john: Are you referring to this picture? That’s Jane von Detlefson showing us the aftermath of shooting the scene in which she’s roasted on a spit. It’s not part of the movie.

-------

What better way to ring in the New Year than with a movie review? First a disclaimer: The version discussed below is in Italian with no subtitles. Yep, that means I have no idea what the characters are saying. Even so, it’s pretty easy to tell what’s going on just by the action, facial expressions and tone of the voices. So I’ll give it my best shot.

-------

Last House on the Beach (1978)

aka La Settima Donna

Movie Info

Following the 1969 Manson Family murders, lots of movie-makers (especially of the grindhouse/drive-in variety) jumped on the marketable notion that threats to one’s domestic security can come from anywhere and at any time. So it is with this one. A group of high school girls and their chaperone/drama teacher Christina (Florinda Balkan) have occupied an isolated, school-owned seaside retreat house to polish up their staging of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Meanwhile, a trio of bank robbers drive down the oceanfront road looking for a place to hide out for a few days. There’s a handsome one, an idiot and a wacko. Two barge into the front entrance, wielding weapons, while the third checks out the basement.

A rather incongruous scene develops as the pair of thugs interrupts a full dress rehearsal. Among other things, the animal-head costumes deprive us of the reactions of a few of the girls.

Meanwhile, the housemaid, who is engaged in ironing elsewhere in the house, spies what’s happening and tries to make an escape. The thug who entered through the basement blocks her path, slaps her around, pushes her down on the table and smashes her face with the steam iron.

Back upstairs, one of the girl’s asks to go to the bathroom. Once there, she promptly strips down to change her clothes. (Thank you) The wacko steps into the bathroom seizes the naked girl and stuffs a washcloth in her mouth. But before he can do the deed, she grabs a sharp-handled comb and plunges it into his thigh.

(The GIMP Manual's chapter on Home Invasion is very clear in its warnings about certain rooms of the house where sharp objects may be available to the victim, such as the kitchen, garage and bathroom).

His buddies take the wounded warrior into Christina’s room, where they discover a white habit; yes, the teacher is a nun in civilian clothing. Just for fun, they take all the hostages into one room where they rip Christina’s clothes off and make the girls watch while they force her to put on her uniform. Later, they get Christina to take them to a storage room and unlock a booze cabinet. As she does so, they begin to grope her, force her down on a table, and menace her with a knife. What happens next is not shown, but some type of sexual assault is implied.

That night, the guys drag a lovely, dark-haired girl out of her bed for some action. Christina hears the commotion, and upon investigation, finds them stripping the girl. When Christina intervenes, she’s slapped around and forced to watch as two of them bend the girl over a couch and take turns reaming her from behind. The scene is shot in slo-mo, and the look of agony on the girl’s face is pretty hot as she stares pleadingly at her teacher. IMO this is the best scene in the movie.

Next day, two of the girls hatch a plan. The cute blond runs in one direction, while the comb-wielding brunette tries to make it to the beach swim to a nearby shore. But they are both caught, and the brunette is now in bigger trouble.

She is made to sit down on the couch with the stupid one and the wounded one in the room. The injured man has a large stick that he’s been using as a walking cane. The first one sticks his hands up her skirt rips off her panties and then puts a puny-looking tape gag on her mouth. Then the guy with the walking stick approaches her. The next shot is a pussy-cam view as he slips the stick under her skirt and then rams it home. We see the girl’s baby blues open wide. Later, Christina comes upon the aftermath of the assault on the now-dead girl.

The rest of the movie involves the moral dilemma Christina faces and her attempts to expunge these fiends from the house.

Movie minuses: There’s no bondage and the two gags employed are flimsy. Plenty of violations of the GIMP manual. In between the good scenes, there is a lot of dialogue, which is tedious if you don’t know the language. But other reviews have said that the English dubbed version is pretty bad. Subtitles might have highlighted nasty talk, assuming there is any. I didn’t like the cop-out on the rape of Florinda Balkan’s character.

Movie pluses: Even without bondage, there is a pervasive mean-spirited tone to this flick. A nun is slapped, assaulted, forced into a humiliating stripping scene and compelled to witness the rape of a pupil. Teenage girls are groped, threatened, brutalized and murdered. The acting is good, most of the girls are attractive, and the movie itself is a cut above drive-in fare in its production values. Tension permeates the proceedings.

As for Florinda Balkan, I will say that she looks pretty damn fine for a nun. (The nuns in my Catholic school never looked this good). And she gives a very strong and gritty performance.

Yeah, home invasion has become a cliché by now, and it’s been done more effectively in other flicks. But overall, this is not a bad hour-and-a-half, as long as you’re not expecting I Spit on Your Grave or Last House on the Left. My grade: C+.

YikYakker: I'm barely into 2011 in any way that could be described as properly functioning, and yet I've already managed to get through reading my first review.

Well done. Your assessment of Last House on the Beach was well written and a fun read. It sounds like there's no skimping, as Jane might say, when it comes to depictions of attractive women having their clothes stripped off. The question, ultimately, is whether or not I think the slo-mo rape will ring my bell.

I did enjoy the original Last House on the Left more than some other GIMPers, so this type of movie might be worth a look.

Happy New Years, my fellow GIMPers. Hope everybody made it though the celebrations safely.

Jane von Detlefson: Very nice of you to stop in, if only to pick up your 2 Ralphus Awards (since I don't deliver to Bolivia). Wow, quite a scary scene you went though with the civil unrest in the city. Glad you weren't attacked, but getting tear gassed is bad enough. It's easy to just skim over news from some other country, but when you've got people you know living there, it makes you stop and pay attention. I found some video of the riots, which I'm putting in my Homepage URL.

Be careful out there! We want you safe and in one piece so they can burn you at the stake.

-----------------

Elkcreek: Glad we could get the reviews posted for you. Thanks for taking the time to write those for us. I'm not sure there's enough bondage in those 2 particular Giga movies for me to whip out the credit card, but I'll say one thing...that Azumi Mizushima is a doll baby! Between her and Rio, I've discovered a couple of Japanese actresses to watch for in the future. BTW, I didn't mention it before, but based on your earlier review of Stop The Bitch Campaign 3, I did check out that film and was quite impressed.

Here's the direct links for your latest reviews:

-----------------

YikYakker: Another great review, thanks. But how is it you keep ending up with DVDs that are either edited or without subtitles? Netflix carries the dubbed version, and I think you would like it a lot more if you could hear the dialogue like I did. Your speculation that the tone was mean-spirited was right on target. For instance, in the scene where the brunette cutie is on the couch and the bad guy is sticking his hand under her skirt, he was checking to see if she's still a virgin (she is). And the wacko says, "I know how to take care of her. She's the bitch who tried to castrate me". So when he impales her pussy with the stick, that's to make sure she loses her virginity...the hard way. To me, those 2 scenes with her were the best ones in the movie.

Thanks Ralphus for the 2010 Year End GIMP Awards!

Here's hoping 2011 will be even GIMPier!

I don't normally do New Year's resolutions, but I think I will commit to doing a special GIMP resolution list this year;

  • I resolve to do my part to help the economy by spending on some GIMP-worthy material.
  • I resolve to reward GIMP producers who produce products with themes and scenarios that I like with those monies.
  • I resolve to pay it forward with reviews!

Elkcreek, thanks for the info on Giga films. A lot of them seem to be concentrating on the rapes over the torture -- it's nice to have a list of those that get their priorities right!

Happy New Year! Dig the website, I discovered "GIMP" as a 10/11 year-old, living in Israel (1963-66). They had special morning picture shows for kids, the staple fare of which was low-budget Italian "sword-and-sandal"/"peplum". We sat there in the dark, smacking our lips, feasting on the aesthetics of torchlight gleaming on the sweating flesh of scantily-clad slavegirls, as they were stretched on the rack, or subjected to some other fiendish torture. I'm Old School - give me a sweaty slave girl in a tattered loincloth and a well-stocked dungeon and I'm happy.

You might enjoy two action-adventure novels of mine: "Cool Cat" and "Drums of the Lost Gods"(published by Midnight Marquee Press - www.midmar.com). "Cool Cat" is inspired by the cult exploitation pics of the 70s (mortal combat; electro-shock; the rack; whipping; and other perils)."Drums of the Lost Gods" is an homage to the vintage "pulps" of the 1930s (girl-girl mortal combat; whipping; human sacrifice; and a whole host of weird menaces). The books are available on Amazon, but it's best to go direct to the publishers.

I'm currently working on a sequel to "Cool Cat", called "Cat and the Devil", in which Cat goes on the road with a rock band who are in league with Satan. I write for fun, hoping that people will have fun with it.

Actually, in their best films, I find Giga does an excellent job of getting both the rapes and the tortures right. Some of their most satisfying depictions of rapes show the victim convincingly restrained. Meanwhile, the tortures tend to focus on stuff like harsh whippings and electrical shocks, which are also very effective.

The one caution, for people who are obsessed with the whole 'reality' thing, is that the villains in Giga movies often aren't humanoid in appearance. But as Lisa Kinkaid and her teddy bear once proved, GIMP pleasures can be found in the strangest places.

Happy 2011 to the GIMP board!

Ralphus and A Canadian: Excellent year-end lists, as usual. I thought that Graphic Sexual Horror should have gotten some sort of mention for outstanding documentary. A real thought-provoking piece of work. (And I thought Hobart's post was funnier than Bondage Dave's.)

----------

Elkcreek: Azumi Mizushima is indeed smoking hot! Thanks for the reviews. I think I'll give Giga another look.

----------

YikYakker: Congratulations on being the first reviewer of 2011. An entertaining review, but too bad Last House on the Beach fell short in a few areas. And yes, I remember many of those ridiculously thin tape gags of the 1970s. I think the actresses must have had a tough time just keeping those gags on their lips.

----------

Dan Leissner: Welcome to the forum. It's interesting that in most countries, the TV shows in our youths were filled with gorgeous and sometimes scantily-clad damsels in distress. This could bring up the old nature-versus-nurture debate on our proclivities, and I still believe I was born this way, but I think TV has been a huge influence on fine-tuning my preferences for GIMPage.

----------

MrD: Those are good resolutions and ones that we should all follow. They will also be easier and funner for me to keep than my usually hollow promises of adopting a healthier lifestyle and being nicer to people.

Sorry I've been away from the board lately (been lurking, not writing). I've been overrun with RL concerns for the past month or so, and no, it wasn't just the holiday hullabaloo. I do hope everyone had a happy festive season, and I wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2011.

Now that it is a new year, I'll resolve to post a bit more often - though looking over recent activity here, the place hardly needs much help: lots of excellent reviews and discussion, not to mention all those wonderful Maleficarum updates. Great stuff indeed.

And of course, thanks to our charming yet evil little host for my Ralphus award. Very unexpected that - and for so few contributions no less. Now I really must do more to live up to the accolade. BTW, the link was spot-on... my alter ego makes me the only guy around here who's shorter than the moderator.

But first, a few things to catch up on…

Several weeks ago JohnM wrote:

What I am beginning to realize is I cannot please both the necro fetish community and the Gimp community.

I beg to differ. As much as either of these fetish groups can be called communities, they certainly are not mutually exclusive. In fact, I can honestly consider myself a member of both. Most of us who hang out here enjoy watching a female victim suffer torture, rape, humiliation, and as one wag in Barbarian Queen said, "a great deal of discomfort". For some folks, that is enough; for others, like me, the peril extends to the girl's ultimate demise. Although I've enjoyed thousands of GIMP scenes in which the victim ultimately survives, I find them far less satisfying than those in which the heroine is doomed.

Of course there are those who want their girls to endure quick deaths (or be dead from the get-go), with almost no suffering or even sexual torment beforehand, but they make up only one part of the necro group and few are likely to spend much time on this board. So in fact there are three "communities": peril with no death, peril with death, and death with no (or limited) peril. Since all the PKF and Basement clips fall in the latter two categories, you'll never really please the peril-only folks, but there are still many of us who enjoy or don't care about the victim's death. If this were not so, you wouldn't be in business.

So please don't think GIMPers who don't want necro are wired all that differently from those who do. It's just another distinction within the overall GIMP community - no different than the rape/torture debate, the blood/no blood contention, and so on. You can't please 'em all with one clip, so thrill us with variety.

And JohnM also wrote:

I am not sure I belong here and apologize for what might seem like a lack of understanding of the fetish.

Honestly, if you don't belong here, I don't know who does.

I know Elkcreek is the resident expert on all things GIGA, but let me chime in to say that there are quite a few of their videos which focus on torture rather than rape (though granted, in the seemingly endless array of GIGA titles, forced sex is the usual comeuppance for the female lead). The Heroine Tobatsu (or "suppression") line incorporates a lot of non-sexual perils (incessant beating, whipping, electro-shock, branding, and a curious predilection for deadly green slime). Blood and wounds are minimal, but there's lots of bondage, limited nudity and the girls are often (but not always) tortured to death. There are over 50 titles in the Tobatsu series. You can preview them all (with sample clips) at the GIGA site by entering TBB in the search field.

If the Heroine Tobatsu films aren't brutal enough for you, there's also a more limited Hard Heroine Suppression line (TBBH), which features fountains of blood, impalement, amputation, as well as all the other fun stuff in the regular Tobatsu series. GIGA/Zen subsidiary Zeus also has some incredibly OTT torture videos (check out the JHZD and JSSD series among others). Unfortunately Zeus material is very difficult to get outside of Japan (their site blocks out-of-country downloads). Some Zeus films also feature realistic (as opposed to superheroine) storylines, so they are worth seeking out.

There are other GIGA videos which highlight torture rather than rape, but they are sometimes hard to spot, so many thanks to Elkcreek for his informative reviews on the ones he's found. As stated above, I'm long overdue for a contribution, so I'll try to add some of my own soon.

* * * * *

Finally, if the torturer vs. torturess poll is still active, let me be one of the last to cast my vote. Although it seems clear the majority prefer a male in the role, I can honestly say it does not matter nearly as much as how cruel and menacing the person playing the part is. I have watched both men and women torment their captives with about as much zeal and villainy as Barney Fife, and frankly that is what ultimately kills the scene for me, not the sex of the character. Of the admittedly few films I've seen featuring a torturess, Ilsa is of course the gold standard. And then there's the fact that Dyanne Thorne is a lot easier on the eyes than Seamus O'Brien. So for me, all else being equal, I'll give the nod to a (suitably alluring) woman.

That's true. I would put myself firmly in the "don't care" category.

I don't go out of my way looking for movies that include death scenes. Having said that, I'm not bothered if a movie shows the victim or victims dying.

One of my favorite series of films, the Rape Investigation series produced by Attackers, always includes at least one heroine being killed before the movie ends.

Name: Floggomaniac

When I was in grade school I had spontaneous fantasies about girls getting whipped which engendered certain visceral reactions. At the time I wasn't aware if others had these same fantasies but I was able to have them manifested in certain movies with GIMP whipping scenes:

Tarzan and the Slave Girl/Denise Darcel;
Return To Treasure Island/Dawn Addams;
The Black Pirates/Toni Gerry;
Fair Wind To Java/Vera Ralston;
Land Of The Pharaohs/Joan Collins and others.

Later there was:

The Mongols/Antonella Lualdi and soon thereafter the "sadie-massies" and "flaggies" by Dave Friedman and his contemporaries such as
The Ramrodder /Kathy Williams;
The Body Of A Female/ unknown;
Love Camp 7/Maria Lease:
Poor Cecily/Angela Field;
Six Guns for Six Women, aka, The Last Sundown/Antoinette Maynard and a bunch of others.

There were foreign films such as Isabella Duchessa dei Diavoli/Brigett Skay (released in this country as Ms. Stiletto) based on Italian Fumetti which contained a lot of S&M; The Angelique Series many of which contained a whipping scene as did the French Novels it was based on by Anne and Serge Golon. The series starred the incredibly beautiful Michele Mercier. And of course the movies of Jess Franco and Jean Rollin. And don't forget those Sand and Sandal movies on TV that sometimes had whipping scenes.

As a young adolescent I used to visit second hand book and magazine shops and purchased paperback adventure and historical novels with well described whipping scenes as well as used men's magazines which had art and stories reflecting the whipped GIMPs. It took some time for me to realize that algolagnia resides in the collective unconscious and more people than I could imagine are bewitched by it. It results in an obsessive/compulsive frame of mind.

I am monomaniacal about the whipping of females. I realize that others may be multi-focused in their pursuits. My ideal is a beautiful female arms overhead pendant at a whipping post or just dangling at least stripped to the waist but naked preferred, being whipped on the back but ass and upper thighs are acceptable. Frontal whipping does not evoke as strong a response but suffices. However any bare back whipping will do. Caning does not work that well for me but there are a few I've seen that do the trick. Piercing, burning and other harsher means do not stimulate an interest. Certain brandings can be exciting. I concede that the algolagnic demon can possess each in a unique fashion with various manifestations.

I enjoy watching the GIMP being stripped and having her wrists tied above to the shackles on the whipping post or the hanging chain or rope. The frightening look on her face as she realizes the flogging that she will receive teases the imagination. Next comes the grasping of the whip handle (I prefer the cat of nine tails but any whip is quite acceptable) by the punisher. The punisher (I do prefer a male as he usually can deliver harder strokes) raises the whip high above the shoulder, strikes as the whip swishes through the air and lands with a definitive sound of leather on the soft skin raising crimson welts while the GIMP cries out with the sensing of the lash her face revealing the perceived pain. Rhythmically in a measured pattern this process recurs until the punishment is completed. The GIMP is taken down and led away her whip marks in full display.

With the onset of the Internet a world of opportunity for realizing the desideratum opened. Through the web I have been able to fulfill quite completely my childhood and adolescent fantasies. I have been able to view the content that the many sites offer. I have had sensory overload from such sites as pain4fem, Pain Gate, Whipped Women, Kshara, Spanking Server, NuWest/Leda and of course The Red Feline which I came upon a dozen of years ago and have seen all of their releases all of which have superlative whipping scenes. Not counting Jane von D's performances my favorite is Crux Bride II. I must thank JJ profusely for his understanding and development of these themes.

Obviously I was programmed in my childhood with this appetence and on the advice of several sages I was told not to try to stifle it as it was part of me. So it goes.

Some of my musings are: How common is algolagnia? With all the sites on the Internet it appears to be not uncommon. Why do the women act out in these scenes? Some obviously pursue it because it fulfills their needs. Some however seem to do it for money to get by on and still others seem to do it to pay for their drug habit. Actually it doesn't matter as in the end there is a bruised body.

Anyway these are my thoughts at the beginning of the new year. I have several acquaintances who follow the scene in the same manner as I do and we share. I'm curious as to how this strikes you as a contributor.

I checked out your site, but unless I'm doing something wrong, the page with all the movies you said you shot was blank. Let us know when you fix that page, because I'm sure we'd be interested in what you have to offer.

---------------

Fritz: Good to see you back. When you show up, you're as good as we have for intelligent, well thought-out posts. You deserved the award. Maybe this will encourage you to stick around this time. We need you more often, especially since John Galt tends to disappear mysteriously and stay gone indefinitely. It looks like he's doing it again, right before he teased us with his promised review of Delila Darling's new movie with Hardcore Abductions.

---------------

Floggomaniac: Great post, thank you. You sound like a true whipping fan. The first thing I have to say is that we're missing a few entries in the Whipping Scenes Database. Had caps from most of your movies but not all. I should also mention we have clips from quite a few of those same films in the actual database.

The next thing I noticed was "Algolagnia". What? Never heard of that word. I had to look it up online. A "sexual tendency which is defined by deriving sexual pleasure and stimulation from physical pain." Oh, is that all? Good, I'm glad it's nothing serious.

I'm no scientist, but I've heard that pleasure and pain are closely connected. Jane von Detlefson posted here recently saying she liked to be tortured. I'm sure a lot of these women who do this sort of thing do it because they like the sensation of being whipped, having their nipples clamped, etc. This Japanese chick Scrum in the Pain Gate movie I just reviewed had needles run though her tits, pussy and ass. Some women just really enjoy pain.

When I interviewed Blakemore, I asked him about a scene where a chick took a hay hook up her pussy and got suspended in the air by it. Here's what he said: " I scratched an itch that she had always had. She had fantasies as a pubescent girl of bondage and torture and she liked it."

Obviously, a lot of them make these movies for the money, but I doubt the money is so good that they would allow themselves to be sexually tortured if they didn't get off on it at least a little bit.

I **love** the TBBH movies. There's one where the heroine is gored by a one-horned beast (the horn comes out just under her breasts) that his my buttons every time!

About the only things I don't like about Giga: They take too long to get the girl topless, especially those darn helmets; and the villains spend FAR too much time talking and not beating or whipping the cute girl they've captured.

I picked up "Great Investigation in two rape anal rape" (although not called that) from Video Mayhem, and it's pretty good. I would have raped and killed the "tough girl" first -- the others would be easy to control after that. But it had a nice beating death as well as some fun whippings.

I had the same problem with the Kinky Bitch site, but didn't say anything as I wasn't sure if this was another issue that was unique to my computer. In this case, it seems there is definitely a problem with the web page.

I hope we hear when it is fixed, as I would also be interested in learning more about Emalia's movies.

Brutus: Many thanks for the welcome. Don’t know about “nature vs nurture”: but that lurid imagery of dungeons and slave girls was imprinted on our gleeful 10-year-old minds when they were at their most impressionable and it brings out my inner child to this day.

It wasn’t TV, those were special morning cinema shows for kids, during the school holidays. It was quite a culture shock, when my family moved from Israel to the UK, in 1966. In the UK, the “Saturday Morning Pictures” really were kids’ shows, made by the Children’s Film Foundation – a far cry from “peplum” – I was hugely disappointed.

However, it was in the UK, in the Swinging Sixties, that I first experienced the true magic of the finest phrase in the English language – “bikini-clad”. While at the movies with my parents, I saw the trailer for the spy flick “Deadlier Than The Male” (Elke Sommer and Sylva Koscina); and “Thunderball” was the first Bond film that I saw on the big screen.

On a neighbour’s TV, there was “The Avengers”; I made the acquaintance of the delightful Emma Peel, still the ultimate woman for me; no one ever looked more fetching in bondage.

My education in “GIMP” was rounded off in my teens by the discovery of the “Men’s Adventure” magazines – “Soft Nudes For The Nazi’s Doktor Horror!” – those guys had read my mind. For anyone interested, there are two superb reference books: "It's A Man's World - Men's Adventure Magazines, the Postwar Pulps", by Adam Parfrey, Feral House, 2003 and "Men's Adventure Magazines - the Rich Oberg Collection", Taschen, 2004 (both of which I obtained via Amazon when they were first published). Another true gem is "Secret Identity - the Fetish Art of Superman's Co-Creator Joe Shuster", by Craig Yoe, Abrams Comicarts, 2009, which was on sale in my local HMV mega-music store. Yesterday's forbidden literature is today's cool collectible and/or glossy coffee table book (and the original artwork is sold in fancy galleries)!

Actually, that film (which is known in these parts as Shark Special 35) was my least favorite of the three, but I agree that it's still pretty good. Of the three films in the series, Shark Special 35 certainly has the best mix of torture and rape.

All three films have some effective moments showing the women taking belly shots and getting roughed up.

The recent talk about victims meeting their end has brought to mind something I would like to ask about. Instead of the victim dying, how would you all feel about a villain meeting his end during the movie?

I remember seeing such an event in a JAV title I used to have. It was a JAV titled that I originally purchased from Video Mayhem, called "Rape of Village Woman" and this was back when VM was stilling selling titles on VHS tape. The movie featured I believe three female victims, one of which was a schoolgirl. The villains were military general types. I have a hunch that Rape of Village Woman may have been one of Hibino's "Sad Story Under War" titles. The generals molest and rape the three women many times and they seem to pay special attention to the schoolgirl. They molest and rape her so often that at some point she manages to get her hands on a gun and kill one of her assailants.

So how do the rest of you feel about a villain meeting his end, either due to his own actions or by the hand of a victim?

THE T DOUBLE G...

TGG: I like your question. Let's turn it into a poll and get some feedback.

GIMP POLL:
Instead of the victim dying, how would you feel about a villain meeting his end during the movie?

Personally, I don't like it when the bad guys die. I know a lot of movies end with the victim getting away or turning the tables on the villains, which I guess serves them right since they are villains so they deserve it, or something. Quite a lot of ZFX movies have the girls triumph in the end. And that's okay, because by the time the film is over, those girls have been tortured and raped and I've gotten my money's worth. But I still don't like it. To me, that's an unhappy ending.

I guess the reason why is that I put myself in the role of the bad guy when I'm watching a bondage film. I don't want to die! I want to go on living so I can tie up and torture more girls next time :)

It's a good question. Let's hear from others. Regulars, you know what to do. Lurkers...come on, guys. Perfect time to step out of the lurking closet and make yourself heard. Your opinion counts, so let's hear from you.

First update of the year ... and what an update it is ... from Margot.

It's the 4th day of the new year, as I write this, and it's 11 PM down this parts. I'll be done by tomorrow, in the early, very early hours of the 5th day of the year that just began with a nice kind of a big bang.

A lot has happened since I last made a longish post in this forum and I feel inspired to tell the story from the beginning. Not from the beginning of time, as some might already fear, but from the beginning of the end of year adventure.

It all began last Thursday, when we were planning to shoot the scene of the nasty Spanish Horse. Christmas was over and the government had a plan. The president decided to bring up the price of petrol 80%, which is huge. It's long to explain, but gasoline is subsidized here. The price was frozen some years ago to 27 USD a barrel. The new price was going to be 50 USD a barrel. Next day everything went up and the people revolted.

We're back on Thursday. Our inquisitor called JJ to tell him that there was no transportation, that a strike was on and people were being beaten in the streets as he spoke on the cell phone.

So the shoot was called off. But JJ and Jane decided to go to the post office anyway, that afternoon, to ship some DVDs. Yes, Jane does the shipping, as you already know.

When they arrived to the post office they found themselves in the middle of massive demonstrations that turned violent. Just before the tear gasses began flying, Jane and JJ decided to get as close to the action as possible to get a good view of the falling of the president, because that's what everyone thought was going to happen.

Jane near the police barricade just before the tear gasses began to fly.

Soon after the picture above was taken, the tear gasses began flying around them, so they had to flee. It's not a nice feeling, believe me. I was there once, long ago. In fact at one such demonstration, in the 90's, a woman died in front of me after getting hit on the head by a gas canister. There's a picture of me in a newspaper, front page, staring down at the dead woman.

Later that day, Jane and JJ went back home wondering if there was going to be any production in the first days of the new year. It seemed to everyone that beginning Monday, things were going to be really, really violent.

But it didn't happen. The government chickened out and went back on their word. The petrol went back to its frozen price and we could actually party that night. Yes. The government made the announcement 2 hours before the new year.

JJ's son organized a party for New Year's eve. He invited his musician friends WITH their instruments. It was fun. Lots of live music, lots of rum, lots of people and JJ had the chance to join the band and jam with them. Part of our crew was there, and so was Mila who got really drunk.

JJ looking at the guitar player, who happens to be the sound mixer for Maleficarum and the other films.

JJ and Jane staring at each other, having a Mojito, Cuban drink made of rum, that Jane prepared lovingly.

Yes, she also mixes good drinks. But she definitely doesn't do dishes.

Everyone had a great time and suddenly we entered a new year, with new plans, with pending work, with resolutions and wishes. Everyone drank a lot and needed a few days to recover. So, the next two days, Jane, Mila, JJ and the rest, took it very, very easy. JJ gave the cast and crew a break, nothing was going to happen until.... TODAY, the fourth day of the year. At 2:30 PM we were back in the set to torture Jane. She was going to be subjected to the humiliating and painful Spanish Horse.
The Spanish Horse.

Everyone was very concerned from the very start. The Big Contraption was waiting there, for Jane to sit on its edge, its nasty looking, sharp, wooden edge. How was she going to pull that off without any kind of leg support? That was the question in everyone's mind except JJ's, Jane's, and Mila's. They already worked out the details. Last Wednesday, before the upheaval, Jane sat on the horse, naked and without any support. "I can do it, no problem" she said. She had a secret which I'm not going to divulge. She was going to sit on the Spanish Horse without any support.

So, today, everyone was kind of tense. Their faces showed it. If they were concerned with the roasting scene, they were more concerned now. It looked extremely nasty. Jane was going to sit there and be tortured.

JJ wanted to have the brazier with flames, again, but Jane had a better idea. Instead of paraffin from melted candles, like the last time, she suggested to use burning alcohol and a few rags. That would burn nice for a while and without a lot of smoke.

JJ tried it and it worked. In fact, it looked pretty.

When all the lights were set, the brazier lit, the camera in position, etc. Jane was ready to sit up there. And she did. The shoot of the scene and its different takes took more than an hour. An hour of Jane sitting on the Spanish Horse, trembling, screaming, crying. The torturers put weights on her ankles to pull her down more. She resisted her torments, she didn't confess, but she didn't conceal her pain, her fear, her terror, her suffering.

The crew and the cast were very, very impressed. In fact, when the shoot was done, the torturers were standing on the sides of the horse daring each other to sit there, like Jane did. They didn't. One of them joked: "If I sit there I'll turn soprano" They didn't understand how she did it. How she could sit, naked, on that nasty, sharp, wooden edge. And yet, she did.

Jane on the Spanish Horse. The ropes tied to her ankles hold the weights. There are closeups of that in the film.

By the time the shoot was done, Jane was in pain and with a headache. Her ordeal was very real to her, more than she expected, but she was fine and sure that after one day break, she was going to go on that horse for more torture. JJ informed everyone that the scene of the horse was going to take three days, because of all of the angles, the tortures, like the burning with hot irons. He made some trial shots of the burning, to see how the actors will play it.

They all did well.

Jane suffering for her art. The actors suffering for theirs.

And so it was, that on this day, the fourth of the new year, the production of Maleficarum was back on the road and the time has come for the last stretch of the shooting. The hope is to finish it before the 15th, because we have another production coming to the dungeon, one of which I'll be talking about later.

I'll have some comments on the comments from others, so brace yourselves, there's more down there..

We have the trailer of Fantom in our site:
And now the comments
First, I'd like to thank Ralphus for the awards. And I have comments about that.

Most Courageous Actress - Jane von Detlefson. How many bondage performers would actually consent to being roasted on a spit over hot coals? For multiple hours over 2 days, being turned over and over helplessly while dealing with the heat from the coals and choking smoke, all in the name of entertainment, just to make a good movie? That's an award-winning feat by itself.

As you all can see from the pictures I'm posting today, she does deserve that award and perhaps she should get it ten fold. How about one for each scene in Maleficarum? Oh, and just for the scene in Agent X, where's she upside down and her head in a pot of water? Yes she deserves it. Thank you!
Most Eagerly Awaited Movie of Next Year - Gee, I had to think about this for about one second. Without a doubt, it's Maleficarum, the big budget Inquisition film from the people at Red Feline. Jane von Detlefson and another actress are put through an array of medieval tortures, including Jane being roasted on a spit and then finally burned at the stake. This shows every indication of becoming one of the greatest GIMP films in history.
Thank you again!. There's a lot of anticipation for both films around us. That's something that we love. The buzz is going around and spreading like wild fire. We're hearing things and that's very good. We're daring people to see this movie here and we can't wait to see the reaction.
Coolest New Celebrity Poster - Margot from Red Feline, who's graced our forum with sometimes incredibly long, but always engrossing updates on the upcoming Maleficarum, complete with vidcaps and full of personal insights that make it seem like we're right there alongside the actors shooting this amazing film. More than anything, she's created a real sense of excitement and anticipation for next year.
Oh, thank you, thank you, (bowing theatrically) It's an honour to receive this award for my incredibly long updates on Maleficarum. I'd like to thank all the members of this forum, all my relatives and friends, but specially the cast and crew of all Red Feline Productions, past, present and future, because they all made it possible for me to be this cool. Thank you, thank you.
Best New Catchphrase - From Jane von Detlefson, in talking about Maleficarum: "There will be no skimping on the GIMPing". And based on what they've filmed so far, she's absolutely correct.
Thank you again!. We're keeping that promise, we're not skimping on the GIMPing in Maleficarum. In fact, we're going to raise the gimping in movie-making to levels never seen before, or attempted.
MaX CoXXX Said:
Every thing I see you guys shooting looks spot on. Very authentic. About building, I feel the same way. If I was a bit more HTML savvy I'd post a shot of the electric chair I built for PKF. It is on my DFN.
Margot:

Thank you for the compliment. We're working the make things as realistic and authentic as possible. That's our goal now. Because of that we're finding people who have a lot of talent in doing things with metal, like the shackles we had made. We're looking more into that. One of our torturers is a DENTIST and he already volunteered to make the vampire fangs for our next production... FANGS to fit the actors! and in any shape, form, length, color, we want. If that's not cool, I don't know what is.

john Said

One small problem with Maleficarum, which should be a good movie, is that one shot of the girl being whipped shows a supermarket label on the back of her skirt.
Margot:
And not only that. The picture also shows the bathroom tiles, the washing machine (a little), the modern floor, a nice painted wall and Jane is wearing sweat pants, that did not exist in 1640. She's holding up her tee shirt, a modern garment, to show her marks.
YikYakker response to John:
Are you referring to this picture? That’s Jane von Detlefson showing us the aftermath of shooting the scene in which she’s roasted on a spit. It’s not part of the movie.
Margot's further clarification to avoid further confusion:

The picture mentioned above was taken for continuity purposes, to recreate the make up effects the same way when we shoot the follow up scene of the roasting. The picture not only shows the make up effects, it also shows, clearly, the actual, nasty marks left by the torture. Which MUST be recreated again for the burning at the stake. Continuity is important.

Most of the pictures I post are stills from the making of the movie, not vid caps of the movie itself.

What's the difference?

A vid cap is a frame from a scene in the movie and it has the ratio of the movie. In our case 16:9, and it looks like the movie. Perfect.

A still of the making of the movie is a photograph taken before, after and/or during the shooting of a scene. The still might have elements in it, like a tripod, the cameraman, the assistants feeding the flames... etc. etc.Or Jane laughing, or JJ giving instructions to the torturers. Any number of things will show in a still from the making of the movie.

Ralphus Said:

Margot: Loved the latest update, about the fire that got out of control during the dungeon scene. Like I said before, the insider stories are the best, and your updates have been a big reason why this forum is fun to read. And congratulations on your Ralphus Award, you earned it.

Margot:
I can't help writing long updates. Things are truly exciting and I have to tell these stories. It's the right to express, the right to know, etc, etc. And thank you for the Ralphus Award, I think that this award only encourages me to make even longer and hopefully not tedious updates. I'll try to control myself.
mstrerotics Said:
Thank the lord for Jane and Margot and their group. Doesn't anyone beside these two ladies and JJ know how to make a stimulating dungeon video? What's everyone else's thoughts on this...am I way off the mark?
Margot:

Thank you for your compliment to our work. It's really nice to hear something like that, along with the Ralphus Awards, this comment makes our end of year day. We can only hope, and work for it, that you'll be thanking the lord a lot this new year.

Badger Said:
Margot, Jane, Eda and Miss Sindy: You have really steamed things up in GIMP-world. I look forward to more of your great contributions.

Margot:

They'll keep steamrolling in from me and Jane, I can assure you.
Floggomaniac Said:
...and of course The Red Feline which I came upon a dozen of years ago and have seen all of their releases all of which have superlative whipping scenes. Not counting Jane von D's performances my favorite is Crux Bride II. I must thank JJ profusely for his understanding and development of these themes.

Margot:

Thank you and greetings, I probably know about you from our RFPIX exchanges.

One of the great pleasures we found when we started this, is the kind of response we receive from a lot of people that find us. For what I read in this and other forums, JJ wasn't far from the mark. I believe he was right on the mark.

The experiences that all of you have, individually, is so strikingly similar to JJ's experience and that of a lot, a lot of people, that we no longer wonder about it. That includes the books you all read, the movies you found stimulating, the comics, etc etc.

So, his understanding is your understanding. His search is your search. I remember him telling me, long before RFPIX, when he was telling me about a script he had written in Cuba, that it reflected his search. A mixture of the erotic, the personal, with the sacred where his innermost feelings and desires are expressed in the character of Mariselli. And he told me the beautiful story he wrote.

Needless to say I was impressed. I was 21 then, I was studying art and literature and I loved and was very familiar with the art from the Renaissance. When I went along to shoot a little scene with him, he wanted to see how a scene like that would work in his film, I immediately thought of Caravaggio because of the way he wanted to shoot it, the minimalism, the ciaro oscuro, the sublime eroticism, the striking poses... And as I saw JJ's progression until the film Martyr, I knew I wasn't wrong. I see this passion overflowing in Maleficarum. He loves this and embraces it totally, to the point of seducing people into it, who can't but love this work too.

I can write a lot about this and maybe one day I'll write a book about this experience because I have learned a lot and we all have learned a lot about ourselves through this. It's an adventure that we started a dozen years ago or more. More for me, because for me it all started one summer night in 1986, my first night with JJ. He opened my arms, crosslike, and held me practically hanging, naked, over him. I will never forget that experience when I was his martyr.

Good night.

Margot

I can tell you in 2 words -- one's "Boo!" and the other is "Hiss!" It's ..okay.. if a female member of the Villain Gang is killed by the other villains, but under no circumstances should a heroine kill any villain.

Honestly, I don't have any problem with villain characters getting killed in the end. Sometimes if I really like a story and the actress then I'd like to see the video continue into a series, so the villain should stay alive if that's the case, but there are almost no villains I personally identify with, and so few are as entertaining as a Bryan Dunhill or a PD, so I don't care if they all die.

I'm big on story elements. I find that if a video ends with a girl turning the tables, it adds more story, and shows her escaping and basically stepping into a different role, and I like that. Especially if she's half unndressed, half tied up, a gag around her neck, and looking very tense and shaky as she waits for the guy to come back so she can shoot/knock out/choke/stab/shove into a volcano or whatever she's going to do. It's just a nice little endpiece, as opposed to a fadeout on her looking scared.

Hey, you know what would be awesome? If every single AES video ended with "Ken Scott" (bumbling old dude) getting offed like Kenny in South Park.

Poll question - gotta throw in with Ralphus and jhlipton here - okay, if a female villain gets whacked that's fine - the male villain should always prevail and that's a happy ending.

Margot - thanks for another informative update - I await the arrival of "Fantom" which will hopefully tide me over until "Maleficarum" is released - and before you guys depart I will hoist a Mojito in your honor - what a cool, refreshing toss back that is.

Dan Leissner - I've mentioned this before on the forum but can't resist an opportunity to toot my horn - I have a copy of "It's a Man's World" on the coffee table - I get mentioned on the acknowledgements page as I supplied Adam with several high quality covers scans that he used in the book - very nice of him to cite my rather minor contribution to the publication - he's an interesting story of his own but that is a topic for another forum.

Stay well all

The poll question: Similar to my take on victims dying, I am solidly in the "don't care" camp when it comes to villains dying.

Going back to Attackers' Rape Investigation series that I mentioned in the discussion about victims dying, those films also show the villains being killed. Doesn't bother me.

In response to something Ralphus wrote, I should clearly state that this doesn't mean I want to die. I don't have Ralphus's imaginative powers, and I don't tend to see villains as an extension of myself. When the villains are killed, it doesn't provoke any kind of emotional reaction from me.

GIMP poll: Interesting question. For GIMP purposes, the simple answer is ... it depends. The best scenario for a villain dying is an evil female whose suffers a horrible revenge torture-death at the end of the movie. Something on the lines of Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS.

But generally, the deaths of either the victim or the villain are non-factors. It's what happens before their deaths that is most important to me. I usually want the villains to die because of their annoying dialogue and general stupidity, like loose bonds, gag removals and leaving weapons within reach of the victim. At that point I'm usually cheering for the victim to put the villain--and my viewing experience--out of their misery.

----------

Margot: Good to hear that a revolution didn't break out and that filming of Maleficarum has resumed. It sounds that the risks of danger exist on and off the set. Great pics of Jane on the Spanish Horse. That indeed looks quite painful, and I agree with the torturer's soprano comment.

Hey all! Well, I got on the Spanish Horse yesterday to shoot part of the scene. Since there's so much going on in that scene, it will take 3 days to shoot. Margot is assuming that I have a trick to do the Spanish Horse. So here's the deal, I thought that with my arms above my head I would be able to be slightly suspended above the horse. I was wrong. I was able to lift myself off of that thing once for a couple of seconds and then had to sit with a piece of wood jammed in my lady parts (forgive my plain speaking) for an hour while they (really taking their time) got the shots they need. And that would be why I wanted to take a taxi home from the set instead of walking. Apparently that's why it was considered a torture. But it looks great, so it's worth it.

Speaking of unending torture, Fantom is finally available in the VOD Store! Hooray! And we have a trailer up on the front page of our site. Double hooray! So check it out, y'all. It was really intense shooting Fantom and painful. But you know how I love sacrificing my comfort for Art. There are no special effects, no sound effects, no blood effects. For those who have seen Training Jane, it's a bit like that, but a lot longer, with a bit of plot at the beginning, more arduous, and with a plethora of different tortures.

Poll Question: How do I feel if a villian dies? I guess it depends on how I feel about the villian. If I truly respected him, if he was ruthless and nasty and quick witted, then I would want him to live to torment other helpless babes. But if he was totally unconvincing, used lousy bondage, loose gags, lame tortures, then he deserves to die for squandering such a great GIMP opportunity!!

Thanks for the lead, man. I found two of these at aaparadise and ordered both. I never realized Attackers had any videos featuring death scenes so this is quite the surprise. What I have of theirs leans heavily toward rape, much of it almost consensual in nature. A few titles have some mild torture and virtually nothing with the girls expiring. Is there any way to tell what to expect based on the series or product codes? Can you recommend any others of this ilk?

Wow… algolagnia? Sounds more like a gourmet pasta than a sexual perversion. I was just about to add another fancy title to my list of dubious designations when I discovered it really doesn't fit me at all. My research says a true algolagniac enjoys getting it, not giving it - thus needing a floggomaniac to do the heavy lifting. However, I do have an opening or two for available algolagnic girls in my dungeon.

That is TBBH-01 and it's one of my favorites too. The beast -kind of a comical lunk, despite his killer tendencies- also chows down on his bare-breasted victim after he impales her. Even cable doesn't show stuff like that. If you liked the first one, I can also recommend 06 and 02 (to a lesser extent). 04 and 05 are violent but have no nudity at all.

and also:

About the only things I don't like about Giga: They take too long to get the girl topless, especially those darn helmets; and the villains spend FAR too much time talking and not beating or whipping the cute girl they've captured.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'll never understand the appeal of those insectoid crash helmets, and in some GIGA vids, the heroine doesn't drop a stitch (very odd, as in others she parades through the entire film dressed in nothing but sneakers and a pair of bunny ears). And don't even get me started on the squeaky voiced aliens and their knights-who-say-ni minions.

I'm not sure if anyone has asked this previously, and please feel free to ignore me if it's a personal question, but what prompted you to relocate to Bolivia of all places? When I first ordered from Red Feline ten years ago, I recall a NY shipping address. Then one day, my package came from South America. I did a double take, added the stamps to my collection, and have been curious ever since.

Poll: Like Brutus, I have to say "it depends". When I first read the question, I assumed we were talking about bad guys only (Ralphus asks about the character meeting his end). However, with the possibility that we are considering villainesses as well as villains, a variety of situations arises, some of which I enjoy, and some of which I don't.

For what I think is the expected scenario, -male villain tortures girl; girl escapes; girl kills villain at the climax and lives happily ever after- count me out. This is the bane of so many mainstream films which would otherwise be far more enjoyable with a downbeat ending in which Mr. Evil triumphs. I know many may disagree or not care. Wimps.

In the previous scenario, if the villain were replaced by an attractive female, then it's a whole new ball game. As Brutus points out, this is what happens in She Wolf, although it's arguable whether the heroine survives. Sure, the hero's love interest lives on, but the female avenger out to even the score, the one who suffers the most abuse, dies before she can kill the villainess. Also, Ilsa is killed by someone on her own side rather than at the hands of a victim. All this makes for a thumbs-up storyline in which both the villainess and the heroine expire. My only gripe is that Ilsa dies with a quick, unexpected gunshot to the head, rather than suffering the fate of her victims.

Does that mean I dislike all films in which the villain is killed by a victim (or someone else)? Not at all. In fact, I fondly recall several spy movies of my youth in which a secondary female character killed off one or more secondary bad guys, only to meet her own demise at the hands of the primary villain. That was hot, even if the primary villain was killed by the hero at the climax.

So how best to sum this up? Overall, as long as the film has some good GIMP action, I'm okay with a male villain being killed so long as one or more female victims bite the dust as well. If the villain dies and all other girls survive, that's just not right. If a villainess is killed and all her victims survive, that's not ideal, but I can live with it. If a villainess dies along with one or more of the women she's been abusing, I'm the proverbial pig in shit.

You can also find the first film in the series, Shark 231, at Jav Paradise (Shark 231 is my favorite of the three, and one of my all-time favorite films overall). It's also available at asianscreens.com, although Jav Paradise is the safer route if you want the disc shipped from within Canada.

As for other Attackers films that show the heroine dying, I will have to think about this one. Nothing immediately comes to mind, although my middle-age memory isn't what it once was (or what I think it once was).

Outside of Attackers, some of the fa-pro films that have been previously discussed, such as Battlefield Gangbang, which I reviewed in 2010, certainly include scenes of the victims being killed by gunshots to the head.

Checking in again. Boy, this place is hopping. Some real nice responses on the poll question so far.

Regarding my use of the word "his" when referring to the villain, that's the way TGG wrote it. I agree with a few of the posters that if we were to make the villain a villainess, I would probably change my vote, particularly if the villainess got some of the same bad treatment that she dished out to the victim earlier before she gets killed. That would add a whole new extra character to the mix. Thumbs up on that scenario.

---------------

Jane and Margot: Great to hear more first-hand experiences from both Red Feline girls this time! I have to say, the Spanish Horse stills are wicked hot. Jane looks totally sexy up there suffering on the horse. I wish more filmmakers would shoot horse stuff, because it really is a great torture. Dan Hawke is the only bondage producer I know of who has his own horse he uses on models (which he readily admits he learned from Blakemore). In his commentary track on one of his DVDs, he said he likes the horse so much because it uses the girl's own anatomy to cause her anguish. I like that idea.

I used to chat online with a girl who voluntarily got tortured on the horse to see what it was like, and she said it was one of the most painful things she's ever experienced. She said the pain on her pussy was constant and intense, and there was no way she could position herself in a way that could alleviate her discomfort. Those guys from the Inquisition period really came up with ingenious ways to torture women. And adding weights to the ankles had to increase the pain, which is why I'm glad they're doing that to Jane in this film. The more suffering, the better, after all.

---------------

The trailer to Fantom looks promising. Jane looks as though she's really being put through the ringer. My only negative first impression appears to be the lack of dialogue from the bad guy, which was a debit from some of the earlier Red Feline efforts. We'll see, though. My DVD is on the way and I will be reviewing this one for the board.

That comment by Fritz got me cracking up for some reason. The moment I originally read the section I've underlined, my imagination went bonkers. Everytime an image of a pig in dung would come to mind, I would find myself cracking up hysterically. I have no clue why the idea of a pig in shit seems so funny, it just does!

Instead of the victim dying, how would you feel about a villain/villainess biting the dust during the movie?

BTW, ignore the dude who's selling a collectible copy for over $2,000. As good as that whipping scene is - and it's one of my all-time favorites - for that kind of money you can get one of the producers here to do a custom whipping scene for you. ;)

Jane: So here's the deal, I thought that with my arms above my head I would be able to be slightly suspended above the horse.

I thought you might have been able to pull yourself up by thye ropes on your wrists, at least for short stretches. I'm glad to be wrong, though!

================================

Fritz: That is TBBH-01 and it's one of my favorites too.

I've seen (forum rules prevent me from saying how) all the TBBH series (only 6!! I wish they'd make more!) and # 1 is definitely my fave. Another one I like is TBB-15, "Heroine Suppression" movie with an "English" speaking heroine. I call it the "Boxing Glove" movie.

I don't quite know what to say about them - I guess they're kinda, sorta okay in a quirky, cheesy fashion - they seem to have their hearts in the right place but I think I'm being kind when I say the onscreen execution is sub par - they do have some decent models not shy about showing flesh but that's the best I can say - so they will still be without a review mention.

To clarify the meaning of algolagnia: As defined in Robert J Campbell's Psychiatric Dictionary - Any psychosexual disorder in which physical or mental pain is an essential part: algolagnia may be active (sadism) or passive (masochism).

In the Penguin Dictionary Of Psychology algolagnia is defined as: Lit. (from the Greek) pain-lust. Hence, the arousal of sexual feelings through pain. The term is occasionally used as a cover for both sadism and masochism.

In other words a coin with an S on one side and an M on the other or vice versa.

By the way the only disorder I have is my vision. I am near- sighted.

If anyone is interested there are hundreds of clips from movies at a price at http://www.punishmovies.com/. You can view stills at no cost and download or buy DVDs. I believe Ms. Stiletto is among them.

-----------------

Sloth: I've mentioned WAVE on this forum a few times over the years. Thanks to the miracle that is SEARCH THE GIMP, here's an encore post of mine from April 6, 2002 that pretty much crystallizes my opinion of them:

WAVE Video: Another company with its heart in the right place, but constantly plagued by feeble acting, pedestrian direction and cheesy special effects. I have bought about 20 or so of their tapes, and again, I usually find worthwhile scenes buried in the mediocrity of the production. For a guy who specializes in damsels in distress tapes, you would think he would pay a bit more attention to tying his girls a bit better. Still, he tackles subjects others would shy away from, mixing bondage with snuff themes like hanging, gassing, electrocution, quicksand, strangling, buzzsaws, burning at the stake...practically every death theme you can name, he has done it. A lot of his girls are cute and many perform in the nude, which automatically enhances any scene in my book :)
I'm curious, what titles did you order? They actually do pretty good job on their hanging scenes. They did a movie called Psycho Charlie's Revenge that had a scene I liked a lot that featured of a pretty girl hanged while wearing a cheerleader's outfit (fetish alert!).

I always found WAVE to be somewhat baffling. It was like their heart was in the right place, but they seemed to miss a lot of opportunities, and their productions often seemed overpriced for what would be one-note ideas, like, you could pay $30.00 for a videotape of a feature called something like, "tank-top girl drowned in a pool" and sure enough, you'd get a half hour of a couple girls badly in need of a makeover maybe getting loosely tied up at some point and finally at the end, getting drowned in a pool. I just didn't feel like I got much beyond the advertisements.

The best thing about WAVE was that you could get videos featuring Tina Krause, who was amazing. I wlways thought it was tragic that she didn't do some videos with our friend Rick Masters of ZFX. I thought she would have been perfect.

Ralphus - my word, I should have simply cut and pasted your April 2002 post in for mine - I went way back in their archives and ordered "Witchfinder", "Witchfinder 2" and "Retribution" - found "Witchfinder" to be the pick of the litter and did feature a pretty fair hanging - "Retribution" had a hanging that I thought was very poorly staged which was doubly disappointing as the chick was very nice - perhaps I'll go ahead with a review on "Witchfinder" just so we can have one up and show our tolerance and diversity :) - also, have you received your copy of "Fantom" yet? - still waiting on mine.

I really was put through the ringer in Fantom. JJ and I cooked up something very interesting for this movie. He was much more involved in his character in this one. Even more so than in Agent X. He whispered things, terrorized me, and when he reduced me to tears and I was pleading he just looked at me with pity, which really freaked me out and then brutally, and I mean brutally, gave his answer with whatever instrument he had in his hand. The body language between the villain and the victim is very powerful, at least to me. And I've watched it by now several times.

We had talked about his character talking more in this one, but he noticed that I became even more disconcerted by his not talking, looking at me, stroking my hair, then yanking it and beating me, etc. I was actually freaked out during the shooting because of this. I really believed this guy was a psycho.

Ralphus also wrote: Jane looks totally sexy up there suffering on the horse.

Thank you! I learned yesterday (on the horse, no less) that we would have to repeat that day's shoot, so I'm going to have at least two more days up there. Plus we changed the script a bit and made the scene longer and with more tortures. I'll be whipped, searched for the devil's Mark, and then burned with a hot poker. All while weights are attached to my feet dragging me down. Oh, and our torturer seems to really be into his job now, because I still have marks from yesterday's whipping.

For anyone interested, WAVE was one of the first "death fetish" producers. They did (and do) shootings, stranglings, drownings and quicksand. The videos range from amateurish to just plain ridiculous, with a few exceptions. There's not a lot of nudity, although they do love wet T-shirts. (Or what Ralphus said in 2002).

Kinkybitch: Thanks, I took a look at the trailers, and I like what I see. While the production values are not exactly glossy, there is a certain earthy realism to the look of your films, which I like.

What isn't clear in the trailers -- and what is very important to this crowd -- is whether or not your films are depicting activities that are supposed to appear non-consensual. Certainly, when you talk about being "raped" in some movies, the lack of consent seems clear enough, but I get nervous when I see words like "master" in the written descriptions.

Based on his most recent review, it looks like Ralphus may have softened a bit in his view on the whole "consent" thing. But many of the rest of us haven't. If I see a film where the woman is consensually submitting to her master, I'm not interested. I only enjoy films where it appears the woman is being tortured and/or violated against her will.

You'll also find you get different opinions here when it comes to scenes with vibrators. I really enjoy that stuff, and I particularly liked what I saw in the trailer for Rough Treatment. But other GIMPers aren't keen on vibrator scenes.

Quite a few Attackers movies feature deaths of the female characters, but the one series mentioned so far is the only one of their multiple-entry series that features death in every film.

The "To the Point of Falling..." series is themed around rape and unhappy endings for its women, but only a few actually have death.

In ATID-157 "THE END", Riria is shot and killed halfway through the movie, and her crime-fighting partner spends the rest of the movie getting raped. The last shot of the film is her wailing painfully in handcuffs in her cell.

SHKD-249, "GAME OVER" with Yuka Haneda, sees her trying to rescue a girl from her sexually abusive brother. Instead, the girls gets drowned and Yuka ends up the replacement sex slave. Yuka is good in it. Lots of crying.

The "Lady Panther" series features teams of thieving women. Usually one or more don't make it out alive, and even the ones where they all live have unhappy endings for all and pretty good acting of the rape scenes. Lady Panther 5 (SSPD 033) features one death at the end, and some very well-done bondage throughout.

SSPD-028 is a particularly brutal movie about a bus-load of female students and teachers hijacked by some criminals. All but two of the women get killed off.

SSPD 009 is another brutal one. Women are taken, raped, and then hunted in the woods for spot. Most die, but some live.

SSPD 054 is a military movie, with both the villainess and most of the heroines killed through it.

And I do agree that MOST of Attackers films' are rather tame, but they generally make such a large number of films that they cover a pretty wide spectrum of fetishes and levels of severity.

Some favorites of mine include:

SHKD-273 (Female spy in a red dress gets caught)

RBD-164 (Woman Investigator and The Chair, technically a "To The Point of Falling..." movie)

GAME OVER (mentioned above)

Lady Panther 8: SSPD 063

Lionhearted Woman: SHKD-184, about a politician's daughter that takes up her assassinated father's cause while ignoring many warnings to stay away.

I'll list more as I think of them.

I liked Tina a lot, too. She was one of the few actresses who found success once she graduated from WAVE, too. According to the IMDB, she's still making movies, even though she'll turn 41 this year. I have a lot of her WAVE movies, and she also made a film called Silver Mummy with Misty Mundae that rings my bell every time. That was the movie where Misty wraps her from head to toe in duct tape and then leaves her alone, but not before turning on the gas from the stove to slowly kill her.

I bought two of those after reading your review. The GIMP scenes were excellent and I enjoyed the war-themed story lines, but the scene in which the girls are shot didn't do much for me. The deaths seemed like an afterthought and happened far too quickly - almost like mercy killings after all the victims had been through.

TBB-15 is one of the first GIGA vids I saw, and it is a real anomaly. Not only is it the only one I've come across in which the heroine speaks English (even though all the villains don't), she doesn't even seem to be Japanese. The girl has a thick Nordic accent, is a terrible actress, but still makes for a sexy victim. Unfortunately, she doesn't lose much clothing, and she's still alive at the end of the film (though not having much fun).

WAVE: They weren't just one of the first death fetish producers, I'm pretty sure they were the first. If I'm wrong about this, I'd love to know who was around before they were; I'm very interested in the history of these producers and how they evolved.

I recall ordering one of their videos in the late 1980's after reading their advert in a horror 'zine. This was several years before the web culture exploded. They did custom work, but only full-length productions, so at the time commissioning an original script was far beyond my budget. Their regular videos were reasonably priced though, and at the time they were the only ones I knew of which catered to a GIMP fetish and incorporated both limited nudity and death scenes.

Compared to what's around today, WAVE videos were very tame and the production values were spotty at best. The films had absolutely no hard-core action, not even simulated sex. In fact, topless scenes and wet t-shirts were usually the most you'd get. Effects were strictly poverty row, though some of their plot lines were admirably ambitious.

And then there were the actresses they hired: the original stable tended to be notoriously chunky, but over the years some real winners (like Tina) came along. Unfortunately, their wardrobes usually consisted of thrift store outfits and 1950's era undergarments (including granny panties and bullet bras). Nonetheless, for me it was the only game in town for quite a while, so I did buy a number of their titles until more producers cropped up online.

Here's what's frustrating though: Gary (who still runs WAVE and occasionally posts at some fetish sites) continues to stick to virtually the same Perils of Pauline formula to this day. The sex and GIMP action are as mild as ever, and despite directing a plethora of videos over more than two decades, the overall quality of his productions is about the same as it was back in the 80's. Thankfully, the models have become far more attractive over the years, though sadly their underclothes have not.

I still have a few WAVE productions which I enjoy to this day. jhlipton already mentioned Perforations, which has a really mean-spirited and extended shooting. There's also an anthology video called Real Detective Stories which features a variety of tortures and deaths and more nudity than usual. My favorite WAVE scene of all is the Tina Krauss electrocution in Snuff Perversions, which wasn't filmed exclusively by WAVE but features clips from a number of producers.

I think Canadian would be a potentially good candidate, since he seems to show an interest in your work so far. Or if not, we have lots of fine reviewers here would likely jump at the chance to view your work in exchange for a review.

Actually, this raises an interesting question: Who is going to write the forum's official review of Maleficarum when it is released?

Obviously, it can't be Ralphus, since he's one of the producers of the movie. But someone will have to be signed up for the task, particularly given all the hype about the film.

Poll Question: Yes! There are appropriate times for the villian to meet a very appropriate end during the movie (Lana Clarkson throwing the torturer into a pit full of acid in Barbarian Queen, Lisa Eichhorn putting two .45 slugs into Anthony Zerbe-her rapist-in Opposing Force, to name two examples). In both cases since both are the heroines, the villian's end is richly deserved.

Re: Tina Krause: by all means, yes! Have some of her stills up on the board; WAVE video was a pioneer in the field, you might say.

What do you mean, obviously it can't be me? I've never looked forward to reviewing a movie more than this one. I'm a producer, yes, but all that means is I put my money into the production and gave Jane a lot of advice on what I wanted to see and how I wanted the victims tied, etc. It's not much different from having a really, really expensive custom done, except in this case, it was only a custom shoot on 2 of the scenes, the spit-roasting and the burning at the stake. Everything else is being done according to the script that Jane already had ready when I proposed paying to see her roasted. I don't have any say in the rest of the scenes they're filming.

Anybody who thinks I can't give an unbiased review just because I invested in the production doesn't know me very well. I'm a fan of what I've been seeing, and I expect to like the movie, but I'm always brutally honest when it comes to giving my opinion about bondage entertainment. I love ZFX but you'll also see some of my reviews of Rick's work that got grades of C-.

And really, why should there be only one review? Hopefully a lot of you will buy the movie and I certainly hope we'll get a whole bunch of reviews. I would honestly be disappointed if we got only one.

A week of Tina Krause pics: I have a few, but really, not that many. WAVE was never that good about furnishing pics on their site, even though Tina was their most popular star. I'll put up a good one tonight, and then how about some pics of Jane von Detlefson?

This is my third time trying to post this -- hopefully it works this time!

=============================================

Ralphus: she also made a film called Silver Mummy with Misty Mundae that rings my bell every time.

There’s two things wrong with that set-up: You can’t see her boobs, nor can you see her face. At the URL above are three pics where you at least see her face!

=============================================

Fritz: WAVE: They weren't just one of the first death fetish producers, I'm pretty sure they were the first. If I'm wrong about this, I'd love to know who was around before they were; I'm very interested in the history of these producers and how they evolved.

You might be right. I had thought that Necrobabes came before WAVE, but Peter Cohen, one of the founders, puts that at 1997. But are you sure about the 80s? I looked at their Classics Page and din’t see anything before 1993. I could ask Peter what he recalls.

=============================================

DHT: http://www.wavemovies.com/product.php?ID=262

That video, or one like it, has one of the silliest, yet most effective drownings I’ve seen. A girl is in a tub from which she can easily escape. But a (very fake) head keeps her in and keeps her under.

=============================================

kinkybitch: They are older recordings and that's why I like some advice from people who knows a lot of bdsm

This not a typical BDSM site. We’re much more focused on pain and suffering, and most of us like at least a nod towards non-consensual activities. There are a bunch of BDSM sites (and it looks like you’re more toward the BD than SM) where you could advertise your films.

I would never tell you not to hawk your wares here, but that you might get a false reading.

My guess is there is definitely a market for your material. Even if it turns out the movies don't quite satisfy the unique tastes of the GIMP readers, I suspect there is still a market in the broader BDSM community.

In my case, I'm not part of that community (I have no involvement in BDSM other than watching GIMP movies) but I have seen some of the stuff that is produced for the bondage community in general, and my guess is there is room for your films.

Of course, it would be better if your films do cater to the GIMP audience -- in my biased opinion.

Naw, every now and then, this place inexplicably goes silent. Fortunately, it generally doesn't last for very long. And it doesn't matter that we're already at a record high for hits, it looks like most of the new readers decided to be lurkers, too.

I broke down and bought a DVD of Silver Mummy. I found it for 5 bucks cheaper and had a gift card so the only thing I had to pay was shipping.

Regarding your contention that you can't see Tina's boobs nor face, that's only at the end of the scene. She starts out naked, and you see her naked as she's being wrapped. As the tape gets wound around her body, she starts panicking and begging and saying she can't breathe, and Misty is very calm and nonchalant as she continues wrapping her and ultimately sealing her mouth with the tape. It's actually a really hot scene if you watch the entire thing. I may ultimately review that for the forum if I ever find some free time.

------------------

Canadian brought up the BDSM community, whatever that is. Can someone explain the difference between B&D and S&M? Or is there a difference? Because honestly, I don't think I know. In my mind, BDSM conjures up images of men and women wearing leather gear and masks with paddles and whips. It has an air of consensuality that turns me off. This is as opposed to movies like ZFX makes, which are nonconsensual fantasies involving bondage, rape and torture. I've never considered ZFX to be either B&D or S&M. Does the average GIMPer like BDSM? And is my interpretation of BDSM misguided, or am I about right in what I think it's about?

Discuss. Don't let jhlipton get away with killing the forum.

Your image of BDSM and mine are much alike. Most web sites that identify themselves as BDSM sites are more into Master/Slave scenarios including self-bondage, consensual bondage, leather, etc. And, like you, I see absolutely nothing in that arena that does anything for me whatsoever.

That said, I can understand that there are those who would describe our GIMP-based interests as BDSM, in a broader sense of the term. I see GIMP as falling into a range. One one end of that range, the end most appealing to me, are the reality-based stories such as abductions and home invasions. On the other end of the range - less appealing to me -- are the stories that open with the victim already bound and often in a dungeon equipped with racks, etc. To me, that is end of GIMP falls into the gray area and can more easily be labeled -- correctly or incorrectly -- as BDSM.

Judging by the number of BDSM sites on the web, I would have to say that there are a lot more fans of BDSM than there are of GIMP. That's fine with me. I don't understand the attraction, but I am sure that there are many that wouldn't understand mine.

A new update from Margot. On this day, January 8th, 2011

Today is Sunday, it's quiet and sunny. The cast and the crew of Maleficarum have a needed break after three days of torturing Jane. She needs a break too. Her lady parts, as she likes to call them, need a rest too. She has been sitting on that wooden horse for three days and just the thought of going on for a fourth was not something she was looking forward to, so when JJ said that there wasn't going to be any shooting until next Tuesday, she let out a sigh of relief.

She had the hardest three days since we started shooting. She sat on the horse for two days and was whipped.

This was her second time because the very first time, at the beginning of the week, became a rehearsal. Some shots are good, but the scene had to be repeated. There were some issues with the ropes and the action itself. So, on Thursday everyone was back in the dungeon to do it all over again.

That first day JJ wanted to focus on Jane's back as she was whipped. The whip falling on her back, cutting her skin, her back bleeding, with Mila chained up naked far in the background and the Inquisitor appearing to check how the torture was going.

The whipping and the scene went very well, it had to be repeated a few times, but Jane was fine with that. She took it like a champ. However, the Inquisitor had a hard time keeping his hard, insensitive look. He felt for poor Jane. At times the actor betrayed his true feelings and he looked disconcerted, sometimes even frightened. The whipping sounded all too real and Jane, sitting up there with all that pain in her face, was a scary sight.

The issue with the ropes was taken care off first. JJ didn't like that he was using too much rope around Jane's wrists. He decided to just tie Jane's wrists and with her arms a little lower so she won't be tempted to use them as support. Jane was truly resting on the wooden horse.

After the a good number of shots, and after shooting some cut away's with the other actors, POVs and things like that, where Jane didn't have to be on the horse, the day was over. The worse was yet to come.

Friday Jane was back on the horse, this time the shots were from the side of the horse and the front. There many shots taken of the side first. The sound of the whip falling on Jane's skin was scary, even the camera man was flinching at every stroke.

When the camera was set up to take the shots from the front of Jane, JJ asked her if everything was ok. He was concerned as everyone else was. She was fine. So the camera was set up, the lights re-arranged and the scene started all over again.

At the end we knew she had the roughest time since we started shooting. I think I prefer to leave the details of her ordeal to her. Suffice is to say that JJ had great doubts to continue the next day. The scene was very intense and all of the actors and the crew were very concerned for Jane. JJ asked her a few times if everything was ok, she said yes. But at one point he didn't have to ask. He took one look at her and he knew she had had enough. The day shoot was over. Jane herself mentioned that she felt that the shoot took longer than the day before and this time she suffered too much.

The return home was very quiet. No one spoke in the car. JJ told everyone in the set to be there next day at 2:30 PM, but in the car ride he was having second thoughts.

But Saturday Jane was willing to go on. The scene called for Jane to be pricked with a sharp stiletto in the search for the devil's mark. This time she had it a bit easier, even if she still had to sit on the horse and suffer its rough edge on her lady parts.

JJ instructed the actors and the crew as how he wanted the scene to be shot. There were going to be a lot of shots again, lots of close ups and it was going to take some time.

But for Jane it wasn't hard, not as hard as the previous day.

Jane made one comment when she entered the dungeon. She said she felt like she hadn't been in the set for a while, she didn't feel it was only the day before that she was there. In her mind she felt a longer time had passed.

The scene went well. She was tortured with the stiletto until she fainted. Very quickly the shoot was over and this time everyone felt better than the day before. The walk home, because this time Jane wanted to walk, was pleasant.

At the end of the shoot, JJ told everyone to take two days break, Sunday and Monday, to be back on Tuesday at 2:30 to torture Jane a little more.

Because of the difficulties in shooting this particular scene, Jane needs to go on that horse two more days. So, Tuesday and Wednesday she'll be back on the horse for more .. and that's it for her torments. The next time she's naked and suffering she's going to be burning at the stake.

There are still some scenes with the other actors, fully clothed, including Mila and Jane. JJ expects to finish them sometime during the next ten days. In fact, the entire movie might be finished in the next ten days.

Meanwhile, both films, Barbazul and Maleficarum are in post now and they are looking great.

And now to the comments

Ralphus said:

Margot responds:

I think I said it all at the beginning of this update. Jane has to go on the horse again and she's not looking forward to that. In fact, she dreads it. But the production is almost done, so she's going to push herself a bit more to get to the finish line. The fact is that she's pushing herself a lot on this one, more than in any other previous productions.

A bit of Red Reline's history with The Spanish Horse.

When JJ and Camille made Red Feline on the Cross, one element of the story was the Spanish Horse.

It worked very well there. Later, in the Inquisition movie, both Camille and Gabrielle suffer the wooden torment.

In 7 days on the Cross, Gabrielle spends a lot of time on it.

But it is in Maleficarum where the Spanish Horse has the edge. And by that I mean "The Sharp Edge".

Jane herself built the horse. She looked for the wood, bought it, had JJ transport it, she cut it, nailed it together, and so on. It's her work all around and when JJ saw that the edge was actually the sharp end of the piece of wood, he was concerned. Jane told him not to worry.

Mila was working with Jane in the building of the horse and thought that it was quite nasty. She doesn't dare sit there.

But Jane felt that she could take it all three or four days the torture was going to last.

There were some other tortures JJ added to the scene, like pricking her body with the stiletto in search of the Devil's mark, whipping her, and finally burning her with hot irons. Most of them were done, there's a bit more of the pricking to go and finally the burning with the hot iron. Two more days.

And now a few comments on the comments:

Ralphus said:
The trailer to Fantom looks promising. Jane looks as though she's really being put through the ringer. My only negative first impression appears to be the lack of dialogue from the bad guy, which was a debit from some of the earlier Red Feline efforts. We'll see, though. My DVD is on the way and I will be reviewing this one for the board.

Margot responds:

Dialogue. Oh yes. We had discussions about this before the production of Fantom. Jane wanted more dialogue, but JJ felt that, in this particular movie, it would not work so well. The argument is this: A very good villain does not do much talking. Talkers, in JJ's view, are losers like The Joker in Batman, or The Ugly One in The Good, the Dad and the Ugly. The mean one, the Bad One, doesn't talk much. He doesn't have to.

From his perspective JJ finds that it is more threatening, terrifying and cooler if the torturer doesn't do much talking. Why? Because it scares the victim more.

When Jane and JJ act, the more Jane pleads, cries, the more she grows in fear and desperation when she doesn't get a response or even an explanation.

It works something like this. When I'm in a relationship with someone, and we have a fight, I do most of the arguing, and there's nothing more infuriating to me than not getting a response. Of course, If I do get a response I hate being interrupted, but that's not the point. The point is that silence says a lot when it comes to annoying or scaring someone.

In the case of Jane's characters, most of them so far, the less the torturer says, the more terrifying for the victim who pleads to deaf ears. The villain doesn't really care and doesn't need to explain himself or even make threats. He has the control.

I believe that in most people's fantasies, the words come before the images. Because fantasies start in the head, and obviously, the mind will make an elaborate fantasy based in words that will describe to oneself the tortures the imaginary victim will endure. And that's how some scripts start, with words and more words. But as the images, the real images, take over, they say a lot more than any speech would do.

I personally find that when the torturer talks too much, the scene turns theatrical and loses some impact. A lot more is said in silence than in a lot of talk. The cool guy, like Batman or The Man with no Name, and even Dracula, doesn't really talk. If they do, something is lost in the translation. But that's just a point of view. In the case of Fu Manchu, I believe that less talk could help him, specially at the end of all of his movies.

There's another reason why some Red Feline movies don't have many dialogues. And that's because of our international audiences. If the dialogues are there, they become important, even if they are not, and the viewer will want to know what it's being said. Then we would need to have German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Hungarian, Croatian, Russian ..... etc etc. versions of the film to get to all those markets.

So, a decision was made when Camille and JJ made Red Feline on the Cross. No talk. Lots of screaming, pleading in any language, because it all sounds the same.

And since I'm discussing this, I might as well go into other areas that were mentioned in this forum. JJ's acting, for one. In some of the movies he seems to be going through the motions while Jane, or Camille, or Gabrielle do most of the performing. And that's because that's the way the work is done. JJ does a lot of the work, like setting up the cameras, lights, sound and timing of the scene, so his mind is in 1000 places at the same time and he doesn't have the freedom to concentrate only in his character. It's hard work to do everything at the same time. He does what he can and hopes that it's coming out great and that people will want to see the girl, mostly, and not so much of him. And so far I think very few people care about him, most people do care about the performances of Jane, Camille, Gabrielle, etc,

But now we'll have a crew in our future productions. When JJ acts he won't direct or do camera or any of that, so he will concentrate in his role as a villain.

In Barbazul he's amazing. He did very little in the production, he concentrated in his role and managed to scare everyone by becoming the character he was playing. It took him a while to get out of that character.

In Maleficarum he decided not to act, and give the role he loves the most, that of the torturer, to someone else. And it is working very well.

And there's plenty of talking in Maleficarum, but mostly in Spanish, we'll have to spend the money to subtitle it in many languages, bringing our budget to a higher level.

Canadian said:

By the way, am I the only one who thinks the villain in Fantom looks a little bit like Sting?

Margot responds:

I believe that Ralphus would be a very good reviewer for Maleficarum, regardless of his involvement with the production. He is part of that target audience we're aiming part of the movie to. His likes and dislikes are important and we, as a production team, would love to know how he feels about the end product. But as he said in his response to Canadian, it would be great if there are many who review the film.

We like the hype, but we also fear it. We know what happens when there's a lot of hype and the end product does not fulfill the expectations. We never do that, build the hype so much that there's some kind of high expectation for our films. We do our work, show it and then see the results.

With this film is different because of all the discussion it's generating, not only here, in this forum or this community, but also out there in the world, specially in this city where because of Jane's movie and JJ's past work, we're now the talk of the town.

But we're sure of our work, we're sure that it's going to make an impact even in those more demanding fans, like Ralphus. We're working very hard to that end.

And no, I don't think Fantom looks like Sting. I think Fantom has a more sinister look.

Good night.

Margot

Ralphus as reviewer:

Anytime someone has an investment in a project, whether it be time, money, ego, or desire to see it succeed or fail for personal reasons, there is an inherent conflict of interest (by definition) in that person making a recommendation. It really is immaterial whether that interest influences the judgement as that cannot be judged by the reader. HOWEVER, there is one easy way around this dilemma - the reviewer at the outset should simply disclose his interest and let the reader decide for himself how to judge the piece. In the case of Ralphus and Maleficarum we are all aware of the relationship between him and the production so we can all decide for ourselves. I would only suggest he states that at the beginning for newcomers to the forum who might not be aware of the situation. I for one would like to hear what he has to say.

I think that makes sense.

I had an offline discussion with Ralphus on Sunday, and I am comfortable he will approach this important task in an impartial manner. To avoid any type of misunderstanding, though, the disclosure you have mentioned would probably be helpful. Regular readers will already be aware of Ralphus's involvement, but occasional visitors (or people who find the review through a Google search) may not have that knowledge.

DHT - you say that WAVE film has a good hanging sequence - always on the lookout for those even if just for compilation material - thanks for the tip.

Margot - and as usual thanks for the update and stills - looks like you guys are really showing Jane the ropes.

Jane - don't know how sore you'll be after all this but one must suffer for one's art, no?

A Ralphus review on "Maleficarum" - Ralphus is a tough grade and will come down on the film if warranted - besides, everyone else will chime in with his take on it even if not in full blown review form.

Like you, I never quite understood what the definition of BDSM is, except that it seemed like people were getting beat up for fun (fun for both the beater and the beaten).

Maybe one way to look at it is this: BDSM is as BDSM does. This site does not bill itself as a BDSM site; rather it emphasizes fantasy bondage that is extreme. So GIMP is as GIMP does.

We had a bit of a discussion about this back in October 2009 and here's what I wrote about it then:

There are two very clear clues about what you will find here. One is the statement that we do not condone sexual violence. That means any references to violence here are pure fantasies.

The other sign, as Sardu pointed out, is that the name of the site is "Girls in Merciless Peril." That means we seek realistic-looking portrayals of fantasies that we would never condone or act out in real life. We certainly do not believe that the women in these films are actually being whipped, tortured, racked, nailed to trees or incinerated. These aspects evoke the sense of peril that makes the situation, for most if not all of us, arousing and exciting. Well, that and the fact that the victims are hot-looking, wear little or nothing, and well...you get the idea.

I wonder if you all feel those statements accurately describe the difference between BDSM and GIMP?

Review of Fantom

To start with this is an A film IMO.

The first minute plus which runs under the credits is merely a preamble to the video in which the Fantom chokes Jane into unconsciousness. When we next see her she is clad in the same undershirt and panties she was wearing in bed and lying on her stomach on a wooded floor, unconscious and blindfolded, with her wrists cuffed behind her, fastened to shackles that encase her ankles. Looking quite fetching I should add. In the next five minutes she is stripped naked and gagged with her panties, her torn undershirt being used to hold the panties in her mouth. This is a really good scene although not an awful lot happens, the reason being Jane’s whimpering and pleading. I am sure I will say it again below, but the reason this film is so good is mostly because of Jane’s performance.

Next the Fantom uses a riding crop on her, mostly on the soles of her bare feet. Then a rope is attached to her ankle shackles and her legs are hoisted upward until she is resting on her breasts. This emphasizes her hog tie. She is left that way to complain and groan into her gag. At 23 minutes into the film the Fantom comes back and removes the gag and gives her water in a doggy bowl which she tries to lap up in her awkwardly bound position. The bowl is removed and she is subjected to more bastinado and work on her body with the crop.

At 30 minutes she is released form the hog-tie and rebound with her arms still behind her back but stretched toward the ceiling. The blindfold is removed. This is good because Jane’s eyes are very expressive and she really manages to convey her fear and pain through them. She is made to squat over a chamber pot and pee. Then the rope is lifted higher and she must balance on the toes of her bare feet in a strappado position while she is whipped and raped. (Note: there is a full length mirror that is used to great effect in portions of the video to give a second POV.) She is then suspended AOH and whipped until she faints.

At an hour and ten minutes comes my favorite part of the video. Jane is suspended by her wrists and ankles in a U shaped position about three or four feet in the air with her back to the floor. I can't tell you how delicious she looks. In this position she is whipped and once again raped. Her struggles, pleading and sobbing are a work of art and do not let up until she faints. It is fifteen minutes of wonderful torment.

In the last scene, while she lies on her stomach unconscious, her ankles are shackled to a spreader bar and a thick wooden pole is laid across her shoulders. Her arms are tied to it in a crux position. She is then hoisted upright and whipped until finally the Fantom garrotes her from behind. The film is a little over one hour and fifty minutes long

The major assets of “Fantom”:

  • Jane is naked and beautiful throughout the film.
  • Her acting is her best yet.
  • The photography and sound are excellent. (There is an annoying flare spot at times but no big deal.)
  • JJ is quite good as the Fantom. The idea of him not speaking and wearing a mask works very well, especially in contrast to Jane’s pleading and crying and expressions of terror. Although I must dissent from the "villains who speak are losers" statement. E.g. Hannibal Lecter.
  • The uncluttered setting fits the action very well in contrast to some of RF’s earlier films.
  • I usually appreciate some attempt at a plot and here there is none except a good looking woman is kidnapped, tortured, raped and killed. For no apparent reason. Make up your own. It works for me.
  • The torture is not faked.
  • And once again at the hazard of becoming repetitious – Jane is simply wonderful.

    Two negatives:

  • When the whipping is not fake it sometimes looks as though the whipper is pulling his punches so to speak. I understand it would probably be asking a bit much of Jane to take a lash at full strength across her breasts, but sometimes the whipping can look a bit mannered.
  • The music. I can listen to John Cage with interest (for a while at least) but the score hear was nothing but annoying. Worse torture than anything Jane suffered I promise you. Thank God it was at a low level and therefore not overly intrusive.

To sum up, “Fantom” is my ATF (at least until it is replaced by Maleficarum, one would hope). Here is one vote of thanks to the Red Feline crew.

Esso: Many thanks for your review of Fantom. Wow, an A+! We don't get too many of those around here. I know I've never given one out.

And congratulations. Unless I am overlooking it, this is your first review to the forum, so you now become a card-carrying member of the GIMP Reviewer's Club. The link to your review is in my Homepage URL above.

I finally got my DVD of Fantom this morning, hand addressed by Jane, postmarked La Paz, Bolivia. I'll be taking a look at it some time this week and giving it my Official Ralphus Review sometimes afterward. I have no idea what kind of grade I'll be giving it, but the first batch of vidcaps from Jane look promising. I've only seen pictures from the first scene.

LTL wrote me last June, saying he sleeping better and hence didn't have the extra 2-3+ hours a day he used to have. He said he would be back "when things slow down some", whatever that means. That was 7 months ago. I miss the "Which One Has The GIMP" show, too. He hasn't replied to any subsequent e-mails since then.

And how about John Galt? This is a guy who disappeared for about the same amount of time a while back before he finally returned last year (on April Fool's Day, so I thought it was an imposter playing a trick). And he's doing it again, been gone without a peep for almost a month now, right before announcing he was going to review the new Delila Darling movie. Once again, no replies when I've written him. I hate to lose good posters, but worse that that, LTL and Galt are actually online friends of mine.

    --------------

Margot: Terrific update as usual, with great pictures of Jane being tortured on the horse. I understand why her arms are a bit lower, although visually, it's not as exciting. In this picture, for instance, she looks totally stretched out and helpless, as opposed to the newer ones where her arms are up, but not stretched as tightly. So the lowering of the are arms was done to ultimately make things more uncomfortable for Jane? I just hope it translates well to film.

Anyway, it's not that big a deal, it's more me living up to my reputation for being a nitpicker. Little things like that are important, though. But still, the pictures are awesome. I'm still wondering what happened to Jane on Friday that you teased us with, though. I can't imagine it's an easy task having to sit for hours at a time on a torture device like that. Especially with your ankles weighted down to increase the pain on her...ahem..."lady parts".

    Ralphus,

It is my first review and on second thought I might have been a bit over enthusiastic. That is not to say I didn't love Fantom, just that an A+ doesn't leave one any place to go in the future. After all Fantom wasn't perfect, and that is what an A+ should be for, no? So how about we change that rating to an A. Can do? Sorry for the inconvenience. Let's write it off to novice enthusiasm.

As you might gather, I'm strictly Old School. The modern product of PFK Studios and their ilk is not my cup ‘o tea (“Maleficarum” looks good and I enjoy sites like www.inquisitionlive.com). I like my “Fantasy” with a capital “F”; sheer escapism from the here and now is what it’s all about for me. And my fantasy females: in their skimpy bikinis, flimsy loincloths or the tattered vestiges of their frilly underwear; the gleaming girls who decorate dank dungeons; sinister Nazi torture cellars or the secret lairs of sadistic super villains bent on world domination.

It revives my inner child. Ah, the sweet fantasies of youth! The joy was in dwelling on them and elaborating and constructing them. In the dungeons of my imagination, I had my evil way with the girls in my high school class (UK –– 1966-73). I created games of chance: numbered lists – one of horrible tortures and another of the girls, my victims. I cut out the numbers on little bits of paper and put them in separate piles. I drew a number: number 12 – the Spanish Boot; number 9 – Pamela –––– … Or it would be execution time – select the girls by lot: Pamela, Helen and Jane. Then the method – death by water torture; roll the dice – Pamela drinks 4 pints – roll again: Helen drinks 2 pints – roll again: and Jane also drinks 2 pints – and so on and so forth until one girl had drunk a pre-determined lethal volume of water, at which point she burst (and the others were spared, till the next time).

We had no computers, no downloads, none of the vast resources of the Web. Just our imagination. And we had to feed off scraps. A neighbour’s son, a few years older than me, subscribed to a “Continental Cinema” magazine; once in a while there would be a still from one of those Italian or Spanish movies in which naked nuns fell foul of the Inquisition. A local news-store imported American horror movie magazines – one issue contained a reproduction of the poster for “Caged Virgins”; in grubby monochrome and the size of a postage stamp, but I cut it out and treasured it. A kid at school turned up with a genuine American “Man’s Adventure” magazine, stolen from his older brother. We drooled over it, in a secret corner of the playground. I begged, I pleaded; I offered to swap my most precious possessions; I would have sold him my soul, but he wouldn't part with it.

Above all, I could write, all I needed was a pen and paper. I kept a detailed diary of my games of chance and wrote short stories in which my nubile classmates endured every torment I could devise for them. My mother found one of my efforts. She didn't confront me with it, she simply corrected my spelling mistakes and put it back in its hiding place. I attempted some drawings, but they were laughable. It is my eternal frustration that I can't draw. There are some true masters out there, but they rarely capture my vision. And so back I come, again and again, to those old magazines…

    --------------

Dan Leissner: Thanks for hearkening us back to a simpler time when there was no Internet and GIMP pleasures were few and far between. When I was a kid, I had an imagination, but I don't think I even knew about things like the Spanish Boot or water torture. Doesn't mean I didn't fantasize about the girls in school, but they were mostly rape fantasies back then. I never saw those old men's magazines until I came on to the Internet years later. I don't think I knew much about sexual torture until I saw my first bondage magazine, and then my first HOM bondage videos from Blakemore. Around that same time I discovered the joy of collecting rape and bondage scenes in mainstream movies and I've been hooked ever since.

Here's a blast from the past...the full-sized poster for Caged Virgins that you mentioned. A little larger than a postage stamp this time.

Ralphus - concerning the "Caged Virgins" poster - I saw the film on the drive-in curcuit in the early 70's - there is a scene vaguely similar to the poster but not nearly as appealing - here's the rub - I know I was seeing a sanitized version of the original cut to shreds for American consumption as the Euro version runs about 15 minutes longer - so if some of those cuts were to the dungeon scene it may have been worthwhile - otherwise, the movie is pretty much a yawn fest unless one needs to quench a desire for numerous lesbian sex scenes.

Dan Leissner: you sick fuck...but enough of the compliments. There was a book written I would say 30 years ago, the title of which escapes me, about China I believe in the time of Marco Polo. In this there was a description of a torture used on Chinese women which sounded a lot like your literary game with girl students. The torturer also had two lottery baskets, one holding a part of the body and the other the form of torture - burning, crushing, slicing, etc. He would make his selection, say "left nipple, burn" carry out the torture and move on to the next luck of the draw.

In your previous post you spoke of Emma Peel, aka Diana Rigg, now Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg. Being from Israel I am sure you know she was married to an Israeli artist for a few years (I think in the 80s) and I believe lived in Israel for a time. I absolutely feasted on The Avengers, and not only for the occasional bondage and torture threats to its heroine. I even owned a Lotus Elan for a number of years (Emma's car).

As far as the men's magazines such as Man's Story, Men Today, World of Men, etc., they were the staple of my erotic fantasies back in the 60s and 70s. There weren't a lot of other choices I was aware of. Occasionally a mainstream paperback would live up to a lurid cover (albeit in passages way too short). I can still remember one sentence almost verbatim, "She was dragged naked and screaming to the torture mound." Had to do with American Indians. In any case I have a couple of hundred of these mags bought over the years on eBay and occasionally amuse myself Photo Shopping the covers and rewriting the stories in more graphic detail. (Too many of them included sentences like "What they did to her next does not bare repeating." Still they were great and hold up today.

Ralphus: I will stand by my A rating for Fantom. One thing I think I neglected to mention in the review was that the film is almost two hours in length. If there are parts (and there always are) that do not please, one simply skips to the parts that do. At that length there are plenty to choose from.

Gonzaullus: Wow, that's gotta be the most brutal whipping I've ever seen. I like the beginning when the dude drags her across the floor and then rips her dress open. Thanks for posting that.

Today's Pics: Mmmmm...would you look at that. Sharp, cold steel against soft, female flesh. I like it! And more clothes-ripping! Gawdamitey, this is making me sweat. Excuse me...

    -------

Okay, gotta weigh in on the GIMP Poll: Personally, I don't care what happens to the villain, as long as it happens after we've seen him torment some lovely victim. Even the victim-vengeance scenario is okay. But I think if the victim does get revenge, it should be in a way that is at least as torturous as the original assault. On the way to giving the villain his comeuppance, she should have to go through hell. Clothes-ripping, panic-causing, body-beating, skin-lashing, scream-inducing hell. Yeah, that's the ticket. Camille Keaton got her revenge a little too easily, IMO.

esso, regarding your comment that the men's magazines such as Man's Story, Men Today, World of Men, etc., were the staple of your erotic fantasies back in the 60s and 70s, I remember those days well. I used to fantasize that the artists who drew the covers MUST have drawn covers in which the heroine’s artistically draped clothing was altogether missing, which led to other fantasies in which I managed to get copies of those mythical (and almost certainly nonexistent) drawings. Alas, as with most such fantasies, it was not to be, and my attempts to somehow draw them myself were of such inferior quality that I gave up in disgust.

The stories, however, were another item altogether, even if the heroines were either rescued from “A Fate Worse Than Death” or that “Fate” was treated in the skimpiest of detail. If I couldn't draw, I could still write, and, like you, I often rewrote the stories from those magazines in more graphic detail. If you're interested in comparing notes, you can contact me by email. As for your paperback reference where “She was dragged naked and screaming to the torture mound,” I must have missed that one. Rats!

I also am a great fan of “The Avengers.” I was in high school when the show hit U.S. TV, and I and all my friends were in love with Emma Peel/Diana Rigg. We had NEVER seen a female on TV who exuded such undiluted sex appeal. Of course, the shows were also funny and entertaining, with that tongue-in-cheek humor that the Brits do so well. I have DVDs of the shows and I still watch them.

So I was on the IMDB tonight and stumbled across a trailer for a new John Carpenter film called The Ward. Anybody heard anything about it? Apparently it hasn't opened up in theatres yet since the trailer says January. Anyway, the movie stars the magically babelicious Amber Heard as an unwilling patient in a mental ward, which just happens to be inhabited by nothing but other hot young women (yeah, that's realistic). If you check out the trailer, a few of them are shown bound and screaming. And saving the best for last, Amber is put in a straight-jacket and given electrical shock! It goes by in a flash on the trailer but I made some caps.

    http://ralphus.net/database/azelectro/ward.html

I have no idea if the scene will be any good, since Carpenter has never been known as a GIMP-friendly director. But still, it is Amber Heard getting shocked, which makes it a must-see in my book.

Esso: That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said about me. We must have read the same book: that elaborate Chinese torture scene was the direct inspiration for my games. Speaking of paperbacks, a rare treat was the occasional example of “trash fiction” that surfaced amongst the grimy paperbacks in a corner news-store. Deserving of special mention is a series written under the pseudonym of Rod Gray: featuring all-action heroine Eve Drum, “The Lady From L.U.S.T.” (the League for Underground Spies and Terrorists). The lusty Miss Drum would be subjected to brutal torture at least once in every tale, albeit all too briefly. I only ever found one or two of these precious volumes back in The Day, but I now have a small collection, spanning 1967-1975.

However, my true epiphany came with this famous passage from Ian Fleming’s “Thunderball” (1961) – the book is so much better than the movie:

“…He closed the door and locked it. Here also, a red riding light hung from the ceiling. Under it, on the double bunk, the girl lay offered like a starfish, her ankles and wrists strapped to the four corners of the ironwork below the mattress. Largo put the icebox down on the chest of drawers and balanced the cigar carefully beside it so that the glowing tip would not spoil the varnish.

The girl watched him, her eyes glittering red points in the semi-darkness.

Largo said, ‘My dear, I have had great enjoyment out of your body, much pleasure. In return, unless you tell me who gave you that machine to bring on board, I shall be forced to cause you great pain. It will be caused with these two simple instruments,’ he held up the cigar and blew on the tip until it glowed brightly, ‘this for heat and these ice cubes for cold. Applied scientifically, as I shall apply them, they will have the inevitable effect of causing your voice, when it has stopped screaming, to speak, and speak the truth. Now then. Which is it to be?’

The girl’s voice was deadly with hate. She said, ‘You killed my brother and you will now kill me. Go on and enjoy yourself. You are already a piece of death yourself. When the rest of it comes, very soon, I pray God, you will suffer a million times more than both of us.’

Largo’s laugh was a short, harsh bark. He walked over to the edge of the bunk. He said, ‘Very well, my dear. We must see what we can do with you, very softly and very, very slowly.’

He bent down and hooked his fingers in the neckline of her shirt and the join of the brassiere. Very slowly, but with great force, he tore downwards, the whole length of her. Then he threw aside the torn halves of material and exposed the whole gleaming length of her body. He examined it carefully and reflectively and then went to the chest of drawers and took the cigar and the bowl of ice cubes and came back and made himself comfortable on the edge of the bunk.

Then he took a puff at the cigar, knocked the ash off onto the floor and leant forward…”

And thus I learned that it could be done with refinement and with class; that torture was a suitable pastime for a gentleman.

…and of course one mustn’t spoil the varnish…!

The question about someone dying at the end of GIMP vid to me is a big negative to both victim and torturer. I guess if a story line has to be played out it makes no difference to me. Someone referenced the Avengers and Diana Rigg. That's a perfect example of who cares. We know that the good guys will prevail to next week's episode but it did not deter me from hoping for more GIMP material.

I also referenced the scenes from Thunderball when Bond's lady was tied up and ice and cigarette were used to get info from her. I knew Bond was going to come to the rescue but the scene set me in search of other GIMP moments. Keeping me up to 2 AM to see those old movies with Peter Cushing and the rest before cable. BDSM is easy to understand if you realize there are three parts to it. B is for bondage -- which could be anything from symbolic bondage (collars, etc) to shabari to chaining someone to a wall. D is for dominance -- the Master/slave dynamic. And SM is for Sado-Masochism, inflicting and liking pain. Again, this is across a wide spectrum, from spanking to torture. In a healthy relationship, all of these are done in a consensual power-sharing.

Put it this way: Girls drinking water from a doggie bowl is D (B&D if they're tied). Girls drinking piss from a doggie bowl crosses into the S&M territory.

There are a lot more people into B&D than into S&M (and even more are into M&Ms!). So most sites are going to be "love" bondage heavy, with emphasis on consent. It's not that hard to figure out if you spend any time at all on Fetish.Net.

    ===============================

Sloth: HT - you say that WAVE film has a good hanging sequence - always on the lookout for those even if just for compilation material - thanks for the tip.

Orgasmagoria has some decent hangings. They're not hard to find, but impossible to buy. The guy who runs NicheClips is the former owner, and has clearly stated that he doesn't care what happens with them.

Ralphus - that trailer for "The Ward" looks interesting - and while it may be unrealistic, it is nice to have the looney bin stocked with hot young chicks rather than the bloated, toothless automatons that normally populate such arenas.

Love discussions concerning men's adventure mags - always had two favorite cover artists on those - Norm Eastman who seemingly did endless works used on "Man's Story" and John Duillo whose work appears on many of the "Man's Epic" issues - favorite "author" on the medieval dungeon stories contained within was Cranston Lamont - he simply refused to be bound by those crippling conventions of grammar and clarity.

YikYakker - yeah, seen a number of Rollin efforts, each more boring than the last - probably one of those Euro directors who viewed film as an art form rather than simply as entertainment.

Dan: As far as James Bond goes let us not forget Dr. No. In the book, as I remember, Honey Rider is staked out on the beach to be devoured by crabs but is rescued by Bond. It doesn't happen in the movie but she is spread eagled in a spillway to be drowned, a rather poor substitute. Also - and I think it might have been in Dr. No (the movie) as well Bond and Bond girl (Honeychile?) are tied together and slowly lowered into a shark pool after his arm has been cut to attract the sharks. There are a few other bondage scenes in the JB movies, all rather tame of course.

I have almost without exception been disappointed in books that purported to be heavy on the GIMP matter. Usually the problem was too little too tame. I vaguely remember the Ron Gray books but don't think I ever read one, as hard to believe as that is. They are available on eBay. Are they worth the $10 or so one might be able to get them for?

Do you have any idea what the name of the book with the Chinese torture in it was? As I remember it was a fairly well reviewed work.

And while we are on the subject of books, there was a series of books featuring Commander Amanda Nightingale by George Revelli. There were at least five books in the series and were more or less mainstream. She suffers some pretty interesting tortures including being caned between her legs and having initials carved in her breasts by a woman's razor sharp finger nail. But as with most of this genre, there is all too little per book, a few pages at best.

Dan, Bleumune & Sloth: I don't have time now but will continue on the Man's Story etc. in the near future. All I have to say right now is Chuck McCarthy.

Esso: “Doctor No” – yes indeed, another gentleman with an interesting hobby:

“…’Silence!’ Doctor No’s voice was the crack of a whip. ‘Enough of this foolery. Of course it will hurt. I am interested in pain. I am also interested in finding out how much the human body can endure. From time to time I make experiments on those of my people who have to be punished. And on trespassers like yourselves. You have both put me to a great deal of trouble. In exchange I intend to put you to a great deal of pain. I shall record the length of your endurance. The facts will be noted. One day my findings will be given to the world. Your deaths will have served the purposes of science. The German experiments on live humans during the war were of great benefit to science. It is a year since I put a girl to death in the fashion I have chosen for you, woman. She was a Negress. She lasted three hours. She died of terror. I have wanted a white girl for comparison…”

You’d probably be disappointed by the Eve Drum books. In the “sex and violence” equation the bias is heavily towards the “sex”. But they are collector’s items. I remember Amanda Nightingale well (an agent sent by the British into Nazi occupied France in WW II) and the sheer vigour and relish with which those scenes were written. I recall a scene in which, midway through an arduous torture session, the Gestapo chief comments: “it’s a pity that we don’t have the electricity; all that sweat would conduct the current wonderfully…”. And I was thinking; “Doh! Whaddya mean ya don’t have the electricity! Rats!”

There was also a paperback novel called, I think, “The Specialist”, or something like that, about a top Nazi interrogator, whose specialty was electricity. I got my money’s worth with that one. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the book with the Chinese torture.

When not amusing myself with my female classmates in the dungeons of my imagination, I would diligently copy out favourite passages from the books and magazines. And I would write my own, pages and pages of it. I still have drawers full of my scribblings, going back to the 1970s. Maybe one day I’ll inflict the best bits on you all.

esso and Dan, have you read any of Johnny Ringo books? They're full of rape, bondage and torture, but a lot of the girls **like** it. Boo! Some very nice writing undone by consent. There is, however, a few short passages at Chapter 7 and 8 of "Ghost" (free online - above). Here's a fun bit:

"Clarissa had been raped by two of the soldiers, then tortured with electricity and had her skin stripped off in spots, then two more soldiers raped her in the mouth and ass, then she was tortured again and so on."

Alas, the girls get rescued immediately after this.

jhlipton: Bah! That stuff is too modern for me.

The "consent" issue is quite amusing. Years ago, I delved occasionally into vintage CP mags, like "Janus". One day, there was an editorial announcement on the front page - some mysterious authority had decreed that from then on, all of the activities described had to have that element of consent. So, it went from the naughty girl being dragged struggling and screaming to receive her 30 whacks and "THWAT! Aaaaarrrghhh!!! No, please, don't....!" to the girl skipping along with great enthusiasm and "THWAT! "Oooooo! Thank you, sir...that really turns me on...!" Daft!

I have and will always want my victim to survive. She can be a little bloodied, but not limb or life threatening. The main trouble with most commercial films with a "Damsel in Distress" theme is the victim is rescued before any molesting, rape or torture has been applied to her. In my opinion if the film is going to be good, the victim should be bound, stripped, molested, raped and tortured before being rescued.

Then yes, the villain should be killed off as the victim is being rescued.

Unless there is to be a sequel.

Tarl's 120-pic slideshow presents a very salacious-looking tableau of two women getting a Japanese-style workout from some gleeful villains. Good stuff, except for a huge and elaborate tattoo on the shoulder of one of the victims. She gets a lot of stuff inserted into her, including a very green banana (ooo...they're much harder when they're not ripe).

DHT: I've seen Gone the Way of Flesh. The trailer you linked gives you an idea of how low budget and cheesy it is. Low budget is not always a bad thing, but in this case, I found nothing good to recommend GIMP-wise in this film. Typical of Troma, it's poorly filmed and pretty much garbage. In fact, this was one of my finalists when I picked the Bill Zebub Award for Worst Film of the Year.

    ----------------

Tarl: YikYakker has the right movie but the wrong title. It's actually called Rope and Skin, a Nikkatsu film from 1979, and it was the final movie of the legendary Japanese bondage star, Naomi Tani. I recognized the description when he mentioned the tattoo and the getting a banana stuffed inside her (along with some eggs). And then once I saw the pics on your site, that confirmed it.

Here's a review I found online of the movie. It's a real good movie, worth seeking out if you can find it.

A while back I made a page for the Rape Database of the rape scene in the movie. That's in my Homepage URL above. I liked the subtitled dialogue so I included that in the pictures.

    Hey gang,

Found a potentially excellent GIMP-worthy movie, whose plot is described as: A psychotic priest travels through an idyllic suburban landscape and uses his collar to secure the trust of a series of beautiful young women before subjecting them to increasingly sadistic bouts of sexual assault.

From what I can tell, he puts most of his efforts into coming up with the titles for his films, and even that seems amateurish and juvenile. For example, the only people likely to be offended by his 2004 movie, Jesus Christ: Serial Rapist, probably aren't aware of his films. If he really wanted to be edgy in this day and age, he might want to try something with Muhammad in the title.

A bit of an update about Maleficarum: Thursday we left the Spanish Horse and moved on to something else. I'm stretched spread-eagle with huge rocks tied to my ankles. And then burned with hot pokers. As if the Spanish Horse wasn't painful enough. I was very sore all weekend. We'll have a few more scenes, some close shots, and other scenes with the witnesses in the dungeon and then... we'll be ready to burn me at the stake. Physically, it's not as demanding as the torture scenes, but it's a complicated scene and puts a lot of emphasis on my acting.

It's absolutely wonderful to see the pictures from Fantom at the top of the page here. So I'll talk a little bit about Fantom. As some of you may know it's our first feature length movie made without blood. But we go a bit further in this one, we don't use any special effects. So, no make-up, no sound effects. It's all real.

A while back a few fans were talking here and there and a few more emailed me asking if we were going to do another movie like Training Jane. Training Jane is one DVD which shows two different movies, two different moments in which JJ and I did some improvisation with the whip and bondage, suspension, etc. Like Fantom, it's all real, but totally unrehearsed. Some fans wanted a movie that had a bit of plot and was much longer but had the same premise, that the whipping is real.

So that's exactly what we did. Because of this and because of the numerous torture we thought up for this one, it's a very intense movie. I go through a lot, I think I was testing myself in a way, much like I'm doing now in Maleficarum. The other side of Fantom was that I wanted to challenge myself with a different kind of scenario. My character is kidnapped by a psycho and tortured, taunted, humiliated to the point where she loses a part of herself. There is never a moment in which she doesn't feel fear, loathing, panic. It was emotionally exhausting to shoot because of these elements.

In Agent X my character has a different arc, I go from being a tough agent to a pleading, crying, screaming female. In Fantom, I go through a different series of emotions. My character is not someone like an agent, who is trained to withstand torture and humiliation. My character in Fantom is a woman who is kidnapped from her bed and subjected to brutal relentless torture, humiliation, and rape. The only thing that keep her going is the belief that this guy might let her go. But even she doesn't really believe that he will let her go. The fantom taunts her, plays with her, making her twist and turn physically and emotionally for his enjoyment. It's incredibly sick...

Sloth wrote: don't know how sore you'll be after all this but one must suffer for one's art, no?
I'm really sore. But, yes, suffering for one's art is worth it.

Esso - Thank you so much for the wonderful review. Giving me an A instead of an A+ gives me inspiration to improve even more.

Esso wrote: Jane is simply wonderful.

Dan Leissner - Welcome to the GIMP. I was corrupted early on by Ian Fleming. That and gothic novels. I'm not sure that anyone even knows what they are anymore (hint, nothing to do with "Goths").

Badger wrote: Gotta agree with Yik Yakker about today's pic. To me, Jane's beauty alone starts Fantom at a B+ . It can only go up from there.

    Sinister forces are at work.

No longer can I sit idly by in forced silence and endure the savage demonization of one of the visionary film directors of this or any other era, Bill Zebub.

Yes, no great artist is appreciated in his lifetime. Witness Paul Gauguin, despised by the Tahitians he claimed to adore as an arrogant, no talent she-male. Just as Gauguin could could take the simplest scene and create a jumbled mess that bore no resemblance to reality, so goes Zebub.

Blurring that fine line between art and artifice he alone has managed to combine all the worst aspects of post-impressionism, film noir and just plain bad movie making into a single film genre. Is there another director who can take the simplest storyline and dialogue and turn it into a trash heap of biblical proportions? I think not.

It is time this forum stand on principle and make a statement. We cannot allow this right-wing talk radio inspired hate speech to to destroy the creativity and vision of the totally misunderstood master of cinema, Bill Zebub.

    Stay well all

Yeah, yeah. I should have dropped by sooner, but I've had an exhausting time shooting Maleficarum. And thank you for the lovely promotion of Fantom!

Hmm.. why do I feel like you're trying to draw me out with your critique of the Spanish Horse scene? I do understand where you're coming from based on the still pictures Margot posted of me on the Horse. However, JJ lowered my hands for a reason which I am about to tell you all. The first day that we shot the Spanish Horse scene, my arms were stretched very tight over my head and I was whipped. The purpose of the tight stretching was to give me a little help when it came to sitting on the Horse. It didn't work, but that's not the reason my arms were lowered.

That night when JJ was looking at the dailies (the daily camera reels) he noticed something. While my stretched body may have looked nice in one still photo, it did not work for the moving picture. I mean, I was up on a Spanish Horse, weights on my ankles, being whipped brutally and I couldn't move. It's not visually appealing when a person is on the Horse being whipped and the only thing they can move is their head. You want to see movement, my body rocking backward and forward on the Horse, the sharp edge cutting into my lady parts, twisting and turning from the whip, trying vainly to avoid the pain coming from all directions... right? JJ isn't making up for anything in the following scene. There's a progression in the movie through the tortures. Each one is more brutal and horrible than the last.

So, since I'm here, I'll comment a little on the scene in Fantom where I'm forced to pee in front of my captor. Up to this point I've endured being menaced with a knife, my clothes being cut and ripped off, a painful hogtie, bastinado, and general taunting and humiliation. But it's when he takes the blindfold off, puts my arms in a strappado and makes me pee into a chamber pot that things get even more horrible for my character. You could say that it's a turning point. My character really freaks out with this, she has to pee, doesn't want to in front of this psycho, but ultimately has to do so. There is something that is broken when that happens. She realizes a bit more that this guy has some nasty things in store for her.

Also, a little aside about the part of Fantom when he menaces me with the knife. When JJ and I were shooting this scene it was incredibly frightening for me for real. There has to be a lot of trust between two people to shoot a scene in which one is blindfolded and hogtied on the floor and the other is holding a real knife. Not a prop knife, a real one. With which he intends to cut one's clothes off. I was scared that I would move suddenly and he might accidentally cut me for real. Basically, I was feeling what a person in that situation would feel. I can't even describe the amount of adrenaline that coursed through my body. The thoughts that went through my head. Intense stuff. I worked with those feelings and brought that across for the movie.

Jane: May I say how elegantly you adorn the Spanish Horse. It would be a privilege to entertain you in my dungeon; if only I had one.

Esso: Yes, I’ve always been an archivist. I have a kind of scrapbook of excerpts from books and magazines, going back to the early 70s; all faithfully written out (unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me to make a note of the sources). I keyed in some of the best bits recently and it came to 18 fun-filled pages. Here’s an example:

“A turn of the rack. A ghastly shriek. A spin of the drums, the ropes tightened and squeaked. Pain unbearable shot through her limbs and scorched her joints. Another turn. Agonized sweat rolled over her body. Her taut body could not even writhe, could only quiver. The drums swung back a half-turn and tightened with a jerk. Suffering indescribable tore into her. Her whole body ached with tearing pains. Her body seemed and immense pain. A pause. Then she felt the ropes grip wrists and ankles, and heard the sharp creak of machinery in motion. A sudden tearing pain wrenched her limbs and body, a pain that grew to unbearable agony, so that she sweated, and her mouth opened to emit sounds more animal than human. There was not even the ease of writhing against the agony, for her muscles were so stretched that the slightest movement was impossible. Only her horrible agonizing shrieks rang out again and again…”

I also found a few surviving examples of stories that I wrote in my teens – I’m a better writer now, but I’ve never grown up.

I trust you and JJ are doing the right thing when you re-shot the first day on the Horse again with the arms a bit lower. What you ended up with will no doubt work better as a movie because of those changes.

Once again, I love hearing the first-hand reports of what you were going through during the shoots. It really adds to the whole viewing experience knowing the actress was really scared and suffering while it was being filmed.

And Ulli Lommel ironically won this year's Bill Zebub Award for Worst Film of the Year with Borderline Cult. The difference is that back in the 1980s, Lommel actually made at least 2 films with legitimate GIMP-worthy scenes, The Boogeyman and The Devonsville Terror, which was chock full of good stuff, especially for BATS perverts. I think since his muse Suzanna Love divorced him, he's been coasting on his reputation. I would love to see him turn it around, since his heart is definitely in the right place. But this last film was truly awful.

Ulli Lommel: It wasn't just Borderline Cult that sucked shit, I also saw his BTK Killer film and it was fucking pathetic. His heart is NOT in the right place. He's had this actress Danielle Petty in three of his movies and performed no acts of perversion upon her whatsoever. In the proper hands, just a five minute scene could have made one of those movies worth watching and owning, and made her a legend amongst us like Natalie Avital (I refuse to say "ala"), but apparently the thought of stuffing a ballgag in her mouth or putting a collar around her neck, or tying her arms over her head, or hanging her, or ANYTHING never occurred to him. A WASTE. Were his heart in the right place he would have used these movies which were perfect gimp opportunities to deliver SOMETHING. It's not like he's working in the wrong genre, for fck's sake. To fck up movies like those for us you have to just truly not give a shit about what you're doing.

Finally got a chance to view Red Feline's "Fantom" - while a nice view I didn't find it to be one of their superior efforts and am not nearly as high on it as our friend esso - so while I may be hammered by enraged fans here it comes.

It has a run time equal to a feature length motion picture and a limited amount of material to cover - to me, this is a case where less is more - too much fill time IMHO.

I have seen enough of JJ on camera to realize he is not going to suddenly morph into the eye-patch inquisitor in "Poor Cecily" going about his duties with glee - but the whipping sequence seemed, well.....mechanical - I know he's trying to multi-task his several responsibities during the production and most likely found the kabuki mask disconcerting but still.

Finally, and this is probably simply nit-picking on my part, I could not understand why Jane remains blindfolded for such a length of time - her expressions are an enormous part of the fantasy and without the looks of apprehension and fear it detracted from the effort - after all, the eyes are the windows to the soul.

On the plus side Jane is very convincing, is subjected to a wide variety of bondage positions and torments and is lovely as always - and she gets whacked in the end which is always a happy ending.

So, you now have another point of view and reference points on the production - I found the "Emerald" series and "Agent X" to be superior to this one.

    Stay well all

I found XRG studios on NicheClips -- their specialty is rape, and from the stills it looks non-consensual (there's one where the woman ends up liking it, but that seems to be the exception). Looks high quality, too. There's a couple that end in snuff, but the girl lives in most. If you're into rape, it might be worth-while to check out their store.

Yeah, that's usually the problem I have with Red Feline's movies. I think Jane is terrific but J.J.'s performances often seem uninspired. In one movie -- I can't recall which one -- he had one hand in his pocket while he was whipping his victim. Talk about appearing less than enthusiastic about your work.

I hope the guy they've got playing the villain in Maleficarum is able to deliver. Otherwise, the movie could fall flat, even with Jane's acting and Ralphus's creative input.

Well, thank you! Some poeple have really liked Fantom and others haven't as much. The general consensis being that it's pretty cool to watch me being whipped, raped and killed for almost 2 hours. You can't please everyone all of the time. Do you mean "The Perils of Jane in the Green Inferno"? I'm not really sure what the Emerald series is...

Thank you for the terrific part! If you can believe it, many of our fans have written us about how they prefer JJ's perfomance to a lot of the overacting they see in other movies. I personally think there can be a balance between the two, but in these kinds of films I think it's more about the girl getting tied up, beaten, raped and killed (or an assortment of those elements). In a mainstream film, like Maleficarum, where you have a budget and thus time to direct the actors, as JJ is doing very well, you have a different result. It's worth it to spend the time with the actors. JJ is a really amazing director of documentaries and mainstream feature films. And in my mainstream film, Barbazul, his acting was simply fabulous. Really. Sometimes an actor has a harder time directing themselves.

The next Red Feline film that we're shooting is going to be a little different than the others. For starters, I'm directing it. Yes, fascinating. And Mila will be the victim. The story is based a bit on the Marquis de Sade. I figured that we have this wonderful dungeon with all sorts of terrible instruments and my mind went to naughty places. Poor Mila, she's really going to get it.

"A German porn star went into a coma and died after undergoing her sixth breast enlargement. Carolin Berger, who used the stage name "Cora" in adult films, underwent the cosmetic surgery in an attempt to boost her popularity, the Daily Mail reported today. The 23-year-old blond beauty was in a medically induced coma for nine days before dying Thursday from complications following a surgery to increase her chest size from 34F to 34G."

I have been traveling the past week so have not kept up with the various postings. For the moment this will have to do.

Sloth - First off let me say that Agent X is an ATF. One thing it has that Fantom does not is a discernable plot line, and interrogation is my favorite for reasons I could go into at another time. However if the downtime in Fantom bothers how can the same in Agent X not. If memory serves, Jane is knocked unconscious six times. Also, this part of any of the films is not a great impediment to my enjoyment as long as there is plenty of GIMP time, which at almost 2 hours Fantom has. One only needs to use the skip buttons.

I must agree with you on JJ but I think his performance in Fantom has move the needle all the way up to almost acceptable. Or maybe almost almost acceptable.

As far as the blindfold, I like it in the limited use it receives, but please let's not do another poll.

Bluemune. I did receive your story but have not had a chance to read it as my time and access to the computer have been restricted. Thanks and I will get back to you in a day or two.

    Catching up on previous posts...

InterrogationMaster: Nice find on Rope and Skin. It's hard to find those old Nikkatsu movies anywhere, so to find the entire film for online streaming is great. I already have the film on DVD, but it's good for others to see, since, like you say, there's some really good material in that one.

    --------------

Sloth: Thanks for your comments on Fantom. As one who's seen the film, my opinions are a lot closer to your take than they are to Esso's, but I think all 3 of us agree that Jane is a fantastic victim in the movie and seeing her suffer for nearly 2 hours makes it a worthwhile view.

    --------------

jhlipton: I've seen at least one of the clips of that XRG Studios site and I can tell you I was very disappointed with the video quality of the one movie I downloaded, Garage Rape. I'm not sure how they got such sharp scans on their site because the movie doesn't even look close to that good. It looks like it was shot in the early 1990s and has about the same video resolution they were using back then. I felt pretty ripped off...19 bucks I'll never see again.

Ever since I downloaded the latest movie from PKF off Kinky Clips, they send me daily e-mails that have new teaser stills to click on of all the movies and companies they deal with. It's a smart move, since there are quite a few and I've bought stuff through them a few times. But after the Garage Rape disaster, I'm a lot more hesitant because I don't know what kind of quality I'm gonna get.

One of their recent offerings almost had me bite the bullet. It's a short clip from Badman Productions Studio (no, I've never heard of them, either). Check it out:
    http://www.kinky-clips.com/0000265/the-interrogation-shocked-p-15.html

The girl's pretty cute, she gets electro-shocked, but once again, I didn't want to get ripped off by a download that wasn't good quality. The movie is available in 4 parts. This one is $3.99 for only 3 minutes. I don't like paying more than a buck a minute, but I thought, okay, we'll take a chance and see if the quality is worthwhile, then I'll order the rest of the movie. But then as I was checking out, they tack on a "service fee" bringing the price up to $5.29! For a goddamned 3-minute download! So I canceled.

I know, I know, it's pocket change, but I don't like being gouged. It's the principle of the thing.

    --------------

A Canadian: "Nobody pays for porn anymore". Hey, I don't have a problem with paying producers for their work, but it's situations like what I just described that turn me off. So much porn is available on the net if you know where to look, and for a lot of people, it's way too tempting to grab something for free rather than paying for it. I don't blame them.

Who I blame instead are those who upload the material in the first place. Maybe they feel like a big shot when someone they don't know thanks them for giving away someone else's copyrighted material for free. I can guarantee if they made the movie in the first place, they wouldn't be quite so willing to give this stuff away. But since they don't give a shit about the producers, they just merrily roll along stealing their work over and over. And decent people who have a conscience and try to do the right thing by actually paying for their entertainment are looked down upon as silly and stupid. It's a strange world.

Hi all. Been away from Gimp for a few weeks...just caught up. Esso has the right idea. There MUST be a reason for torture. And interrogation is my favorite as I think he said it was his. The rack is also my favorite means of getting information from a defiant woman. Not only the slow, but very slow stretching (a notch at a time), but also so many things can be added to the torture. Overhead, heated nipple clips, glowing irons in ashen coals which fill a smoking brazier situated next to the rack. A reddish glow on her sweating body as perspiration drips off her straining, spread eagled body. A look of pain, but still defiance in her eyes as the rack is tightened again...a sweating, muscular masked interrogator, his muscles bulging as he leans on the crank. Another guard, lifting out a glowing iron from the pile of glowing coals in the brazier. A low, guttural moan coming from the woman's throat as she tries her best not to have the Interrogator hear her scream as he leans over her and whispers in her ear to tell all she knows.

This is what I call an exciting scene...not some of the set ups I've looked at which were posted over the last two or three weeks. With the exception of Margot, whose film, with Jane, I cannot wait to see. I don't enjoy seeing women tied up in someone's kitchen or garage...get them at a dime a dozen anywhere on line...boooorrring. Oh, where are those directors with imagination and know how to make a good "torture" film...and just a personal preference...I don't like "DEATH" scenes...if there has to be an ending to the film, she doesn't die. She is either saved by a hero, or she breaks and talks. Who wants to see a woman hanging by her neck, dead...what a turn off...Keep up the good work Margot, Jane and JJ.

mserotics: I'm pretty much in total agreement with you. I think an interrogation scene is the most realistic way to sell a torture scene. And I'm not a fan of death scenes but will put up with them (as in the PKF clips) if need be.

Ralphus: Thanks for the heads up on that AOH electro scene from the Badman. I may have to bite the bullet on 3 of the 4 clips.

Speaking of AOH interrogation scenes, I recently decided to commission my 5th custom. This time, starring Daphne Michelle from the above site (she's also featured in the "Last Breath" nicheclips store). She's pretty hot and did a decent job in "The Demise of Justice Girl", so I'm hoping things go a little better/rougher this time.

Mstrerotics: Yes I did say interrogation was my favorite scenario for a torture scene, and it is by far. But it is for a lot more than it being the reason for torture rather than just some random happening. I believe that the main attraction for many of us (well, at least me) addicted to this kind of sexual enjoyment is not the infliction of pain, but rather a matter of control of the sex object. And that control is made so much more potent when it is realized over fierce and desperate resistance. That is why the stakes must be perceived to be high. Money? Come on. Who is not going to sing about the hidden loot when they start tearing out your toenails. A cause, a belief, not betraying a loved one, being burned at the stake. One can easily envision tough resistance to even terrible torture when that is what is at risk. When the beautiful victim screams out the location of the rebels which includes her sister she has been broken, that is, conquered. She now belongs in every sense to the interrogator (you).

Control is the reason why bondage can be so important. And I believe this is true of women who get off on this as well – there is no need to worry about ingrained inhibitions, one can not be blamed for violating taboos when they have been forced to cede control. OK, this is a little shallow but I really don't have the gumption to go into it any further. And BTW, like most things, I do not believe that what I have said is the rule for everybody.

Bleumune: Read your story and thought you did an excellent job (Even if it wasn't about an interrogation. Just kidding. See below.) Thanks. I guess the one difference between us is that I like to excise the parts that had nothing to do with the torture and condense them into a sentence or two to give it some little continuity.

About what theme is best for GIMP movies, I have to say interrogation is great but a little challenge is good to. One of my fav's is an Insex clip with Maintrain hooked up to two well placed electrodes. She was given a spelling test and being English as a second language person it was pretty easy to stump her. As soon as she uttered the wrong letter her breasts got a real good shock. In another favorite a girl is whipped and if she screams her friend gets a shock to her pinned labia. It's from Elite Pain.

Another update (opus) from Margot, as promised.

Another few days of shooting Maleficarum have passed. A few more days of torture for Jane and Mila, a few more days of breathing the thick smoke in a dark dungeon, a few more days of getting closer to the end of the shooting. The end doesn't seem to be so far now, as when we began.

Even then, at the beginning, when we thought the production of the big budget inquisition movie would be fairly fast, it seemed long. Later, when we realized that we still had a long road ahead of us, it seemed even longer. Not now. We're getting there, even if we stop at times.

The work slowed down a bit these days because of the complications in the scenes. Burning with a hot iron is not easy when you want to show the details of the iron smoldering the precious skin of a girl such as Jane. When you want the smoke of her burning flesh come up from the very spot where the hot iron is being applied. And it's not only one spot. It's five or six of them and every time the hot iron is pressed against the skin, the smoke raises and when the hot iron is removed the ugly burning mark is there for all to see.

That's a lot of work, slow, detailed work.

The scenes of whipping Jane are not a difficult task for the crew. It's extremely hard for Jane, sure, but the crew has an easy time. Setting one camera angle takes time, but it is not such a big deal, specially when the action will be taking place during a very long and painful time. The camera will capture a large number of lashes of the whip falling on Jane's back in a medium shot, some other action takes place right after the whipping. After almost half an hour, if not more and after repeating the action two or three times, the crew moves to change the camera angle, which means change the light positions to better get the image of the whipping... and so on. This process can be repeated three or four times.

Sure, Jane is suffering up there on the horse, waiting for the crew to set up the lights, and the camera; but the crew is not having a hard time, they are doing their work.

But the scenes of burning Jane with the hot iron are not an easy task. The changes are more frequent, the number of shots needed are many, many more and JJ has to get as many shots as possible to make the scene work. So, the crew is having a hard time while Jane is having an easier time, she can sit and relax while the crew move around the space, setting up the lights, the cameras, etc, to get that one shot of the burning iron, many times over until they get it right. It takes a while to set up lights and the camera for a shot that lasts a few seconds in screen time, maybe even less. Maybe less than a second.

The shooting of the one short shot takes a few seconds. The set up takes a while. Thus, the shooting of the movie slows down a lot.

Which doesn't mean Jane doesn't have a hard time during the shots, she does, but not as hard a time as she had on the horse, and yes, the horse is over for her.

In the new scene she's suspended spread eagle with rocks holding her legs open wide while the hot iron burns her skin a number of times.

After the burning her of flesh, Marian (Jane) will be taken to be roasted. We've all seen the shots. So, the scene that came next was a pleasure for Jane. All she had to do is cry, her head resting on Mila's lap. A moment of rest and dramatic acting, of dialogue between the victims, before they are both taken for their final fate.

Jane is happy we're approaching the end of the shooting. This production took more time and meant a bigger budget than expected, but there are no regrets. It's nice to know that we could afford it, that our resources gave us the chance of producing two feature films, almost simultaneously, and with a big display of production values, trips, big cast and crew, transportation, big props, etc. All of that costs a lot of money and we managed to pull this off.

We're now preparing for the big finale. One more week of shooting and we're done. Well, maybe a bit more than a week, but just to wrap some scenes, tie loose ends, etc

We have enough material now to make Maleficarum a very exciting, visually stimulating, shocking film.

Which brings me to one issue raised by Ralphus: I understand why her arms are a bit lower, although visually, it's not as exciting. In this picture, for instance, she looks totally stretched out and helpless, as opposed to the newer ones where her arms are up, but not stretched as tightly. So the lowering of the are arms was done to ultimately make things more uncomfortable for Jane? I just hope it translates well to film.

Jane addressed this issue. The fact is that lowering Jane's arms made the torture all the more terrifying. Before people could think that she's stretched high enough as to have her arms support her body. With her arms lowered that was not the case. Her body was "resting" on the horse with nothing else to support her. As she was whipped her body rocked making it more painful. And that is obvious on the film.

In the meantime, we're doing post for both films. The one that is going faster is Barbazul. The structure of that story is such that it's easy to edit and the shots work so well, that I'm not having a hard time building it.

There's already a lot of expectation around here for the films. There's a big buzz, so we think that the theatrical release will be a great start for Barbazul and Maleficarum.

But we're not satisfied with producing two feature films. As soon as we're done with these productions, we'll be back in the set for two Red Feline movies, this time far more elaborate than our normal productions and with a bigger budgets as well, with a full crew and with thicker plots. Yes, we're moving on up, as they say.

Jane will be directing one of the productions, she has the outline of the story ready and it will be Mila and JJ who will be the protagonists. And for those few who are sick worry about JJ's acting... well.... he won't be doing camera, lights, directing, continuity, ... no. He'll be just acting, like he did in Barbazul, where he did a great, dramatic job. This time he'll transform in a character similar to the Marquis De Sade.

We have two very good stories. In one Mila is the object of JJ's perversions. She's a gypsy who must pay the ultimate price. In the other Jane becomes a very unlucky aristocrat that has to be broken down.

This will be my last update before we finish the productions. The next time you'll hear from me will be when we're done with both. I'll have a lot to tell then. And now for some comments.

    Comments on the comments.

I can see that Fantom has caused a debate amongst the members of this forum. Some issues were raised and I need to address them in some way. I ask myself why should I enter this particular discussion? Am I going to defend our work? Clear some misunderstanding? Are my comments going to contribute to the discussion?

    Maybe.

I won't re-post the entire comments people made, just the parts I will be addressing. They all have to do with Fantom and JJ's acting. Everyone agrees that Jane's acting is fantastic and that the movies, including Fantom, are good. So, it's just about JJ.

    The Debate

Ralphus - .. I think all 3 of us agree that Jane is a fantastic victim in the movie and seeing her suffer for nearly 2 hours makes it a worthwhile view.

esso I must agree with you on JJ but I think his performance in Fantom has move the needle all the way up to almost acceptable. Or maybe almost almost acceptable.

A Canadian but J.J.'s performances often seem uninspired. I hope the guy they've got playing the villain in Maleficarum is able to deliver. Otherwise, the movie could fall flat, even with Jane's acting and Ralphus's creative input.

Sloth I have seen enough of JJ on camera to realize he is not going to suddenly morph into the eye-patch inquisitor in "Poor Cecily" going about his duties with glee - but the whipping sequence seemed, well.....mechanical -

    Margot responds:

Something happens when one is directing a movie and paying attention to the protagonists. All the attention goes to what is happening in front of you and it can be distracting to the person who directs while, at the same time, tortures somebody.

During the shooting of Maleficarum, JJ can instruct the actor that plays the torturer as what to do and how to do it. Then he steps back and watches the performance. He can also tell the actor how hard to hit, how to move his body, how to do everything. He can also discuss with Jane not only her performance but also the torturer's. So, he has a lot of control and he can get the expressions, the body movement, everything he wants from the scene and beyond. He also controls the set, the camera and the lights. He has people setting up the lights, his cameraman is at work with the camera and the sound man is taking the sound. Everyone tells him that everything is fine. He relaxes, stands back and watches the scene as it unfolds. Action.

The result is a perfect scene.

Unfortunately that's not the case with Red Feline Productions. Most of them are a two, three people (when I get involved) job. No one sees what's happening through the camera lens while it happens. Jane or Camille, or Gabrielle with JJ, perform in front of a blind camera, with a deaf mike above their heads taking the sound.

In the jargon of the biz, we say "blind camera" when the camera is set and there's nobody behind it while it's shooting. A "deaf mike" is when the mike is set but no one hears what's recording.

While Jane, or Camille, or Gabrielle do their big performance, suffering the true pain of the whip and feel the grip of the tight ropes, JJ is inflicting the suffering while thinking, Am I going too far? Are they acting or are they suffering? Did Jane faint for real? Am I over doing it? Am I over acting? He can tell if Jane, or Camille or Gabrielle overact or underact, but no one can tell if he's doing a good job or not. He has to trust his instinct and he follows one rule. It's better to underact than to totally ruin the scene by over acting and stealing the scene from his companion's performance who, in the case of a Red Feline production, must be, has to be stealing the show.

With all that screaming, squirming, suffering, and with that blood and gore, who's paying attention to JJ? Apparently some do.

Which is not what happened when Jane was directing JJ in Barbazul. During the production, Jane had her eyes on the monitor, while Mike was running the camera and Wilson was making sure the sound was working fine. All of them, plus the assistants, centering their attention in JJ and Mila who were making love.

Just as they were when JJ and Gabrielle were doing their thing.

It's different in the no budget, no crew, Red Feline production.

When JJ sets out to do a Red Feline Production, he concentrates his attention on what is going to happen to the victim. At the beginning, when he did Red Feline on the Cross, he wanted the bad guy to be like a ghost. A non entity. The focus of the camera and the action was on Camille.

The result was extremely well received. The idea paid off, so JJ decided to repeat the formula. To limit his participation to those necessary shots where he had to show someone doing the damage.

He did the same with the rest of the movies. Only later, with Aristocrux, his characters began to have more presence, a little more. He didn't wear a mask, for one, he showed his face and gave his character a little more of a personality, but still, a nobody who happens to come across a beautiful woman who then becomes his victim.

In Perils of Jane in the Green Inferno, also knows as the Emerald series, which came before Aristocrux, JJ was wearing dark glasses and still hiding behind an anonymous look. But he was scary, at least to Jane. I don't see him underacting this time. I actually see more of his disposition to cause pain and to tease. To play with his victim as a cat plays with the unlucky mouse. The cat feigns indifference while pushing his victim around.

He could clown more, for sure, but he doesn't and I must agree with him on this. For Perils, they had four days to work. The location was about an hour walk from their hotel and it was raining most of the time, which helped to get a very good look for the movie but prevented some things like putting the camera closer to the action. The cameras had to be protected from the rain.

It was very hard to work with wet hands and full of mud and trying not the ruin the equipment while setting the scenes.

But the result was good as far as a Red Feline Production.

When Jane and JJ decided to work on Romana Crucifixa Est, the characters were fairly simple. A Roman noble woman who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. A barbarian, with revenge in his mind, finds her and does to her what was done to his wife. The problem was that it had to be done in one day. In fact, in a few hours time. Maybe 8 hrs with a break for lunch.

That didn't leave enough room for a lot of development and given the conditions of the work, it had to be done fast. Jane, as usual got into her character with her entire soul, while JJ had to do everything else.

It is in Agent X when JJ began to develop a character less anonymous, less non entity. Which does not come easy when the mind is elsewhere. But it worked better, as far as the relation with the victim, the exchange between them. As the questioner of the Agent, JJ had something to work with and there was more time to do it.

Working in a controlled environment, like the studio, is a lot better. They can take breaks, all the breaks they feel like taking. They can take a few days, working a few hours a day, etc. Then it becomes easier to work on the characters but, still, no crew.

With Fantom, the idea was to have a more engaging character, one that without a lot of talk would communicated more, project more and be more scary while wearing a mask. The mask was a find in the Greenwich Village, at the costumes store in Broadway and 12th street. They have a lot of stuff there and the mask looked interesting, weird. Jane and JJ were in New York, went to the store, saw it and bought it.

Later on it inspired the movie.

Jane's idea was to make one film without using blood or effects, not even sound effects to enhance the actual whipping. She had a lot of positive comments on Training Jane, where everything is real. So, that was the plan.

The work was very intense, it lasted many days where Jane had to suffer again and again. And JJ worked on his weird character as well. The result is there for all to see. Some like it more than others.

The complaints I read here, concerning JJ's "mechanical" or "wooden" performances are not really fair. They are not "mechanical" or "wooden". They are limited, given the conditions, but I do see a character in the performance, maybe not the character that others want to see. Perhaps some people feel like I do sometimes when I identify with a movie character. I feel like I would do it differently. But that's my take on the character I identify with.

Sometimes I feel like a movie character is too close to me and that upsets me, because it shows something of me that I might not like. Sometimes I feel like I would react differently or I would do something else with a character. But that's me and only me.

I was discussing acting with Jane at one point, before she started playing more complex roles. She said that she knew how to get to those areas inside her that can bring out the feelings she needed to perform. We also studied Camille's performances and Gabrielle's. Each one had a different take on a particular role and they made the role they took their own, like Jane does now. So is with JJ.

He commented once, on a TV interview where he was asked about directing and acting in a movie, that he often decided to make his roles easier to handle, without a lot of demanding moments where he would have to forget about his surroundings because he had to be in control of the scene. "It's difficult," he said. That's why directors who play roles in movies often play the same role over and over.

So, with the creation of Red Feline on the Cross, came the creation of the non entity. The less the better, he decided.

In the next role for a Red Feline Production, JJ will be directed by Jane and he'll act, and only act. He'll do the same role in the second production, which he'll direct, but acting with Jane, recreating what he already did. And for what Jane and JJ are discussing, I can say that he's going to be a very developed character, he'll talk his head off in this one.

I can also say that the way we're working now, the way we want to produce, has changed the way we see our work. We're setting new bars for ourselves. More plot, more drama, more acting, more characters, etc. In fact, our future work will be more like Maleficarum. More expensive, but, at the same time more challenging and interesting to do.

That's it for now, I hope I didn't bore you all, but at least I know I posted some pretty pictures.

    Good night.

Covers: Thanks! I couldn't find a pic of that bank vault scene with Google. I remember walking around that girl several times trying to "look inside her" but the image keeps turning to a side view--LOL 90's graphics.

But she is suspended in such a way that her interrogator/torturer had direct eye-level access to her sweet spot! I never forgot that.

Margot: My goodness, you weren't kidding when you said "opus". Have you ever thought about making a coffee table book about the making of Maleficarum to coincide with the movie's release? It's all about merchandising, you know. And it wouldn't be too much of a stretch, just copy and paste all your updates to this forum and you'll probably have close to 50 pages right there.

Another great update, thank you once again for gracing our forum with all the great pictures and information about the most anticipated GIMP film in years. We're very fortunate to have you here.

You know what I think is the hottest picture you posted from your latest update? It might surprise you. It's the shot of Jane, all bloodied, battered and defeated, resting her head on Mila's lap, with her hands still tied behind her. It's hard to tell, but I think Mila has her hands bound behind her, too. I like the idea that even though they are in a holding cell of sorts before they meet their ultimate fate, they are still tied up and helpless.

Having your hands tied behind you hurts after a while, so presumably they are going to be left in that uncomfortable position for the night until being taken away and horribly executed. Jane will be burned alive, and who knows what will happen to Mila but you know it will be something mean and torturous. And even before that happens, they are not even given the luxury of being unbound while they await their fate. I dunno, something like that just really turns me on.

That reminds me, what about the rape scene where Jane's character gets taken by one of the torturers? Is that still part of the script? All your updates about been about her torture. Surely at one point she's gotta be sexually attacked. It would be a shame to not use her at least once before sending her to the stake.

FYI gimpers-Daphne and her team are for real!! After delivering my script and payment last Thursday, I got my 12 minute custom back Monday night. I laid out an AOH torture scene involving stripping, punching/slapping/kneeing, hair pulling, shower dousing and electro torture and Daphne did an amazing job and looks super hot doing so. Her team may not be able to pull off special effects or settings like John M, but nudity/topless, tight bondage, and good acting for sure in my book. Her topless hotness and acting made this the best of my 5 customs. They put out stuff fairly quickly so expect to see this out soon.

esso: Thanks for the story you sent me. I kind of thought we might be going in different directions when I read what you sent me. The thing is, those old Men's magazines such as Man's Story, Men Today, etc., kind of set me on the path of what I liked. If you remember, they usually had two types of stories: 1. An interrogation story, where the heroine was always rescued before the torture got too bad, and 2. What I called a Medieval story, where some monstrous noblemen used to capture the local peasant girls and take them to his dungeon (from which they almost never returned). So I like the interrogation stories also, but would prefer that the heroine's interrogation would go significantly further before the cavalry arrived to rescue her! :-)

BTW, didn't you once write a story for the now-defunct Yahoo InterrogationsScenes group called Nicole? Did you ever finish that one? It sure seemed that Nicole and her sister were in a real nasty situation, and I wondered if you were going to rescue her or not. I would guess that you probably never finished the story, after the group got canned by Yahoo. If I just had $10 for every story I started but never finished . . .

Bleumune: OMG! There was recently a cover article in the NY Times Magazine to the effect that everyone is immortal on the web whether they want to be or not. I guess so. I wrote that in the late 19th century. How in God’s name did you remember it? When I first read your post I thought you were referring to a story I put up on RPP (I would guess around the same time) about a pretty young thing being interrogated for the name of her contact (which was her sister) but on further reflection I believe that was called “Marcy.” So in conclusion I would have to say you know my scribbling better than I do. I never did finish it although I believe I added more after the group blew up. If I were to go back to it today it would be quite different I think. In any case thanks for remembering.

As far as the old men’s mags, you got it right. And did you ever notice that the Nazi, Viet Cong, etc. interrogation or peril story always came later in the book than the Medieval, Victorian torture society, etc. tale? Also originally most of the mags only published one of them along with the tame pin-ups and stories of hippie youth gone wild. That seemed to change when they started repeating stories they had printed previously, sometimes in different publications.

Oh, and I do have $10 for every story I never finished which is why I am so wealthy today.

BP: Thanks for the lead to erotic-nightmares. I will check it out.

We are growing fast, having only started earlier this month. Importantly, you must list your age on your application or I cannot approve you (members must be at least 18). My apologies to those who applied and I had to delete because their age was not listed. Please reapply and add your age this time.

Also this month I began another group which caters to the specific act of not only whipping a girl, but doing it on her frontside. We call it Full Frontal Flogging and it has been pretty fast growing as well.

Thanks for allowing me some shameless promotion, Ralphus. And long live the GIMP!

Oh man, I hear you. I always liked the Nazi-themed covers (see URL). The magazines couldn't show full nudity on the covers, but they pushed the limit as far as they could go. And the torture scenarios were always interesting.

MAV: Thanks for the pic of Daphne. Nice-looking lady, but boy, that's one bad boob job! Did you see the scars under her boobs? The poor girl got butchered. Be sure and give us a review of the custom when she's finished. I'm just guessing, is she going to be tied up with her hands over her head? :)

BTW, you asked about the Badman Productions clip The Interrogation. I followed DHT's link and ordered the film. Do a search for "alexis". $12.99 for 14 minutes is reasonable, and the quality was good. I would recommend the clip, too. The electro scenes are not up to the par of ZFX or PKF, mainly because they didn't add the sparking effects or some sizzling noises to the audio while she's being shocked. I'm spoiled by the good stuff. In searching through Badman's stuff, it doesn't look like he does much in the way of torture, though, so electro is probably not his forte. But it was a decent watch. Alexis Grace is a lovely woman and she played a convincing victim. She sold the movie for me.

    Here's some caps I made:

    ----------------

Steve Power: Nice ass rape clip. I'm with YikYakker. Ever thought about using dildos that look more like the real thing? Obviously, it's not a real dick, but why not use a flesh-colored substitute that looks like it might be? ZFX uses them, and they even squirt.

Also, if you had cut that clip 2 seconds earlier, it would have been so much better. You're cumming in her mouth, why does she suddenly break free of the ropes to cover up her face? She wasn't tied well enough if she can do that. Dude, these things are important!

    ----------------

J Scourge: Good to see you here. I recognize you from a few of the groups I subscribe to. I'm still waiting for you to approve me to join Full Frontal Flogging (great concept). I'm one of those guys who loves whipping, but believes it shouldn't be limited to the back. Whip those titties, too! And the pussy!

Speaking of whipping, one of my friends sent me a clip of the whipping scene from Bounty today, which I immediately uploaded to YouTube. It's short, but with a very pretty victim. Check out the Whipping Scenes in Movies Database, too. I've added entries for quite a few new films lately.

    Ralphus,

I couldnt see the scars you mentioned until I clicked on the FULLsize pic from the twitter link. I agree the scars are a bit offputting. I dont notice them in the movie though. I actually thought Daphne was hot enough pre-boob-job (see linked pic) but her body overall (including the new boobs), the tight AOH, and her acting (while not perfect) make up for it in my book, especially in the electro scene. I'll put a review out when they do a full release.

As far as the Badman AOH electro clips, it doesnt sound like it's up to snuff for me without sound effects and Alexis looks ok but not great.

Anyone else still reeling from the missed punishment opportunity in NBC's Chase? Man, what I wouldve given to see Kelly Giddish roughed up by the Mexican cartel while she was captured.

Yes I definitely love the Alexis Grace clip from Badman. I love the teary makeup and the ballgag drool and the crying. My only complaint is that when she breaks and confesses, I would have liked to have had that be a facial closeup instead of a profile shot.

The mention of a "new" site with full frontal whipping is kind of moot considering the volume of that exact thing at Elite Pain. It's real and at the border line of consensual torture. Strange that when I've brought up the site before I got no comment back. Are there "taboos" here at the GIMP that a new guy does not get yet?

Bman: What do you mean by "taboos"? We've mentioned Elite Pain plenty of times before in the past, and a check revealed that we have 4 comprehensive reviews of their movies in the Reviews section. I have to admit I haven't checked out much of their stuff for one of the reasons you just listed...consensual. Consensual torture isn't torture so much as it's pain freaks testing their limits to see how much they can take. When they volunteer to be tortured, that's not nearly as much fun.

I have yet to see Elite Pain even gag one of their girls, a relatively simple move that would go a long way into creating the fantasy that they are being forced. Reality is fine, but for me it's all about believing the fantasy. Kind of ironic they don't do that, especially considering the site was shut down a while back over allegations that at least one of the girls was indeed being tortured beyond what she agreed to.

The KylieJo clip where she reaches up with her hands was because she was already untied when we shot that part. She was spanked, oiled, goosed, hog tied and fucked in the pussy and ass. The ass fucking ended because she was hurting and the guy that brought her to the shoot was worried about her so she was untied right away when the dick left her ass. Then we shot the cumshot part. You can't push the issue when they say stop or you'll get your ass kicked. These things are usually shot in one day and when the model hits the wall that's all you get. We weren't going to be able to tie her up again on that day and it was getting late. Bringing her in for a second day requires twice the pay for her and all helpers and wasn't scheduled. Budget is too low for that.

She had never done anal before and was spent when that scene was over. If she hadn't been deep throated so heavily she wouldn't have spazzed out and reached up with her hands. I like the fact that she panicked at the end because it's real. The cock is 7 inches long. Anyone wants to send a realistic looking strap on cock can write and I'll give address to send it to. You'll get reimbursed with content if you do it.

Continuing on the interrogation theme-did everyone see the unedited scene from Salt? I'd only seen an edited version on a plane and on the web, but this linked longer version shows us more of Angelina roughed up a la stomps to the stomach and some slightly better angles. you guys may not be able to see the clip unless you register at the linked site. The scene is rather dark and I had to watch a few times to figure out what exactly was going on. Still, it's always good to see an A-lister like Angelina take some abuse on-screen. Might provide some incentive for other aspiring actresses.

Watching the youtube videos of Angelina Jolie being tortured and that prostitute being whipped really burns me up. Not because the clips aren't cool because they are. But because I posted one clip on youtube that showed only the face of a model being whipped and was banned from the site. Can't post to youtube, can't use paypal, can't get a bank account anywhere in the world now. The dollar is no longer legal tender for all debts public and private because it is restricted on the internet! We must comply with their compliance guidelines or we can't use the dollar on line. Far as I'm concerned that means we are doing something right. With no blood, no injuries of any kind, no death threats or assaults with deadly weapons.....we are banned.

Fuck the bitches! It's bank of America and Youtube that need a good ass whipping. Bank of America needs to remove the word America from its name. Next video title is going to be named fiscal restraint. Need to tie up and whip some government ass for taking our social security money and squandering it on wars to protect us from enemies that could never attack us just so they could get re-elected. Selling fear. Paranoid fucking sons of bitches! Click on the link up top to see what your country doesn't want you spending your hard earned money on. Warning...no blood or death threats.

    Fight for Your Life (1977)

    Movie Info

An IMDb reviewer averred that, as a home invasion opus, this one is superior to Last House on the Beach. So I had to check it out.

It certainly has a good GIMP premise: Winsome African-American damsel Corrie (Yvonne Ross) heads to her small-town liquor store to pick up some wine for a fancy family dinner. She has also invited her blond girlfriend Karen (Bonnie Martin) to come over for the feast. Meanwhile, three escaped convicts – redneck Jessie Lee Kane and his Latino and Asian colleagues – head for the same liquor store to pick up some easy cash. Mayhem ensues, the villains grab the money and Corrie, and they head to her family’s isolated house to hide out for a while.

A non-stop torrent of racial epithets ensues as Kane subjects Corrie’s family – Mom, Dad, brothers and Granny - to an endless parade of taunts and humiliations. But what about the GIMP?

At about the 40-minute mark, the Asian perp spies the girlfriend approaching the house. Oh good. He sneaks out to intercept her, gives chase through the woods – tearing her clothes off along the way – and then...

...she stumbles off a cliff and plunges to her death. WTF!?

Well, there’s still hope for the daughter. Sure enough, Kane decides its time for “dessert” and drags Corrie into the bedroom. He throws her on the bed, sits on top of her, and starts ripping off her clothes as she struggles mightily.

Unfortunately, the camera shifts to the living room, where the family is forced to listen to Corrie’s moans as each of the ex-cons takes his turn plugging her offscreen. Next time we see Corrie, her clothes (or what’s left of them) are back on. Epic fail.

There’s a brief episode where the villains threaten to tie Mom’s ankles with rope and hang her upside-down from a tree. But it never happens.

You can probably guess how the story ends. In the closing credits, the last name mentioned is “Dick Punch”, which pretty much describes my reaction. This uncut version restores the portions that were chopped from the original to meet the standards of the Swedish authorities. It’s mean-spirited, just not in a way that I find entertaining. But it does have some nudity, clothes-ripping and implied rape, so I’m obliged to give it a D+. BTW, neither Yvonne Ross nor Bonnie Martin made another movie after this one. This movie took their proverbial fifteen minutes of fame and squandered them.

Some GIMPers might enjoy this review on DVDFile of the Blu-Ray version of the original I Spit on Your Grave.

Actually, I agree with the central argument in the review -- that the film's real goal was to attract an audience excited by the rapes, rather than the female revenge storyline in the second half. The one difference between me and the reviewer is I'm not bothered by that particular insight.

The background story about material that was cut from the theatrical release (in order to get an 'R' rating) and then snuck back in for the home video version was interesting. I hadn't heard that one before.

Also, here is DVDFile's review of the new I Spit on Your Grave, for those who are interested in a mainstream take on these things.

The diss is to paypal and the banks for promoting movies like the one YikYakker just reviewed where the chick is killed because the producers couldn't show her being fucked. Killing is ok....but fucking isn't. Now that's fucked up. The producers used sex to hook customers....then killed off the chick. Wonder what message that sends? Dorks on patrol....

(briefly lapsing into Walter Cronkite mode)

From La Paz, Bolivia...the flash, apparently official, Jane von Detlefson was burned at the stake on Saturday, January 29, 2011.

Margot announced the news this afternoon on the Stakedamsels forum. Jane was dragged to the stake, kicking and screaming, chained to it and the fire was lit under her feet. Her screaming could be heard for miles. I'll leave the rest to Margot to share the details, and I'm sure she'll have plenty to say once she has pictures to release to the public. The only still they are releasing at this point is definitely a teaser, but here's your first look at Jane at the stake.

I e-mailed Jane to get her take on the scene. No word yet, but I'm sure we'll hear more eventually. Pretty exciting news, I'd say. And even more exciting that this is probably the end of principle photography, or at least, just a few odds and ends left to be filmed. Then it's onto the editing room and then, eventually, onto DVD!

    ---------------------

Scot: Thank you for the whipping scene from The Last Sundown. I had never seen it before except for caps from Oslo's old site. I updated the page for that film with some better caps and added the link to the Whipping Scenes in Movies Database.

    ---------------------

YikYakker: Thanks for gracing the board with your latest review. I've never even heard of Fight For Your Life, and based on your review, there's probably good reason for that. I love a good home invasion story, but this one sounds like a misfire on every count. Too bad, because the blonde is awfully cute.

The direct link for your review is in my Homepage URL above.

    ---------------------

A Canadian: Thanks for sharing the I Spit On Your Grave reviews. That revealed a fact I never knew before...that the star of film, Camille Keaton, was actually married to the director! I guess being cast in a notorious rape film is the way to a girl's heart. According to the IMDB, they got married the year after the film was released and then divorced 3 years later.

I'm definitely looking forward to the remake, which comes out on DVD on February 8. Amazon has it for pre-order for only $11.99 here.

    ---------------------

Steve Power: I hear what you're sayin'. Killing is perfectly all right with mainstream media, but tie her up or (horrors!) have sex with her and you get banned. It's a strange world.

esso, The reason that I remembered that story is because I saved it, like I save most stories that I like. In your case, I saved it because I considered that you were the best author on the yahooInterrogationScenes group, and I really liked the gritty realism and the detailed description of what it would have felt like for a tender young thing to find herself in the hands of monsters who meant her great harm. I just wish that you had finished it (or that you had published the extended version that you mentioned. There's rather a dearth of places with stories that I like these days - that's one way in which the internet has NOT gotten better as it aged.)

I thank you for your mention of your story called "Marcy." I joined RPP Stories for a while several years ago, but that story was one that I saved and had never really read. When I did a search and found it, I could see the similarity between "Marcy" and "Nicole" (the sister is named "Annie" in both stories, for example). If you remember any thoughts about how you might have ended either story that you might share off line, I would be interested.

    Cheers

Bleumune and mothbrad: Shucks...thanks so much for the kind words. I often think of going back to rewrite/finish all the stuff, some of it never having seen the light of day. I lost most of the good old stories but have a couple of real early ones, e.g. Caught, Breaking Maggie, Hold On Evette, etc. My favorite writer was Kirsten Smart with whom I collaborated on a rather long story of two young women interrogated in an unnamed South American country. I actually wrote some other stories for the old Interrogation group under a different name which I cannot now remember. Any info you have on that group would be appreciated.

There is a dearth of places like that around today. (Note, Erotic Nightmares has a rather good tale called Stopping the Rebellion.) I have often wondered about starting one up. I think it could be filled with a lot of "out of print" things to start things off. Anyone with any thoughts?

Jane von Detlefson: Congratulations on getting burned at the stake! (Geez, how often does one get to say that with a straight face).

I don’t know where or when this lovely picture was taken, but to me it is evocative of the tremendous sense of relief and triumph that you must feel after having arrived at this remarkable milestone. And it’s not just the BATS scene, it’s the whole journey that Margot described in such rich detail – the horse, the whipping, the roasting and finally the burning. You and your colleagues should be justifiably proud.

And I hope you won’t take offense if I say how fetching you look with that rope and chain around your neck. And that smile! We don’t often get to see that expression, what with you...um, getting tortured and killed a lot. ;)

    -------

I gotta agree with esso on Sloth’s trivia question. Although it’s a little tricky... because the name Toledo applies to both a modern city in Ohio and a legendary Spanish city of antiquity, known for its fabulous sword-making.

Come to think of it, Toledo (Spain) might have figured prominently in the Inquisition. So maybe there were some tied, tethered and tormented tarts tortured by Torquemada.

It will be fun to find out the answer tomorrow.

    -------

Footnote to my review of Fight For Your Life: One reviewer indicated that Bonnie Martin’s character was pushed off the cliff by the villain. Well, I looked at the scene again and again and again...and I still say that she fell backward while trying to push him away from her.

Either way, it’s a shameful waste of a topless blonde.
