Do we know anything about Blakemore's models other than the stories he's told on this forum - and some of those stories seem less likely than others? They're clearly all from southern US, but do we know whether any of them went on to work with other producers?

That is a terrific question, to which I don't have an answer. Only that I haven't seen them anywhere else, any of them.

They seem to have "worked" exclusively with John Blakemore, and kept their proclivities pretty much under wraps otherwise. And if they appeared in any print magazines, said magazines were marketed under publisher Barbara Behr's umbrella, reinforcing the JB-BBehr connection?

That would seem to lend credence to JB's assertion that they were all secret "bondage sluts", as none of them seem to have pursued a career in that industry?

That would be a great story, as I think many of them would be grandmothers now?

Ini Blakemore's era it would have been a great risk to be "out" in open society with work of this sort either as a producer or as a model. Most BDSM porn of that era seems to have been created by producers who had their own small circle of models who did not move around between producers. In fact this was mostly still true of vanilla porn except for a few "stars" of the Golden Age of film porn. This started to change in the 1980's for a variety of reasons. I think of John Willie in an earlier era, Hidden Pleasures in a later one, and Jeff Gord in his early Usenet years as having their own little group of models who worked for nobody else and often more for fun than payment. This dynamic gave those shoots a dynamic that is hard to recreate in more commercial settings, and very noticeable once you are primed to see it. Gord and some of his models did make the transition to a more fungible world of bondage porn but Blakemore's models would have been much older when this became possible, so it's unlikely we will find them in anyone else's work.

I find it amazing that he got (imo) the most beautiful women to "be naughty" with him, and in a niche that was ultra repressed at the time. I have long felt that he filmed primarily in the American South/Southeast, which I guess isn't the Bible Belt, but it's a long way from relaxed Hollywood.

And you can tell by his models/actresses body language that it's a combination of fear and being turned on by the situation of bring undressed and in tight bondage. Knowing that they looked so hot, and desireable, and that men (and women) were masturbating and fucking to their films and pictures.

Yeah, I get the feeling most of the models were local women who did it for money/thrill with Blakemore because he recruited them, and then they eventually got into serious careers or married/pregnant and no longer wanted to or had the body to play bondage model games.
