Here's some candidates for the GIMP Hall of Fame

You know, I toured the GIMP Hall of Fame again and noticed that Kathy Williams has never been nominated, even though she's been in a number of GIMP films as the GIMP that keep popping up here, including "Love Camp 7", "The Ramrodder", "Invitation to Ruin", "The Lustful Turk" and the heretofore unknown to me "The Babysitter". She just might be the most unknown GIMP victim to appear in the most exploitation movies in the shortest amount of time, having been active from 1968 to 1969, probably because she was David Friedman's go-to girl when he needed a busty attractive brunette to suffer at the hands of a villain. I say, by nominating David Friedman for the GIMP HoF, then Kathy Williams should follow along as well.

She can be nominated simply by one of the remaining voters adding her to his list as a write-in before voting ends. As far as her worthiness to the GIMP Hall of Fame, I'm not really sure. With 17 film appearances in just a two-year span, that's very impressive. Chaser brought up the number of GIMP films she appeared in, but merely being a nude extra while other women were the ones playing the victims doesn't really qualify in my mind.

I doubt many people knew about her scene in The Babysitter before, so she only had The Ramrodder on her GIMP resume. But with two outstanding GIMP scenes now (and maybe a third if you count her wooden dildo rape scene), she's at least worthy of being nominated.

That brings up a question about whether one-timers should be considered good candidates for the Hall. One of our voters keeps casting ballots every year for one actress who got tied up in one movie and never appeared as a GIMP in the rest of her career. Okay, she rung your bell in a favorite scene, but does that merit a vote?

Fritz and I used to argue this point over and over about one-time candidates. He doesn't believe they are deserving, and for the most part, I agree. With very few exceptions, the ones that belong are those that have had multiple GIMP appearances over their acting careers. However, that's not the way the rules are written. It says "vote for those candidates that you feel have had a SIGNIFICANT IMPACT on the fetish."

With that in mind, there's one candidate I vote for every year, and one I'm asking you to consider, Camille Keaton. She's not exactly a one-timer, but she's really only known for one movie, the original I Spit On Your Grave. Her outstanding performance in that one film, and the impact the movie has had since then, I think is historically important. This wasn't the very first rape/revenge film, but it's one of the earliest, and one of the nastiest, too. It spawned several remakes and sequels, as well as countless imitators, and basically launched the entire genre to moviegoers. Since you can't vote for the entire movie, I'd say vote for the actress who starred in it and made it believable. I think she's definitely deserving.

For me, HOF (at least as it exists in sports or the arts) is about a body of work over a period of time. A single performance or a couple may make someone one of your favorite players--or someone who had a major impact on your personal experience of the genre, but by that definition there will always be hundreds of candidates who get a few votes each--and a number of real all-stars who never make it. Especially in the category of mainstream movies, where the number of candidates is pretty limited, a single hit (like Poor Cecily or Hot Spur or ISOYG may have stood out like a sunflower in an onion field. It is a historical anomaly, like a pitcher winning 30 games in a season, but by itself does it reach HOF proportions?

Besides "I Spit", Camille also had a rape scene in the prison film "Concrete Jungle." Her debut was in an Italian Giallo "What Have You Done to Solange," in which she played Solange.

I think some of these cases can be solved if there were a category such as "Best GIMP scene on film."

I would like to nominate Luna from Death Trap Studios. She has shown to be an all-around GIMP: sawed in half by power saws, electro tortured, eaten by alien monsters, tortured by crazy bubbas. . .

Hear hear! And her body of work, though I believe it's all been in the modern era with Deathtrap Films, is fairly substantial. That "body of work" has been somewhat important to me in voting for the HOF.

Luna, in one of my favorite scenes, kidnapped, stripped naked and tied on a cart. She eventually gets free of her bondage on the cart, only to meet her bloody doom deeper in the "Kill House". Deathtrap Films' "No Way Out".
