Demise of live production

Post by bakerboy »

... I do NOT understand how really AI works, I work with live models, but if this....

..... becomes more common and less exacting, it will eliminate the need for live models.. It almost looks real, NOT as a cheap "porny" shit claiming to be AI.

As AI becomes more and more powerful, the difference between real live models and artificial models will gradually become less and less visible I guess.
That's not only a concern in the porn industry, it's also the case in main stream movies. Remember the actors and actresses on strike in Hollywood because of the increasing use of AI in computer generated scenes.

Personally, I believe that there will always be people who love making BDSM productions with real live models rather than producing such movies artificially on a computer. There's not much fun in that, right? ;)

On the other hand AI will make it possible to create extreme movies, not possible with real live models, that look very realistic (assuming the software will allow it which is not certain).

Yup, WestWorld is not far off:

Agree...... for some hobbyist maybe, but most of us producers are in it for $$$$. ;) ;)

This is what mean. When there comes the time when you can ( with a few strokes of a mouse) make any fantasy come to " almost a real life ", where the models are ALL beautiful, do not cause problems on set and do not cost any money. Then you will see the creativity ( especially in a GIMPy fantasies) explode.

For me, as I have said above, it is ALL about money ...."in and out", so when it costs ( lets say on 4 day shoot) about 50,000 Euro to make a movie, I would rather pay 50,000 to a programmer to create what he is told and save myself ALL of the " agro" you get with live production. For me it is not fun it is a business. Cannot wait for a excellent quality AI to come myway. :D

I tend to think this is going to go rather like the transition from film to video in the 1980's. At first there will be more content, it will be cheaper and more variegated targeting more interests and it will seem great. But then it will attract people who are more about the easy $$$$ than quality kink, it will turn out that a lot of the new content is repetitive and flat, and the people who would actually like to do the kinky bits for real -- who have always existed -- will find that they can't get paid enough to make a proper living off of it, so their stuff will be kind of half-assed and uncompetitive even though it's very noticeably more creative and realistic. (This will be the case even though AI tools will make it cheap to put actors in fantasy situations; the problem is that BDSM tools that are worn and used on the body are finicky and expensive, and AI won't really help with them.) Eventually we will look back at today's production standards and lament that nobody is bothering to do it right any more.

FYI: The transition did not occur until the end of millennium.

Maybe..... I am old enough to remember when we switched from 35mm film to digiBetas. Our buyers quickly realized it and reduced all fees, Read: " Film = expensive; video= cheap." So, for a while and until EVERYBODY was shooting on video, we run the finished video over exposed ( but not filmed on ) film material to get that " film look" ( film grain). We got away with that for years...

So, when AI advances to the level that all is possible ( including your nipple clamps ;) ) then live action will be only left to home amateurs and shared with "neighbors", there will not be a business for actors.
