The Birth of the Eliminator

Post by A Viewer »

Here a story I wrote a while ago. It is a sequel to Cleaning House, which I posted to the old forum. You can find it at CruxForum. It is one of several that I will be posting soon. Please let me know which ones you like and you may see more stories following the characters.

Josh pulled into the parking lot of the motel. He got out and stood there for a moment. This is it. I really did it. Images of the faces of his exes as they died went through his mind. Several emotions went through him, and he realized that one of them was joy. He smiled and started towards the building.

Josh entered the lobby where a young man with messy hair sat behind the desk. He was looking through a magazine and appeared bored.
“Hey, I would like a room,” said Josh.
“ID,” said the man not looking up but holding out his hand.
“I forgot it,” said Josh as he briefly remembered throwing it into a lake.
“Sign your name,” said the man still not looking up but now holding up a clipboard.
Josh quickly wrote a scribble on the paper and then exchanged cash for a key.

Josh entered the small room. He sat down on the bed and looked around. There was a spot on the wall where the wallpaper was peeling. The colors around the room were muted except for a painting on the wall which was a swirling of bright images that were hard to make out.
Josh signed. This was all I could afford since that bitch Lisa took me for everything I got. Still, it’s good to just get away from my life.
He sat there thinking. I’m free. I’m free of all of them. He felt the pressure that he was feeling for months float away. He enjoyed it for a few minutes.
Now I just have to figure out what to do now.

A few days later, Josh knocked on a door.
“Yes?” asked the man who answered.
“I’m here about the ad you placed in the community center,” said Josh. “You need yardwork done?”

The man led Josh to a shed and unlocked the door. “I need the hedges trim and the yard mowed. Also, if you can fertilize the garden that would be great.”
The man walked away as Josh looked at the collection of tools collecting dust. He spotted the bag of fertilizer on the floor and started to pick it up.
Great, much better than working in advertising, thought Josh sarcastically as he struggled to lift the heavy bag.
Josh walked back to the front of the house and began pouring the fertilizer onto the garden.

“Here they are,” said a young Asian man as he led Josh into a back room. On a table was a huge collection of dishes. The Asian man walked away as Josh went to work.
Josh picked up a plate and used a nearby hose to spray it off. He then put it on a rack and picked up another plate. Just keep at it. Save up that money and you will be able to start over in no time. Afterall, it’s not like there’s not a lot of job opportunities for a guy with no past.

Josh was mopping the floor in an office building when two men walked by.
“I tell you, Dave,” said one of the men. “Sometimes I wish she would just disappear.”
“Yeah, women,” said Dave. “You can’t live with them, can’t have them killed.”
The two men laughed as they walked by Josh. He stopped mopping and thought to himself. Have them killed. Hmm.

Josh entered Slip N Go, a café he recently discovered. He looked around and saw a man standing by the counter.
“Hey,” said Josh walking up to the man.
“Hey,” said the man. After a moment he looked back up at Josh. “Do you want to go? I’m just waiting for my order.”
“Nah, it just seems like you have a lot on your mind,” said Josh. “I was wondering if you wanted to talk.”
“About what?” asked the man looking confused.
“Oh, you know, the usual,” answered Josh. “Money, work, . . . women.”
The man sighed. “Yeah, I know what you mean. Got a lot of problems there.”
“Number 15,” said a waitress behind the counter.
“Excuse me,” said the man. He reached over and took a bag. The man then turned back to Josh. “Sorry, I’ve got to go.”
With that the man headed to the door.
Josh stood there with his hands on his hips. “Hey, you,” said the waitress. “Are you going to order or not?”
Josh felt his anger rise.

“There’s a lot of things that can bug a guy, but women have to be at the top of the list,” said Josh to the man he was walking by. They were in a grocery store pushing carts.
“Yeah, I’ve had some rough relationships,” said the other man.
“Sometimes it’s all just too much,” said Josh. “You wish all the trouble they bring would just go away.” You wish they would go away to. Like when I attracted all those women who took advantage of me. The rumors, the cheating, and the stealing. It was all so much so I decided to kill them all and start a new life in a new city. Of course, I can’t say that.
The two men came up to the checkout line. “Don’t you wish that there was something that you could do about them?” asked Josh.
“I guess the only thing you can do is try to be understanding and get through whatever problems that happen,” said the other man. “Anyway, right now I’m single so it’s not that big of deal.”
Josh scowled as the man began to put his items in front of the cashier.

“Yeah, I’ve got some issues with women,” said a middle-aged man that Josh was playing pool with. “You want to hear about it? We’ll be here all day.”
“I’ve heard,” said Josh as he lined up a shot.
“Heard what?” asked the man suddenly on edge.
“That you’re going through a nasty divorce,” answered Josh before striking the ball. There was a loud smacking sound and the ball shot across the table, bounced off the side, and rolled to a stop. “Some of the other guys were talking about it.”
The man scowled. “They should shut up about my business. The whole point of a bar is to get away from your troubles.”
“Want to talk about it?”
“No, I want it to be over. That bitch is bleeding me dry. Nothing I do ever makes a difference. I swear, she has been a raging pain in my ass since the day I married her.”
I can relate, thought Josh. “Really bad, huh?”
“The worst,” said the other man. He ran a hand through his thinning hair. “It’s like being at war with someone who won’t stop until you’ve been completely destroyed. I spent my whole life building everything I got, and she wants to take it all away!”
Josh stood there for a moment studying the man. “You said your name was Ed, right?”
“Yeah, but you never said yours so what is it?” asked Ed.
“I’m a friend,” answered Josh. “You’re obviously going through a lot. Maybe I can help you.”
“How?”
“By making your ex go away.”
A look of confusion came over Ed’s face. “How?”
Josh gave him a look.
“Hey now,” said Ed looking around. “You don’t mean . . . do you?”
“You want to keep what’s yours, don’t you?”
Ed was silent for a minute. “Are you a cop? Say that you’re not a cop. It would be entrapment if you said it.”
“I’m not a cop.”
Ed stood there thinking for a few more minutes. “They would suspect me in a second.”
“That’s why you should be somewhere public when it happens.”
“Yeah,” said Ed thinking.
“You and I don’t know each other so who would suspect you? They could question your friends, but they would know nothing.”
“What would you get out of it?”
“A couple of hundred,” answered Josh after a moment. Start low. You can always increase the price later.
“Deal,” said Ed. I really doing this. Well, . . . I have to protect what’s mine.

A short time later, Josh was walking out of the bar. So, I’m really going to do it. I do need the money and after half a dozen, what’s one more?

The next evening, Sue unlocked her door and entered her house. After feeling around, she found a light switch and flipped it. Her living room was bathed in light. She put her keys on a small table and went deeper into her home.
As Sue neared her bedroom Josh came out. He was wearing dark clothes.
“Ahh,” said Sue jumping back. “Who are you? How did you get in here!?”
Through the window, Genius, thought Josh. Out partying away your husband’s money? “That doesn’t matter. I’ve got a message from Ed.”
“What are you talking about?” demanded Sue. “If he’s trying to scare me why . . .” Sue looked around and then her eyes went to the door.
“Oh no you don’t,” said Josh. He went up to her and they struggled. He then threw her onto the floor and straddled her. “Goodbye.”
Josh’s hands went to Sue’s throat. He squeezed it stopping her from screaming. Her hands went to his wrists, but he held on and was stronger than her.
Oh yeah, thought Josh as the face of Cindy, his most hated ex went through his mind. He had killed her by strangulation to. I love this! This feeling!!!
Sue made choking sounds as she struggled underneath Josh. Her feet kicked in the air causing her high heels to fly off. The woman pulled desperately at Josh’s hands, but it was no use. Her cleavage was exposed more as her short black dress was pulled about as she struggled on the floor. Josh watched her blond hair swirled around as she twisted about. She struck him once, but he did not feel anything. He kept squeezing her neck. Yes! Yes!!! One of her hands reached out into the air, searching for anything that could save her. The arm slowly lowered as her struggles slowed. Josh watched Sue’s eyes rolled up in her head as he kept squeezing. He felt like his hands were going to break but he kept applying more pressure. He closed his eyes as he felt the pleasure going through him. Images of Cindy went through his mind, and he felt his anger rise again. All those women, what they did to me because she told them that I was a wimp! She’s dead now! Just like this bitch!
Josh looked down. Sue was still making choking noises and her tongue poked out of her mouth a bit. After a minute, the noises stopped, and Josh felt like he was squeezing a lifeless thing.
Josh let go and after a moment checked Sue’s pulse. She was dead. Didn’t last as long as Cindy. Oh well.
Josh waited for a minute and then got up. He took a bag that he hid in Sue’s bedroom and brought it to the body. He then took a garbage bag from it. Time to clean up.

A few days later, Josh met with Ed behind the bar. “How did it go?” asked Josh.
“Good, the police asked me questions, but I was on tape nearly all night,” said Ed looking around. He held out an envelope. “This is for you.”
Josh took the envelope and quickly counted the money inside. “I would say see you, but I won’t.” With that Josh quickly left the area.

Josh entered his motel room. That was risky. What if he called the cops? Josh sat on his bed. Still, what I did, it was like what I did with all those other bitches. I guess I like killing women. If that’s the case, I think I’ve found my new career.
Josh counted the money again. I can’t just keep approaching guys. There’s the cops and it’ll take too long. It’s not like I can take out an ad . . . or can I?

The next day, Josh was in the library sitting at a computer. He was watching a video about the dark net. The computers were not able to play sound, but Josh had the captions on.
The dark net is where illegal goods are sold daily, read Josh. Everything from drugs to contract killings has a market on this illicit section of the internet. Because of this, one needs to be careful if they want to visit the dark side of the information highway. Still, if you want to visit this video will show you how. All you need is to download the right software and a little knowledge, and you can visit some of the most notorious websites on the web.

A few minutes later, Josh was on the website for a local news site. I placed an ad on that site on the dark net now for something a little mainstream.
Josh clicked on the classifieds section of the site. Pest Begone Exterminators, wrote Josh. Have a critter that is making your life a nightmare? Call us and we’ll make it history. He then left the number for a burner phone that he had just purchased.

That ad is either the smartest thing I ever done or the dumbest, thought Josh sitting in his room. I’ve been spreading rumors about it at various places just like when I was looking for clients. Now that I’m taking a breather I wonder if I’m leading the police to me. Sure, the ad on the dark net is untraceable but what if someone actually calls for a real exterminator? What if there’s someone from the government who wants to charge me a business tax or asks to see some license or something?
Josh looked around at the four walls of the room. I need to get out. He got up and headed to the door.

An hour later, Josh was sitting at a restaurant having a burger when his burner phone rang. He froze there as the rings sounded.
Is it happening? His heart raced as he flipped open the phone. “Hello?”
“Hey, are the guy who makes ‘pests’ disappear?” asked the man on the other end.
Josh was silent for a moment. “Are you having trouble with a woman?”
The man gave a rude laugh. “Yeah, my sidepiece is causing problems. She can blow up my marriage and ruin everything. Can you help me?”
“Yeah, I can help you,” said Josh.

That night a door opened in a house and woman left her bedroom. She walked down a darken hall and headed to the kitchen.
As she entered the room, she tighten the belt of her robe. Her bare feet struck the cold hard floor. She went slowly as she chose to not turn on the kitchen light. She opened the door and reached for a container of juice when for some reason she turned around to see Josh coming towards her.
The woman ran through the kitchen and headed towards a door, but Josh darted towards her and wrapped her arms around her. “Hey, Beth, your boyfriend said hi,” said Josh.
Beth struggled as Josh dragged her across the kitchen. Her dark hair got in his face as she shook her head. She let out a few high-pitched cries. She managed to get one of her hands free and struck at his face repeatedly.
“Ahh,” cried Josh.
Beth then pulled at his hair getting another scream and causing him to let go of her. She ran as fast as she could and headed towards the door that she had tried to get to before.
Beth left the kitchen and dashed through her living room. She neared her front door but before she reached it, she was grabbed from behind. She struck out wildly as she was pulled back. Beth spun around and saw the form of Josh as he struggled with her.
They banged into a nearby table and Beth remembered that a lamp was on it, so she grabbed it and swung it at Josh. It struck him and he cried out.
Beth ran towards the door, but Josh grabbed her shoulder and spun her around. She was pressed against the door and a powerful punch hit her stomach. The air was knocked out of her, and she collapsed onto the floor.
Josh took only a second to recover and took out a cord that he had brought with him. He reached down and looped it around Beth’s neck. He then used it to pull her to her feet with her facing away from him and pulled it tight.
Beth’s eyes shot open as she felt her throat being closed off. Her hands shot into the air as if reaching for salvation. They then reached to her throat as Josh pulled her back. She kicked out with her feet hitting the carpeted floor below.
Josh pulled tightly as Beth made soft choking sounds and clawed futilely at the cord. Her struggles caused them to swing around and Josh thought briefly about a woman that he had hanged.
They continued struggling for about a minute. Josh sucked in air as Beth weakly pushed against him. He felt his muscles strained as he pulled the cord with all his strength. I need to work out, he thought.
Beth clawed at Josh’s hand but the glove he wore protected it. She grabbed behind herself but got nothing. Images of her head being ripped off her body went through her mind as it felt like her throat was being squeezed into nothing.
Beth suddenly struggled with a new energy. She thrashed about but Josh kept her close. She shook her head, but the cord was so tight it did not matter. Her fingers grasped at it, but it felt like it was made of steel. Beth’s eyes rolled up in her head. Her thoughts were frantic, but her instincts told her that the end was near. Terror filled her and she moved about with a new speed. She swung her hands into the air as if trying to beat up an invisible person in front of them.
Josh grunted as he pulled the cord tighter. Oh yeah! Yes! He felt Beth start to slow down and a wave of pleasure hit him. This is what I’m meant to do!
Beth still struggled but it became slower and weaker. She made choking noises as she moved her whole body violently around. Josh felt her movements weaken and it was as if he could feel her life leave her.
A few moments later her movements were just occasional jolts. Soon they stopped and after a moment her whole body relaxed. She felt forward only being kept from hitting the floor by Josh. He held on for a minute to make sure then checked her pulse. Beth was dead.
Josh let her fall to the floor and took a deep breath. He turned on a light and looked down at the body. He rolled it over. The robe was ruffled, and he reached down to it’s belt and loosen it. Beth was wearing a revealing purple nightie. Her impressive cleavage was on display.
Nice, I see why the guy liked her. Josh stood there feeling satisfaction. I think I’m going to like this job.

“You sure no one will ever find her?” asked the client. He and Josh were meeting behind a laundromat.
“Yeah,” said Josh. “Did anyone know about the relationship?”
“No, but if that bitch had her way, then everyone would’ve.” The man, slightly overweight and with a mustache, handed Josh an envelope.
Josh opened it and quickly counted the money inside. It was slightly more than last time. “You got nothing to worry about. The problem’s been taken care of.”
Josh quickly left the area looking around as he did so.

“Here you go,” said a young man with red hair who handed Josh a set of keys. “It’s all yours.”
The man left Josh in a lightly furnished apartment. Josh looked around. That fake ID I bought worked. This is all in the name Ralph Miles.
Josh went over to a chair, one of the few pieces of furniture in the apartment and looked at the keys. It’s coming together, my new life. After everything those bitches did, destroying my credit, spreading rumors, and all the other stuff I can move on!
Worry suddenly rose up in Josh. What if the police find me? I had that lookalike buy a plane ticket while I was killing my exes, but this is different. What if one of my “clients” is a cop or I get caught on a job? I can’t go to jail! I’m just starting my new life!
Josh took a deep breath. Still, I’m really enjoyed doing this. It just comes so naturally. Maybe there is a way to put more barriers between me and the clients.

The next day, Josh was running towards a woman. Come on, he thought. I got to get to her!
Just as he about to reach her someone blew a whistle. “OK, that’s enough for today,” said Doris, the coach.
Josh walked away from the woman who was then returning the basketball that she had been holding to the rack.
Josh made his way across the gym of the community center and went over to the bleachers. He grabbed his gym bag from the bottom row as a somewhat heavyset man grabbed the bag that was next to it. “Hey nice work out there,” said the man. “You played college?”
“No, just a little in high school,” answered Josh.
“Name’s Burt,” said the man offering his hand.
“J . . . Ralph,” said Josh shaking it.
“That’s why you’re joining the minor league?” asked Burt. “Trying to recapture your glory days?”
“No, just looking for something to pass the time,” answered Josh. He was silent for a second. “Do you want to grab a coffee tomorrow? I know this great place called the Slip N Go.”
“Sure, maybe I can give you a few pointers on dealing with Doris.”
“Why would I need those?”
Burt smiled. “You’ll see.” He walked away as Josh shot a look over at the middle-aged woman who was lecturing one of the other players.

Josh was walking home when his burner phone rang. “Hello?”
“We have a problem,” said the man on the other end.
“You have a woman that you want me to take care of?” asked Josh.
“We want you to do more than that,” said the man.

That night, Josh went up to a large house. He looked around and felt along the windows. The second one was not completely closed so he slowly opened it up and climbed inside.

Josh crept through the living room. He came across the coffee table and picked up one of the posters that were on it. On the posters was the target, Kristen, next to the words “vote for change”. She’s running for office, huh. Probably why he wants me to do this. Josh put a bag that he was carrying down by the coffee table.
Josh continued through the house and came to a hallway. As he moved down the hall, he could hear the sound of running water. He then spotted a strip of light coming from beneath a closed door. Josh gripped the doorknob and slowly turned it.

Josh entered the bathroom. Steam filled the air and for a moment he was surprised when he spotted his own reflection in the mirror. He then turned his attention to the shower where a figure was moving behind a curtain. Josh quietly closed the door and went over to the shower.
Josh took a deep breath and grabbed the curtain. After a second he threw it back.
“Ahhh,” screamed Kristen. Her brown hair was plastered to the sides of her head, and she instinctively covered herself with her arms.
Josh made a grab for her throat, but she struck out knocking him back. She started to run out of the shower but as she went pass him, he caught her in one of his arms and pushed her back.
Kristen clawed at Josh’s face. He backed away but then advanced on her. He grabbed her wrists and held her. They struggled for a minute and Josh started to force her down.
Kristen kicked him in the shin making him let go of her. She tried to run again but he grabbed her wrist. He shoved against a wall, and she tried to get out of his grip. She grabbed at his face with her free hand, but he swatted it away. He swapped her in the face and as she was stunned, he grabbed her other wrist. She tried to kick him again but could not get a good target. As they struggled Josh pulled her along and ended up swinging her about. He swung her downward and towards the floor. Her head hit the tub that made up part of the shower and she rolled on to the floor unconscious.
Josh stood there for a moment. He bent down and checked her. Still alive. Oh well, time to change that. He reached down towards her and when he saw the water going down the drain, he had an idea.
Josh plugged the drain and waited for the tub to fill up. He turned back to Kristen. She moved a bit and groaned but was still out.
After a few minutes, the tub was nearly filled. Josh grabbed the woman and lifted her up. He then shoved her head into the water.
What, thought Kristen as she woke up. She thrashed about on instinct, but Josh held her down.
Time for a dip, he thought. Kristen struggled and sent large splashes of water flying about. She pushed against the tub, but Josh pushed back and held her down. She wanted to breath but fought the urge.
For a minute Kristen twisted and pushed against Josh. She struck at the tub. She kicked out but her feet were pointed away from Josh. He held her down and watched the bubbles float up to the water’s surface.
Kristen lungs began to burn. No. No. No! She struggled more wildly. Josh held on to her neck and hair. She swung her head about, but he kept her face pointed downward. Her hand slid across the surface of the tub. She fought to keep her mouth from opening. Bubbles flew from her noise. She wanted so desperately to breath.
Josh grunted as he held her down. He felt her struggles get weaker. Almost, he thought. He pressed his body down onto her upper back. Her hand shot out of the water and grabbed at the air.
Kristen felt her body beg for air. Her mind began to get blurry. Her heart raced as she felt her terror increased. She pushed back with her whole body but could barely move.
Kristen pleaded with her body not to breath, but it would not listen. She breathed out sending a burst of bubbles. She felt herself suck in water. Her hand clawed at the side of the tub.
Kristen shook her head as if to deny what was happening. More bubbles escaped her mouth. After a few more seconds of weak struggle her head fell forward as her eyes rolled up in her head. Her hand released it’s grip on the tub. Her whole body went limp. Josh held on for a few more seconds then lifted her up. She was dead.

Soaking wet, Josh dragged a garbage bag with Kristen’s body in it into the living room. He went over to the bag he had left by the coffee table. From it he pulled out a plastic bag with a white powder in it. Time to finish things up.

The next morning, Josh was sitting on his chair watching the news on his new TV. “The Police Chief did not make any official statement about city council candidate, Kristen Rose, except to say that she was a missing person, but rumors are flying,” said the newscaster. “Sources close to the investigation say that an unknown quantity of drugs were found in her home during the police search which is leading some to speculate that she fled to avoid a drug debt. Her opponent, Councilman Reilly had this to say about . . .”
Josh turned off the TV. Politics is really a dirty business. He smiled.

The Slip N Go was a little busier than the last time he was in it, but Josh had no trouble finding a seat. Soon after he sat down Burt arrived.
“Waiting long?” asked Burt as he sat down.
“Nah,” answered Josh before he took a sip of coffee.
“You see the news?” asked Burt. “It’s crazy.”
“Well, I don’t really pay attention to politics especially in a town I just moved to,” said Josh.
“Ah, you’re new here,” said Burt. “Is that why you joined the team, to meet people?”
“Honestly I just wanted something to do besides work.”
“What do you do?” asked Burt.
“Oh, I . . . I’m a salesman,” answered Josh caught off guard.
“What do you sell?”
“Cleaning supplies,” answered Josh. That sounds plausible. “Anyway, enough about me. What kind of nightlife does this town have?”
“There’s a club called Nightshade, but I don’t go anymore,” answered Burt. “I think I’m getting a little old for that. It’s mostly just the team now.”
“How is it?” asked Josh. “Is it fun?”
“For the most part, but Doris can really get on your case if you don’t follow the rules perfectly.”
“Don’t worry, I know how to handle difficult women.”

That night, Josh was sleeping when his burner phone woke him up. He grumbled and looked around while his phone kept ringing.
“What is it?” asked Josh.
“You’re the guy that takes care of women, right?” asked the man on the other end.
“Yeah,” answered Josh.
“We got a problem,” said the man. “Come down to the old house on Flyne Road. Do it now.”
The man hung up.

Josh went down Flyne Road which was not used by many. He passed only a few structures as he drove and eventually spotted a house that had seen much better days.
Josh pulled in front of the house where three men were waiting in the yard. As he got out Josh could see a truck poking out from behind the house.
“Are you the guy we called?” demanded one of the men. He had the same voice as the caller.
“Yeah,” answered Josh.
“We can handle this,” said one of the two other men.
“Like how you handled the shipment by picking up a hitchhiker?” asked the first man.
“We didn’t know she would see it,” said the remaining man.
“You let her store her stuff in the back,” said the first man who was obliviously in charge.
“Come on, you don’t have to do this,” said the first of the two other men.
“Shut it,” ordered the first man. “I’m taking care of this. Now be quiet or the bosses hear about your screw up.”
The man turned to Josh. “In there,” he said gesturing to a shack near the house. “Take care of her and there’s a few hundred in it for you.”
“Sure,” said Josh and he went towards the shed.

Josh entered the building. Inside was a young Latina in a sleeveless shirt and cutoff jeans. Her hands were tied behind her. She was obliviously terrified. “Please, I didn’t see anything! Just let me go. I won’t tell anyone about the drugs, I swear!”
Josh did not answer. He just put the bag he was carrying with him on the ground. He then bent down as the scared woman watched him and took out a rope. He then twisted one end of it about. Josh stood up and show the woman the noose he made.
“No,” she screamed. She started to run pass him, but he caught her with one arm and pushed her back. She tried to run again but Josh hit her in the stomach. The woman bent over coughing frantically.
Josh spotted a beam and tossed the noose over it. He then bent down and quickly slid it over the woman’s neck. He tightened it and went over to the other end of the rope which hung in the air.
“Don’t you know that hitchhiking is dangerous?” asked Josh.
The woman stood up and looked at him with terror in her eyes. “No,” she said. “Please . . .”
Josh pulled with all his might. The woman was lifted off her feet. She kicked wildly causing her sandals to fly off. Her mouth opened but she did not make any sound. She twisted about sending herself flying around. Josh tied the other end to a beam that was connected to a wall and watched her struggle.
The woman thrashed about. She kicked out her legs as if she was swimming. The shirt she was wearing pulled about as she moved revealing her cleavage. Her feet shot out in every direction. Her dark hair covered her face for a few moments until her movements pushed it aside to reveal her open mouth gasping desperately for air. She swung around in a circle.
Josh stood there watching her impassively. It brings back memories. The first time I killed a woman it was by hanging.
The doomed woman continued to struggle. Her muscles strained as she pulled at the rope binding her hands. Her face looked like a fish out of water. Her clothing was twisted over her body by her movements. She flopped about in the air. The woman pulled and thrashed as her lungs burned.
Minutes passed and her movements became slower. She started to thrash about in ways that seemed not to be about escaping but were death spasms. She continued her bizarre dance for her audience of one.
A couple of moments later the woman’s mind was blank as she continued her movements on instinct. She stopped trying to escape and was simply moving about. She began to convulse. The dying hitchhiker’s thrashing started to become weaker. She stopped moving her legs and was just twisting about in the air. A smile came over Josh’s face as he watched her final moments.
The woman slowed down even more. Soon she was just twitching in the air. A few seconds her whole body seemed to relax. Josh waited a few moments then went up to check on her. She was dead.
“It’s done,” said Josh sticking his head out the door.
The first man came inside and looked at the hanging body. He then turned to Josh and handed him a wad of bills. “We’ll take care of the body,” said the man.
I hope I don’t keep getting these late-night calls, thought Josh and as he walked back to his car.

A few days later, Josh was at his computer when he got a phone call. “You’re the guy who gets rid of women,” demanded the voice on the other end.
“Yeah,” answered Josh.
“I’ve got a woman you need to take out,” said the man angrily. “It’s not just her either. I want the little piece she’s been seeing gone to.”
A twofer, thought Josh. “That’ll cost you more.”
“I don’t care,” said the man. “I just want them done. That bitch thinks she can leave for another chick? I want them dead!”
“Where can I find them?”

That night, Josh entered a small house through a window. People are always leaving their windows unlocked. He entered the living room and after looking around went down a hallway.

Josh came into a bedroom. He could make out two forms sleeping on the bed. Slowly he made his way to a lamp by them. He took out a wooden rod from his pocket and reached for the lamp. After readying himself he switched it on.
The two women on the bed started to blink awake. They were wearing t-shirts and shorts. Josh swung the rod and struck the head of the one nearest him. She let out a cry and was unconscious. Josh then turned towards the other one, but she shot up towards him. She cried out as she clawed at his face. Her brown hair got into her face as she thrashed about. Josh pushed her hands aside and clubbed her in the head. She fell back onto the bed unconscious.
Josh stood there for a moment and after his breathing started to slow down, he went to the bag he was carrying. He pulled out some rope and quickly pulled back the covers. He then tied both women’s hands and feet.
Josh went back to the bag and pulled out two plastic bags.
“What’s going on?” asked the brunette groggily.
“What’s going on, Sara, is that your ex doesn’t like you leaving him for Jill here,” answered Josh. “So, he asked me to take care of you two permanently.”
“What?” asked Sara shocked. She looked around. “No! Please don’t hurt us!”
“Too late,” said Josh as he put one of the bags over her head. “Don’t hold your breath. It just makes it last longer.” He tapped the opening of the bag around Sara’s neck. She thrashed about as he did the same thing to Jill.
Josh stood back and watched the woman’s struggles. Jill started to wake as she breathed the bag into her nose. Suddenly her eyes shot open, and she joined Sara in thrashing about.
This is always good for a show, thought Josh.
The two women squirmed on the bed. They tried to pull at the ropes binding them, but they would not budge. Muffled screams escaped the bags, and they fogged up. Jill’s black hair got in her face as she tried to shake her bag off. They continued to wiggle about as the bags were twisted over their heads but stayed on.
Sara repeatedly hit her head against the bed. She let out a somewhat loud scream that caused the plastic to be suck into her mouth. She coughed viciously and shook the upper part of her body as she tied to get it off. She then continued to flop about like a fish on land.
Jill thrashed about violently as if she was trying to beat her new reality away. She thrashed her legs about and caught Josh in the face with her bare feet.
“Ahh,” he cried as he stumbled back. He regained his composure and saw that Jill had fallen onto the floor by the dresser where the lamp stood. He watched her struggle with satisfaction. Let’s see how much fight you have left, bitch.
Sara banged her feet against her bed several times. She violently shook her head trying to get the bag off. She let out several cries. Her legs were tangled up in the sheets. She shook them loose, but the ropes and bag remained. She cried out in fear and frustration. She seemed to be trying to speak but the words could not be made out. The bag fogged up again and she shook her head. Josh watched her thrust her torso about.
Jill flopped about on the floor. She kicked out with her legs again, but Josh backed away. She spun around on the carpet. She then rubbed her head on the floor trying to get the bag off. The plastic kept getting into her mouth and the fog kept Josh from seeing her eyes. She twisted herself all about pulling several muscles in the process. She let out a moan as pain went through her. Her shorts were pulled down by her struggles revealing her left hip. Josh alternated between watching her and Sara drinking in the show that they were putting on.
Sara pushed out with her legs again and again. This caused her to move backwards over the bed and to strike the wall behind her with her head. She let out a cry more out of frustration than pain. She pulled against the ropes binding her hands causing her to stretch her shirt over her chest allowing Josh to see the outlines of her breasts and revealing that she was not wearing a bra. She continued to pull against the ropes causing them to dig into her flesh. She cried out in pain but still kept struggling. The plastic was sucked into her nostrils and her eyes filled with tears. The bag was sucked into her mouth, and she felt as if the plastic was reaching her throat. She desperately tried to pull her arms back to reach for the bag, to tear it off but her arms were not built to go backwards like that.
Jill started to slow down. She twisted her head as if to say no to her impending doom, but her lungs burned, and her situation pressed down onto her. She kicked out a few times and rammed her head back onto the floor repeatedly. Her face was obscured by her hair and the bag fogging up. She let out a few soft whines. She thrust out her chest repeatedly. She weakly pulled at the ropes and her movements started to slow down more. She continued to struggle but her movements lost the strength that they had. Josh watched as she kept getting more and more slow. She spasmed once then twice and then finally a third time. She then stopped moving.
Josh turned his attention to Sara. She was still struggling. Suddenly her movements became faster as she instinctively felt a new desperation. She thrashed around as if trying to strike at something. She stopped for a moment then started again. She struck the bed with her feet. She then partially sat up and repeatedly thrust her head forward. She then fell back into a laying position. She made strange noises. Sara then rolled onto her side and tried to reach for something with her hands. She then continued to shake her body side to side. Eventually her movements slowed down until finally they stopped.
Josh waited a minute and checked both of their pulses. Till death do they part. He reached down for his bag. Don’t worry I’ll bury you both together, he thought as he took out a trash bag.

“Here you go,” said the mustached man as he handed Josh another wad of cash. “It’s worth every penny.” They were behind an old movie theater.
“It was a pleasure doing business with you,” said Josh.
“The pleasure is all mine,” said the man. “I’m glad I called you to eliminate her.” The man’s smile grew. “I guess I could call you the EliminaTER, you know, because you eliminate her, as in women, as your job.”
“Yeah, that’s a good one,” said Josh with a fake smile. He turned and walked away. Then again that’s not a bad name.

The next day, Josh was in the community center playing basketball with the team. He darted pass another player while dripping. The air was filled with yelling. Another player tried to take the ball from Josh, but he spun away.
Suddenly a pair of hands shot out towards him. He barely managed to keep the ball from them when another player came up from behind. Josh spun away from the other man and nearly lost his footing.
Josh regained his balance and made his way to the basket. Suddenly he saw a man between him and it. Before he could do anything, Josh ran into the other man knocking him down.
The whistle sounded and Doris came over to them. “That’s a fowl,” she cried. “Miles, you can’t steamroll other players!”
“It was an accident,” said Josh.
“Another word and I’ll have you run laps,” said Doris. She picked up the ball and tossed it to the man Josh knocked over. “Two shots.”
Josh and the other players watched the man use his free throws. Josh clenched his fists. That mouthy bitch, thought Josh looking at Doris.

A couple of hours later, Josh arrived at his apartment. God, that Doris gets to me. He took a deep breath. Keep calm. You just started a new life here. You can’t blow it.
Josh started to think about what he could do to pass the time when his burner rang. I’ve got to think of a different way to communicate with clients. “Hello?”
“Hey, you’re the guy who offs women?” asked the man on the other end.
Josh was silent for a moment. “I handle problems.”
“. . . Great, anyway I have a problem,” said the man. “A girl next door doesn’t know what a property line means.”
“And you want me to take care of her?” asked Josh.
“If that means kill her then yeah,” said the man. “Can you do it?”
Josh thought about Doris. “Yes.”

That night a woman named Stacy was asleep in bed. Some noise woke her, and she blinked away the sleep. Looking up she began to realize that there was a figure looking down at her. What . . .? she began to wonder.
Josh swung his club at Stacy’s head knocking her unconscious.
Josh looked at the woman as she laid there. He ran a hand through her short brown hair. He pulled back the covers to reveal that she was only wearing a shirt and panties. After a moment, Josh reached under Stacy’s arms and dragged her out of bed.

Slowly Stacy regained consciousness. As she woke up, she began to cough fiercely. What’s going on? She tried to move but could not. She fully woke up to see that she was sitting in her car which was running in her garage. She was shocked to see her hands were duct taped to the steering wheel. She tried to move again but duct tape had been wrapped around her torso above and below her breasts. She just then noticed that loud music was playing.
After coughing for nearly half a minute Beth started to call out. “Hey, someone help me! Help! Help!!!”
There was no response.
They can’t hear me! What am I going to do!?
She tried to slow her breathing. She then tried to pull her hands off the wheel, but the tape held. She got an idea. She took a breath and was rewarded with another coughing fit. She then headbutted the steering wheel honking the horn. She tired this several times.
Stacy raised her head and desperately looked around, but no one was coming to her rescue. They can’t hear that!?
She looked around as her heart raced. Please, I don’t want to die!
Suddenly she saw the gear shift. She raised her leg and after a few tries managed to use her knee to push it into reverse. Stacy then pressed down on the gas.
The car shot backwards into the closed garage door. It struck it with a loud thud, but the door held. Stacy kept her foot pressed down on the gas causing the car to spin it’s wheels in place.
Stacy continued to cough. No. I don’t want to die! She banged the horn with her head several more times. She then reached towards the wheel with her head and chewed at the tape around her left wrist. She tried to tear it, but it was so thick. She then raised her leg and used her knee to honk the horn. She held on creating a long wailing sound. “Hey! Hey! Hey!!!”
Stacy slouched in her seat as she suddenly felt woozy. She started to move again but it was difficult. No. No. Her heart started to race again. Stacy kicked at the floor of the car in panic.
After a few seconds Stacy stopped. Think. Think. She looked around and spotted the gear shift again. Stacy raised her leg and after some effort she shifted it into drive. She then slammed her foot on to the gas sending the forward. It hit the back of the garage with a crash.
After Stacy recovered from the crash, she switched the gear to reverse and slammed her foot on the gas again. The car shot towards the door again. It hit it causing it to crack open, but the car did not go through the door. Stacy held her foot down on the gas pushing the car against the door. Come on. Come on. Stacy fought the sleepiness that she was feeling come over. Just a little more.
Suddenly Josh entered the garage. He had a towel from the kitchen wrapped around his face. He ran pass Stacy’s old radio on the floor which was loudly playing music and went over to the car.
Josh opened the door and as Stacy turned her head, he punched her in the face knocking her out. Josh quickly reached in and shut off the engine. It didn’t work, thought Josh alarmed. I hope no one heard anything. Josh untied Stacy and dragged back into the house.

Josh brought Stacy into the living room. Not only did she make a commotion but she could’ve gotten free. Maybe next time I need to make sure they’re out longer.
Josh went over to his bag and took out some tape. He then knelled down Stacy as she started to stir. Josh put some tape on Stacy’s nose and mouth just as she regained conscious.
Stacy tried to bolt up, but Josh held her down. “Just stay still,” said Josh in a smoothing voice. “It’s almost over."
Stacy tried to struggle with Josh, but she was too weak from the carbon monoxide. I can’t breathe, she thought as she felt no air coming in. No. No.
Josh held her down as she weakly struggle. She kicked out uselessly as she kept trying to get up. Josh pressed his knee down onto Stacy’s stomach as he held her wrists. She tried to break free but could not. Over the next minute her struggles became slower. After a few more moments her eyes closed, and her head fell to the side. Her movements stopped. Josh waited a moment then checked her pulse. She was dead.
That didn’t go as planned, thought Josh. I need to do better next time.
He went over to his bag. For now, I need to clean this place up.

“Did the police question you?” asked Josh the next day. He was talking with the client on his burner phone.
“Yeah, but like you said I got out of town for the night,” answered the client. “I’m glad that you took care of her. Maybe my next neighbor won’t let their garbage blow into my yard. Anyway, you’re sure they won’t find her?”
“I’m sure,” answered Josh. “Don’t worry about it.”
“OK, then I’ll have your money then,” said the other man. “You know where to meet.” With that he hung up.
Another meeting in person where I could get caught, thought Josh. I need to do something about that but for now I need to solve my other problem.
Josh was on his laptop. He was reading an article titled, Dark Web Based Email Services. With email no one hears my voice, and it would be harder for them to ID me but there’s still the meetings. He switched to another tab which featured an article with the title, Offshore Banking and You. This though will take some work.

Here is the final part of the story. I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to share any thoughts you had about what you liked or did not liked. I plan to post another story soon so please be on the lookout for it. Thanks for your time.

A few days later, Josh heard the burner ring. He sighed but answered it. “Yeah?”
“Are you the guy who deals with women?’ asked a man’s voice.
“There’s an email address you’re supposed to use,” said Josh. “Didn’t you see the new ad?”
“No, anyway can you take care of her or not?” asked the man.
Josh repressed a sigh. “Sure.”
“Meet me at Paul’s Hotdogs at midnight,” said the man. “Come alone.” Without another word he hung up.

That night Josh entered the restaurant. He was wearing a hat and sunglasses and when he entered the only other man there was wearing the same thing. He joined him at his booth.
“You need someone ‘dealt’ with?” asked Josh.
The other man slid a picture of a beautiful woman across the table towards Josh. “Do you know who this is?”
“Yeah, that’s Gale Davenport,” answered Josh. “She’s a movie star. She’s also divorcing some guy . . . he was in that show, Mahorn’s Palace.”
“Right,” said the other man. “You can take care of her right?”
I never kill someone famous before, thought Josh. It could bring a lot of heat. Sure, but it will cost you.”
“Whatever, just do it,” said the man. He quickly got up. “I’ll call you with the details.” The man then quickly left the restaurant.
Was that the guy she’s dumping? Wondered Josh. He picked up the picture. It doesn’t matter.

A couple of days later, Gale left her bathroom. She walked through a hall undoing the ponytail that her blond hair was in.
She entered the bedroom of her penthouse and saw Josh standing by her bed. She jumped back. “Who are you? How did you get in here!?”
With a little help from someone who wants you dead, thought Josh. “It doesn’t matter.” He started towards her.
Gale tried to turn around, but Josh grabbed her arm. He then spun her around and slammed his fist into her stomach.
Gale gasped as the wind was knocked out of her. She collapsed to the floor coughing.
Josh bent down and took off the rope that she was wearing to reveal designer lingerie underneath.
“What are you doing?” asked Gale soon as she got her voice back. Josh grabbed her bra and ripped it off.
Gale screamed and tried to back away.
“Hey, one of the most coveted female bodies in the world, you can’t blame me for wanting to get a look at it,” said Josh.
“Please don’t hurt me,” said Gale covering her chest with her arms. “I have money.”
“Oh, that I know,” said Josh. He quickly reached down and ripped her panties off.
“No,” cried Gale. “No! Please don’t touch me!”
Josh said nothing as he took out a taser. Just as Gale managed to get up into a couching position Josh pushed the button and two leads shot out.
The ends of the wires struck Gale in the chest. She convulsed and fell back.
Josh stood there watching Gale’s body spasmed. When it stopped, she took in deep breathes.
“We’re just getting started,” said Josh. He pressed the button again and Gale spasmed about on the floor.
Josh waited for Gale to stop moving.
“Please no more,” cried Gale. “Why?”
Instead of answering Josh shocked her again.
“Ahh,” cried Gale as she stopped convulsing.
And to think, I used the car battery when shocking someone instead of one these. They’re so convenient.
Gale tried to crawl away, but Josh shocked her. Tears ran down her checks and her mouth hung open as she twisted about.
“Please, no . . . more,” she managed to say.
Josh looked down at her taking the view of her body in. It’s everything they said. It’s kind of a shame. He shocked her again.
Gale cried out. “Did that bastard, Steve put you up to this?!”
Josh shocked her. She clenched her jaw as pain shot through her body.
Josh watched as Gale took in lungfuls of air. “Why?” she asked.
In answer Josh shocked her. “Ahh,” she cried in pain and frustration. “Please stop! I’ll give you anything!”
Josh watched her trembling body for a moment. He then pressed the button again. Gale spasmed about hitting her head against the floor.
“Please, I’ll . . . do anything you want,” she said trying to sound seductive. “Anything!”
Another jolt and Gale’s whole body clenched. She wanted to scream but could not.
Josh let a minute passed as Gale looked up terrified. “Please,” she begged. “Please no more. Please!!!”
Josh pressed the button. Gale flopped about on the floor. Josh held onto the button for a little longer than before.
After stopping the shock Josh watched as Gale stopped spasming. She looked up at him with her cheeks wet from her tears. Her body shook but with fear not electricity.
“I’ve been reading about your marital problems,” said Josh leaning over towards her. “It’s in all the papers. Your husband, Steve, has accused you all sorts of things, like hiding money overseas.”
“Yes,” Gale shouted. “I did it! You can have it all!”
“What I want is a little Q and A about how you did that,” said Josh with his finger hovering over the button. “Tell me the ins and outs of offshore banking.”

Some time later, Gale laid face down on the floor. Her body ached from the shocks that Josh gave during his questioning. She was barely aware of the fact that he had left the room.
Josh entered the bedroom. “Since you’ve been so helpful, I’ve done something nice for you,” he said.
“What?” Gale managed to ask as Josh pulled her up by her hair. He picked the taser that was still attached to her off the floor.
Josh maneuvered her into his arms and carried down the hall.
They entered the bathroom. “I’ve drawn you a bath,” answered Josh.
It took Gale a moment to realized what was going on. “No,” she cried weakly. She struggled and waved her legs in a futile attempt to escape.
“By the way, the future widower, Steve, sent a message,” said Josh as he carried her to the filled tub. “He said, ‘goodbye bitch’!”
Josh pressed the button on the taser and threw her and it into the tub. Sparks flew and the water sizzled as the taser, with it’s safety removed, overloaded.
Gale thrashed about wildly. Her eyes rolled up into her head. She shook violently. She jerked and twitched about for several seconds. Finally, she stopped, and her head sunk under the water. Only her legs and one of her large breasts were poking out.
That’s a wrap, thought Josh. He turned and walked away.

“You said that you had an account that you wanted me to transfer the funds to?” asked the client.
“Yeah, just a second,” said Josh into the burner. He had his laptop on his lap. He clicked off an article about masking a computer’s IP and logged into the website of a bank in the Cayman Islands.
Josh gave the client, Steve, the account info and after refreshing his screen a few times he saw a deposit being added to the money he had transferred from Gale’s account. It all added up to millions of dollars.
“I got it,” said Josh.
“Good,” said Steve. He hung up.
Josh looked back at the screen, at the fortune that was now his. He took out the ID for Ralph Miles and held in front of the screen. A whole new life, a world of possibilities. I think I’m going to enjoy this one better than the last one.
Josh smiled as he pocketed the ID and checked his new email for clients.

The End
