I never heard of 'Forgotten Women' and I don't understand the link with the Crux Forum which by the way is also a free forum as far as I know. I never had to pay a membership fee for the crux forum.

And yes, the forum is free to join and participate, but the monthly costs are paid by voluntary contributions from members.
Most of the time I only look around in the BDSM forum, looks like I should visit the Fantasy Section a bit more often.
