At the festival of the slaughter of the piglets an appropriate young woman was selected every year to be driven through the streets of the village with the animals that she resembled. The villagers would wield sticks to force the piglets and half naked girl to run (or waddle) as fast as they could. The girl would be fitted with a schandemaske of shame mask in the form of a pig's head. This festival provided fine sport for the villagers.

In the muddy pig sty, poked and prodded by the villagers who gather around.

Despite the German writing, this imagery of crude, proteic, proto-feudal way of life reminds me of another great European (sort of) civilisation. A orkish kind.

The pig girl would be forced to ride naked on the back of a large hog. At the end of this ride the pig that she had mounted would be allowed to mount her. This was an appropriate mate for her. Maybe she would produce a fine flock of piglets.
