The movie starts with Jane wondering alone through city streets and into a building. (I guess that's what one does when desperately seeking Red Feline.) She is suddenly attacked by a masked man, who chokes her until she passes out. When she comes to, her arms are bound and she is blindfolded. Before long, her top is pulled down to reveal her lovely breasts, and her panties are removed and stuffed into her mouth. Then, she is whipped, first standing and later crouching helpless on the floor, until she eventually passes out.

As the movies progresses, she endures even more whipping in various positions and states of attire. In turns, she is whipped while standing against a wall, spread-eagled in a doorway, tied to ladder, and stretched with her arms over her head. She is beaten both front and back until (fake) bloody whip-marks blossom all over her back, chest, and abdomen. Her clothes are systematically shredded by the whips until they fall off her body and she is completely naked. She appears to pass out repeatedly from the intensity of her ordeals, but her tormentor continues whipping her long after she passes out.

After these whipping scenes, Jane's torture continues with a trestle that bristles with spikes. There are some nice close-ups of her body as she lies bound to the trestle, first on her chest and then on her back. After enduring the trestle, she is fitted with a crown made from barbwire and crucified with nails against a wall. Her struggles are superb until she finally succumbs from this ordeal. (I guess curiosity killed the cat.)

Although the movie is playacted, it is as realistic as others in the fantasy BDSM genre, (e.g., ZFX). The whip lashes look and sound real, and Jane's reaction is very believable. She is bound in every scene, but the bondage could have been more restrictive and demanding. For example, the trestle scene could have been improved if Jane had been more stringently tied to the apparatus. I appreciated the use of a blindfold and gag in the movie. She is blindfolded in the first third of the movie and gagged in the first whipping scene. I do wish, however, that a gag had been used in some other scenes as well. As with all Red Feline productions, this movie contains no dialog and a lot of fake gore. I am willing to accept that these reflect the producer's artistic expression, and, overall, I am not bothered by them. However, the blood could have been used more sparingly without affecting the mood of the movie. By the end of the movie, Jane is covered in blood, which gives her a glazed look as if basted in barbeque sauce. My biggest gripe about the blood is that it obscures Jane's fine physique.

For BDSM fantasy to work for me, I need to feel some sort of visceral connection with the victim. If I'm not attracted to her, I'm just not interested. On that score, Jane is an excellent fantasy victim. She has a wholesome, girl-next-door look and is blessed with a pretty face, lovely figure, and flawless skin. She is not only beautiful, but also talented as a BDSM actress. She portrays innocence, vulnerability, and distress perfectly without hamming it up. Her struggles are realistic yet graceful, and her breathy, anguished vocalizations are very sensual.

Overall Red Room: Desperately Seeking Red Feline is a worthy addition to the fantasy BDSM genre and earns a B for its variety of whipping positions and Jane's convincing portrayal of an agonized victim.
