Welcome to GIMP COMICS. Here you will find graphic stories featuring girls in merciless peril, depicted in the style of the comic books which many of us enjoyed in our youth – comics in which women were often tied and tormented by evil villains hell-bent on their destruction. Sadly, these heroines usually managed to escape their captors and exact revenge, but in this section they are not so fortunate.

The artists (and writers) who created the GIMP comics included here were clearly targeting an adult audience. The sex and violence in the stories exceed the tame titilation of Modesty Blaise or Barbarella. Thanks to pioneers like Robert Crumb and Ralph Bakshi, comic porn hit its stride in the 1970's, but only “underground” masters like Eric Stanton, Jim McQuade and Demulatto dared to tackle the BDSM and S&M motifs of the GIMP world.

Many of the artists who created these series remain anonymous or unknown. Others have passed on or no longer publish their work. Though the GIMP is sensitive to copyright restrictions, it is assumed that the selections posted here are in the public domain. Preference will be allotted to comics which are rare, old or not widely available on the 'net. If you have candidates for this section, please contact Ralphus and he will be happy to publish any jewels you may have hidden in your collection. We hope this section will grow as GIMPers (who will be credited for their contributions) submit interesting and long lost finds.

Along with traditional adult comics released over the past fifty years, this section also will showcase the work of European and Japanese artists whose fumetti and hentai are as popular as ever. Some foreign titles will be translated, but most will be posted in their original language (albeit restored where possible). Although the majority of GIMP comics are presented as B&W line drawings, some will be in color. CG and Poser series may be added as well, depending on content.

HOW TO USE GIMP COMICS

Click once on the icon accompanying each comic to start the viewer. Use the small navigation control at the bottom of the screen (or the left and right arrow keys) to move ahead or backward. For optimum resolution and readability, view the comics in full screen mode by pressing F11 or selecting Full Screen from the View menu of your browser. To close the display, move your cursor to the top of the screen (Firefox) or press F11 again (IE) to access your browser controls.

You may also download the complete set of comic panels to your computer by using the links following the descriptions.

Finally, a word of caution regarding GIMP Comics content. As artists, like writers, have the freedom to create just about anything imaginable in their work, some choose to include outrageous scenes of sex and violence which can be extreme and/or bizarre – often more so than what you might find in GIMP photos or movies. Though we hope this section will ultimately reflect a variety of perils, ranging from mild to wild, a key is included below so viewers will know in advance how “hot” the subject matter will be…

Lightweight GIMP
Everything in moderation
Babe, you're in a world of hurt
Gettin' extreme Jim Beam
Manglehead heaven

Although these ratings are admittedly subjective, we hope they will prove useful.

And now, enjoy the comcs…

BARBARELLA

Following last December's spirited discussion of the classic, pseudo-GIMP movie Barbarella, Covers the Relentless kindly shared a digitized copy of the original comic which inspired it. Like Modesty Blaise (also filmed by a renowned director) and Phoebe Zeit-Geist (yet, if ever, to appear onscreen), these sexy, sixties heroines were among a number of decidedly risqué female comic characters who rose up from the underground to cavort (often without clothing) in mainstream publications. Although Wonder Woman suffered her share of peril and bondage, Barbarella and her contemporaries usually took things up a notch or two, though still sliding just under the censor's radar.

This Barbarella comic is beautifully rendered, using a variety of duotones to subdivide the narrative and capture a surreal, pop-art style similar to the film's. That said, Roger Vadim borrowed little else from the source. Aside from the titular character and the blind angel Pygar (who is crucified here as in the movie), only an eye-patched villainess known as The Queen, along with the famous bird torture scene link this version to Vadim's creation. Surprisingly, there is more sex and peril in the film than in the comic, but without the latter, there wouldn't have been any film at all.

SOLD!

Now that the once prolific (and sadly missed) Drawing Palace has been effectively dead and buried for over a decade, I've decided to post some of the site's earlier offerings under the assumption that no one currently holds the copyright. In this case, the artist (Hawkeye), who sold this comic to DP is, as far as I can tell, also inactive and not selling his work. Pretty much the entire Drawing Palace catalogue is available elsewhere on the 'net, but the comics often are incomplete as they were released piecemeal and frequently remained unfinished.

Hawkeye was one of the best DP artists, and Sold! is a rare completed comic among the few he published there. As with most titles at this GIMP-art site, the story is typically grim. In ancient Rome, an innocent female captive is sold into slavery without the courtesy of clothing or even a name. The “Iceni bitch” is repeatedly raped before being sent into the arena to fight against a trident-wielding gladiator. Miraculously she survives (barely), only to be painfully revived and thrown back into the ring. Her second bout is with a starving tiger, which leads to a predictably dire outcome.

SHARI IN CEMENT

An amuse-bouche for anyone who enjoyed watching Frank Sinatra swim with a buxom, platinum-haired corpse – not to mention a few sharks – in that old 1960's Tony Rome flick. Sure, this comic is only seven panels, but it features a peril fetish which, in my opinion, doesn't get the attention it deserves. Just try ordering this scenario as a custom video from PKF!

BUNNY GIRL CROTCH SPLITTING TORTURE!

With a title like that, you can make two safe assumptions about this comic. One… it's not likely to get a one-pepper rating. And two… it's Japanese. What's surprising is that some dissolute soul went to the trouble of translating this impressively warped story into English. Seriously, this one could be in Klingon and it would make just as much sense.

These guro-style hentai have quite a following in their home country, based on the many fan pages devoted to the genre. Outside Japan however, reactions are polarized to say the least. If you don't care for those googly-eyed anime characters skidding through pools of ink-splatter blood and gore, you may want to take a pass on this one. Then again, the less exaggerated artwork and the English text do make BGCST more accessible than some of these things in their original incarnations.

Still, this one features evil women dressed like Playboy club hostesses, mystery meat manjü, a cross-eyed bunny monster who likes to dig his three inch incisors into big boobs, and of course, lots of crotch splitting. Created by Kisirian, who apparently is the guro guru of this type of family entertainment. And remember, it's Japanese, so read the panels right to left.

BATDOLL IN PERIL

After I posted War Crime by Spike, two readers told me in no uncertain terms that they were not impressed. I thought the four-pepper rating might be the problem, but in fact it seems some folks think naked, abused Barbies aren't much of a turn-on. Who'd 'ave thunk it? Oh well… War Crime was intended as a one-off experiment, so unless someone wanted more Psycho-Ken vs. Victim-Stacie action, I wasn't planning to include other heroines from the Mattel universe in this section.

And then someone wanted more. Turns out no less a luminary than our forum moderator genuflected at my feet for three days until I agreed to post Batdoll in Peril, apparently one of his all-time favorite series. As if that weren't enough, Batdoll was created by GIMP regular and trivia sage Mr Anthony, who generously submitted the whole 79 panel epic. How could I refuse?

I'm not a superheroine aficionado, but even I have to, er… marvel at how well Mr A put this story together. From the sets, to the props, to the meticulous “ropework” – his attention to detail is superb. Unlike War Crime, Batdoll in Peril is relatively mild, although one character meets a gruesome though bloodless fate. As for more plastic peril in the future… um… we'll see.

EXECUTION BY MAFIA

Thanks to MadBob for sending me this light-hearted tale depicting a typical mafia execution of an undercover cop named Jennifer and her three (temporarily) bikini-clad friends (including a token porn star!). No one is going to mistake the artwork here for Caravaggio, but despite the rough edges, the minimalist panels in this strip go for the gusto.

The creator of Execution by Mafia is known as Vampire, and I have come across only one other of his stories, a similarly extreme comic entitled Execution by Gutting. He's obviously a heavyweight GIMPer, and prefers traditional pen-and-ink over the 3DG used by the majority of peril artists these days. Except for folks drawing Japanese Guro/Ryona stories, only a few western talents like Zerns, Cagri, Silvio Dante (and some of the hamstrung DOFantasy roster) continue to work with non-digital media. I wish there were more.

Note: Execution By Mafia has been reformatted to enhance readability and image quality, but the original text and drawings have not been altered

SATANIK AND KILLING

Like their hand-drawn fumetti cousins, adult “photonovelas” (also called fumetti in their day) were staples on Italian newsstands from the 1960's until the early 80's. PG-rated variants can be found to this day, but none are as popular as those which featured sadistic antiheroes like Killing, Satanik and Kriminal. Dressed in ill-fitting tights emblazoned with a dapper skeleton motif, these guys clearly missed the memo that said Halloween comes but once a year.

The title characters invariably tackle the forces of evil, but unlike their superhero brethren, they are psychopaths who save their most creative punishments for half-naked, evil wenches, several of whom populate each comic for the sole purpose of being tortured and killed. The stories were aimed at men who thought Mike Hammer was a wimp, and gleefully displayed as much sex and violence (usually together) as the times allowed. A bit bashful when it came to full nudity, the gorgeous starlets who played the victims still managed to display a lot of skin. More importantly, they were game to endure the most brutal (though not always convincing) ordeals.

This collection features three scenes excerpted from one Satanik and two Killing issues, all with original Italian text. The complete stories are both less elaborate and less interesting than comparable pen-and-ink fumetti, so I'm not inclined to translate these sweat-stained pulps. Besides, since a picture is worth a thousand words, these photo-comics don't really need 'em.

NO ESCAPE

Called Senza Scampo in Italian and Sans Retour (No Return) in French, this superbly rendered fumetto is a real treat despite its somewhat ambiguous titles. It's another restored and translated classic, based primarily on the Italian version because the Gauls had the gall to omit 15 panels. This installment of the reliably GIMPy Storie Blu series (a “special” issue no less) features not only the usual batshit WTF storyline (which you must read to appreciate), but enough extreme content for two titles.

Our heroine, Phyllis, is a would-be singer who wakes up one morning to face an intruder in her apartment. In short order she is robbed, tied to her bed, raped and assaulted by a horde of snakes. After freeing herself, Phyllis, not much worse for wear, showers and heads to the house of a friend who has a lead on a potential recording contract. Her friend also takes a few minutes to rape her. While Phyllis drives to her audition, she is attacked by a giant spider, but it only slows her down a little. She discovers that her “friend” and the talent agents are running a white slavery ring, and plan to sell her to their most sadistic clients. In a flash, Phyllis escapes to the basement where she is raped by a mud monster and stabbed by knife-wielding zombies. And it's not even noon yet!

Then some aliens show up and life for Phyllis really takes a turn for the worse.

TAKEN

Fans of Arcas, which must include virtually every GIMP-art buff in existence, will be thrilled to see this series of dazzling illustrations. So much more than just a “comic”, Taken must certainly be among the maestro's most exquisite and ambitious projects. Even if, like me, you've already seen the superlative artwork, you haven't enjoyed it in concert with accompanying text as presented here. That's right, it's an Arcas story with a detailed blow-by-blow (literally) narrative courtesy of his partner in crime, Mishmish.

The plot of Taken is simple and to the point. A nubile young blonde named Jessica, who comes equipped with the impossibly perfect body available only to the luckiest of 3DG babes, attracts the wrong type of attention and by the second panel, finds herself in the clutches of an unnamed captor. From here on, it's a downhill journey for the hapless victim, whose only crime is to look more ravishing than any woman has a right to. I won't reveal what's in store for the heroine, but suffice it to say that if you haven't seen this series before, you're in for some pleasant surprises.

And if you have, you can revel in it all over again, but now you also can read Mishmish describe Jessica's harrowing ordeal, adding a new level of detail to the incredible images.

QUEST FOR THE SUN JEWEL

If you enjoyed The Doomed Courier you'll likely love this recent public domain offering by the esteemed James McQuade. A professional comic artist for longer than many of us have been alive, McQuade was at the forefront of the underground revolution which transformed the medium half a century ago. Yeah, there was that other guy who doodled a cat named Fritz, but unlike many of his contemporaries, McQuade didn't shy away from darker subjects by hiding under an umbrella of hardcore sex. Sure, he did draw hardcore sex… it just happened to involve dead bodies.

I'm told this pen-and-ink master is now in his late 70's, so for him to create a new, free 149 page extension to his Misty series is unbelievably generous. QFTSJ was released with little fanfare, so I'm posting it here for those who may be unaware of its existence. It's clear McQuade has lost none of his virtuoso comic skills with age; both his drawing and prose seem better than ever. And his devotion to GIMP action remains undiminished.

Those familiar with the adventures of Misty and the sun jewel which has brought about the heroine's eternal damnation at the hands of countless villains will slip into this tale with relative ease. But even if you are new to the series, it won't matter. Just go with the story and enjoy Misty's incessant ordeals as she is repeatedly raped, tortured, killed… then miraculously revived or cloned to suffer all over again. The comic unfolds like Barbarella on steroids, and if that's not a good thing, I don't know what is.

THE ADVENTURES OF SWEET GWENDOLINE

Okay… she isn't exactly obscure, but when it comes to comic GIMP goddesses, there's none more classic and revered than Sweet Gwendoline by John Willie. This publication – which features a sample of Gwen's adventures as well as assorted stills – is so prized it's come out in several hardcover editions, the last of which is selling new for over $200. Willie (born John Couts in 1902) moved from photographing high-heeled, corset-clad models in the 1930's to more risqué BDSM artwork in the 40's. He was a highly skilled illustrator who launched the now fabled Bizarre magazine to showcase his work, inspiring later virtuosos like Eneg and Stanton.

Gwendoline made her debut in a long-running serial which first appeared in Wink magazine in 1947, continuing with two panels per issue until 1950. The sexy but hapless heroine, along with her libidinous “ally” Agent U69 (U89 in the censored versions)and arch-nemesis Sir Dystic D'Arcy, proved very popular, showing up in various girlie mags throughout the 50's. After Willie's death in 1962, the character was appropriated by other artists and at least one filmmaker. Although some tried to preserve her original innocence and naiveté, she was later depicted completely nude in hardcore scenes, and enduring progressively more extreme perils. These Gwen imposters had none of the charm of the original, who like real-life counterpart Bettie Page, has become a fetish icon.

MAISON DE CORRECTION “PRINCESSE MÉLANIE”

Or Princess Melanie in the Slammer, among other variants. Any fan of GIMP comics will need no introduction to Georges Pichard, another luminary in the field. Pichard (1920 – 2003) perhaps is best remembered for the classic Marie-Gabrielle de Saint-Eutrope, but he was prolific in a variety of genres, both fetish and non-fetish in nature.

Princess Melanie was published posthumously in 2012, and is less a story than a series of individual Pichard illustrations, supposedly depicting the various ordeals Melanie endures or observes while in the titular correctional institute. There is no dialogue or narrative, but for those who appreciate Pichard's idiosyncratic style, there are dozens of pictures of his voluptuous, disheveled victims to enjoy. The tortures they endure are often as clever as they are cruel, and the variety is quite amazing.

WAR CRIME

Does this qualify as a GIMP comic? You'd expect so as it's a series of images which depict the story of a female soldier overpowered by a Mid-Eastern baddie who beats, rapes and tortures her relentlessly. But the characters are portrayed by… dolls! As silly as that sounds, it plays like a comic (with no dialogue) and it works for me. So yes, I'm including it here.

Many years ago, a chap who went by the moniker Spike ran a web site called Plastic Penetrations, on which every few months would appear the bloody obliteration of some ill-fated distaff refugee from Toys-R-Us. After a few dozen synthetic sweeties bravely succumbed to dolly demolition, the site (and Spike) suddenly vanished, never to return. This dolls-of-the-damned approach to GIMP has been used by others (notably GIMP regular Mr Anthony, and Cannon, whose Dollhouse of Horrors can still be linked to from this site's main page), but in the esoteric annals of Barbie™ barbarity, nobody beats this guy for unbridled plastic prejudice. Sid Phillips was a wimp.

NIKKI'S FINAL MISSION

Originally, I wasn't going to post this comic here, not because it's one of my own or because of the dodgy quality, but rather because it's been up at DFN for years. Then one of my online pals surprised me by saying she'd only just found it, and since the crossover traffic between DFN and the GIMP seems low, I figured what the hell… I might as well plunk it here as well. Besides, I'm running low on material.

The story came from about a year's worth of dabbling with Poser and other 3D programs, none of which I really did get the hang of. So yeah… noobieville at best. But after some encouragement by my aforementioned friend, I decided to add Nikki to the comics section as a five pepper indulgence for the manglehead crowd. The plot is pretty basic. Following three botched attempts by doomed predecessors, Agent Nikki is sent to square off against a sadistic traitor, a busty cyborg and a sardonic robot. Our heroine is quickly outmatched and suffers a long string of increasingly brutal punishments. I tried to keep the style deliberately cartoonish, but I'm sure this series nonetheless will prove too grisly for most folks.

AMAZON'S DEATH STRUGGLE (VOL IV) – “THE FINISH”

You've got to be proud of your work when you choose a pseudonym for your pseudonym. Known as Nom D. Guerre (yeah, right) on the cover of this Mutrix-like publication, the artist drew most of his fetish comics in the 1970's and early 80's under the alias RAM. Best known for illustrating girl-fights between enormously endowed amazons, RAM also flirted with femme-dom themes and BDSM. Like much of his work, Death Struggle features dynamic artwork emphasizing the blows by portraying the assailant's fist buried to the wrist in her victim's flesh. There's no text, no bondage, no sex, and very little blood, but just try telling the loser she didn't endure any merciless peril during this fight.

THE SLAVE AND THE LASH

A couple of months ago, Flinstone requested some work by Lou Kagan, so I've included this title. I don't know much about the artist other than both House of Milan and B&D Pleasures released a number of nicely printed glossies featuring his comics in the 1980's. I bought a few of these at the time, including this one – primarily for the artwork. The stories proved too consensual for my liking, but that was back in the day when almost all GIMP producers (excluding ZFX perhaps) were as nervous about NC action as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Still, there are lots of Kagan's comics on the 'net today, so it appears he still has many fans.

LE REMÈDE SOUVERAIN

Based on limited feedback, fumetti seem to be the most popular additions to this section, so (with some reluctance) I restored and translated another one. Most of this issue was taken from the French version (which was in better shape than the Italian), but have no fear, I've also included the 20 pages censored from the original, so unlike many of the extreme Elvifrance releases, this one is complete. The title translates literally to The Sovereign Remedy, which in context of the narrative, makes no sense whatsoever. A more appropriate English interpretation is The Ultimate Cure.

As usual, the plot is more than a little strange, and like most of the Storie Blu series, it comes across like a Twilight Zone episode with dollops of sex and violence. It's difficult to describe this one without spoiling it, so just jump right in and put your sense of disbelief on pause. Then make sure you stick around for the twist ending. Finally, if anyone recognizes either the artist or the writer, please let me know.

ISLAND OF CAPTIVE GIRLS

Another tasty morsel of 1950's nostalgia, this time by the incomparable Gene Bilbrew, who used the pseudonym Eneg (Gene backwards) for much of his fetish work. Not only was Bilbrew a pen-and-ink virtuoso, his bondage comics featured elaborate stories involving a variety of characters (usually female) plotting against each other, often with innocent victims caught up in the action. Though Eneg's work was mild by today's standards, like his contemporary Stanton, he used cruel and bizarre perils to make up for a lack of nudity and explicit violence. Most of us weren't alive when Island of Captive Girls was published by Irving Klaw, but I think it's still sexy as hell today. As for the story, suffice it to say that a pair of busty survivors of a plane crash find themselves on an island, where they become the unwilling pawns of two sadistic Amazon tribes. I was surprised to learn that Eneg, whose comics were as white-bread as they come, was African-American. Sadly he died of a heroin overdose at 50.

LA GROTTA DEI TOTEM

In another mind-warping fumetto, a greedy alien, his apparently impotent uncle, a vengeful Indian maiden, and an erratic space-time transportation device all plague two innocent daughters of a 19th century rancher who massacred the Indian girl's tribe. And if that description doesn't pique your interest, nothing will. This is the first of the Terror Blu special editions. The title translates to The Cave of the Totems and it's one of my favorite fumetti. Illustrated by the great Lorenzo Lepori, almost every panel features sex or violence, and often both. The story is first-rate, weird and GIMPish enough to satisfy most enthusiasts of the genre. This restoration and translation is based on the Italian original. There's also a (complete) French version released by Elvifrance as Série Verte #148, but for now, the only English adaptation is available here at the GIMP. Enjoy!

BARNYARD BARBARIANS

Don Lomax is an acclaimed artist who is best known for publishing comics featuring adult, underground and military themes. I remember some of his work appearing in Heavy Metal in the 1970's. Although Lomax does not specialize in the peril fetish, his female characters frequently are strong, conniving bitches who – good or evil – often find themselves in rather dire circumstances, usually bereft of clothing. Barnyard Barbarians is a rare and atypical Lomax title which seems to be aimed specifically at an audience of GIMP heavyweights. The single purpose of the story's two heroines, helpless and innocent for a change, is to suffer the relentless and savage abuse of their tormentors. Like the women in most Lomax art, the victims in this comic are remarkably well padded where it counts, but their ample super-structures are not enough to protect them from the sort of mistreatment they endure here. Be warned… this puppy comes by it's five-pepper rating honestly.

WITCH

Without a cover page or more information, I'm not sure of the exact title of this textless comic by MIA artist, Roujin X, also known as just Roujin. However, neither text nor title is needed to explain this traditional tale cataloging the tribulations of a suspected witch. Most GIMPers know there is little variation to the standard tale: a young beauty is suspected of sorcery, imprisoned, stripped, tortured, raped, forced to confess, publicly humiliated and BATS. In this 23 panel comic, Roujin X covers all the required bases using his distinct and accomplished style of illustration.

BONDAGE ISLAND

The brilliant pen-and-ink artist known simply as Lee created a number of comics published by B&D Pleasures back in the heyday of Bill Majors. At the time, Lee's work was retro. Today, it's downright quaint. But it's still entertaining, especially if you like latex outfits and hoods. There's a decent plot, femme-dom characters and some outstanding lines: “for exquisite, imaginative and truly painful torment, you just can't beat the Spanish Inquisition!” Of course, we already knew that no one beats the Spanish Inquisition! Or something like that.

THE CAPTIVE PRINCESS

This short series of illustrations is from the late, lamented line of Mutrix digests popular in the 1970's. As with other Mutrix publications, the original booklet contained a story as well as the accompanying pictures. Most likely the text was badly misspelled and plunked out on a forty year old Remington, but I'm sure it still would be fun to read today. If anyone has a copy, please let us know. In the meantime, here are the pics, lovingly drawn by an unknown artist who, to be honest, is destined to remain so forever.

FATAL FINISHED FEMALE FIGHTERS (VOL. 1)

Someone asked me what sort of comic would merit a five pepper rating. What could top the dire GIMP action depicted in some of the four pepper selections? Well, here's your answer. If you like twisted and brutal scenes, this one should satisfy your craving. Need I even add that it's Japanese? The text remains mercifully untranslated, not that there's much that isn't made clear by the cheery and colorful artwork.

THE ADVENTURES OF LILLY

Poor, innocent Lilly falls into the clutches of her evil Uncle Omar. Will G.I. Johnny be able to save her? Like Bondage Island, this is played mostly for laughs, but the GIMP action does get pretty vicious at times. After all, the artist is the inimitable Roscoe, who is not always known for showing even this much restraint. I had seen portions of The Adventures of Lilly on various sites over the years, but at last I came across the whole thing. I'm not sure this one is all that rare or hard to find, but Roscoe's style is truly impressive and as a GIMP comic, it stands well above much of the competition… so here it is.

JOLANKA: DELIRIO PER UNA SCHIAVO

These pages are a sample from number 9 in the long running Jolanka series from Italy. This fumetto was released in 1971, but try as I might, I could not track down who was illustrating these color comics at the time. I did find the cover to accompany Klingsor's scans, which excerpt what seems to be two short segments from the complete story. The title translates as Delirium of a Slave. The first segment, in which a slave is forced to watch the torture and execution of three women, is heavy stuff for 1971, even in Italy. Translation and restoration by Fritz.

REMOTE CONTROL

Creator's Intro:

This piece was done in the middle of my trilogy work with collaborator, Mishmish. He was feeling a bit crispy from our marathon productions and needed to take a breather. But my engines were still going at full RPM so I decided to do a textless outing on my own, using Mishmish as a sounding board for the story (such as it is). The goal here was to make something that felt like a Mishmish story, but was largely my own creation.

The concept with this story is that a rich, sadistic sociopath has his eyes on a certain blonde beauty, but he doesn't want the liability of getting his hands dirty. Thus he employs a thug to grab her as she leaving a local swimming hole and drag her off to a prepared location outfitted, with cameras to monitor and guide the action. The thug follows his observing boss' instructions and puts the poor girl through her paces: a regimen of rape, torture, and a rather final conclusion (as per the stories of the Mishmish trilogy).

DATA RETRIEVAL

Creator's Intro:

This textless tale follows the perils of a woman during a home invasion. She is high-level administrator with an environmental studies group and has just completed a report on studies whose implications mean trouble for the fossil fuel energy sector. But a mole in her company has leaked knowledge of the report to her petrochem masters. They hired an operative to break into her home and steal the report from her laptop so that they can get a jump on formulating a response.

Unfortunately for her she has the file password protected, so the operative tortures her to get the required info. In the end he leaves her in a perilous, potentially fatal situation, but the ultimate outcome is left more to the readers desires/imagination.

I rather prefer this kind of “cliffhanger” ending to the more definite, final climax of the Mishmish stories. I think that was one of the drivers in creating this story – to do something that was more in my own style/flavor after completing my collaborative trilogy.

THE DOOMED COURIER

There's a very poor quality version of this great James McQuade comic floating around the 'net, but after years of procrastination, I finally scanned a much clearer set of images from my original hardcopy source. I still remember buying this glossy 'zine at a fleapit bookstore in Chicago the day after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. McQuade is well known as a comic artist whose professional work extends beyond GIMP, but anyone who has read his Misty series and other sado-erotic tales will know where his heart lies. In my opinion, Doomed Courier is one of his best efforts. It's certainly among his most extreme. Enjoy this heart-warming story of innocent, busty Fiona, a patriot who miraculously survives a half dozen ordeals which leave virtually every female she encounters dead, until… well, the title kind of gives away the ending. If you find the text a bit hard to read in slide-show format, download the zip file of JPGs for optimal viewing.

BIZARRE MUSEUM

This relatively tame selection is of course a classic series by the legendary Eric Stanton. I don't know where it was first printed, but I'm pretty sure it didn't appear in any of the numerous Stantoon issues the artist self-published over the decades. Judging by the style and content (no nudity, no male characters, retro hairdos and outfits), I'm guessing Bizarre Museum is around 50 years old, maybe more. But what it lacks in sex and violence, it makes up for by presenting some of the most offbeat and creative perils ever shown. Where else can you see time-release venomous snakes in a block of ice suspended over a victim? The museum angle is a bit of a stretch, but this stuff is truly bizarre.

NAZI SEX

A rather grim outing by an unknown artist who likely was off his meds when he drew this. There's no text or dialogue, nor is any needed here. The comic was originally published in one of those digest sized, Mutrix-style compendiums found on the bottom shelf at the very back of your local adult bookstore in the late 1970's. If those stores still existed, Nazi Sex probably would still be there today. Instead, you'll find it here in the GIMP comics section.

THE TYRANT OF HYWUNZ

A Terror Blu fumetto (#115 in the series) from Italy, restored and translated into English. This isn't among the more extreme titles released as the European publishers increased the sex and violence in later issues, but it doesn't shy away from some pretty explicit GIMPage when required… which, unfortunately for our heroine Margaret, is quite often. New in town and applying for a job, she finds herself on what can best be described as the opposite of a stairway to heaven. Rumors that Ralphus modelled for the character who guides Margaret to her destiny are, to the best of my knowledge, completely true.

THE FIENDS AND THE THREE STRIPPERS

This three part story introduces the evil triumvirate known simply as The Fiends. After capturing a trio of hapless strippers, they proceed to torment their voluptuous victims using a variety of creative tortures which leave the women considerably worse for wear. The origins of this comic and its two sequels are unknown, as is the name of whoever cleaned up the original artwork and text, but it is an outstanding example of extreme GIMP art which predates the web by many years.

THE FIENDS AND THE SECRET SERVICE AGENT

The Fiends are at it again. This time Vicki Vane, a beautiful secret agent, falls into their clutches, only to endure water torture, a rubber truncheon beating, the rack, and much more. Though it is made clear early in the story that Vicki does not survive her ordeal, we don't get to witness the worst of it as the final chapter of this three part tale is missing. As with the previous comic, both the original and restoration artists are unknown.

THE FIENDS AND THE SOCIETY HOSTESS

In the last of the Fiends comics known to exist, a “society hostess” named Sandra becomes their comely target. Sadly, only the second part of this trilogy seems to have survived, so we miss out on both the lead-in and the “thrilling climax“ promised in the final frame of part 2. Still, Sandra does not get off easy in this segment, so it definitely is worth a look. Once again, no artist info is available.

FRAUENSCHREI AUS DEM ORIENT

Despite the title, which translates roughly as A Woman's Screams in the Orient, this bit of nasty business takes place in the Middle East. A female spy finds herself apprehended by a sadistic sheik who interrogates her mercilessly for the name of her contact. After enduring numerous tortures, she finally breaks. On the way to her trial, she briefly escapes, only to be recaptured and made to suffer more severe punishments. The original artist is unknown. Restoration and translation to English is by Fritz, who, because of a few missing panels, has taken some minor liberties for clarity and continuity.
