The idea that gagging a victim produces silence is quite naive. Here are Katie and Ms. Walberg with their mouths nicely filled, but I guarantee you the screaming, pleading and groaning are wonderfully audible. I've never gotten the attraction of some doms to forcing their toy to be quiet while being tortured. It's the reactions (granted, not all audible) that make the process so enjoyable. Granted, however, that the inability to understand their endless words is restful.

The thrill is the terror and humiliation of closing off one of their major lines of defense -- screaming -- and the fountain of uncontrollable drool to mix with tears and snot.

This is a recommended method to test a gag's efficiency: if the emitted noise level is higher than 40dB at 1m. more measures must be taken (extra tape layers, closed hood, etc...)
