Attachment size limit

Dear moderator(s),

As I recall, the old forum had a 800kb file size limit on attachments.

In this new forum I see animated gifs with file sizes far beyond that limit (some even > 20Mb).
Is the 800kb limit no longer valid? If so, is there a new limit?

Thanks for clarifying.

There's no new limit as far as size is concerned. However, if the file is too large, it might not upload. There's a PHP configuration that controls those uploads, some people might encounter problems uploading because of that.

There's still a 3 attachments per post limit, which might change.

Hello Reine Margot, I have another question regarding attachments:

Can we attach short video clips (wmv, mp4 etc...)?

Pro: much smaller file size for same duration and they include sound
Con: no auto repeat (i.e. loop)

The current setup does not recognize video clips. I'm working on it. You can only link to videos, but you can't embed or upload videos.

Sorry.
