Why do this? If I understand the issues, images get posted only to be deleted a few hours later and a null message left behind. The practice puts a load on the system with most members never able to see anything.

Really, this practice is a form of vandalism.

Calling leaving a dot in a post "vandalism" on a site where hundreds of photos are being illegally published is really the height of... something. I’m just not sure what. Stupidity, maybe? Just because something appears on the Internet doesn’t mean you can take it and publish it — that’s not how it works. This is vandalism, and in fact, a crime.

It's not about the contents, but your practice is meaningless and waste precious server storage space since everything posted here (even for a short while) is archived in the system.
And it doesn't prevent another member quickly catching and saving your pics then reposting them (see above), then it's here to stay and you have no way to delete it.
