In 2005/2006, Lupus company RGE produced two films called Stalin 2 and Stalin 3 (very lightly sequels to their original Stalin film which was a fairly standard spanking tale/tail). These two 50-60-minute movies (available for download for about $10 each) take place in Czechoslovakia during the communist government there. They are much more than BDSM films. There is a story and a reasonable documentary attempt to deal with issues of totalitarianism with some English narration and some English subtitles, but they don't lack for impressive spanking and whipping interrogation scenes. Both the actresses and the bad-guys—so often a low-point in torture flicks—are professional and believable. No over-acting, no mailing-it-in.

The story follows a young woman imprisoned for marking up a photo of Stalin in the local newspaper. She and her friends and her teacher and even the local communist rep are all imprisoned and tortured to admit to an anti-communist conspiracy. Both films include documentary footage and narration. In Stalin 3, there are "expert" commentaries by doctors, politicians, etc. about what happened during the period. Both films are worth watching as stories, and neither is a BDSM film per se, but compared to anything mainstream you have ever seen, the amount of nudity, nastiness and torture is not stinted at all. Best of all from my point of view, while there is plenty of caning, there are more than a few great frontal whipping scenes and torture scenes as well. Nobody in garter-belts or thigh-highs, and (gasp) no forced orgasms though there are some not-too-graphic rapes.

I'm not going to try to go through the story line. I'll simply say that for those who like story, professional performances and quality production, these are well worth the low cost. And, for those of you who bought Playboy back in the day for the articles, I include some images to give you an idea of the vid-cap and edit-down potential as well. My grade for either or both films is an A.
