I think it is interesting that despite the fact that some of us have completely different viewpoints as to our preferences in these ZFX flix (obvious example, the "more yelling" crowd vs. the "less yelling" contingent) we seem nevertheless to have reached a consensus on certain films as being "good" films and "better than" other films. Recent examples, Forced Entry and Ballista 2.

Perhaps we could help Rick in his movie-making process if we could identify those elements common to those films which we all agree are necessary elements for a "good" ZFX film. Any thoughts?

Here are a few of mine: In Forced Entry, the beauty of the actresses; the "natural" setting (home invasion); the simulated sex; the well-done lighting (either originally or through proper tape transfer, or both); and the creativity of the scenes (the kitchen turkey baster scene being a good example). Ballista 2 had several of these same elements, good lighting, creative situations; good simulations; beautiful acctresses. Anyone agree some or all of these are all essential elements of a "good" ZFX flick? Should we start a list?

A universal standard for what makes a good (or great) ZFX movie? Difficult but worth exploring. Difficult because I like different films for different reasons- and thats just one ZFX fan.

One example; "Vaccume" the plot does not do much for me, but Lisa's scenes in that movie rank amoung my favorites (the upside down whipping, the whipped suspended facing the wall scene, the tightly bound, standing with nipples tied scene and a nice manhandling sequence at the end). Vaccume then would fall into a category of films, that, regardless of plot are great to look at.

The Science Fiction plots rate another category. Some hit, some miss with me. The Ballista's score high as do the Underlands. BTW Am I the only one that thinks that the scene in Ballista-2, (where after the woman gives birth to the plant baby, it is wrapped in a blanket and then held up to her) one of the funniest ZFX scenes ever?

Then there are those movies where plot and content intersect for ultimate ZFX. For me, these would include the SOB's (especially the last three) "The Suffering of Stephanie Renford", and the first three Guinie Pigs.

And finally, a category for exclusive Lisa content. I appreciate the movies with one victim for an extended ordeal. "In Their Nature" is a good example, but Lisa's are my favorite (once again, "Stephanie Renford" the Voodoo Doll series).

Hmmm.. not much help with the question. The one thing that is a constant above is beautiful victims. After that things just get adjusted for kink.

Off topic: Awhile back, someone asked about the "Violation Of....." series. I watched a couple and found them dissapointing. They start well enough, often with an abduction (as in "Violation of Felicia") but after a short time, the victim is just another participant in a (often oiled) lesbian pile-on free-for-all.

This is a company that started off as a refreshing alternative to ZFX, in that they actually combined bondage with hardcore rape scenes, and a few of the first tapes I saw from them, "After School Surprise" and "Black Market Bondage", were quite good. Both starred a little honey named Gauge, and even though she couldn't act her way out of a plastic bag, once she was tied up she emoted pretty well. Plus that...she rings my bell, so I enjoyed both of them for that reason, too.

The others I bought, "Trick or Treat" and "Doctor Ruthless", both had their moments, but IMO, were interesting failures. Then I made the mistake of buying a real piece of crap called "Lessons in the Barnyard" that, like the others, contained rape, but NO BONDAGE AT ALL! And as I look over their later offerings, they seem to have virtually eliminated the bondage aspect completely (This latest tape they are selling on their site shows a couple of pictures of an admittedly attractive girl sporting a tape gag, but her hands are completely free). So what are we getting in these tapes that are billed as "Brutal Humiliation and Torture"? I'll tell you what we're NOT getting...girls in bondage! How the hell can you "torture" someone if they're not even tied up?

I won't buy anything more from Forbidden Video, unless they prove to me that they can deliver the goods like they did in their earlier tapes. They still bill "After School Surprise" as their best-selling tape, and no wonder. The stills show that honeypie tied to a bed, gagged with tape, spread out and about to be raped. Maybe they should take another look at what they did right in that tape and wonder why their newer tapes aren't selling as well as one of their first. This company seems to have lost their focus big-time, and if they continue to churn out more junk like the last one I saw, they will lose their audience, as well.

Sometimes just small nuances become the high points. Case-in-point: I saw SOB5 last night for the first time. I'd rate it not the best, but pretty good. A few of the items which lingered pleasantly for me were: (a) Lisa's wet (and longer-looking) hair, and then, when dried, stringy hair. She just looked sexy like that, and it made constant the reminder of the earlier dunking scene; (b) The scene where the other actress is strung up and the dudes are playing cards, ignoring her. Something about that humiliation of being left strung up, hanging around waiting until the guys regained interest, was pleasing: and (c) the next scene, where Lisa had the thin orange tape over her mouth. Maybe it was the color of the tape, or its thinness (which really let the viewer see the contours of Lisa's mouth), or just the novelty, but again, this was a highpoint for me.

So, I guess sometimes it's just novelty or the little things that strike us as interesting and exciting, and the best advice to Rick is to just keep experimenting with different stuff. And it's true, most of the fetishistic elements, if repeated ad nauseum (such as whipping) seem tired and old. But some things no matter how often repeated, will never lose my interest, such as the vaseline being slowly rubbed over the bound girl's butthole scenario. Always a turn on, probably cuz I like meance and threat and buildup and anticipation so much, so maybe not a commonly enjoyed element, just personal to me...

Enough rambling, other's thoughts appreciated...

Zee-ef-Ex: You hit the nail on the head--the threat, anticipation, build-up and menace of a scene are all important elements of a good vid. Also in that vein: scenes where the sub/victim is either undressed forcibly or reluctantly coerced into undressing. And I would not worry about the anal lube scenes you mentioned disappearing from ZFX anytime soon...at least not until Rick becomes Born Again.

Has anyone seen Bondage Imagination Ulimited? If so, could you give me a quick synopsis, and where I might be able to find a copy? I can't seem to find it available anywhere.

It wasn't bad. It wasn't nearly as good as the superior "Rape of Samantha Sweet" but that was basically a rape film with some torture thrown in. This one is totally a torture film from beginning to end, but the main flaw, unfortunately, was that it was a girl/girl one. As a victim, beautiful blonde Paige is very appealing. As a dom, with glasses and slicked-back hair, she just doesn't have the believablity of an real villian. When she says things like "Open your mouth or I'll kill you", she just seems to me like a pretty lady pretending to be tough like a man. It just doesn't ring true to me, but others may like the like the idea of a girl dominating another girl.

That said, the tape has plenty of interesting and unusual tortures to offer. And the victim in this one is a very cute redhead, who plays her role perfectly (She screams and cries effectively, selling the scenes like it really hurts). The tape appears to have been made with the foot fetishist in mind. She endures clothespins on her toes, as well as candles under the soles of her feet, with the wax poured on them as well. At one point, Paige even stomps on her foot with her boot! Michelle also is forced to grip lit birthday candles between her toes while Paige tortures them with a spiked toy (although that reads better than it looks). Let's see...she gets clothespins on her tits and pussy, as well as between her fingers (?) Well, it's different, anyway. There's also a scene where Paige inserts toothpicks under Michelle's fingernails, and if it's an illusion, it's a damn convincing one. Then she sets the toothpicks on fire. At one point, Paige even snuffs out a lit candle in Michelle's mouth (fake, but a nice try). Michelle also gets electric shock to her toes, but Paige ignores the most obvious targets, her shapely breasts and pussy. Feet are nice, I suppose, but I'm a traditionalist :)

This one even has a snuff ending, even though it's totally and obviously faked. Paige takes a knife and slashes up Michelle's feet (Of course the feet!) and breasts, and finishes up by slicing her throat (not shown). I like the idea of a company taking things to a further level, and all three of the Rapemaster tapes I've seen have gone that route, in at least showing us things that would normally be too nasty or sick for average fetish material. I suppose that's how they justify asking $60 apiece for their tapes (ouch!), which is really too much, IMO. Still, lots of interesting stuff in this one. Just depends on what you like. The redhead made it work for me. I liked it. Overall, I'd give it a B-

And Ralphus mentioning Rapemaster. They have a new one out but 'am not even slightly interested in seeing. Description includes....forced to eat crap.....no thank you. Not for my eyes.

Now, many of you have been wondering why I quit... Part of the reason has been the scrutiny I was potentially facing at my new job. I'll have to second the advice already given by the others on this board, namely tie the girls up, gag them, and make the setting realistic. Maybe I'm just getting old, I dunno. But it seems to me that the older stuff had a better appreciation for combining elements. Make the girls look hot. Dress them well, have them move well. Come up with diabolical tortures, and maybe even make them help. Have a lot going on. It makes for good replay value, and more entertainment.

Most of the older flicks had villains with purpose, however simple or twisted it might be. I think that's why I got such a kick out of Ballista 2. The villain had a real (and twisted) idea about what he was about, and really thought he was a hero in his own way (the classic comic book arch-villain's dilemma-and Rick probably thought we all missed that little touch). The damsel looked great in her plant scene (easily Rick's best animation scene to date), and Lisa looked good in her purple outfit. Lisa also gave a great performance in that movie. Maybe one of her best. All these things are probably why I thought Viral Load was a bit flat, despite starring Penelope, one of my favorites, and featuring goo and inseminating beasties, favorite topics of mine. Just a bunch of violent terrorists, no higher purpose. Just a bunch of goons being goons. Who just happen to get their hands on a top research scientist and all the advanced equipment for her to do her work.

These days it seems like ZFX is about the only fetish maker out there that can still get me to look at their work. I liked SOB3, B2, the first Underland was great (evil, otherworldly things are kind of cool in an anime or Dante-esque way), and I liked 666. I haven't seen SOB5 yet. Does anyone have a good synopsis for this Phallicide" movie Rick's doing? I think I missed that post.

Last, I had a little idea. We've done polls in the past about which model was your favorite, but I've got one a little different for you: Which ZFX model would you most like to meet for a date? And why? I'll start: There are 3 models I'd like to meet. They'd be Penelope, Tabitha, and Christina Anderson. Why? Thats all I'm going to say about the movie for now other than to tell you that Ms Winter is very very hot, really a nice body an pretty face on this one. She is also a real screamer and fighter as well, though I know that some of you will be disappointed that she is gagged through out most of her ordeal. Its a fairly simple, straight foward story. At 55 min its not the longest tape in ZFX history, but it cuts right to the chase and the action is very intense.

Every now and then when I check out the web for some interesting new tapes, I hit a home run. I'm not even sure where I found this link, but I just saw a new one this week that blew me away. It's a horror film called "Fantom Kiler 2", foreign, with subtitles. That aside, it's also one of the nastiest combinations of horror and bondage I've ever seen. There are three beautiful women who all get stripped, tied up, gagged and tortured (and yes, brutally stabbed...this is a horror movie, after all). Anyway, the biggest highlight was a long scene where a naked woman gets tied spreadagled to the hood of a car, tape-gagged, and then has JUMPER CABLES clamped onto her nipples, which are then connected to the battery of another car. You can figure out what happens next. Yowza! And the great thing about the movie is that the bondage and nudity are not briefly glimpsed; they play it up from all different angles, and the scenes are all filmed like the director knows that the bondage is the most important part, which of course, it is :) I'll tell you one thing. There is NO WAY a movie like this would EVER get released in the United States. It appears to have been made for bondage fetishists, disguised as a horror film. I put the website address up as my Homepage URL, if you want to look at the pictures. It's fairly inexpensive, only about $20 in US currency, but I should warn you it took nearly two months to be delivered (from England, I believe). But it is well worth the wait. I've already watched it twice.

And in case you're wondering, strangely enough, the first "Fantom Kiler" apparently has no bondage whatsoever, nor does a Part 3. I looked at the stills and saw previews on the tape, and there's nothing even resembling the kind of mayhem in Part 2. I guess they shot their whole load making this one :)

Question for the movie experts: Ten years or so ago I saw a seventies era thriller which involved the hijacking of a yacht filled with young hieresses. I do not remember much about the movie except a scene where they are taken on deck, stripped and filmed for the ransom video. Anyone know what the move was called?

I checked out the club tonight and posted to the Messages section. Looks like this guy "Hankhobbs" has put a lot of effort into capping stills from many of the older ZFX titles. Like I mentioned in my post, there couldn't be a better advertisement for ZFX than this club, even though almost anyone who would go there would already be a fan. His caps, even though they're not as sharp as the stills on ZFX's own site, are going to get people thinking about possibly buying some of Rick's older stuff, and face it, there's not much newer stuff being made nowadays. Some of these images I haven't seen in years, and I'll bet many of the ZFX fans have never had a chance to see all of Rick's work. It's all still out there; you can buy any of them from the link on the ZFX website, so what are you waiting for? :)

Seriously, I would check out the free pictures and then order the videos that look good based on the stills. Why wait on the few new offerings that ZFX puts out anymore to get a fix? If you haven't seen all 150 or so of the vids that ZFX has released, you're missing some good stuff.

I had to drop Rick a quick note. Rick, check out Sara in the members section of the ZFX club. She's on the first page and I think her member name is "alltiedup" or something like that. Anyway you can't miss her since she's the only female on page one. She's got a picture and she looks HOT!!!!! Rick put her in your films man. Make her an offer.
