Oh yes, you've nailed it. Are you going to do the 'trestle' part too?
Yeah, but look rather a donkey. Despite reading the descriptive paragraph over and over again, I couldn't wrap my head around how the author meant the trestle to adjust vertically, to increase the pressure between the legs? Your English is better, do you understand what's involved there?
Also another licence I took was the angle of the frame. The book describe it as vertical, like a drying frame. The hights was a man head's hights and the vic was suspended by pulling the legs sideways. Marchioness was a petit figure and it might work but Ciri is a tall and slender gal so it wouldn't work as described. Therefore I had to angle it, to allow the body to sag in the bonds but not too tall to require the guy with the funnel to require a ladder.
Actually I interpreted the frame set at an angle pretty much as you show in your image, and yes she was suspended by the spreading and pulling forward and out of her legs... again as you did. That was the only way it made sense to me.
I admit to being confused about the description of the trestle, and after multiple reads I think I figured it out. Picture a heavily built structure much like a common sawhorse, only larger and taller, with one end set lower than the other so the upper horizontal rail would slope down at an angle that was something less than the angle of the frame. The upper rail would be 3 inches wide or so and positioned under her at the middle of her back. Due to the different angles the low end of the rail would contact her butt and hips first, rather than along the entire back. The first few jars of water were poured in, then the trestle is jammed further under, forcing her hips up and a bit forward and tightening the ropes to stretch her. More water is induced, and the trestle is jammed forward again, pushing her hips further up and now pressing hard against her spine and forcing her torso up tightening the tension on her arms and shoulders as well as her hips and legs.
If I'm seeing it all correctly it would have been a terribly cruel combination of water torture and a rack stretching.
Anyway, that was my take on it.
