They probably believe that the vast majority of movie watchers, who aren't into that fetish, won't care how tight the bindings are. And perhaps they are right. But it shows laziness on the part of the producers & crew imo, and it would look silly to me even if i didn't have the kink.
I tend to cut them some slack because they are been seen by the general public. What I really don't like is a porn production that dabbles in bondage that none of them are into or know what to do. Loose ropes, fuzzy cuffs, empty mouth cleave gags... seriously ? It's supposed to look non consensual at the least.

Yeah, the "love-bondagers", using a term that was coined a long time ago. I guess there is a niche that subscribes to that, but certainly not the GIMP members. I tend to look once and just move on.
