A Bring Out the GIMP (Girls in Merciless Peril) Movie Review

Snuff-Movie

Reviewed by Mr. 0

Well, since someone already posted a movie review for this week I might as well post mine. It's a GIMP scene from Snuff-Movie (2005) and if my prediction is right, this should be A Canadian's cup of tea: a forced crucifixion done to a very unwilling victim!

I wholeheartedly believe that crucifixion is one of the best forms of bondage, mostly because it practically attacks the victim on many places. According to Wikipedia, death could result from any combination of causes, including blood loss resulting in shock, sepsis following infection due to the wounds caused by the nails or by the scourging that sometimes preceded the crucifixion, or eventual dehydration. And there’s also the possibility of asphyxiation because the whole body weight will have to be supported by the stretched arms, making the victim suffers from difficulty of breathing due to hyper-expansion of the chest muscles and lungs. The victim will therefore have to draw herself up by her arms, leading to exhaustion, or have her feet supported by tying or by a wood block. When no longer able to lift herself, she will die within a few minutes. And that’s just marvelous considering the pain the victim has to endure.

I watched several crucifixion bondage videos myself, mostly made by Insex. Of course they did not go so far as nailing the hands of the girls, though considering pussy sewing is not uncommon in bondage world, wouldn't surprise me one day when there’s a girl willing to be subjected to real crucifixion with nails and all (with the condition she has to be positioned so she will last long enough to be freed of course, cause I'm not sure death is what she’s after).

And the movie in question here, Snuff-Movie directed by Bernard Rose of Candyman fame, has what may be the best crucifixion scene I've seen in any mainstream movie. It basically tells a “movie within a movie” story, where a horror movie director went insane after losing his wife (in Tate-LaBianca fashion), so he decided to gather secret cults to support his new movie: a real snuff horror movie done in his vast mansion, in which he’s going to kill his actors and actresses for real. He gathered his actresses and actors, but the show stealer (in the sense she’s going to be the main menu) is Wendy Jones, played by Lisa Enos (34 years old during the release of the movie). Now in real-life, Lisa Enos is a collaborator of Bernard Rose acting as his producer, but the two times she locked a role in Bernard Rose’s movie, full nudity is guaranteed, so I guess she funded his movie to show her naked body, that’s actually not a bad deal.

Now Wendy here is an aspiring actress hoping for a big break so she can support his fiance once they get married. She’s so committed to her craft that during the audition, she did not actually mind when the interviewer asked her to remove her clothes cause it's needed for the role:

A fine rack to behold I'd say, and we got a sex scene, one shower scene, and one bathtub scene from her as well in this movie, so we're all good, yeah?

The crucifixion scene in question happens in the climax of the movie, where every cast has been…let’s say sacrificed in various ways. We are shown some men in robes entering Wendy’s room where she is hanged almost unconsciously to the ceiling wearing her nightgown. They pull her down and quickly strip her of her nightgown as she tries to fight back fruitlessly. We got a nice view of her being carried on to the altar completely naked while hundreds of people are watching:

And as you can see, there’s a visible wound above her left breast made by a sharp object, likely to “mark” her role. She remains catatonic until they reach the altar and whip her backside several times which causes her to scream. Some other naked victims are visible lying on the altar, but all the eyes are on her. But the real torture begins when they place him to the cross and start to drive the nails through her hands and feet:

Needless to say, she screams out of her lungs as the nails drive their way deeper into her hands and feet. We also got a really nice close up shot of her breasts as this process takes place.

Now, I did believe Lisa Enos took roles only to show off her rack, but I must admit she’s got guts. Not only she wears nothing, but she has to be seen by hundreds of people, recorded on camera, and practically touched & tortured by a dozen guys in a degrading way. To that point at least, I give her kudos. I cannot remember when did the last time an actress actually had to bear all these "humiliation", so either she's very comfortable with her body or she's so proud of it she feels it has to be seen. Whichever it is, we're the lucky ones! >_<

Now on to the best part, after done nailing her limbs to the cross, the men pulled her up slowly for everyone to see and record:

Once she’s up and ready for display, the entire cult take their time recording her and looking at her form. They let her up there for several minutes as she tries to breathe. This is a very well done scene with a proper amount of run time, any bondage lover should like this scene. You can also appreciate the beauty of Lisa Enos this way. I almost cannot believe she’s the mother of 3 children in real life.

I don't think I can add much to this scene, it’s already good the way it is. The little touch I like the most is when Wendy was crucified, she looked up rather than looked down to her spectators. That could mean the humiliation was so hard to endure she chose not to set her sights on the degrading looks from the masses below, or maybe she was really expecting her Lord to somehow clear the mess up. The people locking their eyes and cameras on her really add to the feel this torture is inescapable and beyond degrading. She is forced to be in this position so they can enjoy watching her suffer. Lisa Enos sold the torture perfectly: she did not scream much, she did not cry much, and she did not do anything too much. Her trying to balance her back when she is on top of the crux is another little touch I really enjoy. The entire lasts more than a minute or so:

Eventually, Wendy begs for God to help her, in which the director challenged God to do something, but nothing happened. So, the director decides Wendy is of no use anymore and disposes of her by piercing her heart with a spear. The shock, the pain, the wound, and the exhaustion finally prove too much for Wendy to bear and she dies almost instantly. The ritual ends with the director having Wendy's dead body on his lap, bemoaning the lack of anything supernatural actually happening:

And that’s the entire scene, the movie is worth for that scene alone, at least for me. It’s sucky as a movie as a whole, but the entire crucifixion scene and any scene with Lisa Enos naked got a solid A from me.
