Originally released as Crushed, but released on DVD as She's Crushed, the movie begins eerily enough, in black and white, with the sound of a crying woman, flashes of bound wrists and blood splashing on the floor, a woman tied standing with her face covered in blood as a man protests, "I won't do it!" even though he goes on to strangle the bloodied woman by hand. Cut to titles, which display over a background of gaudily lit scenes of a scantily clad female body on the ground, I think. It has that over-lit and over-colored quality I associate with bad 70s movies.

The movie is about a psycho gal (Tara) with a high nasally voice that grates and a nose that gives Sarah Jessica Parker a run for her money. She obsesses on this guy (Ray) and pretty much destroys his life. He is a dweeb with a bitch for a girlfriend (Maddy) and everyone in his life is unlikeable. This is a movie with no sympathetic characters. And it is filmed in a wholly pedestrian manner. It hits you over the head with impending doom. It is tiresome.

We get to watch Tara shave her underarm hair with a butcher knife, so if you don't like underarm hair, yay. We also witness her doing a job search on the telephone during which she has a meltdown, the scariest part of which is that one of the jobs she was applying for was at a daycare.

Ray gets drunk. Tara picks him up. He wakes up the next morning in bed with her. She walks up to him the next day. He says we need to talk. She asks if he's breaking up with her. It turns out Tara is on some kind of medication and her counselor/doctor is fucking her. You just know how this is going to go.

It takes 22 minutes until we see Tara go postal, when she walks up to Ray and a coworker and starts to talk about how Ray tied her up and slapped her around and told her to piss herself. If that had happened, it might have made watching this flick to this point worthwhile. It did not, of course.

So Ray picks up his girlfriend's son from school and talks to this pretty girl and Tara sees them. At 26:30 we see that girl covered in blood with a cloth gag in her bleeding mouth, tied in a chair, with rivulets of blood running down her legs. Tara is cutting her with a scalpel. Then she stabs her a few times. She kicks the chair over backwards and straddles her and next thing we know Tara is stepping into the shower, covered in blood. While she is showering, we get speeded-up flashbacks to her slashing the girl.

At 30:30, we find out via flashbacks that Tara was raped, but the entire 30-second sequence is shot in quick flashes of blurry close-ups with other angles superimposed over the primary picture, so it is pretty unsatisfying. Then there's a quick-cut sequence of Tara in her underwear in a bare room, being held captive maybe. There's a picture of a butcher knife in her mouth with blood pouring out. She pulls one of her own teeth and blood oozes out. Then we see her in a hospital, rocking back and forth so the whole prisoner-in-the-room bit was likely all a hallucination.

At about 40 minutes in, we see Ray's boss in the trunk of his car as Tara stabs her a few more times to finish her off. When Ray pulls out his phone to call the police, Tara hits herself, tears her own clothes, and says she'll tell the police that Ray raped and killed his boss, then tried to do the same to her. So they bury her, which gives Tara the opportunity to mangle the body with the shovel and once again she ends up covered in blood.

At 45:30 we see Ray's buddy from Iraq doing coke and having sex with a hot blond wearing only panties (only nudity in this flick). Tara shows up, kills the guy (he's in a wheelchair), attacks the girl, beats her senseless, then stuffs her hand down the garbage disposal and turns it on, then stomps her unconscious. She drags her into another room, and we get to see the backside of her body (she's wearing a thong). Next we see Tara taking the claw end of a hammer to the girl's mouth and prying out her teeth one by one.

She picks up and murders Ray's (male) coworker in a particularly gruesome fashion. Then she picks up and kills Cassie, another of Ray's coworkers, thinking it is his girlfriend, Maddy. Then Maddy comes along while Tara is holding Ray prisoner, so Tara gets the drop on Maddy. It is 1:02:00 into the movie. We're all in Tara's basement. Ray is tied to a chair. Maddy is tied AOH.

Tara cuts her own stomach with a butcher knife. Then she tears off Maddy's dress (leaving her in a huge white bra and what looks like running shorts), and at some point cuts Maddy's stomach, but we only see the bloody cut afterward.

The next segment is done in short blackouts. Tara proceeds to skin Maddy's legs. She slices her with the knife. She drives a spike through both of her feet into the floor, then uses a blowtorch to burn her toes. Then she cuts off her toes with the knife. Then she bashes her toes with a hammer. (Tara hates feet!) Finally, Tara suggests that if Ray really loved Maddy, he would kill her to end the suffering. Maddy asks Ray to kill her. Ray takes the knife to kill her, but cuts her down instead. Maddy gets the jump on Tara, but Tara grabs the knife and stabs Maddy in the stomach, killing her. The torture and murder of Maddy took ten and a half minutes, although there's a time out in the middle when Tara's doctor comes to the door. Tara goes on to murder Maddy's adolescent son and then eventually murder Ray. Oops. I should have said "spoiler alert!"

If you like torture porn, then you might like this movie. I did not like it at all. The GIMP stuff was not titillating in the least, just lots of blood and violence and screaming and not enough GIMP nudity (which was all from only one girl) and absolutely no GIMP sex. Plus, Tara creeped me out. To review: There was the hand in the garbage disposal bit. Various slashings, stabbings and murders of extraneous characters. And of course, ten and a half minutes of slicing, knifing, skinning, driving spikes through feet, burning toes with a blowtorch, slicing off toes and bashing the mutilated feet with a hammer on one female victim, which counts as a lot of GIMP. But, you know, it was not fun. I will grudgingly give this a C on technical GIMP (not enough nudity), but an F for personally exciting GIMP. It just was not my thing.
