We got this email from our hosting service:

I took out the link in the email we received.

The image is that of a child, not AI, an actual picture. I'm looking for it in the database to eliminate it. I haven't seen it in the posts.

If anyone here is sharing that picture I must tell you that if I find it and if I find the perpetrator, It will be reported to the authorities.

I'm sorry, but it looks like the end of this FORUM is coming, we cannot risk everything to continue running it when there are people who are so irresponsible.

I also found it in my files, no idea if I was the original poster, or re-poster (but not the creator !) since it was years ago. I deleted the attachment and my files to be safe. No abuse to be seen in this pic but yes the (apparent) age is debatable. We (I) must be very careful with such contents in the future, especially if non-traceable . If in doubt I won't post anymore.

The age in that picture is not debatable. Not at all. It keeps appearing when I use the link that was sent to us on the email. Thus, the picture is there.

This is no longer a 'let's be careful' issue. We have been reported and we are risking loosing the hosting service and be the target of investigation. We might have to close down shop.

This is very serious. I had the suspicion this day might come, either through carelessness or through a malicious attack. I have not seen the link, but I hope the problem can be quickly and permanently solved. It would be a great loss for all to lose the forum.

We're going to be working on this until it is resolved. We're waiting to hear from the hosting service to see if they accepted our response.

But the damage is done, we're now under observation, but changes will have to be made, including changing the hosting service, which is a drag.

The change will be huge, that's for sure, if we want to continue. We'll see.

Yes, frog. I echo your sentiments, THANK YOU to La Reine Margot.
But we're not dead yet.

The only "good" thing is that they are coming down on the Forum for under age depiction, which we ourselves find despicable.

Not the thousands of other images which could conceivably be objectionable.

We have not received a response from GoDaddy yet and we haven't found the pictured that caused this mess ... yet. We cannot enable the attachments until we find that picture, it can take a few days... or a few years. IF ANYONE KNOWS where that picture was posted, so we can locate it, I'll appreciate it. We need to find the thread and the approximate date. If we find it and we delete it, then we'll be back in business as usual.

Back some time, I think 2021 (during the pandemic ) I spent about a week geeking out on your editor to see what it could do, and one thing I discovered was... just because you've deleted an attachment from a post, doesn't mean you've erased it from the memory storage, you've simply told the post to stop displaying it, a link like used in the [lmage] command will continue to work even though the originating post no longer displays the attachment, at least for a while, I don't remember testing it more than two days, and I don't remember if we had memory issues at the time. Deleting a file simply tells the computer that , that space is available to be over written. But if it works like a desk-top or old laptop it wont go back and write-over until it runs out of free sequential space in front. This is theory,I cant test it.
But before I recycle a laptop, I delete everything (which removes nothing ) but enables the system to write over my naughty pics with Gilligan's Island box sets. If the 3rd poster in this topic is the only one to put it up, and deleted the attachment from post using up all remaining memory so it writes over all deleted files might be the simplest way to kill it, run this post by your I.T. guy. Once the link stops working you can delete the " Gilligan's Island box sets" and we will over write it with safe "naughty pics" GOOD LUCK
