Mini mainstream review of Slaughter
Slaughter trailer
Faith (played by Amy Shiels) with the help of her sister, attempts a fresh start at life by moving to a new city where her abusive boyfriend won't be able to find her. After settling in her new place she heads out for a night on the town. At a nightspot she notices a girl being harassed by some guy so she steps in and helps. The two start talking and later end up becoming fast friends. People not knowing the two might even think they're sisters since they look quite a bit alike.
After a while in the new city Faith starts to get phone messages from her ex and fears he’s tracked her down. She shares her fears with Lola (played by Lucy Holt) and ends up staying at her farmhouse way out in the country for awhile. Faith soon finds that Lola has a bit of a wild, promiscuous side that she didn't realize she had. She also soon starts to let her curiosity get the better of her as she snoops around the pig slaughterhouse Lola has for neighbors. There she finds all kinds of boxes with pictures of little girls.
Gimp wise there are 3 segments of interest. The first one is during the opening credits as we see a victim’s hands tied as she fades in and out of consciousness. She is then dragged by the wrists to a lake where she now gets her ankles tied with a rope. The scene finishes off with a cinder block getting tied to the other end as she ends up dumped in the lake.
The second scene is a return to the opening segment as we see that the victim is Faith. As she struggles underwater she is pulled out just as she loses consciousness.
The third segment immediately follows, as Faith is now lying on a table with her hands tied overhead and ankles tied to the bottom end of the table. She is wearing a tight fitting tank top and panties. When she comes to she is then tormented by having the skin of her belly pinched and punctured and then has a belly ring pulled through the fresh wound. She then gets blindfolded which is followed by a few of her teeth being pulled as she again passes out (it all fits with the storyline).
The drowning/table tie segment lasts a very long time as far as mainstreams go. The two back to back segments are about 20 minutes in length before she is able to escape.
Entertainment wise: The opening credits state that the story is "Inspired by actual events", though the story seemed unfamiliar. Though somewhat of an original storyline, overall I'd say the movie is about average. Grade C
Gimp wise: Though no nudity, Amy looked pretty good tied in her tight tank top and panties. It turned out to be a very long segment but with tortures of minimal interest IMO. Grade C+
