Forbidden Video's newest release, Open House, marks a big step up for this company, even if it's ultimately a tease. It starts off really well. Kyle has a problem. He's going broke paying off two mortgages because he bought a new house, but his relator Kelly still hasn't sold his old place. Not one offer in two months. What's taking so long? So he makes the long drive out to investigate on his own. When he gets there, he finds that the "For Sale" sign is missing, and the interior is strewn with empty beer cans, cigarette butts and garbage. The place is a damn mess and nobody is going to buy it in the shape it's in. His relator Kelly has screwed him, and he's going to get his revenge by screwing Kelly...against her will!

He tricks her into coming to an Open House at his place, and when she arrives, he's waiting for her. Disguising himself with a Halloween mask, he grabs Kelly when she enters, knocking her out cold by putting his bare hand over her face for like, 15 seconds until she passes out. Who needs chloroform if takedowns are this easy in real life? Once she's out, he removes the Open House signs and returns to the house. He has all day with her, alone.

After looking through her purse and briefcase, he finds some things he can use. He takes a pantyhose and stuffs it inside her mouth, using a scarf around her head to complete a makeshift gag. She wakes up and there's a brief struggle, but he binds her to a chair using the plastic ties that she has onhand for her Open House signs. This one was well on its way to being amongst the best of Forbidden's work, that being the first two Gauge films. The story hooks you right away, the direction is crisp, and both actors give excellent performances. Kelly is a pretty blonde with a trim figure and thankfully, no tattoos this time, a rarity among Forbidden Video's recent models. The best part is that for the first time in a long time, there is bondage throughout the video. Just don't buy it to see a rape scene; you'll be let down. Skip the last few minutes and you'll think you saw a very good tape. My grade: B-

This review is to bring to light what may for many be an as yet undiscovered gem, a video from SLP starring Molly Matthews.

The plot is as follows. Molly meets a potential employer at his office, having been called back after an initial interview. What puts it there is Molly Matthews herself. The video has two drawbacks. As well prepared as the man's chamber of horrors is, it is also sterile white everywhere, and maybe one wall is brick. That is a minor complaint. The other drawback is the man himself. He made a good video, I'll give him that, and he takes it farther than most producers and models ever go, but he should have a stand-in or play the assistant to the main aggressor, because he has a limp, effiminate, kinda weiner way about him. It's a SlaveLabor Video, and I don't know if this guy is the one who calls himself "Abductor", but he is no Rick Masters, no Bryan Dunhill, no Joseph Marx. Even that Karate guy from THE PLANT is more manly than this guy. Not everyone's perfect, so no offense, but the guy needs to at least learn to act tough.

ZFX's rape scenes are all simulated, and despite a misunderstanding last month, they apparently will remain that way. The newest title The Dirty Dreams of Lisa Kinkaid does promise actual penetration, however, just not with an actual penis.

Myself personally, I don't necessarily feel a rape scene has to be hardcore to ring my bell. BTW, I got to see that Club Dead vid that you posted about on the forum back on August 20 (URL above). The Ranch is about what it looks like from the stills. A little while ago you posted asking what people would like to see. It didn’t seem like you got too many replies. I had intended to but got really busy and ran out of time. When I did have some time I figured the window had passed since I didn’t see any more posting form you.

Anyway, if you still want some feedback, I’d like to give you my idea of what I would consider the ultimate video. With your diversifying, it sounds like you are already headed in the right direction. The video would start with a stalking sequence, ala the beginning to “The Ranch”, which Ralphus just posted a mini review of. I haven’t seen that video yet but the principle of a drawn out stalking to build up the tension and set the mood is a must. A kidnapping follows where the victim is taken to a secluded place where her abductor’s (2, 3, 4 or more on 1 is always a major plus...multiple cum shot facials) can do with her as they please. Tied, gagged, played with and tortured. Held for ransom but used and abused and tortured for their sadistic pleasure. The ransom having been paid, instructions are given to where they can find the girl. The ending would find the raped and tortured victim being lead to the arraigned location for pick up. She is now tied hanging upside down from a tree (or a ceiling beam in a garage) to be found. To her horror however the kidnappers tape a plastic bag over her head as she meets her end before she can be rescued (ala the Gravedigger series)(and for anyone who feels they must interject, as someone always does, to point out the safety of the model...it’s called special effects. Illusion through editing. Two bags as an example. Original bag is ripped off and replaced with a second bag with tape in the same place but cut in the back and put in place with scotch tape to apply and re-apply for as many time as the shot requires). She is later found by her rescuers hanging lifeless. No costumes, no tattoos or piercing, totally naked, (no shoes) bound and gagged (except for the forced oral of course) through the rape and torture. That’s what I would consider a great video!

Right off the bat I’ll start by saying it was a mixed bag partly due to the reason mentioned above. EPW has great photography and utilize bondage and torture well in their other video “Deadly Laundry”, which I thought was a very good video. The photography is a great as ever; in fact the first hanging scene looks almost seamless from when the noose is first put on to when she is hung thanks to the editing and special effects. The torture however was almost non existent in this one other than a drilling of the teeth sequence at the end. And after viewing a great performance by Olivia in “Deadly Laundry” the acting, with the exception of Chelsea’s very good performance (due to her expressive face) in the third sequence, was very weak in my opinion. Both Deborah and Olivia seemed uninspired during their take down scenes where each is strangled to unconsciousness. Deborah spends most of the time pushing at her chair and kicking before finally ending up on the floor some several minutes later while Olivia does the same while staying in her chair throughout. Come on...you’re being strangled...I think you’d do a little more than push on your chair and kick you feet a little. You’d end up fighting, and at the very least you’d roll out of your chair to try and get out of the grip.

Deborah is the star of the first segment. She’s very hot looking with long red hair to her ass (Hair freaks will love her.). After several minutes of hanging, and I mean sev-er-al!, she is stripped naked. Purpose???? You got me. Her attacker strips her naked and that’s it. The camera just lingers on her nude, dead body. The way the camera just lingers to me is like the cameraman’s equivalent to the actress looking in the camera. There’s no point to it. The attacker just strips her and does nothing...there’s no point to the shot.

The next segment stars one of my favorites, Olivia. She wear a blonde wig in this one as Ralphus had mentioned in his review earlier. Olivia makes the perfect victim. A perfect body. A perfect face. And she has certain cuteness about her dispite her drop dead gorgeous looks. That’s what’s so frustrating, all this perfection and you never get to see it in it’s whole, just bits and pieces. After her uninspired takedown she is torturously hung by first starting out in a hog-tie, then the cord is cut allowing her feet to drop as she gets a short reprieve. She is then pulled up to struggle as she is allowed to barely touch the floor with the points of her shoes. What follows is another long drawn out hanging of several minutes.

The third segment is by far the best acted. It stars Chelsea who is attacked as she watches a video of the first two hangings. The attacker comes though the TV, attacks and strangles her to unconsciousness. She is then tied and pulled onto her coffee table in what I thought was going to be a rape scene as her legs were spread while unconscious. Instead the only real torture sequence of the tape take place here as her teeth are drilled when she comes to. She is then strangled as the video comes to a conclusion.

Like I said, I wasn’t really expecting much due to a difference in tastes. But despite that, I felt that this was a major step backwards. The story line is held together by the thinnest of threads in my opinion. It might as well have been pieced together from bits rather than with a central story in mind. It really reminded me of the Necrobabes formula of short clips rather than story. Special effects can only take you so far. You eventually need a storyline. Battlefield Earth as an example. I never heard anyone knocking the special effects...but the story sucked and therefore bombed. I hope this is not what they aspire to be.

I frequent the EPW forum a lot and it’s full of the same posters continually telling EPW how great they are. Few in number but the majority of the board. They want things to stay as they are. They want longer hanging, they want this, they want that. They want pretty much for things to stay static and not allow EPW to change or grow or evolve. Anyone who posts a contrary opinion or thought gets put down or cussed out. I realize Hanging is what they do but it’s obvious that they are guilty of wanting to please, what to me, seems like the few. Long hangings...long to the point of overkill. I kept on thinking allright already. What’s that the old adage about the actor or athlete reading and believing their own press clippings?

Just my opinion but this one had very little for me except frustration.

Number one, I love your ultimate video scenario. Rape, torture, gagged bondage, upside down, plastic bag, the works. I'd pay to see that one. My guess is that it's out of Forbidden's league though. They are definitely improving their work, with adding more bondage to their tapes, but ultimately they make rape vids with some bondage and very little torture. This looks more like a job for ZFX (cue dramatic music...now!) although I'm not sure even Rick would tackle the plastic bag part and definitely not the death ending. Everything else sounds doable. For the death thing you might consider Club Dead, but they won't do a realistic rape scene and I'm not sure if they could pull off the torture, either. Eyewitness might be your best bet there.

Speaking of Eyewitness, thanks for your review of Now Hiring. While I agree with most of your points, I think you'll have to reconsider your contention that there's little torture until the third segment with Chelsea. The reason I liked Olivia's segment so much was because they were combining hanging with torture (as if being hung by your neck isn't torturous enough). I've been thinking about who I would like to see get the ZFX treatment. I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with her, but let's just say I'm a really big fan of Misty Mundae. Just letting you know that The Dirty Dreams of Lisa Kinkaid is now available for sale on the ZFX website!
