The frog pond
The frog pond
I am happy about the Forum's return and being in touch with old acquaintances once more. I have said this already, but must reiterate: thanks to Reine Margot for her time and effort in keeping this place going. Since I don't see the old frog pond anywhere, I thought I would reinstate it as a place for my "art". Let start with a sample of some of my favorite themes.
Re: The frog pond
Good to see you’re back Frog! We have missed You!
Re: The frog pond
Ah, I finally feel as if the Forum is returning to normal with the reinstatement of "The frog pond". Great to see you back, frog!
And yes, thanks to Reine Margot for the continuing work. In a way, it's good to know that the Forum going down was mainly the result of the enthusiasm of it's members, rather than a bad guy attack.

Re: The frog pond
Great to see The Frog back in the Forum!
And yes, it was the tremendous number of contributions, tremendous... huge... worthy of FB... that stopped it on its tracks. Since we do not have the capacity of FB to hold billions of posts, manifestos, comments, pictures, gifs, movies, etc and etc, we must be careful.
However, there are some alternatives to just having one place to see it all. We're looking into it.
If, we need to upgrade the server to an even bigger one, and more expensive, we'll have to see if the funds allow it.
If we can't, then we'll have to 'prune' the forum once in a while, that means... delete, delete, delete...
One of the alternatives we're looking into is an archival system.
What I do suggest is you all keep a backup of your posts.
A text file and the pictures in a neat folder, in case you need to put them back up.
But we learned our lesson, we're going to download backups of the forum all the time, just in case, so if we ever need to replace all that you see here in the future, we'll be able to do it, up to the most recent backup, if the capacity permits... yes...
Right now we're in the middle of rebuilding our sites and for our needs to spread the word about our work, we're opting to have a site dedicated to the news inside redfeline.com. The main site will be dedicated to the movies themselves.
We have one post from the past in the new site while we test it, my very first post at the new GIMP forum, after Amy got it to run again:
https://redfeline.com/chronicles/2018/0 ... t-post-at/
Time is running and we're going to end this year at a time when I'm just getting used to the background images of GIMP 2021, having the feeling that I just did that yesterday.
I have to start working on the GIMP 2022 background image, for crying out loud...

Re: The frog pond
Thanks to all that responded to the rebirth of "The frog pond": JohnH69, yyy02, Spiked, La Reine Margot, Wulf, MAV, and Cluseb. It's a great feeling being back and sharing ideas and banter with everyone here. While the forum was down and I was away, I worked on several things, which I will share as time and space permits. Here are some examples not quite recent but inspired by the season. Since Halloween is upon us, I thought Killer Clowns and psychotic butchers were in order. . .
Re: The frog pond
One of my obsessions. Some of them are not finished, but I doubt if I ever get back to them. I get bored quickly and my attention drifts to other themes.
Re: The frog pond
AE, I'm also glad to see your work posted here again.
