wulf wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2023 3:22 pm Yessss!!! Another of your great renders with the rarely seen spiked roller. And to top it off a cruelly designed heated horse in the background. Beautiful work and a great update to old scene. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, wulf. I always liked the ghastly threat of the spiked roller. I just wish I could collect that inside story or at least both first pages. But most of those old magazines are gone for good, though they really weren't very descriptive. It's hard to believe they were sold in grocery and drug stores back in the day! But they were my first taste of girls in mortal peril!
Yep, mine too. A lot of those illustrations are still familiar to me after all this time. But I don't recall the scene you posted, so was likely one that I missed.

Speaking of spiked rollers, this one from part 3 of Delights of the Torture Chamber set has been a favorite of mine since the 80's when I first saw it. Had a lot of fun with it too. ;)

I found these images from an unknown interior story from the pulp Men's magazine called Man's Book dated April of 1965. I wish I had more info, but as most collectors know, those mags are almost impossible to find these days as well as costing lots of $$ to buy if you can find them. Anyway, I was inspired to create my own image with the heroines more suitably attired and with a bit of a backstory. So here's the original images and my 3D interpretation.

I'm retired, so I ought to have plenty of time for my "hobby," but I'm finding time to be shorter than ever! Go figure!

Anyway, glad you liked my work. The old Men's magazines give me a lot of suggestions, but sometimes I have difficulty finishing things up.

Yup, I remember that illustration quite well! Unfortunately, the "Delights of the Torture Chamber" ended on a disappointing note one image after the one you posted with Lydia still capable of enduring more torment even as the story ended. I guess the artist was afraid of being too explicit about poor Lydia's fate!

I know. I remember expecting to see another part but it never came about. A lost opportunity for sure.

I know the feeling. There is many an unfinished scene in my bag.

Is there any interest in a medieval interrogation series based on the following images?

The first one is yours? You don't usually employ indirect lights.
