Audio in videos- How important is it to have sound?

Just some further thoughts on the whole “audio for bdsm clips”.

Do you guys remember this series of videos?
I think they were called “History of Pain” or somesuch, not to be confused with the Lomp offerings. The actresses were all nice, model types, the bondage was tight, and the lighting was very dark.
But the thing I most remember was that the vocalizations were very restrained, to the point where I wondered if the actresses were specifically told not to vocalize too loudly?

It was "History of Torture", and I think it was a German company that put it out. I only recall one video that had any sort of speaking role, and it was in German ("Law and Order" and its sequel). The site used models from a variety of different countries, so to avoid complications with language, the speaking was kept to a minimum and the models told to act with expressions and body language. The models were all hot and very attractive. Some turned up in supporting roles in the Bound Heat films, particularly in the early days. None of the tortures were fake, but none of the tortures left visible lasting marks, either. I thought that gave it an air of authenticity that I liked; hard, but not too hard. Give her an hour and the GIMP would be ready for another go.

Nowadays, the customs I write and finance with Cruel World are all in Russian, which I don't speak, so I don't know what they're saying anyway. But it is nice to hear the rattle of chains and the yelps of the victims when the pain is applied.
