Countdown to the End

We understand there's a world crisis that affects everyone as it affect us in unexpected and near drastic ways.

We're holding on but as the circumstances grow dire, we are beginning to see that we might reach a point of no return.

We still have some hope that the current situation will turn around for the better, but if it doesn't, if it continues to deteriorate at the present rate, then the outcome is clear.

There will be a moment when we will post a communique, that is ready, and we will begin the countdown.

We hope we will never have to do that, but given the state of affairs we feel that it will most likely happen.

This is what needs to happen soon.

We have to have more sales.
We have to get more subscribers to our streaming channel.
And we need to see more support coming our way.

We're not saying you have to buy, or join or anything like that. We're just saying that those things have to happen for us to return to the 'normal' status we had for almost 30 years.

Maybe our base of supporters are dying out, maybe people don't have the money to buy movies, maybe there more reasons that we're not aware of or we suspect but we can't change that overnight.

The basic point is that if we don't see an improvement soon, we will begin the countdown.

It can also happen that things could turn for the worst and we would simply disappear from the internet un-announced.

As August begins we're looking back to how the year went already and what to expect before the end of the year.

The signs are clear and we have no choice but to start the countdown to the end of the Forum as it is now.

We hope things improve to continue for many years to come, but if they don't then we will stop the Forum at the end of January 2027

This is not a fundraising effort. We will not have fundraising now, nor in the future. This is an announcement.

Our monthly average is below 60% from what it has been for the last 30 years and it keeps going down.

We have very simple goals. To improve our average by at least 20% per month so as to get back to our positive average by the end of the year. If that happens, then we will be around for a while more. If it doesn't, then we will stop some of our websites while focusing on those that become the more important to maintain.

We have two simple ways to accomplish our goals.

Increase our sales by at least 20% per month, which at this point are below 60% of previous years.
Meet our membership goals in our Streaming channel, which at this point do not reach the 15% of our goals for this year.

We do not expect to meet our goals from this Forum and we're not asking for that, just to consider buying our films or joining our streaming channel.

We will be working on the promotion of our work here and elsewhere for the next three months before we decide where our efforts will go in the years to come.

This is the first announcement that we know only a few people will read, and those who do, will know what is happening.

Sales Status Overview

The image above reflects our store’s performance from July through August 3. It shows current sales progress and highlights where results remain below the expected level.

How to Read the Chart

The yellow marks inside the red background indicate low sales. For performance to return to a normal level, all yellow lines must move into the green area, and all currently empty days must be filled.

Key Outcomes

• If the chart does not improve by the end of August, the countdown will show 150 days remaining.
• If most of the lines in the red cross to the green line, the countdown will stop.
• If all lines move into the green by the end of the year, performance will be considered back to normal.

Year-to-Date Sales Trend

The chart shows a consistent pattern across the months shown this year. While the monthly results follow a similar shape, overall sales have declined steadily over time.

Projected Risk

If the current downward trend continues, performance is unlikely to improve by the end of the year.

Required Action

To return to normal performance levels, we need to increase sales significantly.
• Improve sales results enough to reverse the current trend.
• Fill the remaining gaps in the chart.
• Move the performance indicators into the green area.
If sales do not improve, we may need to discontinue several outside activities, including this forum.

I guess like with any buisiness there comes time to adapt or pull a plug. Sad to see that time has come for red feline.

Red Feline Update

Businesses sometimes reach a point where they must adapt or make difficult decisions. While it is upsetting to see Red Feline facing that moment, this is not the end of the company.

What Is Changing

Red Feline will continue as a company, but our efforts and resources—both human and financial—may need to shift in a different direction. As a result, some of the projects and services we currently finance could be affected. We have until the end of the year to make a final decision.

Services That Will Continue

Our stores, streaming channel, and main websites—including redfeline.com, pachamamafilms.com, and vermeerworks.com—will not be affected; ralphus.net will also remain online.

The areas most likely to be affected are the Forum and several other websites we operate.

Hosting and Disk Space Challenges

One immediate issue is disk usage. Our hosting account is now over 80% full, which means we either need to upgrade, once again, to a higher hosting plan or delete a large number of images, a difficult and time consuming task.

The forum uses most of the available disk space, largely because most of the large number of daily posts include images.

By comparison, all of our other websites together use less than 20% of the total space. We are looking into how to handle this over the next few days.

Why the Forum May Be Affected

At this point, upgrading the hosting plan is not a practical option. We have upgraded four times before, and each upgrade has essentially doubled the cost. That is one of the main reasons we may not be able to keep the forum running in its current form—or possibly at all.

Recent Sales and Outlook

We recently released a new film, Simonne’s Journey of Pain, which has helped raise our average daily sales slightly. If this film and our upcoming releases perform well over the next couple of months, we may be able to return to normal operations and even afford to upgrade our hosting plan.

For now, we will continue monitoring sales and reviewing our options.

The Countdown Continues


We recently released Simonne’s Journey of Pain, an intimate, occasionally humorous look at how Simonne becomes the characters she plays in our films.

What We Hoped to Learn

This release became a test of sorts: a way to see how our audience would respond and whether it would lead to a meaningful increase in income.

Early Results

The initial response raised our hopes. Daily sales increased during the first few days, and we hoped that momentum would continue.
After that early lift, however, sales leveled off and began to decline. They now appear to be heading back toward what has been this year’s low average.

What It Means

That is not a good sign. If the trend continues, we will have to begin the countdown at the end of this month.

The Next Three Months

We will have new releases over the next three months—at least two of them. If those releases improve the situation, we will stop the countdown.

What Will Happen During the Countdown

During the countdown, we will gradually adjust the site to reflect the situation. This will include limiting new posts and attachments until they eventually stop altogether.
The forum itself will remain online as an archive, but it will no longer receive maintenance. It will stay available for as long as the site hosting remains active.
