putting her on the rack and stretching her a bit. I want to see the face, the distress, the inescapability of her bindings. I really like gagging some girls and then forcing them to have a conversation with me. Its a hot combination of distress and humiliation --especially if I add a little honey to the gag before I pop it in so she drools extra heavy. Or make her eat off the floor while severely bound and no use of her hands/arms. That sort of thing is hot. For me, its all in the distress of her situation more than anything. I like placing her in predicament bondage and then sitting back and watching things get more and more uncomfortable for her --especially when there is a camera right in her face catching every nuance. I think that adds a level of discomfort knowing that she cannot get away from the camera and that people will be watching it later. Humiliating as well.

Fun in the Sun

It was quite a contrast from the Slave Island films released last year. The basic concept was the same, but this first film didn't have the elaborate jail cell settings, and didn't quite project the same sense of joyous debauchery as the Slave Island movies I have reviewed.

However, there were plenty of whipping scenes, so people who enjoy a more even balance of torture and forced sex (compared with the heavy emphasis on the sex in the later films) might want to check this one out.

Looking over their site, it looks like they have some wholesome-looking girls, which is a definite plus in my book. Too many of these sites employ any freakgirl (Oh no, Ralphus said the F-word again!) who is willing to allow herself to be tied up (see Whipped Pussy.com for instance), so it's kinda nice that JR deliberately seeks out girl-next-door types. I'm interested in seeing what he does to them. At any rate, it was nice of him to stop by, and hopefully it won't be the only time.

jhlipton: Really nice job on the "Confessional Posters". It should be interesting to see if LucyBoots decides to post them on her site...they're pretty hardcore. And I thought mine was a little out there, but she did run it.

Brutus: I'm a little late responding to your list (I've been sick for some time and not up to doing much of anything GIMP-related) but I kinda like what you wrote. I don't especially think a site like Powershotz belongs in the "Torture Porn" category, though. It's not consensual, but I think Steve is more interested in having his girls submit rather than actually forcing them. In that vein, I think they belong more in the "Bondage Porn" list.

Speaking of Powershotz, Steve Power donated some pics from his latest movie No Hard Feelings so we'll be seeing those here soon. Those of you who have the "girls with glasses" fetish will probably be interested in this one.

A Canadian - I've meant to view some of those early Slave Island efforts and never got around to it - if there's some nice whip action I'll have to take a look - thanks for the heads up.
