We at Red Feline are in the middle of a reorganization. We need to do this to confront the new times, new technologies, new stages in our work and with all of that, tons of new needs and they happen to be costly.
Some of you know the difficulties encountered to register, and that has a simple explanation. We're using a public php format in this forum which is not always reliable, easy to break into, and a target for thousands of bots. We're forced to limit the access here because it is not easy to control it. How can you decided which of the registrations coming everyday is legit? Spending the entire day checking each, which is impossible.
The solution is to upgrade to a new Forum app that can take care of all of those bots, make the process of registration easier and more effective but not only that. It would allow for videos to show, better and fancier ways of posting, like, love, hate buttons on the posts, and a lot more... but it costs.
One reason why we're basically running this forum, other than because we love what Ralphus created and we're truly committed to preserve it, is to promote our productions hoping that some of you guys will buy them. We also hope to have a healthy exchange of ideas and so on and so forth.
However, the GIMP Forum has opened up so much that we don't really get much attention. I'm far more active at the Crux Forum where our productions have a great following, so much that it made it possible for us to produce Seditiosa.
And yet, here I'm, advocating for a better GIMP Forum.
So, I have a question, would people here be willing to support our endeavor? We would set up a contributors page, either at Patreon or here, to receive a modest contribution, like 3 or 5 per month to help cover the costs of maintaining a more expensive forum.
Not many people will read this, maybe I'm wrong. I will keep this sub forum, Breaking News, at the top of the page for some days. If I don't have responses, or views, or exchanges, I'll take it back to the lower place on the page and there won't be any changes on the GIMP forum, it will remain the same for as long as we can keep it going.
Our efforts will go elsewhere.
In the meantime, a good way of supporting our work is enjoying our films, after paying for them, of course:
