Well, Cry was not specifically a spy--just the young wife of the head of the secret police. Captured by the resistance she is tortured with video sent to the Colonel to convince him to trade some of his prisoners for her. Unsurprisingly he is a big fan of tortured women. Cry refuses to cooperate with Alex's plan, but her hubby likes the videos so much that he offers to release one prisoner for each video. Alex accepts that deal, but he also realizes that by selling Cry's videos on the internet, he can raise funds for their cause.
