Tar and Feathers

I am working on AI images of women being punished by being stripped by a mob and tared and feathered.

Stripped naked and hung up by her wrists from an old oak tree. She is given a good taste of the bull whip. Then the mob dresses her up in tar and feathers. This is the fate of fornicators and whores.

Given a thorough coating of tar, topped off with feathers.

They set her running out of town and warn her to never come back. Where will she go? Can she find shelter anywhere, marked as the sinner she is?

Dragged out to the field and dressed up in the shameful garments of tar and feathers.

Her hair cropped off. Covered in tar and feathers they tie her up and set her adrift on the Mississippi River, in a leaky rowboat. Will she sink of will she float? That is of no concern to the jeering mob. When the boat fetches up at a town downriver, the good folks, seeing her for the sinner she clearly is, giver her another tar party and cast her adrift again. Tar and repeat.

In Northern Ireland in the 1970's Catholic girls who dated British soldiers were dragged from their homes by the IRA and tied to lampposts. They had their heads shaved and ink or tar poured over their heads. They would be left there at the mercy of the crowd, often for several hours before they were released.
