Incidentally that's another reason why I would have preferred ropes. I then would have added in the text that she was daily put up for the matches and taken down for the night. Tomorrow for example that would mean a neat crucifixion under the Qatar sun from 13 PM to midnight. This way surviving the first round, a bit over two weeks, would have made more sense.

Over on Crux I asked a question about this soccer crucifixion scene, but the many experts there do not seem eager to answer, so I replicate it here hoping for input from the habitué's like JD and Wulf.

I got thinking about the scenario I imagined in that last pic and have a theoretical question for the crucifixion experts (there should be plenty around here).

Let's say the Emir does indeed put Miss Lipa on the cross - using ropes, not nails - every day soon before the start of the first game, and takes her down at the end of the last. Considering the schedule, that would mean:

Day 1: up from 6 PM to 9 PM (considering opening ceremony).
Day 2: 4 PM-12PM
Day 3 to 9: 1 PM to 12 PM
Day 10 to 13: 6 PM to 12 PM

Then the knockout stage starts, so let's limit us to this first phase. Let's consider that Dua is a fit 27 year old. That her first hours will be quite hot under the desert sun (even if November-December), the latter ones in freezing cold. Let's say she suffers no further abuse, and in her "off cross" time is well fed and allowed to rest and sleep without restraints, just locked up in a comfortable room at an ideal temperature. Maybe she's even offered lotions to cure sunburn.

Would she, in your opinion, have good chances at survival? And, even if not as horrific as being nailed to a cross and left to die, how terrifying would you rate the prospect of being crucified up to 11 hours a day, every day, for two weeks?
