I guess if (when) Bdsmlr goes out of business it will suck, but until then I don't have to worry about the size of the uploads.
Do you have a link to that?
Sure, it's at: https://bdsmlr.com/

It's basically a bdsm themed tumblr knockoff.
The place a lot of people ran to when Tumblr bannned nudity.

I just wanted to add my small voice to the chorus of acclaim and appreciation for the many long and no doubt frustrating hours Margot has spent restoring our home away from home.

Getting the site up and running after another hack/crash must have been a big pain (not the fun kind) and a huge amount of work. Many thanks, so glad you're back.

Is it possible to post .pdf files on the GIMP

Post by bleumune »

Does anyone know whether it's possible to post .pdf files here? A friend of mine and I are considering posting a many-episode torture story containing both imagery and text. I considered posting the individual episodes as individual .jpg files, one with a text box containing the story and the other with an image. However, a two-page pdf file with one full page of text and the other page for the image would be convenient. It fits under the 1MB limit (my test file ran about 350 KB), but when I looked at the attachments, the only options seem to be some form of image file.

I sent Margot a private message on this but she hasn't gotten back to me - possibly too busy saving our bacon here on the GIMP! I can't get upset about that! But maybe someone else has asked this question.

I would need to ask my tech people. I can see that the system recognizes pdf; however, it doesn't mean that it will show.
I'll test it when I'm with my work computer that has pdf files I can use to test it.

As an attachment, it will be reduced from its original size, if it does show it. Like a big picture.

I'll have that info tomorrow.

Thanks for checking it out, Margot. I'm thinking it won't be a big problem to post things as a pair of .jpg files as long as the titles or the page numbers enable keeping things in proper sequence. But I'm looking forward to finding out the answer - it would make posting elements of the story easier.

I like to communicate with other GIMP fans. Is the PM feature expected to be restored?

The PM feature is active. New registrations must go through the approval of three posts before they can use it.

Important Information

We're looking into possible pingback issues. Most links to outside websites are fine, but some are not, specially those that seem random.

When you have a link to anywhere, the people at the source of the link can check where it is coming from and they can use that info. Some, particularly in the big porn, are experts, and they know how to set malware or hack those places that link to them. They have bots to do it.

We're having an increasing number of bots trying to register, something like 50 per day and growing. It's very annoying, really. But that's the nature of the beast.

So, random links to random places, with a great number of gifs in one post will not be allowed, for security reasons. Those posts/topics will be locked, as a first warning, and later on deleted.

Thank you for your attention.

Glad to hear that. Whatever it takes to keep this place clean is ok with me.
Thanks for your hard work, Margot.
