Re: Women stretched on the rack
Alex has a new rack design, and I've arranged for White Rose to be tortured on it this weekend, as her character Dr. Squalus.

Some snippets of the testing to give you some idea of size.

More rack pictures.
Re: Women stretched on the rack
That’s a very ingenious design. I like how the wooden boards themselves stretch out.

Yes, there's a screw at the bottom and a screw at the top, so that as the handles are turned, the boards holding the wrists and ankles are pulled or pushed in the direction the torturer wants them to go. The victim is stretched the length of the rack. I intend to use this in more of my scripts. It doesn't have the big, intimidating drum at the top, but this design is much sleeker and more sinister. No clanking chains, though. :/

It is "sinister" indeed, indeed.skullchaser wrote: ↑Thu Feb 26, 2026 2:55 pmYes, there's a screw at the bottom and a screw at the top, so that as the handles are turned, the boards holding the wrists and ankles are pulled or pushed in the direction the torturer wants them to go. I like the concept of the center screw shaft as opposed to the usual drum/winch. Unless there's gear reduction built in, the winch often requires brute strength to do the job. I'm all for labor saving devices and the center jack screw certainly does that. It also allows for minute increases in the stretching.. and pain.. to the victim. It also allowss for a simple and less expensive upgrade to an electric motor.skullchaser wrote: ↑Thu Feb 26, 2026 2:55 pmYes, there's a screw at the bottom and a screw at the top, so that as the handles are turned, the boards holding the wrists and ankles are pulled or pushed in the direction the torturer wants them to go. Re: Women stretched on the rack
Thanks for the analysis! When I saw Alex's new rack, I wasn't sure if it would be dramatic enough. But, seeing Teresa test White Rose on it taught me that the center jack screw actually makes it easier for a woman to operate it. As you pointed out, no brute strength necessary.wulf wrote: ↑Fri Feb 27, 2026 3:25 pmI like the concept of the center screw shaft as opposed to the usual drum/winch. Up until now, all of the racks I've seen used the big drum windlass approach. Alex had an electric winch on one of his, but it sort of killed the medeival vibe. The new design is much better.
