Here's some candidates for the GIMP Hall of Fame

I would like to nominate Luna from Death Trap Studios. She has shown to be an all-around GIMP: sawed in half by power saws, electro tortured, eaten by alien monsters, tortured by crazy bubbas.

You get no argument from me. Luna is always great in whatever role she plays, even if the filmmakers didn't take full advantage of her talents. I haven't seen her in a while; for the longest time she was exclusively with Deathtrap Films, a hit-or-miss production company, but where she's achieved her greatest successes.

It is surprising that she's never been on the ballot before, but she can definitely be written in and accumulate some votes this year. She would be an excellent write-in candidate.

All committee members are allowed to vote for up to 20 candidates on the ballot, plus 2 write-ins. So you don't have to waste your last remaining vote on Luna; you can add her as a write-in.

As for your final vote, if you indeed believe like I do that the Hall of Fame is about a body of work over a period of time, I can think of no better choice than a producer who was responsible for at least a dozen GIMP classics over a 50-year career. Email me if you want to make any additions.

BTW, those folks in the know, would you give us a little background on the prolific bdsm-meister known as "Oakman". I think he deserves to be in the voting for the GIMP Hall of Fame.

You don't hear his name very much, but he does a lot of bondage work, and probably has fingers in a lot of bdsm pies. Not necessarily in the "torture" part of the pie, but maybe he does that under a different nom de plume.

For instance I believe most of Chrissy Marie's work was done with the Oakman.

Here's a memo to GIMP Hall of Fame committee members.  A lot of you have still not filled out and mailed your ballots.  The voting deadline is midnight on Sunday, February 19.  

If you're still researching the names on your ballot and paring down your top 20, here's a suggestion for all of you: Japanese superstar Naomi Tani.  Even though it's been over 40 years since she made her last film, she's still affectionately known as the Queen of S&M in her native Japan.  

Here's a little history lesson. The Japanese were making bondage films way back in the 1960s, but the genre was little known outside of Japan until 1974.  That's when Nikkatsu studios made the original Flower and Snake film starring Tani, and followed that up with Wife to be Sacrificed, one of the biggest hits of all time, and the movie that opened up Japanese S&M cinema to a worldwide audience.  

She followed these up with Nikkatsu classics like Cruelty: Black Rose Torture, Fairy in a Cage, Rope Hell, Slave Wife and many, many more.  For 5 years she was the number one S&M star in Japan, and she retired in 1979 while still at the top of her game.

I know a lot of you don't watch Japanese bondage films, and even I have strayed away from them in the past years.  But back in the 1970s, they were making some outstanding films, movies that have stood the test of time.  And Tani was an amazing performer.  I've voted for her every year she's been on the ballot, but the most votes she's ever received in a single year was a measly 4.  

Give yourself a treat.  Go over to Rarelust and download one or more of Naomi Tani's films.  They're all in DVD quality sharpness, and a lot of them have subtitles, too.
