A brief overview of the plot of High Tension: A couple of girls head out to the country to stay with the family of one of the girls so they can study without interruption. After arriving, a killer enters the house to kidnap the girl who lives there, and in the process kills her entire family. The other girl at first goes undetected and gives chase to the kidnapper as he takes off with the first girl in a small truck. I will jump right to the Gimp scenes here as not to give away too much of the movie. And my review grade will be for Gimp scenes only.

The girl who is kidnapped is wearing sleep shorts, a sleep shirt, and short robe. She gets chained around her ankles and wrists (however in front) and has some sort of bit-gag placed in her mouth. The kidnapper throws her over his shoulder and takes her to his mini truck and tosses her in the back and takes off.

Not much really happens to her, except where after the kidnapper stopped to re-fuel, he also get a bottle of whisky which he later pours all over the chained girl in back. He then lights a cigarette and threatens to drop the match on her in what I imagine would have been a Ralphus worthy segment. But sorry…not to be, Ralphus.

Even though nothing really much happens to her, the segments are visually appealing because of a combination of her fear (having watched her family murdered), sweat (and whisky), and that she’s pretty toothy, which sets off the bit-gag nicely. Plus she remains chained and gagged for a long period in the movie (about an hour in segments here and there of course).

Then for those who are into asphyxiation scenes, this one has a couple of nice ones. The first is where the girl giving chase is suffocated to unconsciousness with a sheet of heavy plastic. Then a little later, is choked before the kidnapper succumbs to his injuries.
